Very cute concept! Very similar to what Sushirrito is, but in more a square, boxy form. One order is REALLY FILLING. It doesn't look that big in pictures, but it can definitely fill you up real quick. They have many of their own specialty rolls, but you can also completely customize whatever fillings that they would like in their roll. Most of their specialty rolls include imitation crab salad. I customized mine, adding tempura, cooked salmon, crab salad, avocado and seaweed salad into mine! If you're a fan of sushirrito then you'll like these sushi pockets. It's more customizable (pick what you want to go in it), or if that's too many choices they have preset ones. Being a pocket, they are about half the size of sushirittos at about $7-$8 without adding the extras which is understandable because of the price of raw fish. The sides are nicely priced and come in big portions. The vegetable tempuras are perfectly crisp. Minus a star because I don't think we ordered a lot and it was around 2:00 in the afternoon and there weren't a lot of people around but it still took 20 min or so to get our food. The flavors are good and the price is okay. There are a bunch of hand roll/poke/sushirrito type places now and it is hard to stand out, this place is pretty creative in calling it a pocket and doing about half a size. I can only say that the first time I came here, the service and the food were good. Then, after coming here a few more times, the staff weren't friendly and the excellent service diminished. Here's why: One: the front cashier has an attitude. Some people aren't familiar with the menu; he rolled his eyes if the customer said the item the wrong way. You thought I didn't see that! I saw that! Two: They do not make any substitutions. I supposed considerations to make the customer happy don't apply here. Three: This place does not have wasabi alone. They pretty much pre-made and blended the wasabi into a soy sauce in a plastic container. They do not realize about the high sodium content or perhaps are aware that people might be allergic to soy sauce. It's disappointing to see this kind of business lose value and excellent services if they don't serve the customers with friendliness and kindness. I was looking for some new bites to bring to the A's game that would be easy to eat and not necessarily the burrito I brought the last three times. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Only one party is allowed in at a time to place your order but they do bring it out to your car. I ordered three pockets; one for me (trio) and two for my bf ( mango madness and trio). I found it really easy to eat, in fact I wish I would have bought two for myself as they were really tasty. Like how they used rice paper to keep it together, and to make it so that they could run the filling all the way to the end. Nothing worse than being left with mouthfuls of nothing but rice and seaweed. Flavorful, delicious, good combination of ingredients. One party in the store at a time -- this is enforced, I was asked to step outside. :) Only criticism is that the portion size is a bit small. Either make the pocket bigger or include a light side. Here's what we ordered today: Lion king pocket($7) vegetarian pocket($7), osaka fries($3.50), edamame($3.50?), miso soup($2)- Truth be told, i was full after one pocket, didnt really need the fries or edamame. Fries were good for the ones on top as it was fully dressed but it was limp towards middle bottom with no dressing ...still good though.. Miso soup is just soup that comes in a togo coffee container which you can drink from as there's no tofu in soup today..but again its 2 bucks so not really complaining here.. lol All in all, it was very good.
