I have been craving sushi for a week now. ok...not just sushi, but MUSE Fusion+Sushi and specifically the Crunchy Crunch roll (kanikama mix, avocado, crunchy, unagi sauce). The roll was so tasty...the rice soft yet firm, crab mix flavorful and avocado the perfect balance. I got a "to-go" order and it was ready in about 10 minutes. The restaurant was full of customers...families, soccer player group and other folks just chilling and eating sushi.

Even though this spot is a bit south for me, Muse is totally worth the drive and is my go-to sushi place when I'm in the area. I love the fast-casual vibe, and the rolls are consistently solid. They also have bento boxes, ramen, refreshers, and sandos, which is a nice bonus. Even though it's casual, the sushi quality really holds up; especially the specialty rolls. They're huge, and two rolls were more than enough to share between me and a friend. I also love the cucumber roll too which is so refreshing in the summer time. On Tuesdays they have a great deal where you can get two rolls and an appetizer for $25. I honestly wish they had a location in North Austin because I'd be there all the time.

Basic American sushi spot - nothing to write home about. I don't recommend getting the tuna sando - waaayyy too much sauce and texture was weird. The crawdaddy roll is good. Ube strawberry Sando was fire. Loved the texture of the bread, could be improved with more strawberries throughout

Rating: 3.4/5 [dine in] You can order at the counter or directly from your table online, which is convenient. The setup inside is simple, and both food and drinks came out quickly. Love Potion Refresher ($8): Super refreshing on a hot day. It's not overly sweet and has strawberry and mango bits that add a nice texture. The hint of lime gives it a pleasant tartness. Bird's Nest ($15): Two baked avocado halves topped with kanikama mix, unagi sauce, spicy mayo, and sesame seeds. This was hands down my favorite dish--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken ($10): The chicken was cooked fine, but the Taiwanese flavors didn't really come through. It was served with a side of house buttermilk ranch, which didn't pair well. Chili powder would've been a better match, and if they wanted to stay true to Taiwanese style, adding fried basil would've elevated the dish. Viet Smoked Wings ($14): Five post oak-smoked wings tossed in a Vietnamese "sticky icky" sauce, served with blue ranch and pickled cauliflower. The wings were dry, and the sauce wasn't sticky or caramelized enough to bring out its flavor--or even cling to the wings. The blue ranch had a blue cheese flavor and some chunky bits that resembled cottage cheese--an odd choice. The pickled cauliflower, however, was nicely done and lightly pickled. Happy Roll ($18): Includes nori, BBQ eel, cucumber, kanikama mix, salmon, lemon, unagi sauce, crunchy bits, masago, sriracha, scallions, and sesame seeds. It was just okay. The texture leaned too slimy for my taste, and it lacked distinct flavors.

Value + Quality = 5 Stars--Definitely a hidden gem in 78704! We recently discovered Muse. I always crave good sushi, and Muse has consistently delivered. I've been delighted every time I have eaten at Muse.

We decided to try Muse because I was craving sushi. The food was very delicious! You can either order at the counter or at the table. I like the fusion sushi but will probably order take out next time. The restaurant feels sterile.

Tried the sushi and the strawberry fried sando. The sushi was solid - fresh and enjoyable, but nothing that really stood out. The overall vibe of the place feels more like everyday comfort food than a special destination meal, which isn't a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. The fried sando, though, was a miss for me -it tasted overly oily and threw off the balance of the whole dish.

I've been wondering why I hadn't tried Muse before, and now I know why... what a letdown! For those wanting more authentic and quality worthy sushi, I wouldn't hold my breath. Muse leans more towards American-styled sushi aka sushi drenched in various sauces and toppings. You can order at the counter or at your table via QR code (if you don't like feeling rushed, I'd recommend ordering at a table). Outside of sushi, the menu is a hodge podge of fast food Asian dishes ie: sandos, popcorn chicken, chicken wings, and noodles. It just wasn't my vibe...

Ordered take out with their 2 for 25 special x 2 and was ready in less than 20 mins. Definitely worth checking out with that alone. Lots of unique roll options! Also added their desserts, which were surprisingly light with a good crunch factor with the fried bread. Cute little fast casual spot where you order by QR code at the tables. Lots of parking too.

Waited 30 mins for appetizer. You HAVE to tip even before the service is provided, which is truly annoying. After we got our main dish( seafood ramen) we realized it was flaming spicy. No, it was not advertised as spicy. So, we sent it back. All in all, it took roughly an hour to get our main dish. Our server was nice though. This, the 2 star review. Food is, as easily described, MEH. Food not worth it.

Muse is a lovely spot for sushi and other Japanese classics. We got a bunch of sushi rolls to share and also enjoyed their new Japanese dessert sandos. They have 2 for $25 rolls on Tuesday so I will need to return for that! Plenty of parking in their shared plaza lot.

It's pretty much open seating, and you can either go up to the counter to order, or order on your phone using the QR code at your table. I've gone 3 times now and will definitely continue to come back. They are so quick with the food, and everything tastes phenomenal! The last time I went with some friends we got the shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna, crunchy crunch, and happy roll. More than enough to share, and extremely well priced for how filling it is. My favorite was the happy roll because the salmon tasted so fresh and blended well with everything. The other rolls were just as delicious and I'm sure if we had tried other stuff on the menu it would've been the same. I always get one of the edamame choices as well, and it never misses. They also had the new sandos when I last went, and we had the crème brûlée one for dessert. 100% recommend getting dessert there! It was so creamy and not too sweet, although if you're not a fan of fried desserts then you might want to share this one (or skip it). Overall, this has to be my favorite sushi spot in Austin!

Very cool little spot. The food is very good. Which is pretty much the most important thing about any restaurant. It's good, clean, modern. Perhaps too modern. You can order from your smart phone and they don't accept cash. It feels a little uninviting to anyone who might not hold a fresh tech degree or Is over the age of 25. Also it carry's a generic vibe equipped with really bad tween style techno music playing too loudly I might add. It feels like they're trying to be trendy or cool. I think as long as anyone's trying to do that they will not succeed. Austin has a rich historic culture - I'd like to see it honored a bit more in small businesses like this one. Inside "Muse Fusion Sushi" you could close your eyes and be anywhere in the suburbs in the US. Not a lot of character here. My final take - it will do you well, in a pinch, or for takeout. But a dining destination this is not. read more

It's great to see new sushi places pop up in south Austin! Is it just me or is there a scarcity in this area. MUSE is a great spot for good sushi and other eats. I've had a chance to try several of their rolls and have never been disappointed. I'm a big fan of the OMG. I could likely have a couple of these in one sitting, but I tried to hold back a little bit there to try a number of things on their menu. Their noodle dishes have been good too, but I'd say sushi is the must have here. The service is always fast whether you dine in or pick up and the staff is consistently friendly and quick. I dined in once and had a pretty good time there. It's a calm and casual environment that draws in a good crowd any day of the week from what I've seen. Please support Asian food in south Austin to get more of it! read more

I don't understand how this place is so highly rated on Yelp-- I don't think this is a real restaurant, I think it's a front for a 'ghost kitchen'. Food, service, ambiance/cleanliness were all disappointments. Right from when we walked in, we were only greeted by signs directing us to seat ourselves and use our phones to order. We were ignored by the staff, all of whom seemed to be working behind the counter in food prep. Our table was set with dirty napkins and sticky condiment bottles. Finally, the menu is just 20 different variations of either a California roll or a shrimp tempura roll, which were smothered in mayonnaise and crispy onions when they arrived at our table. We ordered 4 because we were hopeful that the food was the reason for such high ratings, but couldn't finish more than half of it. Save yourself some money and just get the sushi at HEB. read more

I got this to-go via DoorDash and Oh my gosh this sushi was disgusting. I got two bento boxes and the food I received was barely edible. The salmon had a weird fishy scent, the rice was dry and hard, and the vegetables were completely flavorless. Save your money and go someplace else. read more

Walked up to the counter and employees didn't speak to me at all, not even a hello. My husband noticed a QR code on tables so we ordered directly from the website. Would have been more helpful if employees at the counter actually took our order or simply said "please order from table". Sushi and appetizers tasted decent. Nigiri was a little pricey for the quality and size. Menu was crab and shrimp heavy. Would prefer to see more rolls with a variety of fish. Restaurant was clean. High chairs are available. Won't be returning due to the lack of sushi variety and customer service. read more

I picked up some to go sushi after hearing lots of good things from clients and friends. They had it done fast and it was pretty good! I ordered 3 rolls and 4 pieces of sushi and everything came out the way I ordered it. I wish they had included more soy sauce in the bag, we didn't have enough. This is one of the best value sushi spots. The ATX salad was delicious with the cucumber and apples. The M10 roll and the dragon roll with escolar were also quite delicious and the fish is very fresh and soft. It's not an extensive sushi menu but the rolls and food were quite good. The tiger milk boba was also really good. read more

Before you waste your money here, I can assure you HEB has better sushi. Extremely over priced and they charge you for every little thing. I have been here twice and the only thing I would come back for are the drinks. The service is somewhat of a fast food service you order, pay and then they bring your food out to you, Even water is self serve. There seems to be a dozen people behind the counter but the place is small and no one actually waits on you or does anything worth tipping. We order from MUSE almost 1-2 a month; we call it our lazy girl dinner haha. It's super quick, reliably good and pretty healthy! The fried rice here is some of the best fried rice I've ever had .. random I know.. but it really is. The rice is cooked perfectly and the meat (usually get chicken and steak) is very flavorful. There's been days I wake up craving the fried rice from muse :D. The sushi is good and fresh , cut a little large making it hard to eat in one bite, but some people prefer that.. also the drinks and teas they have are very refreshing! Saw this place on door dash so I decided to give it a try. To my surprise everything I ordered was absolutely delicious! The OMG roll literally makes you say omg because it's so good! Orgasmic melts in your mouth bomb.com. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here and the best part is it's affordable. I'm not sure what the place looks like since I've only ordered through door dash or I have my bf pick it up but I'm sure the place looks nice. He mentioned the spot being intimate. I imagine the the ambiance as chill and casual. read more

I love this place. It's quality sushi at a reasonable price and also super convenient. It's a MODERN take on sushi, so don't expect rolls that you can get at uchi. Definitely more approachable for people who are still "new" to sushi. My favorite sushi roll, which I get every time, is the Dragon Roll with escolar. All of the rolls I've tried so far have been delicious. Even their nigiri is pretty good quality IMO. But I love coming here when I'm craving sushi but don't want my dinner to take more than an hour. read more

The service was friendly & helpful. The food was fresh & delicious. The miso soup was probably the best we have ever had. Miso soup is usually very bland but at Muse it has great flavor. The edamame with garlic sauce is outstanding. We went overboard ordered the sushi rolls but they were so good we ate almost all of them. The Crunchy Crunch is the best!! It will be the only place we will go from now on for sushi & the extras. read more

Solid "fast casual" sushi! My husband and I visited twice in one week. The only reason that I am giving 4 stars is due to the slow service. For presenting themselves as fast casual, I would have expected food to take less than 10-15 mins. I also had to wait 5 mins past the expected pick up time when I ordered online. I am chalking it up to being newly opened. I am rooting for them and hope that they work out any issues. read more

I ordered delivery tonight and I really enjoyed my meal! I got the shrimp tempura roll, the tempura roll, and potstickers. I think my favorite thing was the potstickers, they were really delicious. The price points for the sushi were very reasonable and affordable and great quality as well. I will definitely be ordering again! read more

The food was so good! As you can see we devoured everything! We had the tempura sushi so so good. The service though was not. The girl with the green hair was really rude. When we got here we said hi and she didn't say anything. We would say thank you and she wouldn't respond. And she looked annoyed when we wanted to order she told us to order through online. And when we got here all the tables were dirty. They were never clean even when we left they were still dirty. And we were the only ones in the restaurant! It was empty. Maybe a few people getting to go but it's slow and still dirty. read more

I honestly love this place, it's our go to for sushi and Boba. My kids love the Boba here. My husband and I finished up some Christmas shopping at Target and decided we would surprise the kids with some Boba, we did notice we had 10 minutes till closing time but figured since it was just for drinks, we would be okay. We walked in and asked if it was too late to get drinks? The two girls just stared at us and laughed. My husband than said if it's too late you can say that but it's still 10 minutes till closing, she replied with were closing soon. I thought that was incredibly rude the store was not closed, yet they refused to serve us due to wanting to get out of work. read more

I liked this place ALOT but I have to knock it down a star because of the price. We got four rolls, edamame and two non alcoholic drinks - $100 including tip and that's a bit wild for a fast casual place, even if it is sushi. But the food - delicious. Great take on rolls and the teas were also delicious. Love that you can order at counter or at the table. Sushi was fresh and fast! read more

This place is the bomb for high quality rolls at a reasonable price. Their service is quick & friendly, I prefer to order at the front rather than the QR code. My favorite roll is the Happy Roll (fresh salmon, eel, avocado, citrus, masago etc.) it's honestly perfect and I hope they never take it off the menu! I've been to all the top sushi spots in Atx and this salmon roll is honestly better than most of the best high end places rolls for almost half the price. My 2nd favorite item is the Rock n Roll roll, it's super delicious as well. Parking is a breeze here and the food is consistently good. Good job Muse, glad this place opened! read more

We have returned to Muse a couple of times since the review and unfortunately it hasn't lived up to the initial experience. Everything about it just seemed off - even some of the same dishes that we loved on our first visit were just mediocre on our subsequent visits. read more

Just had an amazing experience at MUSE! The sushi was fresh and flavorful. I tried the spicy tuna roll and the salmon sashimi, both were outstanding. I've also tried the bento boxes great price for amount and quality of food. What really made the visit special was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Our server, was super helpful with recommendations and always had a smile.
