Although there was a slight wait (more longer than usual for a pho spot) I had to remind myself that good things are worth the wait! First time at Pho Fresh. I'd eyed the place a few times kept meaning to stop. This time I was starving so stopped after seeing great Yelp reviews. I asked staff for recommendations based on what I was eyeing. I ordered seafood combo pho in large size (huge!) and their signature fresh shrimp spring roll w peanut sauce that looks like sushi but is in rice paper. Ordered food to go and it came fast even though it was pretty busy. Portions were pretty darn huge. It was packaged super nicely. BEST of all I loved all the fresh flavors and ingredients. Came here Wednesday night an hour before closing after a long flight from Texas. They had just celebrated Vietnamese New Year so the remnants of fireworks were still out front. We ordered the Beef Stew with noodles, Pho Tai Bo Vien, and a side of salt and pepper tofu which I loved. Tofu was light and fluffy. Delicious with the chili oil and soy sauce mixture made I with their condiments. The pho broth was decent, but a bit on the sweeter side. The amount of meat was not much, but I prefer that because I wasn't overwhelmed. My boyfriend said his beef stew broth was also a little sweet. Absolutely amazing!!!!! Yes that is five exclamation marks to represent their five stars of service and food. We arrived without reservations with a large family party and with young kids. The staff was more than welcoming and accommodating. They combined tables to ensure we had enough space and chairs. Note they even have booster seats available. Due to the pandemic, their menus have became all digital, simply scan the barcode at your table to bring up the full regular and vegan menus to your smart phones. It was October meaning it was time for the Annual Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge. Obviously we ordered everything off the seasonal menu (minus the pizzas). For appetizers, we ordered the OMG Roll, Hot Baked Faux Scallops, and Fried Mock Chicken Baos. The OMG Roll was made with jackfruit-crab, avocado, tofu, cucumber, and pepper. This was crispy, saucy, and omg-delicious. The Hot Baked Faux Scallops was made with oyster mushrooms topped with garlic jalapeno sauce and crushed peanuts.This was a delight (although did not taste like actual scallops). The Fried Mock Chicken Baos made with mock chicken and spicy mayo sauce in a crispy bun. This was the star of the apps. We can see why this was a 2019 award winning appetizer and we truly hope it will be added to the permanent menu. These Baos were outstandingly crisp, tasty, and flavorful! For entrees, we ordered the Shaken' Steak-less Faux Shrimp and the Lemongrass Faux Shrimp w/ Vermicelli (Bun) Salad. Let me tell you, these two dishes blew our socks off. I have to say they were one of the best challenge dishes we ever tasted. The Shaken' Steak-less Faux Shrimp came on top of a bed of garlic cream egg-less lo mein noodles. The flavor profile was off the charts! The seitan steak was perfectly stir fried and seasoned with peppery goodness. The faux shrimp was coated and also perfectly stir fried and seasoned to perfection. Do not let the name fool you, the Faux Shrimp w/ Vermicelli Salad was no ordinary salad. This dish also had the same kind of perfectly battered and stir-fried shrimp but with lemongrass seasoning. The noodles and sauce complimented the shrimp so well. Those with seafood allergies (or simply vegan) may rejoice. You can enjoy seafood again without the actual sea. There was so much food and so much flavor, we brought these leftovers home to eat with rice. For drinks, we ordered the Honeydew and Taro Milk Tea, both requested to be vegan. They offered almond milk substitution to all drinks, no extra charge. The Honeydew Milk Tea is sweet and refreshing. The boba (tapioca) pearls were nice and chewy. The Taro Milk Tea was more subtle but still refreshing. The Honeydew was definitely my favorite. We also ordered Beef and Mock Chicken Pho. As well as Vietnamese Coffees along with Spring Roll appetizers. The Pho portions were super large despite being medium, but were satisfactory and worth the money. I had a taste of the Mock Chicken Pho and it had a pleasant taste. The mock chicken texture left a bit more to be desired from our friends and possible it may have been in the broth too long. Overall our experiences here have been stellar. The challenge items were mind-blowing. We left with full bellies and even had left overs! Pho Fresh is located fifteen miles away from Sacramento in Rancho Cordova but very much worth the trip. Yummy! A little hidden gem so close to our home that we stumbled upon while driving around! We decided to give them a try and it did not disapppint. Great selection of Vietnamese foods and vegan options as well!! This is a plus for us because my father in law is vegetarian and it's very hard to find vegetarian and vegan options in Asian food! We tried their crispy calamari (amazing), their pork baos (so good!) and of course the traditional pho. Everything was flavorful and service was amazing. My only complaint? Not sure what the server was doing in the back but my dad and I waited for 20 minutes to finally get assisted even when we were the first customers. We had no condiments and utensils at our table and what was annoying was, an old couple came 15 minutes after, seated, and got their condiments and utensils first. The pho here was mediocre. My partner and I have been fans of Pho Fresh for years, enjoying their vegan Valentine's Day meals and Vegan Chef Challenge entries. So it was a no-brainer when we needed to think about businesses to cater our wedding. Chef John created a fantastic selection of incredible vegan dishes, from their baos to spicy Mongolian mock chicken to a delicious curry asparagus mock chicken. His wife even made lovely menus for us to place at each table, marking which dishes were soy-free and gluten-free. They made food for about 120 people, and this is all in the same month as the Vegan Chef Challenge! People are still raving about the food! My boyfriend and I like coming here for pho as they have a convenient drive thru option. We've only ever ordered to go so I don't know much about what coming in the restaurant is like. I want to say that overall the past few times we've ordered from Pho Fresh, the experience has always been positive. Friendly staff, good pho. However, our last visit I wasn't particularly impressed. We placed our order online and it said our order would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived at the drive thru 10 minutes past the pick up time and the staff asked for the name on the order. We saw her pace back and forth from the drive thru to the kitchen and then she disappeared without saying a word to us. We sat around for another 5 minutes, before knocking on the drive thru window to ask about the status of our order. Another staff told us it was going to be another 10-15 minutes and apologized on behalf of the other staff for not communicating with us. So we left to buy something at another store before closing time and came back less than 10 mins. When we came back it was the same employee that had asked for our name the first time and I guess she didn't recognize us so she asked for our name and what our order was, turned around and left. She came back with our order shortly and that was that, nothing else was said. We ordered two bowls of pho and an order of spring rolls. No complaints about the pho itself but they only gave us 1 slice of lime between 2 bowls, no utensils or napkins. I was disappointed with the spring rolls because instead of using whole lettuce leaves, they used yellow shredded lettuce and it was bursting open and falling apart after the first bite. With everything being said, I still think this is a good pho spot and I'm hoping to update my review for the better the next time I stop by. read more

They had a digital menu, outdoor seating with Heaters and sanitizer. They offer a full vegan menu, plenty of healthy dishes and offer a wide variety of noodles for their pho like miracle noodles. Popcorn tofu w/ basil - delicious and super crispy. Fried basil is a whole new world. I'd ask for extra! Bacon roll - a healthy-ish alternative to sushi, this was absolutely Yummers. Over the past several months, I've placed to-go orders over the phone and I pick it up myself using Pho Fresh's drive-thru pick-up window option. They take my order over the phone - there is no problem. They accept my payment once I'm at their drive-thru pick-up window - there is no problem. But, whenever they quote me a time to expect the food to be ready... 9 out of 10 times there is a problem. If they say 15 minutes ready for pick up - it ends up 30 minutes. If they say 30 minutes ready for pick up - it ends up 45 minutes. If they say 45 minutes - it ends up being an hour. Are you following the pattern? So when I do go longer than what they give me over the phone as the pick up time, of course it was done on-time and now my food is cold even before I take it home. Their explanation (excuse) every time? They're busy. I understand a business being busy; what I do not understand is not quoting a good pick-up time (9 out of 10 orders). The owners either don't know how to operate a kitchen/manage a restaurant or they don't care. The owners either don't train their staff on what is great customer service or they do but do not enforce/inspect what they expect. The owners either don't hire/staff appropriately or they're unable to retain the staff that they hire. Any food can taste wonderful or can be perfect when it is prepared and immediately enjoyed; but if it is served cold - it's only mediocre to blah. Since Pho Fresh is too "busy" - then they won't miss me when I stop placing food orders with them. They've proven to me time and again they're too busy for my business. And, I'd rather patron a restaurant that ACTUALLY delivers excellent customer service. I'm already in my car picking up my food so I can simply place my order with another restaurant and pick it up from them - no problem. There are dozens of other places in town that serves delicious, fresh, and hot pho and other food items. Pho Fresh is not the only game in town. And, getting either cold food or bad service is not worth the troubles nor worth my money. read more

In the words of Yelp, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" I ate in the restaurant but ordered the vegan Won Ton House Noodle Soup to-go. Vegan Pepper salted calamari: the only item I had that was not good. B+ Vegan Taro Milkshake: so the menu doesn't tell you but you can order a vegan version of their milkshakes by paying an additional $0.50 for condensed coconut milk versus regular condensed milk. This place is excellent. Very clean, staff is nice, good amount of space, food has always been great for the three years I've been going here. Only downside, they are so popular they get really slammed and pickup orders can take nearly an hour. Banh Mi here is great, a bit pricey but it's a big sandwich and you get a little side of their excellent broth. But they use tangy cucumbers instead of dried jalapeños, and their Mayo/pâté is a bit different. An excellent Banh mi, just not my favorite, totally a preference thing. The pho is excellent, if you eat in, you get a huge bowl, and they give you a lot of noodles and meat. Can't wait for this heat wave to pass and winter to come so I can grab a hot bowl of pho on a rainy day. Lots of other great buns, rolls, and ramen noodles soups as well. They also have a large vegan menu, but I have no frame of reference to speak on that. Best part about this place, how much effort and care they put into packaging your to go order. No kidding, they package noodles and broth separate, separate ingredients when appropriate, veggies and meat split, solid well sealed cups and dishes. A week later I am still reminiscing about the spicy pork baos I love bao sandwiches that have the amazing bbq flavor and right amount of fresh veggies. I lucked out because my brother didn't realize how spicy these babies would be and I got to eat them instead. The spicy pork bao has a slice of pepper in it as well as marinated spiced pork and boy did it have a kick. Absolutely delicious. They have a few more options including pork belly, chicken, and vegan options! I am so glad this is close to my home because I will be going back over and over again. As for the soups!? Absolutely delicious too. Not too oily, fresh, tasty Beef brisket soup was good flavor, rich with some spicy and tomato flavor. The simple pho was also delicious and they even added wontons! Yum I would give this place 5 stars but alas, the time and day that I came- service was terribly slow. I went on Sunday afternoon at about 3-4pm. We were waiting at least 40 mins for our meal once we ordered and we weren't the only ones. Some people, I saw started to order spring rolls and boba as they waited for their real orders.
