Summer 2022, I tried their Rainbow Boba Milk Tea (3 flavors of boba) when they first opened; they had their 1-year anniversary this past May. Located next to Teriyaki Maki in the North Natomas Town Center. They handmake their own tapioca bobas fresh daily, and while their standard flavors of bobas are strawberry, mango, and brown sugar, on weekends they have different special boba flavors each week too such as kiwi, peach, passion fruit, black sesame, blueberry, rose, cinnamon, or chocolate. They also have fresh milk or upgrade to oat milk options! For most drinks, you can also adjust the sweetness and ice level. Drinks come in one size -- either medium or large depending on the drink. They use organic cane sugar, and bobas/tea are only preserved for up to 4 hours max to maintain freshness and quality. Recently I tried out the Too Good To Go (TGTG) app, where you can "rescue" surprise bags of unsold or surplus food so it doesn't go to waste, and I noticed that one of the local participating places nearby me was Mr. Sun Tea where you could get "an assortment of boba tea." You reserve ahead of time, then pick up during a certain window (in my case, between 8:30-9:00PM). For only $5.99 plus tax which came out to $6.51 total, my surprise bag included three drinks! Two of them were identical, Black Tea with Strawberry Boba and the third drink was Oolong Milk Tea Boba. Considering one drink on its own ranges from $4.75-$6.75 on the regular menu, this was a great deal! The Oolong was 50% sweet. The strawberry bobas were my favorite. I noticed they did use paper cups which I thought were usually only for hot drinks. They also have several tables inside and free wifi and outlets if you want to linger; no snacks/food items though. I went straight to the counter rather than the kiosk since I went through the app already in advance. Most of their Mr Sun Specials sound tasty but I remain skeptical of the one with green tea and nonalcoholic Heineken, so there is a slight chance of getting that in a random surprise bag I suppose. If you're looking for Taiwanese tea and homemade boba, Mr. Sun Tea is in the Natomas area -- the only Sacramento location! Did a pick up order and it was quick and more like a grab and go kinda thing. Okay... the teas were great and boba is perfect texture! If you love boba, you know what I'm talking about!! Service is quick and accurate! This is a small shop in a busy area but love picking up late night caffein fix when were busy!
HUGE turnaround for Mr Sun!!!!! I tried this place a while back and wasn't happy with the drinks and we tried it again and it was amazing! Each time we hit up Mr Sun now, the drinks have been top notch! I know when we first tried Mr Sun, it was still new so I think they made adjustments and improvements! I get the same drinks each time and they have made it awesome! The Mr Sun Strawberry and Mr Sun Mango! Each drink has the right amount of creaminess, boba, jelly and ice! Great combo and you don't feel bloated after u drink it! Also, staff is good! The lady who works the front is very nice and each time you spend over $10, you get to spin the machine for a free topping or a buy 2 get one free! Best boba spot in natomas!
Wonderful cafe! I hosted a few kpop events here! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful! I couldn't have chosen a better location since the food and drinks were delicious! The environment in the cafe was very well-organized and lively but also very welcoming to the kpop fans who attended my events!
We were around the area so we decided to give it a try. Normally I always get the tea and lemon but with no sugar. However here they only can do 50% sweet.. I was told that they can't change the recipe. I wish I could tried it but it's ok. I orders their jasmine milk tea and grass jelly. Not much tea flavor but pretty milky. Service was just ok, you ask and she answer. That's it.
Nice 20% Yelp check-in deal! We were in the area with friends for Tasty Pot so we figured we'd stop by Mr. Sun. It was confusing when we went in because they were having some special event for a K-Pop singer. As a result, it was a bit difficult to find where to stand as we waited for our orders without getting in the way of people trying to get selfies with the teddy bear and bench. So their claim to fame is the homemade boba. You can actually see them making the boba when you order. I got a Golden Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea with 50% sweetness/ice. It tasted fine but I'm not a fan of the chewiness of the homemade boba. I guess you either like that chewiness or you don't. I'm not a fan. But I guess it is "healthier" than other bobas. Then again, if I wanted to be healthier, I probably need to cut boba drinks completely. :) But it was a good experience to try the place and see what homemade boba tastes like. Definitely worth checking out at least once.

A true testament "handcrafted boba" in their sign First time coming here and was introduced to Mr. Sun Tea via a surprise bag app. We got two Green Tea with Mango Boba and Black Tea with Boba in our surprise bag, and with the 100°F+ weather this summer, I have to say their drink has been so refreshing! Like most boba drinkers, I usually opt for a milk tea variant to enjoy but really glad they surprised us with their fresh tea in the surprise bag. Good break from the high-cal, sugar-loaded milk teas from other stores. Above all though, you can really tell their specialty is in their boba pearls. I personally like my boba really chewy and I would say they got the texture just right and awesome drink-to-boba ratio. One minor critique is on just one of the drinks we got, there was a little too much ice but all good!
Honestly, I'mma give this place a 5. I decided to try this place in Natomas after I had to go form the airport. It's not a franchise, but I like supporting small businesses. I tried the Mr. Sun Special, and it was sooo good. It's like a top 5 drink for me, and favorite strawberry based drink of all time. The boba is really good. Like the consistency and texture was just perfect. You can order thru a kiosk or at the register and drinks come out real fast. This is a hidden gem in Natomas.
I've been to Mr. Sun Tea a few times trying to find my favorite boba drink and I have finally found it. My favorite drink that I highly recommend is the Mr. Sun Strawberry w/ Strawberry Boba. This is part of their Mr. Sun Specialties. What's pretty cool is last time we were there we got to witness them making the boba and even got a selfie break with a cute bear! Highly recommend you check it out. They even have a tablet you can order from that shows photos, that has been pretty helpful for me.
The first time I went to Mr Sun Tea was in Cupertino. It was long line but worth the wait. They are popular because the boba is made in house. Discovered they opened one in Natomas. Came here on a rainy Saturday and it was pretty empty. There was one couple ahead of me and one person was manning the shop. I ordered the taro with fresh milk and earl gray milk tea with boba (50 % sweetness). The drinks were perfect and the boba had the right sweetness and qq. The place is clean and the drinks were made quickly. Will I come here again? Definitely
I'm so sad that this location closed the passion fruit green tea here is the best I've ever had. The owner is also super nice! This was my go to legitimately heartbroken I've lost my favorite boba shop

Driving from Sac airport back home to EG I decided to make a pit stop to check out a new boba spot in town. Several unique drinks on the menu, but I wasn't feeling wildly adventurous at the time and got the osmanthus oolong milk tea w/ brown sugar boba at 50% sweetness (shoutout to the cashier lady who asked for my sweetness level preference before I got the chance to spew it out lol). The osmanthus oolong tea in the drink was decent; I've had better elsewhere where the flavor of the osmanthus flowers stood out a bit more. Still pretty good here though. The brown sugar boba......the pearls had a gummier texture than what I'm used to, but I'm guessing that's the nature of them being supposedly handmade here. Not a dealbreaker. The sweetness of these pearls though were off the roof lol. Not only was the syrup surrounding the pearls really sweet but there were like pockets of syrup inside the pearls as well. I mean, I like the taste of brown sugar, but it's a little bit of an overkill here lol. If you're getting the brown sugar boba I strongly suggest taking the drink sweetness level down a notch from what you usually get. I'd take off a star for the brown sugar boba being overly sweet, but I think that's just purely preferential; I've found that many people like their boba milk tea very sweet lol. I'm more lenient in my rating when it comes to newly-opened businesses anyways. Overall not a place I'd regularly visit especially since it requires a bit of a commute for me from where I live, but I can see this becoming a go-to boba spot for Natomas folks (Natomians? Lol).
Small selection of smoothies and slushie [Natomas Sacramento CA] When at a boba shop I tend to go for a smoothie or a slushie. Unfortunately, they didn't have much to choose from in this form. With only a few to select from I opted for the Chocolate Cocoa Milk Smoothie w/ Pudding. I requested to change the topping to a brown sugar boba but their set menu did not allow it. Bummer. It came instead with some sort of a jelly type topping. Not sure if that was the "pudding" part of the drink. I preferred the chewiness of a boba. The chocolate smoothie was good and refreshing. It would've been perfect if I had the brown sugar boba topping. Service was good. My drink came fast. There was a few seating inside and a small section of the wall for iG photos. After hearing much hype about Mr. Sun's handcrafted boba, I had been greatly looking forward to a visit here. Sadly, my experience today wasn't great. I ordered the Three Brothers Milk Tea, which came out on the bland side with a less-than-average-sized portion of boba (which WAS tasty, though!). Also, upon checking in on Yelp and being excited to receive a 30% coupon, I was also disappointed to be told by the barista that the "coupon system was down" so they could not honor the offered discount. Also a minor detail, but it was quite hot inside the store...not sure if today was just an off day for Mr. Sun, but I was sad to be let down by it and hope to give it a second chance in the future. read more

This has got to be on my Top 3 boba places of Sacramento County! I came here again today and they never disappoint. You can tell that their boba is fresh! I'm fact they hand-make it themselves. I've watched them do it where they roll the boba (check out my video I took from last year). And the quality of the flavors taste authentic and not stale nor watered down. Today I ordered the Pineapple Black tea with honey boba and they also were serving something new that I had not seen before: chocolate chip cookies (see pic). I had to try one and overall, it's never crowded and service and ambiance is always positive. I have also been here to do some work and it's been a peaceful experience. There's ample tables and chairs and even outdoor seating. I wish they would the "Five Stars" point system so you can collect points for every purchase. They do have the card incentive where if you buy $10 or more you get to play the pinball table game and see what reward you will get but these expire within a month. Overall, this is a must try place in the Natomas area! I highly recommend. read more

Was searching for new boba place to try and came across this one, located in natomas area, pretty clean and cute. They had a bench with a huge bear in front , my baby boy was occupied by it while I was thinking on what to get. Staff were friendly and helpful. My order was good and tasty . Their boba is a bomb. Would recommend to give it a try , a lot of unique new flavors. read more
As soon as I saw Mr. Sun Tea had housemade boba, I knew it was going to be good! The only bad thing is that the location is super out of the way for us, but it tastes so good that I might have to drive out there just for a drink! Everything on the menu looked great, and it's so much harder to choose when you know you can't just drive down the road to come back again asap. I knew I needed something with flavored boba though so I got the strawberry boba milk tea, and my husband got the mango one. The milk tea itself was really good and not too sweet for getting standard 100% sweetness and ice. The boba was so fresh and you could taste the flavor really well. Service was great. They even let you play this little game to win a coupon for your next visit if you spend $10. Drinks came out quickly and I like the larger standard size of the cups. You can follow their Instagram and check out which flavor boba is on rotation. They also have a bunch of summer specials going on weekly. Get the Mr Sun Mango. That's all you need to know. It's basically a milky slushy drink with mango jam/syrup and mango boba. So good! I've had the strawberry version also, but the mango is better in my opinion. They also offer a variety of mixed drinks I've never seen at other places. For instance, oatmeal as a topping. And a drink with nonalcoholic beer! Their boba is house made, so you can taste the quality! Perfectly chewy. The employees were all friendly. Clean interior. Didn't have to wait long for the drinks. I appreciated their grand opening specials as well. read more
We stopped by Mr. Sun Tea after seeing them pop up on Yelp as a new business. I'm a big fan of bubble tea and I love that they make different flavors of boba for their drinks. When we arrived we immediately saw an ordering kiosk to our left- you can absolutely use this but we learned after ordering that they can also take your order at the register- this is the better choice because they will let you sample different teas and they have a Yelp Check In Offer for 20% off one drink! (as of 5/17/22) There is also a fun gumball machine you can use if you spend $10+ for a random prize. You could get money off a drink, BOGO, free toppings and more. It's a fun rewards system and I bet kids would absolutely love it as part of their bubble tea experience. The drinks are split up into categories depending on what type they are and what toppings they have but you can customize everything, including sweetness and ice in your drink. I ordered the Rainbow Boba Milk Tea with 100% sweetness and 25% ice and a Passionfruit Green Tea w/ boba and coconut jelly with 100% sweetness and 25% ice. Both were delicious and the Rainbow Milk Tea tasted like cereal milk in a great way. The different flavored boba were chewy and sweet and it was fun to try the different flavors. I'll definitely be back to try different drinks soon! read more
Fun new boba place in town! Very much needed because there aren't many boba places near me in Natomas. There used to be a basic tapioca express here before years ago. This new place has a trendy, cute and colorful vibe. I saw a couple here on a date. I opted for the brown sugar boba (which is the basic black milk tea boba) with 50% sweetness, and that was perfect. You can adjust the sweet level and ice level to your liking and pick from a variety of toppings. There's a few different flavors that were on sale this month. I wasn't daring enough to try that out yet, but maybe next time! :) read more
OK drinks place For some reason this place doesn't serve food snacks. No popcorn chicken, no fries, no fish balls, nothing. If you want snacks, you have to go to T4. Seems kind of pointless The drinks are kind of experience, at $6 to $7 a drink. The drinks taste ok. The rainbow 3 tapioca drink is really good, but the green tea Heineken taste really bad. I think I will stick with just getting Heineken from Safeway. The rainbow tapioca drink is really tasty though, would go back for more. Serve staff are all very friendly. They make the drinks pretty fast. The interior is all newly renovated and very bright and clean. Overall an OK place to go grab a drink! read more
I heard this was new boba spot in Natomas so had to check it out. Location is convenient, good customer service, the girl at the register took time to answer questions. It's a spacious cafe with enough sitting. I got Hazelnut milk tea which was supposedly one of famous drinks on the menu and I also tried the taro fresh milk. The hazelnut milk tea was good that had that nice flavor and strong tea base. Taro fresh milk was okay. Customer service was very pleasant. Will try other milk tea series in future. read more

The drinks here are really good but the star is really the boba/toppings. They have made in house rotating flavored boba specials ranging from black sesame boba to kiwi boba and even a rare passion fruit tapioca topping. All of that being said, my go to is the milk tea with strawberry or mango boba. The milk tea is just right in flavor ( a bit on the sweeter side though) and it being paired with a fruity boba is just right. I would highly recommend trying the milk tea with a flavored boba if it is your first visit, though they are also known for their specialty drinks that include non-alcoholic Heineken. Pro tip, If you spend more than $10, ask to play the game for a chance to win coupons towards a future purchase! read more
Been to this location a few times now. Service here is lacking even when there are no other customers in the store which is surprising???? The first time I came in the worker told us we can order at the kiosk or at the register but she disappeared for a while so we opted for the kiosk. There was a soft opening seal but we couldn't redeem it on the kiosk either? We were kinda on a time crunch and wanted to put our drink order in ASAP so it's ok I guess. I had Mr Sun twice at the Cupertino location and LOVED their strawberry boba. When I got it the first time it was still kinda hard :( the other time I came back it was much better! So it can be a hit or a miss. They don't allow sweetness adjustments or swapping out their special boba flavors for a different topping which kinda sucks. I'll prob be back if I'm in the area and going to/from the airport. read more

We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. There was a 20% off one drink coupon on yelp check in. They had signs that they were out of taro. I ordered the grass jelly milk tea. They were able to adjust it to 0% sugar. Drink was ok for $5. read more

The service here is not good. The staff is like so mad , she doesn't want to work. No smile at all, and the tone of voice is so angry. After a long day at work and I just stop by to get boba and now i feel even worse. I dont even have a feel to taste the milk tea... read more

I enjoy this boba shop. The tea tastes like tea and not that powder stuff. The boba is fresh and the service is fast. If you buy over a certain amount, you get to draw for a prize. I'm from the bay so I already love Mr. Sun Tea. I'm excited that they have a Sacramento location now! The boba is very well crafted - you won't find any other place with boba like it! Pictured are two of my favorite things to order. If you like a very floral tea try the Osmanthus Oolong with Strawberry Boba as a topping. My regular order is the mango boba milk tea, which is just regular black milk tea but the mango boba makes it so fun. Both are lactose intolerance friendly as they use nondairy creamer. The lattes and the fresh milk teas I steer clear from personally because those are the ones with dairy. Highly recommend! Great boba and super friendly staff. Bring a friend or a date because if you spend $10 you can play a kacchan game and get some good deals- I just won 50% off a second boba! read more
This place is one of the best boba drink shops in the Sacramento area! Nice variety of drinks. The boba is perfect. No mushy or over cooked boba. They also make their own boba. Offers homemade boba in different flavors. Nice staff. Clean store and plenty of parking. read more

Plenty of parking in the shared lot. Clean interior. Indoor seating with mostly small tables close together. There is some seating outside that anyone can use. Not many customers in the late afternoon. I arrived just as a large group left, so it was relatively quiet. One self-ordering kiosk or the staff can take your order. The contactless function at the kiosk isn't working, so you do have to swipe or insert your card. I placed my order using the kiosk, but two customers that ordered at the front counter got their drinks before me. Only one staff member making drinks and the other making boba. Around a 5-10 minute wait for two drink order. There is only one drink size. I ordered the mango green tea and strawberry oolong tea with 50/50 sweetness and ice. The mango green tea was okay but a little too sweet for my liking. It was my first time trying oolong tea - something about the taste made it hard to swallow, which may mean oolong is just not for me and not that the drink itself is bad. If I were in the area again, I'd try some of their other drinks. read more
YESSSSS. Finally a place that gets the sweetness right at 100% sweetness. Even their 100% ice level is spot on. The workers here are friendly and helpful when you step up to order and they make the drinks pretty quickly. The place is a little on the small side but I usually take my drinks to go anyway. Plenty of parking is available as it is in a large plaza. I tried their brown sugar boba milk tea (a classic!) and it's my go-go every time I come here. I definitely recommend this place! read more
