We're not in Long Beach often, but were in the area and was looking for some good food. We had our puppy with us so we sat at a table outside. I ordered a grilled pork sandwich that cucumbers, pickled carrots, cilantro, and something called darken. It was a tasty sandwich...also, I had popcorn chicken that were flavorful and not to crispy but tender that came with this mild green sauce. I also added a strawberry lemonade that will quench your thirst. Thanks to the nice young lady that help me out with the order. Stopped in for lunch and ordered the grilled pork (not called banh mi) sandwich. It looked and tasted like a banh mi and it was delicious!! Only thing missing was jalapeños on the sandwich.... Bread was soft, so it doesn't wreck the roof of your mouth! Sandwich was a decent size. The green sauce on the side was also very flavorful. I will definitely be back! I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken and Cajun garlic fries on the side. They both had almost no flavor, I couldn't taste garlic on either of them and the fries and pasta were both just greasy. The fries were kind of soggy but it could be because we picked it up instead of eating it right away. The service was good because I ordered online and when I picked it up the cashier was friendly. I ordered late-night takeout after driving by this spot a few weeks ago. First up, the bulgogi short rib steak sandwich. The meat was so juicy and flavorful, with soft bread holding it together. The usual banh-mi fixings were the cherry on top. Next, we tried the golden bao -- this was a whim addition, but damn! So glad we got them, the outer crust was lightly crispy with a satisfying crunch, the pork filling was savory and moist, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. The grilled chicken bowl was what we expected -- a deliciously standard balanced meal with veggies & rice, very tasty with the generously provided sauces, but would probably skip next time to order multiple bulgogi sandwiches!! I enjoyed the freshness and crunch of cucumber, pickled (?) carrots of salad that came with the bowl, great dressing on the side, meat had good flavor with sweet savory sauce on the side as well. Hubby devoured the sandwich so it must be good. We also tried their strawberry lemonade and peach lychee drink to quench the thirst. The staff is very friendly, greeted the customers with big smiles. Sandwich is right on the dot! Really like the grilled pork and the bread is perfectly toasted....I am picky with sandwiches because I only like hot sandwiches that are freshly made... and this is very flavorful! My mom really likes her rice too. Peach tea was decent..but the Vietnamese coffee was sooo good! Hit the spot! Coffee is strong and creamy (I asked for extra creamer), kinda reminds me of Phil's Coffee hahaha but I think this one is stronger. New place so i can tell they're really trying to accommodate the customers which we really appreciate.. the young girl offered me free drink sample so that is really helpful.
