After reviewing all of the area restaurants for dinner options this was the only one that had a potion of the menu dedicated to vegetarian and vegan options. The lettuce wrap dish for delish! We also picked for outdoor seating options at the seaport. While we had hoped to sit upstairs for optimal view, it was closed that evening due to lack of staff, but the street location was still enjoyed; the evening breeze included. We also ate outside because one of our friends has hearing issues; any inside sounds make it hard for some. The service was excellent from making the reservation to being pleasantly seated to concluding the dinner. My colleagues also said they enjoyed their choices. If in the area for a conference as we were, this IS the place for dinner. read more

I went here for dinner and a drink the day after opening night. I got the chipotle chicken entree and it was very good. My drink was the empress gin and tonic which was also nice. The interior of the restaurant was absolutely stunning. We sat upstairs and there was so much natural light and a beautiful view of the water. There was no tables on the upper terrace but people were welcome to go out there to sip of their drinks or take pictures. The place is stunning, super spacious, and the staff is incredibly friendly. However, the menu could use a bit of a makeover. Tried the oysters, and they were good, but the sushi stack left me feeling disappointed. Sushi is a masterpiece on its own, and their take on the "sushi stack" turned it into more of a tuna tartare. Despite this hiccup, I might give it another shot, curious to explore the rest of the menu and see if the other dishes hit the mark. I definitely would recommend others to come by and give this place a try. I'll definitely come back in the near future to try the rest of the menu out. I also would recommend coming up with a better system in controlling the capacity, the day my friend and I came here it was very busy to the point me and her couldn't even get through the hallways or get to the bar to get drinks. They did have this weird system of controlling lines with stanchions throughout the restaurant but it wasn't very helpful. One last suggestion would be toning down the music so people can actually hear each other talk amongst one another. There is no reason why I need to scream over the music to talk to my friend. The crazy EDM music did not match the aesthetic of the restaurant at all, please pick a better variety of music. Hostess was blowing off guests and playing on her phone on a busy night. Next we were told to get a bartender's attention to order takeout and he looked at us, then walked away ignoring us. I was told takeout would only take 15 minutes but it took more then double that amount of time. That isn't even all of the bad service! The man who was ringing up our order apologized because he had no idea how to ring it up. That isn't a problem on its own but with everything else really topped it off. They also forgot to put part of the order in the takeout bag but we were still charged. While the food was good this place seems to have severe problems with staff and service. Visited this place on a whim and glad we did! Parking was a bit challenging but the hotel next door had valet so went that route. The portions here were large so don't over order. I got a steak salad that was delicious! The service was friendly and constantly checked up on us, waters were promptly refilled, and waiters were easy to flag down. Our waitress was super pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. The manager was pleasant as well, which is important when running a business. Parking in the city is always right expensive or impossible, so i skipped that completely and just used a ride share service. The drinks were delicious! very well mixed. The food was very interesting. We started with a chicken lettuce wrap. It was F***ing delicious. The lettuce was fresh, and had the perfect crunch- the chicken was well flavored, it truly was a perfect bite. My friend got the shrimp tacos for the entree- she enjoyed them. I got the steak, medium- with a side of fries. My steak I asked for medium...ended up getting cooked medium well-well. very hard to cut through- BUT it was returned and another steak was prepared, it was much better, but still not quite medium. The fries were very salty, but some people may enjoy that (personal preference). We finished with a toffee pudding, one of my favorite desserts in general...it was on the drier side. Dryish and thick. tasted more of a cake rather than a "pudding". The icecream and sauce helped make it slightly better. I think over time these things could be improved because it was such a great experience. I would go here again to try the other items. beautiful restaurant in a prime location. A group of us went to Moxie for brunch on 7/27/25. Unfortunately it was not a great experience. The only redeeming part was the view. The service was poor. Our server was not very good. It took time to even get service. She had to come back to the table and ask a second time what we wanted. When she asked if we needed more drinks she said oh wait I better write this down. She did not know much about the menu. When one of us asked for a particular type of cheese she said oh I'll put it on the computer and see if the kitchen can do it. You don't even know what type of cheese you have and if you don't could you ask?? Then when it was served there was no cheese at all! The hash was not visually appealing or very tasty, if it wasn't for the spicy sausage there would be no flavor. I had to ask twice for salt and pepper. She kept forgetting. And the poached egg was more like hard boiled. The appetizers were good but the entrees lacking. We also had no napkins or silverware. Had to poach other tables for them. When we were finally finished we had to wait for her to come back so we could ask for our check. It is just disappointing when the restaurant was not busy and you see multiple servers just standing around at the bar talking. And where is the dining room manager??? Does no one care about customer service anymore. Nice location but poor service and barely adequate food. read more

Update I talked to the boss, Mike Nezny he assured me that the next time I come in, it would be the best I came early when they opened the restaurant the first couple of weeks so they didn't have everything together. Yesterday was amazing. The drinks were made to perfection. I had a reservation already made for me I was seated in the middle of the restaurant. It was the most amazing experience of my life. The steak was amazing. The mahi-mahi was the best fish I've ever tasted in my life. I made a very negative review, but I gave it another chance and I'm very glad that I did the people the food. The service was impeccable thank you Mike for making it right and for talking me into coming one more time I will be back forever thank you for a great night and thank you for making it right. Amazing food, I especially love the brunch menu however I visited last night Saturday 01/25/25 with a friend we were stunned at the awesome service we were provided by a lovely young lady named Sandra. I usually don't pay much attention to the person serving us as they never really tried to make me feel important. This young lady treated us like we were the only diners in the place and I know she was very busy but you could not tell she handled everything like a pro. It totally lived up to it's vow and then some. The staff was fantastic. I arrived earlier than my friends, but they were kind enough to seat me, regardless. Our lovely waitress was patient with me as I ordered a drink for myself and waited for the rest of my party. The menu varied, but in the best way possible. There are numerous excellent options for vegetarian or vegan diners, and those dishes are delicious for even non-vegetarians! Our waitress was personable, kind, patient, and made some excellent recommendations. Moxie's is way down on the waterfront, so if you plant on walking or taking the T, just be aware and plan accordingly. But however you get there, it's worth the hike! Went on a Friday night and it was busy, we were 20 minutes late for the reservation and called to let them know but by time we got there still had to wait another 30 for the table. We were able to grab a couple bar seats and have a drink. The drink menu offered a nice variety and we went with some spritzes that were good. The food was overall good as we got the burger and shrimp tacos. Nothing that blew me away but well cooked and solid portion sizes. I think the food is priced well but the drinks are definitely expensive $15+ for a cocktail. We finished it off with the Mile high pie and that was a delicious ice cream cake. The servers and hosts were constantly checking in (almost too often) but did so in a nice way so it was definitely good service. Unfortunately it was fairly disorganized, one entree came out about 20 minutes ahead of the others, my cocktail arrived with a foreign object (soft plastic) in it, and the food running staff seemed to be mixed up between the tables next to us and ours with every item that came out. This place has always looked like a great modern spot to hang out. We picked it specifically for the graduation of someone who has celiac disease as it's a gluten conscious restaurant. When the reservation was made they assured us they would take us early since we were uncertain when the ceremony would end. Despite saying "five minutes" when we first walked into the restaurant, they made us wait a full forty minutes (and ten minutes after our original reservation time). We had to specifically ask for a server to come take our drinks order as we'd been seated fifteen minutes with no attention. We made the call to put in all food orders at that time and 35 MINUTES later a manager came over to inform us that the nachos our celiac graduate ordered was fried in the same oil as gluten and therefore was not going to work. For a gluten conscious restaurant, the staff didn't know allergy procedure. This was just as other appetiser orders were coming out. The rest of the food took equally long to come out. We left when the nachos came out cold. This was a miserable experience for a graduation celebration, for a restaurant that was supposed to be allergy friendly. Honestly, the only saving grace was that they informed us the nachos would have cross contamination. read more

I absolutely love this place! From the moment you walk in it's captivating. Instantly you're greeted they have a cute couch and selfie spot right under the clear glass staircase. One side is definitely the bar/lounge area you can tell it's full of life! So of course I gravitate there! However what I love is they have areas where it's more secluded and less of the bar vibe and quite personable- so in all fairness it's set up for a weekend date night and can quickly roll into a lounge scene- We did go once for brunch which I was completely shocked they offered.... We had 3 waitresses because we were a party of 25. We had to make reservations several weeks ahead. In order to get us all accommodated especially my brother he's got 2 small kids under 5 so they still like to run, ( they gave us an extra area) just in case which I thought was so family oriented of them- they definitely must have kids! The food was priced lower than what we expected for that area. The quality and freshness can be seen in detail and the prompt service was excellent. The ambiance was very pleasant and lively. There's a buzz and energy without being an over the top party. NY swanky bar vibes. The cocktails were solid and so was the food. Had an innocent confusion between my server and the runner and they initially brought the wrong entree. Wasn't a big deal, but the manager came over without hesitation and complemented me and my guest with comped desserts to accommodate the delay. Thanks so much Alexis! That was unexpected and appreciated. Ultimately, I've tried a lot of new places in Boston, and I usually leave with a bad taste in my mouth. Either bad service or food not great, just something.
