Pros: Food was great once we got it. Cons: Service was abysmally slow. It took them awhile to take our orders. My seltzer came so late, I forgot I ordered it. My companion's soda came 15 minutes after mine. Once we got the food we just wolfed it down. Another companion asked for another drink. It never came. Sigh. If you're looking for a place with mediocre food and service then this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant out for dinner and it was quite memorable but not in a good way. To start out drinks weren't good I got the grapefruit spritz which tasted like the Prosecco was flat and my boyfriend got an old fashioned mule and it was just not good at all. Second our food kept going to the wrong table as well as the orders from the surrounding tables. We got the brussel sprouts as an app which were good and the steak bites but those were extremely tough and overcooked. For entrees my boyfriend got the pork belly Bolognese which had no flavor I ordered the shrimp tacos which were actually good. All in all if you're looking for good music and drinks it'll do the job. Won't be going back because of the service/disorganization. Maybe since this is fairly new they still need some time to work things out I just wasn't impressed. read more

Came in for lunch. Seated upstairs in the back. The table was dirty and so was the one next to us. Crumbs and hair in the seat. The menus were sticky and covered with food. We live next door and went this past Sunday. There were SIX people at the hostess stand... yet not one of them greeted us, and they were befuddled as to where to seat us. If you are going to have SIX people hanging around the entrance, they should be friendly & ready to sit the next guest. When they finally brought us inside, the music was so blaringly loud (and we were already turned off by the unprofessional hostess stand) that we left. We won't be back. read more

Went to moxies for the bar, produced ID at the door and was greeted by very nice employees at the front. After enjoying great service, my friend and I were approached by someone claiming to be the owners son who demanded my friend produce an ID again after sitting at the bar for over an hour, which was not only confusing but embarrassing. After another 30 minutes I close out our tab and leave a generous tip. On our way to see friends on the other side of the bar we were stopped by a security guard and told to leave with no reason besides claiming we were drunk. In no way were either of us being rude, belligerent or a problem in any reasonable way. Sadly another bar with great atmosphere and hard working staff ruined by a security team on a power trip. read more

There are two levels and both have very loud music playing. I was there with a colleague and we were not able to have a conversation. Came here a week after opening for a birthday celebration. Very loud and cold atmosphere. Table was wobbly and there were no others available to move. Old Fashioned glass had a chip and crack. as a 23 year old young lady wanting to celebrate a friend for dinner, we were unable to do so due to the extreme disrespect and unprofessionalism coming from the staff at moxies. my ID was taken off the bat by our server who immediately seemed unpleasant to be there. She never returned to our table. Instead, the bouncer and manager came to tell me my ID was "not real". After proving my birthdate in a few other forms, nothing was accepted. The bouncer began bending and ripping my ID at the sides, playing with it like a toy. Another manager then came to tell us we could not eat there or be served. he then brought up my appearance saying we "can't blame him" because I look "so young". this went on for over an hour. myself, my two friends of age and THREE immature staff members laughing at me thinking im trying to use a fake ID. After all this time, I was finally given it back and immediately left the restaurant for being treated so poorly. The next day I returned with my passport and to speak with the manager as I was so distraught. There was very little sympathy even then. I feel this was a destruction of property and now how have to go out of my own way for a new ID. I am baffled by the unprofessionalism at this restaurant and will not be recommending it in the future. read more

First time trying this place. Food was ok, nothing to rave about. We ordered the calamari and Potstickers for Apps. Both were fresh. For entrees we ordered the mushroom pasta and the steak frites. It was good! Drinks were good as well. Overall the experience was mid. While the restaurant was new, I don't feel like it adds anything new to the Boston restaurant scene. We went here for dinner on Saturday night. It is SO LOUD! We were attending the concert across the street after and luckily, we had ear plugs with us. Yes, it's so loud that we had to wear ear plugs. There's music and the acoustics are terrible making it way more loud than it really needs to be. Our server was very nice though. However, she asked if we wanted the premium water and we said no but then a few minutes later, she drops off a bottle at the table that's labeled "premium water". We caught her on her next trip by and explained we didn't want water (we didn't want a charge for premium water that we didn't order!). The food was good and the manager was making the rounds to see if people needed anything and brought us a fresh batch of chips. He was also very nice. Then the bill came and I was charged for a $32 glass of wine instead of the $20 I ordered. Luckily, they quickly remedied it but if I hadn't looked at it carefully, I would have been overcharged. I'm sure that it was an error but it's so confusing in there I'm not surprised it was happening. We were sitting by the area where they enter in the checks and it was mass confusion on top of being so loud. And I used to be a music teacher so, I'm used to noise but this was next level. We had to yell at each other across a small table to have any sort of conversation. Again, the server and manager were nice and the food was good but I'd never go back. I was debating on writing this message but I think it is necessary. Me and my boyfriend had dinner reservations at Moxies in Seaport Boston Saturday, February 10th, in hopes to celebrate an early Valentine's Day. He called the Tuesday prior to make the reservation. He spoke to someone, they took down his first and last name, and confirmed the time. Upon arriving Saturday night, the male handling the reservation list was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. He was trying to convince us we did not make a reservation. He also did not even know the phone number to the restaurant when we showed him the number we called so he could confirm it was correct. He then proceeded to continuously say how busy they were instead of helping us. This man also said if he got us a table we would have maybe an hour to enjoy our dinner. After minutes of inconsideration, we were able to be sat but this man definitely ruined our experience. read more
