Delicious drinks and convenient location. Mr. Sun Tea in Natomas is a well-known boba tea bar. I have the Mango Mango Boba. It is lots of mango favors, and the boba is very fresh in my drink. They advertised they wouldn't keep the boba for longer than four hours. That's why their boba is so good. I hope Mr. Sun Tea will expand to more locations. One of my favorite boba shops in Sacramento. The best thing about Mr Sun Tea is that their boba is all freshly made in front of you. Mr Sun Mango is my go to order. It's a creamy/milky slush drink with mango boba and mango syrup. The boba is really tasty and flavorful but I think the drink could be a little get better (maybe add more mango flavoring?). Been here twice and it's been my new fav boba spot. When you walk in the decoration to your right is super cute, they have a big teddy bear and a wall of balloon decor. When you get to the back there's a self order kiosk or you can order at the register. They also have a big human size menu by the front door so you can see and also on the tv screens by the register. They have a variety of drinks but I only wanted to try this place because a friend had recommended it to me. He told me the flavored bobas are to die for. I will tell you that it did not disappoint. I got the Mr. Sun Special with the strawberry boba and my boyfriend got brown sugar boba milk tea. I am obsessed with the strawberry boba it was amazing. The only thing I did wish was the strawberry purée around the cup had more because at the end it mostly tasted like sweet milk with strawberry boba. The regular boba is also great! The second time I went back, I had to try the mango boba and it tasted great as well. I think I prefer the strawberry boba over the mango, for some reason the mango flavor didn't pull through as strong as the strawberry did. But amazing great tasting boba place! I'm so happy we have a new boba place in Natomas! Mr. Sun replaces the Quicklys that used to be here. My friend was raving about this place so I was really curious and finally had a chance to go. We ordered 5 drinks and the bobaristas were very quick and nice. We did not have to wait long for our drinks to be ready. Since our order was over $10, we also got to play a little mini game with different prizes. We won a free boba topping for next time. Our drinks were overall pretty good. For mine, I tried the popular Mr. Sun Mango. Unfortunately, I was not able to adjust the sweetness and ice, and it was too sweet for me (my own preference. I typically get 50% sugar at boba spots to give you an idea). I added some milk at home to my drink and then it hit the spot. Next time, I'll have to order a drink that I can adjust the sweetness. The mango boba had an interesting chewy texture and I liked that it was fresh and handcrafted. My family mentioned the kiwi smoothie tasted healthy. I was really pleasantly surprised by the Earl Gray Milk tea. The flavor was really comforting! I like bitter tea at home, and this was a nice balanced flavor. It wasn't overly milky and I could taste the tea. Usually I get my drinks 50%, but 75% here was okay, it's sweet but not unbearably sweet (to me). bf said he liked his hot/warm hazelnut milk tea on the cold day we went. They give good hot portions (the regular place we like for hot milk tea gives us half of this). I recommend both!! Now, the boba. It's housemade and the texture almost reminds me of when I eat taro balls from dessert places like Meet Fresh/ mochi-like. It's not bad, but it's not the typical round black boba balls texture, so keep that in mind. The nice worker at the counter said the default black tea they use is earl gray, so when I ordered the earl gray milk tea with golden boba it just defaulted as a golden brown sugar milk tea (bc the milk tea is earl gray). If you spend $10 you can roll their gacha gumball machine for a discount deal. We got buy 2 get one free! :) Love the idea of the gumball machine. Finally a good milk tea spot around Sacramento! It's in Natomas, but still. I'm willing to drive there just to get some milk tea. I worked in the plaza before, so I've been waiting a couple months for this spot to open. I can't remember what my friend ordered, but personally, I would recommend the oolong milk tea and the peach green tea. They were both super refreshing and yummy. I came here on a friday night before closing (arrived at 7:30pm). There were 2 girls waiting for their drinks in there. By the time I left, there were like 4 different parties waiting for drinks. I guess people all want their boba fix right before closing! Anyways, there's a kiosk right when you walk in the door (to the left) where you can digitally put in your order. I, and most other people, ordered at the counter because I had some questions. The worker was very friendly and answered all my questions. Also (as of 5/21/22) they have 20% off if you check in on yelp!!! so be sure to do that. I ended up ordered the passion fruit green tea with boba and lychee jelly (included). It was very good. I got it at 25% sweet and I liked it a lot - and it was still sweet enough for me. It also had fresh passion fruit seeds so you know it's real. What also separates this place from others is that they make their own boba in-shop. They let you try samples too. I sampled the mango boba and it was really good! Even the normal boba was good (and usually I don't order boba but it's starting to grow on me again..). There are about 3 tables for seating. My only slight issue is that it took a little while to get our drinks (2). It took maybe like 10-15 mins, which I feel like it longer than usual, for a boba shop, but I know they're in soft-opening mode so I'm sure they're still getting used to things :) There's a lot of parking altho the spaces are a little narrow. Uniqueness is something that I always look for whenever I try new boba shops opening. What differs this boba shop from the rest is that they hand-make not only the regular brown sugar boba, but the flavored bobas as well ! (Strawberry & Mango) . The drink that I got was the brown sugar boba milk tea and it was honestly delicious! One critique is that there is a little remaining foam at top from the tea being shaken (but they are still very new and I watched them scoop some of the foam on other drinks) . The boba does not feel hard , probably because they hand make their own boba ! Its really fun to watch them hand-make their boba , this has its own station where customers like me are able to see them showcase their skills and professionalism! The customer service was really nice and professional as well! They made the drink fairly quickly and was able to call out the order clear and loud. The drinks here are fantastic! Very flavorful and fresh. Also, they aren't kidding about the handmade boba, and you can really taste it. This place has some of the best boba pearls I have probably ever had. Very chewy and flavorful and not crunchy like the cheap pearls. I'm a fan of their menu which contains not only the usual types of drinks you'd see in a typical boba shop, but they have their own special drinks as well. Ordering takes a while if there is a line, since there is only one register and if you order above $10, you can play this gumball machine for a random coupon prize that is good for a month (BOGO, buy two get one free, 10% off, etc.) Some drinks you can't adjust sweetness or the topping but you can for most, I personally like the tea taste more so half sugar or 25% really did taste like less sugar, unlike other boba joints where half sugar sometimes taste like full still. Also they make their boba! You can watch them make it but I went during early evening so obviously they were done making boba for the day, but definitely cool to see how it's made. I sent my daughter in to Mr Sun to grab our usual drinks, specifically the panda milk tea with brown sugar boba and crystal boba. Usually, we order at the counter, but this time, she used the kiosk because I gave her the credit card. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. When my daughter received her drink, she discovered they had made a mistake. Instead of the anticipated brown sugar boba and crystal boba, they had put brown sugar boba and coconut jelly. A simple fix, right? She went back in to get it corrected, but the lady behind the counter insisted we had ordered it that way, yet offered to add crystal boba regardless. It made no sense to us--how does adding the correct topping to an incorrect drink solve the problem? We simply wanted the Panda Milk Tea as it is supposed to be. Disappointingly, instead of rectifying the mistake, the employee decided to add crystal boba to the already incorrect drink. Regardless of whose error it was, it shouldn't have been so difficult to remake the drink the way it was intended, right? Upon hearing about the misguided attempt at a fix, I had to step in. I requested that they remake the drink, but the employee seemed annoyed by my request. Despite her attitude, she eventually remade the drink. However, the customer service left much to be desired. The drink was placed on the counter with an evident attitude, the straw was tossed carelessly, and the incorrect drink was snatched away without any acknowledgment. It's disheartening when simple miscommunications and mistakes lead to such unnecessary hassle. Mr Sun needs to improve their communication and customer service to ensure a smoother experience for their patrons. We 'were' frequent patrons of the establishment but no longer... We did enjoy the drinks but there's plenty of other options with better service in the area. read more

I have not been to this Natomas plaza in years and to find out the previous establishment (Quickly's) was gone was a suprise! Inside was pretty much the same layout, pretty spacious and service was quick and great. As for the drinks: I had ordered a Too Good To Go bag and didn't expect much but like other reviews, I got three drinks total. For around $6.50 that's a good deal (to me). *All teas are sweetened a little. Probably around the 75% mark, I'm guessing. Oolong tea with boba: 5/10, this tea had a weird floral taste to it. Usually I get a oolong milk tea so I am not sure if it is because it has no milk but it was a strange aftertaste. Not for me. Black tea with boba: 8/10, pretty good. Average black tea, nothing special. Green tea with "rainbow" boba: 8.5/10, not sure why it was called rainbow boba as the boba was...clear but the tea was good. Average green tea as well. I also ordered one more item: a mango smoothie with crystal boba. I had arrived late so I am unsure if this was just a timing issue but the barista said they couldn't remove the crystal boba. Not that big of a deal but I personally am not a fan of crystal boba in general (it's a texture thing) but it was whatever. The drink itself was delicious, it tasted like real, non-artificial mango. Love that they make their own boba here and thus they have a variety of boba flavors. The boba itself has a slightly different, maybe chewier, texture so it may take a while to adjust to that. Overall, the drinks are a bit confusing for me. The menu has interesting drink names but it's hard to tell what you're going to get. I am usually a milk tea fan but I'm not the biggest fan of their particular milk tea. My favorites from here so far are the fruit teas. I like this place because it's different, but it's not necessarily my favorite place. Lastly, one negative thing is that there is a very long turnaround time for drinks.
