I think the food here is great. I wish the fresh rolls came with peanut sauce but the fried rolls were yummy! Our server was extremely attentive and friendly! He brought out a candle for my husband's birthday which was sweet! I love their fried rice and pad Thai the most. I went to this place with my three grandkids during their summer holidays. We ordered Siam Spring Rolls as a starter, followed by Pad Thai Noodles, Ruby Curry, and Heavenly Combo Wok Rice as our main courses, along with three lemonades and one iced tea. Pros: The Spring Rolls were excellent, and the Pad Thai Noodles were good. However, the chicken in the Wok Rice was slightly burnt. Overall, the food was satisfying, and I'd rate it 4/5. Cons: The bill totaled $87; I paid $100 in cash (using $20s and $5s). Typically, the waiter would take the money to the register to count it, but here, the waiter counted it right at our table, which felt awkward. He counted it twice, muttered something in another language, and left. I didn't calculate a specific tip; I just rounded $87 to $100. My grandson used his phone and told me a 20% tip would have been $105, which might explain why the waiter seemed upset. Nevertheless, counting the money at our table, that too twice, wasn't appropriate. The owner should advice the waiters not to do this. read more

Neat building. It gets super chaotic. Portions are okay, not the best value IMO. Prime location though and they get easily overrun, so I'd definitely avoid it on weekends. When I say chaotic, I mean it's the kind of place that if you ever worked in the service industry, you feel bad for the wait staff whenever you catch a glimpse of how they run things. Great local Thai restaurant in Culver City! I called in to place an order for pick up around 3 pm and was told my order would be ready in 25 mins. I drove over and snagged a parking spot in their private lot. The sign on their back entrance said they were closed but I was customers exit through the same door so I'm guessing they forgot to flip the sign that morning. The inside of the restaurant is quite large and airy, with lofted ceilings and even some skylights overhead. There were quite a few parties dining and I saw a few empty tables that needed to be cleaned. I took that as a good sign that they are busy even on a Wednesday at 3 pm. Before I walked away, I asked if there was chili and soy sauce inside and the cashier said yes. I got home and was disappointed to find that he gave me 1 packet each of soy sauce and chili for two entrees. Please be less stingy next time after I spent $42 for two take-out entrees, before tip. Pad Thai with shrimp: This was the best Pad Thai I had on the west side. It's a compliment because the other ones I've tried from local restaurants were awful. I did find that the flavor was toned down, I think to appease the West LA palate that may not be used to the strong flavors of fish sauce and tamarind that are usually found in this dish. I think the noodles were almost overcooked, perhaps because it was packaged to-go and continued to steam under a lid. I wish the overall flavor were tangier and more pungent and that they were more generous with the peanuts. However, I would get this dish again if I had a craving for Pad Thai and couldn't make it out to Thai Town. Pad See Ew with Pork: The pork dry and lacking in flavor. I should have gotten tofu instead. The noodles, however, were cooked to perfection compared to the Pad Thai. I liked the flavor of Thai dish, though I found it a little bit too sweet towards the end of my meal. I'd get this dish again when I'm craving pan-fried noodles but would pass on the pork. I'll be back to try the papaya salad, curry, tom yum, and sticky rice. I have a feeling they'll be better than the other Thai offerings in the area, and just good enough to satisfy my craving for Thai cuisine. read more

I've eaten here a number of times. Always thought the food was fine, but the portions were smaller than other restaurants. The last time was okay, but the time before that was definitely not. I ordered my food and could then smell burning coming from their kitchen (it's an open design). Clearly, something was burning, but it wasn't my concern So I ignored it and kept talking to my date. My food came, I took one bite of it, and realized IT HAD BEEN MY FOOD THAT WAS BURNING AND THEY STILL SERVED IT TO ME!! Now I've worked in various trades before and that includes a restaurant. They should NOT have served me anything from a pan that had burnt food in it because the smoke destroys everything (think of a house fire). I had ordered peanut sauce as well and decided to use that to try and mask the taste. I didn't want to send it back because, honestly, I dont trust workers won't take revenge on customer's returned food. But, hey, that is my paranoia. I had felt this place was 50/50 before, but now I definitely think it's an over priced Thai restaurant. Natalee Thai is a great place to come to when you're craving tasty comfort food such as this. I really like how they make their spicy monsoon noodles it's the best! It's packed with flavor, and the noodles aren't too greasy. You also can't go wrong with their egg rolls as an appetizer. Most Thai places give you frozen pre made tasting rolls but that isn't the case here. When I'm ordering soup I typically order either Tum Yum chicken or Tum Yum Kha (same thing-just made with coconut base). Both are super delicious! Even my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Heavenly fried rice - very tasty and includes shrimp, beef, and chicken. What a deal! Great portion size. Chicken pad Thai - noodles were nice and chewy and the sauce was plentiful! But the highlight: Beef Panang Curry - this was real beef slices and not just little pieces. Curry was very flavorful and rich. I haven't had a panang curry this good actually. Thai spot with modern decor. Came here with a couple of other friends for dinner around 8pm on a Tuesday evening and we got seated immediately. We split an appetizer and a couple of dishes and we had leftovers. They do have vegetarian options. The sampler platter had a couple of veggie spring rolls as well as some salad. We got Pad Thai with chicken, massaman beef curry, and the Natalee fried rice with chicken. The curry doesn't come with rice, so we got sticky rice on the side well. I wanted to like the food here but for a vegetarian, this place is a miss. They have a really large menu and good portion sizes. They even have a vegetarian section. But upon ordering, we were told all curry dishes have fish sauce and most of the others have osyter sauce too. So, none of the veg dishes are actually vegetarian. They don't modify too much either so if you remove these sauces, they won't add others for you. Not the best experience. read more

Absolutely amazing food and I've been thinking about it ever since. I wanted to drink so many of those ice teas but I couldn't even finish the first one. I wish they had different options for the cream. The music was nice and the place was clean. The server was super attentive and professional. We had questions ( we had a picky eater with us ) about them menu and he had answers and suggestions. It wasn't very busy which I am very surprised because the service and the food was A1. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. The portions were pretty large for that chicken and rib lunch special. We saw so many people ordering it, must be a popular menu item. Started first going to Natalee Thai over 25 years ago, when I used to work in Culver City. It has been over 16 years since my last visit. I took my wife and three kids for lunch, it is there first visit. The food is as good as I remember it and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
