I want to start by saying that we have frequented this establishment many times previously and it was wonderful. Tonight, however, the service was unacceptable. We ordered takeout (using the website menu) for 4 people. My sister picked it up, saying that the total came to $90, which seemed a bit high. Upon adding everything we ordered up on the website, we realized we had been overcharged by almost $15 ($20 if you count the $5 tip we had given them). I called the restaurant and was told that some of the prices on the website are the 'old prices.' Umm? I asked to speak with the manager 3 times and was told that they were unavailable to speak with me, yet the person on the phone couldn't do anything about this. I truly hope the manager can fix this and would be happy to update my review once that happens. read more

The wine was good, and nice selection of beer. The chips and salsa with guac is possibly the worst ever. Some chips were stale, none were warm. The salsa was like water, and the guac had no flavor. The sliders were ok, but overcooked some. The fish taco was pretty good. The salmon entree was good, with the cheesy rice. The blueberry martini came in a mai tai type glass filled with ice and a straw. Had to ask for it in a martini glass, and then sent it back as it wasn't drinkable. read more

Pinnacle Grille is 0/5 on take out orders. All for fairly large orders. Why do we keep coming back? We hope it's better since dining in usually is not so bad. Forgetting fries always, special requests, allergies, gluten free, horrible looking food, and so on. Every time we order there is a MAJOR mess up. 2 times we told the staff of the mistake and they say the food is on them next time we visit. BOTH TIMES they told us they will not fulfill word of mouth. We order from Estancia so the location is convenient, but we DO NOT RECOMMEND take out orders here. read more

Would have given 5stars were it not for our waitress. Food was excellent with large portions. My wife ordered a bbq burger (upon busboy's excellent recommendation). She wanted the bbq sauce on the side. When it came, there was nothing on the Burger except cheese and no sauce at all. We called the waitress over, and nicely asked if it came with lettuce and tomato which apparently you have to ask for. It was also supposed to have bacon which it did not have. She took it away in a huff and said she would have it fixed. Someone else brought it back and it was fine. We never saw her again. She went to all her other tables, but ignored us. Didn't ask if we needed more iced tea or water, and didn't ask how the Burger was once it was returned. We will definitely return but hope we don't have the same waitress. read more

Drinks were good, but took 20 minutes to arrive. Food was good, but another 20 minutes and food was ordered before drinks arrived. First time at Pinnacle Grill. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to go there because it's a great place. So nice to have a place to go to if you live up in north Scottsdale and don't feel like the long drive south! Cozy warm atmosphere, the staff were younger and very friendly and I appreciated this! I thought the staff had a nice energy and helped to set the tone even if the psyrins are somewhat more mature. I not into regular Moscow Mule drinks but the Hawaiian Mule & London Mule were very tasty drinks! I will definitely go back and the Happy Hour menu was nice and affordable! read more

I had lunch today with 3 friends and we all enjoyed the livers and onions entree. It was a veal liver and the sauce is just delicious. I've been told by many that they have the best livers and onions and it is so very true. I love livers and onions and this is one of the top best. The staff was awesome, too and they were very attentive and efficient. I will come back for more and try the other dishes. We tried this place tonight. It was pretty full and we were told we could sit anywhere that didn't have a reserved sign on the table. Luckily we got a table quickly. That was the only thing quick about the night. The waiter came sometime later and but it took over an hour to get our food. We did asked the waiter, who seemed to had a lot of down time, when the food would be ready. He said the cook asked if we wanted the kids meals first, but he didn't come back with them. It was another 20 minutes after asking before we got our food. The waiter never refilled our drinks and when he did finally check in with us, I complained because all of the food came out cold except my fish. read more

So I rarely review places, however I feel like until they get their act together people should be aware. As a bartender 20 years ago, I always feel it's much harder to do a poor job than it is to do it well. At 52 years old my thinking may fall on deaf ears. I want to start with the staff, they all are friendly, that's not the issue. By the way we were one of three tables as we h go it there at 12:15 on Saturday afternoon. It started with having to walk to the bar to retrieve two beers that were flattening after sitting for 5+ minutes, oh we were sitting at a high top in the bar. When I walked up the bartender said yeah I am not sure who these are for, I can guarantee our table number was there. We ordered our lunch, my wife ordered potentially the easiest dish which was the Hummis plate add chicken. They first brought out the hummus with veggies and no chicken but said chicken is coming. 10 minutes passed so I walked over to area where staff was hanging out, I asked was chicken forgotten and they said yes. Mistakes happen. However when they brought a sliced chicken breast, it was raw. The key is a chef/cook sliced it and thought it should fly. After they microwaved it, it was rubbery and we were afraid to eat it. I must say the other three plates were fine. The server actually never came back, someone else dropped off the ticket, we have CC and then someone else returned with CC that they found on the ground. We asked for the chit and he said I don't know I will have to go see. Bottom line, there is a gap that they really need to fill. Feel bad as it's a cute place. read more

Another nice evening here. Greeted promptly by the hostess in front, seated immediately and water was quickly forthcoming. I waited about 10 minutes to be greeted by the woman who is always there... Not exactly sure of her position, but she was extremely pleasant. She did take her orders and they soon arrived. She came back for our orders and food came promptly. The two sandwiches, patty melt, and French dip were great. I ordered the New York strip, asking for very pink... Not red. I got a well-done steak, and as it was later in the evening I chose not to ask for a replacement, because it was getting close to closing time. As you might expect, well done it's not tender. The wine reduction sauce was nowhere in evidence, seeming to have a salt and pepper seasoning. Was good and the company wonderful so all in all a successful evening. read more

This spot has so much possibility... especially with such a great location. We were here a few weeks back and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio. So much so that we made reservations for Valentine's Day. My wife made the reservations and everything was fine. Being thorough, she called to confirm several days ahead of time and to add another couple to our reservation. They could NOT find our reservations. We've become spoiled using Open Table app to make reservations. After a little talking on the phone, Pinnacle Grille re-reserved our reservation and expanded it from 2 people to 4 people. We arrived to Pinnacle Grille a couple of minutes early. The other couple joining us was already there and they indicated that they had checked in about 4-5 minutes earlier and the hostess had promised to seat them next. The patio was far from full. The front door was swarmed with people and the hostess looked overwhelmed. I walked in the door and noticed that one couple was ahead of me looking to talk to the hostess. I happened to turn around and watched an older couple walk in the door behind me. They tried to jump in front of me and when I stepped forward the woman rudely let me know she was ahead of me. It was a mad house. I watched the hostess seat a couple of tables before I made it to her. She quickly seated us at a table on the patio... we were handed 4 menus and 3 napkin/silverware roll-ups and POOF... the staff disappeared. After nearly 20 minutes, I finally asked for some help. This hurry up to wait and only get help when someone speaker up was the rerun we were stuck in. This place was way overbooked and the sweet lady who was our waitress was also the manager, as I overheard the table next to ours give her a loud complaint. The food was bland at best. The calamari order was 100% rings with no tentacles and was tasteless. I ordered the Chicken Milanese, which was tasteless. The pasta was dripping wet with some tasteless and unknown sauce, which I am willing to guess was simply from not draining the pasta. I ordered a marinara sauce hoping to add some kind of flavor. The best part of my dinner was the Italian lemon cake. We were told the salmon was the best item on the menu. My wife shared that it was "just ok". My sister-in-law ordered the steak. She barely ate it, as she said it was too chewy. My brother in law said his bolognese was good but far from great. Lesson learned.... lunch on the patio is solid and dinner not so much. We enjoyed lunch here a few weeks ago and I had the French Dip sandwich, which was delicious. I regret not ordering that last night. Needless to say, we left disappointed and will only be back for lunch or breakfast. I hope Pinnacle Grille steps it up a little, as the location is perfect. The inside of the restaurant by the bar is beautiful. So much untapped potential. Please don't let it go to waste... we don't need some sterile nationwide chain taking this local spot. read more

My wife is vegetarian. Ordered hummus. Came with a delicious red roasted hummus, one sliced carrot and one sliced stalk of celery. The celery was visually inedible. Rusty and old. Sent back the celery only to be replaced by another aged celery stalk. Come on, Pinnacle, you can do better! We like the place, but they really need to step up the quality of what they are serving. Such a hidden gem! This restaurant has a menu that is 4 pages long, so many different options and definitely something for everyone! We ordered ceviche, steak gorgonzola pasta, teriyaki salmon, burgers & a few sides...everything was delicious! We came right after hiking Pinnacle Peak, so definitely dressed casually. We had 2 kids that were close to bed time, so the GM put their orders in first to keep our evening peaceful. Waitstaff was awesome, (thanks Asher!) and the food was so good! Looks like there is a fun bar scene too. Plenty of outdoor seating with misters and cute lights for those who don't want to dine inside. If you don't mind spending about an hour and a half or two for your dinner, then you won't be too disappointed. I will first say, I've usually had excellent experiences at Pinnacle Grille, so I assume this was just a bad night, but it was very bad. 2 of the dinner items were good, but 1 was not good at all. The breaded chicken on the salad was tough and rubbery, the salad ingredients were not fresh as they usually are. The service was non-existent (not typical) and the food took 35 minutes to arrive when the restaurant was not full. I would have assumed they were short staffed, but when i saw other tables turn over and get food sooner than us (when they arrived and ordered after we had), that means there was a different issue. We had to ask for drink refills, which we did receive but the girl would drop them fast and quickly turn away and ignore the fact I was holding up an empty glass for her to take. So we ended up with 9 glasses on our table for 3 people which of course then 1 got knocked over and we had to clean it up as no one was ever paying attention to us. I gave up and stacked the glasses hoping it would make a point, but it didn't as we were completely ignored. We finally gave up and asked a bus boy to find our server so we could get the check. He brought the check, then never came back. So I paid in cash and we left; ironically as soon as he saw us leaving, he came back to take the check. No one throughout the entire dinner came to check on us, even the 2x we flagged down someone for refills it was a drop and go as fast as they could. I really hope this was a fluke and not the experience at this restaurant going forward. read more

We eat here at least once a week because the food is great and the staff are amazing. Dawn, Christian, and Clayton (as well as the others) are always positive and on their A games. They get our orders right and fill our drinks without being asked. The menu is well varied and there is something for everyone. Make sure you save room for the apple pie or carrot cake though because they are off the charts excellent. My only request? Get rid of the masks or make them optional. The CDC has lifted it and we are ready to return back to normal. Would just make the meal more enjoyable. Thank you and we will see you next week! read more

I'm leaving this review because the cook is a jerk. I overheard him frustrated with the hostess when HE messed up my order. Twice. I got a Cali burger and all it had on it was lettuce and onion. No aioli, mushrooms, tomato or avocado. And I had to send it back twice because the first remake only had avocado added. She had to tell him to look at the ticket - which was right, I saw my receipt. I'm leaving four stars because the manager handed it right and has them completely remake my order and take it off my ticket, so thank you. But I hope the worker shortage isn't forcing you to keep this jerk in the kitchen because he's not worth it.
