We love all the Quality restaurants. This was our first time to try Bistro and it was good. Really good. We went for a business dinner and the atmosphere lends itself to conversation around the table. The Dining area was very bright and plenty of windows. The butter and bread service is worth the splurge if you have a large group. We didn't even get through half, with a group of 6. Steaks and fish were great as well as the cream Brulee corn. Drinks were also great around the table and we all agreed it was a do-over. read more

We stopped in for lunch without reservations on a Thursday and were able to get seated immediately. The restaurant is cute with lots of plants decorating the space. I got the Steak & Artichoke Salad and my husband got the French Onion Burger. Both the steak and the burger were a perfect medium rare. The steak on the salad had large flakes of salt on it which I liked and the artichokes were nice and briny. The fries accompanying the burger were perfectly cooked, not too crispy but not soggy. Normally wouldn't have come. French with no duck? No thanks. But they had it as a special so I I figured I'd give it a shot. Started with their whiskey a l'orange and French onion soup. Drink was recommended by the bartender over the old fashioned au poivre and I'm not so sure I agree with that decision. Not a huge fan of this. Tastes kind of like an orange throat lossage with whiskey. Not a good combo. The soup was amazing. Intended to skip the crouton due to the evil gluten, but I should have known myself better. Still, amazing. For the price point, it better have been. As for the duck, it wasn't the best I've ever had but for something they don't normally carry, it was pretty damn good. I can't really complain. The sauce on it was excellent though for the life of me I can't remember what it was. The restaurant is adorable with a nice outside patio to boot and not too far from Central Park, so a great place to come for dinner if you've spent your day in the area. They handed us the check for $350 from what we ordered but when I took a closer look at the check I found that they charged us for lemon chicken and fries that we never even ordered. I also got a glass of wine and they charged us $95 dollars FOR A GLASS, so I spoke with our waiter about this and he somehow "missed that". They also gave us a free dessert which we think was to distract us so that we unknowingly pay $350 for 3 meals. When the waiter finally came back with the updated check it was $150. Chef's kiss, no notes. The service was on-point and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even said anything. I think we had 4 different people check on us over the course of our meal to make sure we had everything we needed and that it was to our liking. Top notch. The inside is really nice too, almost has a feel like you're dining outside. At a French bistro (that would make sense, right?) The food itself has us wanting to return and sample more of the menu. Everything we had was delicious and I highly recommend the caviar slider, French onion soup and steak frites. My wife, the pickiest of eaters and prefers her steak to be a hockey puck, said this was one of the best steaks she's ever had. She is a carb lover and especially bread, therefore, we had to come for their famous Butter Service. As you walk into this spacious multi-room restaurant that has very high ceilings, you will feel like you have traveled to Europe and dining in a high class environment. The nose level is held to a minimum with tables nicely spaced apart. After being seated, we decided on ordering the Butter Service, along with a few appetizers. They brought the Butter Service over right away, and wow, it did not disappoint. Was it perfect? No. Best bread and butter ever? No. However, the presentation and accompaniments were on another level. Surprisingly enough, my parents' favorite accompaniment was the chorizo sausage, while I personally loved the black eggplant paste and leeks. Honestly, they were all quite delicious and enhanced the overall experience of the Butter Service. For the starters, we got a French Onion Soup, Green Garlic Escargot, Steak Tartare Tartine, and the French Wedge. Everything was wonderful, especially the zesty steak tartare for me, with its tart that never lost any crispiness while we were eating everything else. I would be failing to review this restaurant properly without giving their exceptional service a nod. From the moment we stepped in, and throughout the meal, we felt taken care of from the entire staff. Knowing we were there to celebrate a birthday, there was a card for my mom when we arrived. Btw, we were too full from what we ordered to even look at entrees and desserts, yet a birthday cake ice cream sundae was brought out for my mom, along with their house made chocolate mousse. Very nice environment with great food and satisfactory service. I liked it, but at this price point, I would have expected service to be a little more on point, especially considering they had so much staff on the floor. Walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by a really wonderful hostess. We saw a friend at the bar (which is stunning, by the way) so ran up for hugs and hellos and the hostess was very gracious in waiting for us to take us to our table. When she initially led us to the table right by the kitchen door, she also allowed us to get a table more central so five stars for her. Looking at the tables around us, we could see the food was amazing....the seafood tower was mind blowing and the fried chicken for two looked incredible. Our waiter came by and checked on us and allowed us plenty of time to decide on starters and main courses, as well as drinks. We started with the bread service, which seems kind of nuts at $38 but it was really delicious and I was filled up before we'd even made a dent in it. This is where the service touches began to not match up to the promise of the restaurant. With bread, there were a lot of crumbs and they were all just left on the table. Additionally, there were some greens on the bread tray and when that was cleared, some of the greens fell off and remained on the table the rest of the meal. Is this the end of the world? No, but it's nice to if you have a white linen tablecloth to not have food on it. Additionally, one of my companions ordered filet with pepper sauce. The sauce was made at tableside, which was nice, but when the server spooned the sauce onto the steak, he dribbled a lot on the table and no effort was made to clean it up so my friend had to use the napkin in her lap to clean it up so she wouldn't stick her arm in it. I had the strip steak frites and it was absolutely perfect. It seriously could serve two and after the filling up on bread, butter, cornichons etc, I could only eat part of it. It made for a great lunch the next day...even the fries were delicious the next day. Additionally, my husband ordered a side of mashed potatoes with his steak and they were very delicious. For dessert we had an espresso creme brulee. I just had a bite because I was too full and it seemed a little runny to me, but my husband liked it so can't complain. We also received a floating island which I really enjoyed. I want to complement the food runners and guys who fill up the water glasses because I had been feeling dehydrated all week and they kept my glass full. I've been a couple of places recently where nobody in the restaurant seems to notice when you've finished your drink or run out of water so I really appreciate it. Service was friendly and nice throughout but then getting the bill and paying took forever. After we asked for the check, our waiter walked by us four times...with the bill in his apron pocket...before putting it down. I watched him print it out and put it in the folio and put it in his pocket was watching it go back and forth without being put down was frustrating. For four of us, with bread appetizer, one bottle of wine (for our friends), two filets, two strip steaks, two sides and the espresso, the total was just under $600 with tip. That's about on par for midtown so I'm not complaining about the price, but I would have liked to have had a cleaner table without having to brush crumbs or absorb sauce myself. If that bit of service had been on point, this would be five stars. In any event, I do recommend Quality Bistro. It's a beautiful space, the service is nice (if incomplete) and the food is delicious. read more

We ordered a bunch of appetizers and entrees to try. My branzino was nicely cooked, but it was a bit bland and bare with no carbs included. The side order of Brussels sprouts was tasty. My friends ordered a burger and steak and it was okay. Their fries were crispy. It's a beautifully decorated restaurant with ample seating. However, there is a huge cold draft if you sit in front, where the booths are. There were also a few service hiccups, such as dropping utensils and spilling stuff all over the table. I didn't feel like the food and service were on par with the prices they charged. It was $380+ for four people. Hopefully it was just a one-off experience. read more

If you love butter, this is the place to go! I came with my family for my parents' birthdays and would highly recommend! For appetizers we ordered a salad, french onion soup, and their signature butter service. The French Onion soup was phenomenal. Perhaps the best I have had. The salad was fine, nothing special. I adore the butter service. It is so fun watching them make it! They give you a very generous amount of butter which they season to perfection! It comes with ham, leeks, fresh herbs, pickles, radishes, toasted bread, a black eggplant sauce, and a red almond dip. I liked the almond dip- it had a nice crunch, but the eggplant sauce just tasted like blended-up burnt food. Nonetheless, appetizers were amazing overall! For mains we ordered the Filet Mignon, Filet Bourguignon Pappardelle, Moroccan Fried Chicken, and the lamb. The fried chicken was a hidden gem on the menu! Crisp, bursting with flavor, and it comes with the softest warm crumpets (these went very well with the butter). The 3 sauces it came with were all good and complimented the chicken/crumpets nicely. I liked the hot-honey the best. Unfortunately, my dad had to send back the lamb because it was overcooked (he used to have a couple of his own restaurants and as a result perhaps has higher standards than others). They kindly offered to send out another, but he said he was quite full from the appetizers and ended up sharing the chicken. My filet mignon was good, not great. Parts were a tad tough. When I come back, I will be ordering the Filet Bourguignon Pappardelle. This was my favorite savory dish of the night (tied with the french onion soup). Dessert was incredible. The buttercream service was, again, so fun to watch! I liked the madelines and the espresso creme brûlée was a fun twist on your traditional vanilla. My favorite was the chocolate mousse. Rich, fudgey, and chocolatey. Perfect for people who dislike milk-chocolate; this mousse has a flavor complexity similar to that of dark or semi-sweet. Ambiance was nice. Dimly lit and well decorated. The bird art adds a fun pizazz. The sommelier was also very knowledgable and helpful when choosing wines. Service was top notch. The manager came out to talk to us, and the restaurant did more than enough to make up for the overcooked lamb. I would not be giving them 5 stars otherwise. I will definitely be returning to Quality Bistro! I have also heard fantastic things about their sister restaurants. Loved eating at Quality Bistro. The ambiance is beautiful and chic - super Instagrammy. I'm pretty curious about the vibe on weekends because I expected some couples to be on an early date night but most of the people i saw on a weekday were an after-work crowd. Not pretentious at all. The service was great and our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and some of the people in my party talked to him about the other Quality -sister restaurants they've gone to. It was pretty cool to see he was knowledgable about those as well. He made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. I had the steak frites and bistro spritz, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. For the appetizer we shared the butter service garni and the caviar slider. I never though a bread and spread appetizer could be fancy but it was...god I love carbs. It's kind of pricey but since it was a work event, I wasn't the one paying. =) I can't wait to return--especially if someone else is picking up the tab. Great mid town spot! The decor is very attractive and comfortable. All of the employees were extremely friendly. The hostess asked us if we needed to get to the theater after dinner, and made a note to have us out by seven thirty. Yet we never felt rushed. Excellent all around service I started with a delicious cocktail, the Lillet Cup. For appetizers we shared Steak Tartar and raw oysters. Both dishes were well executed. The Oysters had beautiful champagne popping bubbles on them that were delightful. For dinner, I had a special of Lobster in a Black Truffle Sauce on thick toast. The lobster meat was tender and succulent, and the sauce was a perfect compliment. My daughter had the Salmon with Leeks in a Champagne Sauce. She loved it. We shared the Green Apple Tart Tatin Sundae, which was divine. Refreshingly sweet and tart, it is the perfect end to the meal. It was also very generously portioned, so perfect for sharing. We had a reservation and sat in the garden room- stunning deep green couches and lots of plants. There was a cute birthday card on the table too. The food was good- got a couple glasses of wine and an assortment of food including the butter service, French onion soup, and the baby kale salad for starters, and the Filet Mignon, Lamb, Pappardelle, and Moroccan fried chicken for mains. The standouts had to be the table side butter service and the French onion soup. The pappardelle and fried chicken with the bread and herbs was also amazing! For dessert we got the espresso creme brûlée which was also tableside, the chocolate mousse, and the birthday buttercream service with birthday madeleines. They were all yummy- was my favorite part of the meal. The standout of QB has the be their service- it was truly phenomenal! There was an issue with the cook on the lamb and steak, which was quickly taken care of by our server and the manager who personally came out to talk to my parents and make sure they were having a good birthday meal. I really cannot emphasize how much I appreciated this level of service and care for their guests- they really went above and beyond for my parents' birthdays. First things first: Get the butter service! I'm a huge fan of butter, and this was quite possibly the best I've ever had. I worked across the street from Quality Bistro for years, but it always seemed too upscale for after-work drinks. But, when a Chicago friend was in town, I knew this would be the perfect spot. (I sent her a Tiktok video of the butter service, and she immediately responded, "We're getting that.") The servers were friendly, and the man who prepared our butter was very accommodating, allowing us to take photos and questions. We didn't realize the service came with so many extras--such as French ham, cornichons, and radishes--in addition to the grilled bread. As a gluten-free girlie, I was so excited to find they offered it with gluten-free bread. It didn't look *quite* as nice as the grilled bread, but it was still good! We ordered a couple more dishes to share, but we would have been fine with just the butter service as our meal. We ordered the Montauk fluke (a small portion, but delicious), the spicy caesar salad, and a side of fries. Their decor is beautiful and perfect if you ask a fancy lunch. I just really wanted their French onion soup which came in the large soup bowl with melted cheese on top. It was good to start with and share with two people. The soup was so savory and had a nice onion flavor. I loved the crouton / bread chunks that were on the bottom and soaked up all the brothy flavors. I ended up doing the chicken Cesar salad, which came in a huge bowl. It was a good portion which helped cause this place is pretty pricey for lunch. My husband got the lobster frites, which is pricey but came with a very generous portion of fries. I was excited to go here for my birthday and touched there was a hand written note on the table from Quality, saying thank you for celebrating with us. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed and laid out into three dining areas plus the bar. The place was unbelievably packed for a summer Monday night coming off a holiday weekend. The wine list is extensive with many options. We were all very happy with our individual selections by the glass. The food was not on par with the reviews and reputation that Quality has. We ordered a Caesar Salad to split for the table since we had ordered large entrees. There were two of us that ordered the Strip Steak Frites. I was unable to cut mine and asked the kitchen to cut it for me. It was too chewy with more fat on it than it should of had. I ended up taking most of it home. My friend ordered medium rare and was served a mostly rare piece. We also ordered the Moroccan Fried Chicken which was too salty to eat even with the sauces. My friends' picked at it and said they would add it to a salad for lunch the next day. My favorite item on the table all evening was the Lemon Aioli that accompanied the Jumbo Asparagus side. It was light, fresh and well balanced. The desserts were a let down as well. I love traditional Crème Brûlée and the best part is always cracking the shell. This version was served a little differently, it had espresso poured on top and foam added dissolving the burnt sugar top. The Chocolate Mousse was very rich and dense. It's served with whip cream to cut the flavor but the way our cream was placed it fell onto the table. The waiter was very attentive however, who was helping him did not seem to be having a good day. The funny thing is they forgot we were there to celebrate my birthday and only brought out the desserts we ordered. When it was mentioned to the waiter "no candle" he said, "oh, it's your birthday". This is a late review of our Thanksgiving dinner here (11/28/24). It was my second time dining at Quality Bistro, and I insisted on coming back for Thanksgiving because of the gorgeous atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server was polite but not very attentive--we constantly had to flag him down, and he rarely checked on our table. Despite the restaurant being well-staffed, no one came by to refill our wine glasses, which is unacceptable at this price point. As for the food, it was mediocre for the price. I tried their special Thanksgiving menu item--the roasted turkey breast with classic gravy and cranberry sauce--while my boyfriend had the filet bourguignon pappardelle. Both dishes were good, nothing memorable. I've had much better experiences elsewhere for far less. For dessert, we shared the green apple tarte tatin sundae--an apple crisp dessert with vanilla ice cream and lime gelato. The portion was huge and perfect for two people. The decor inside is fantastic, with dim lighting and ambient music creating a lovely atmosphere. However, our candle went out three times, which was a minor but noticeable annoyance. Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the mediocre food and inattentive service don't justify the high prices. I expected more and, unfortunately, left feeling disappointed. read more

What a wonderful experience at Quality Bistro! From the moment we walked through the door for our 5pm reservation, we were greeted and seated within 5 minutes. The staff was attentive and pleasant, with several team members coming over to check on our table throughout our dinner. The butter service garni was well done my wife and I loved the chorizo and eggplant purée dip. The Corn Crème Brûlée was delicious. I had the lemon chicken, which was a nice portion served with a side of creamy mac and cheese, while my wife had the delicious looking filet bourguignon. The staff also surprised us by offering prosciutto and a crab cake on the house, which was a lovely and unexpected touch. We thought we were done and couldn't eat another bite, but our waiter persuaded us into trying a dessert and it was exactly what was needed to cleanse the palate. The raspberry sorbet, paired with what must have been pistachio, was amazing, and the chocolate ice cream was the perfect combination to end the night. As parents to seven children, we don't get many date nights, but Quality Bistro reminded us that we need more of them. We shall return. Thank you to all the staff for a truly great dinner! read more

I honestly thought this place would be a tourist trap where everything just looks pretty and that's all, but I was so wrong! I came here tonight with my family and had a great meal! We started with the butter service and crudités. The butter service absolutely lives up to the hype! The crudités was good but probably not worth ordering again. For our mains we got a couple files au pouivre which was made tableside and so fun! We got the Brussels and mushrooms as sides, and both were fantastic. The mushrooms were a fan favorite. To finish we shared the espresso creme brûlée which was so good! I will say that the drinks are nothing to write home about. I ordered a dirty martini and received a glass of just vodka, so I had to go up to the bar to get some extra olive juice. There's a cool bar when you walk in and I loved the decor with lots of plants and trees and French signs. The baby kale salad was great and I loved the filet bourguignon pappardelle. My friends loved the salmon and pork dishes too. Nice vibe and good service so we'll have to come back since I didn't get to try the french onion soup or the desserts. read more

Came here with a large group of 9 people and were seated at a round booth table. The venue overall was big, but this table was a bit tight. We had to ask for another plate setting so not sure if it was meant for that many people. I was sitting at the entrance of the booth as I arrive a bit later than my party and the waiter would constantly reach over and ask for glasses to pour water. For food, everything was delicious. We got the butter service to share with more bread! The steak frites was perfectly seared steak and crisp fries. It was a friend's bday so they also came with a madeleine service that came with butter cream. Those were delicious. Overall, would recommend trying! read more

We came here for a work event and it was an amazing dining experience. I'd heard people rave about the corn crème brûlée and it definitely lived up to the hype! It was like a dessert for a side dish. The bread service was also something I'd seen on tik tok and it also was amazing. The bread was so flavorful and the butter was insane. They added all sorts of seasonings and spices to it. The vibe was super upscale and made me feel like I was eating my steak frites (you guessed it, also super fire) in France. I went to Quality Bistro for the first time last week and will absolutely be coming back soon! The ambiance, service, and food was all top notch. Starting from the beginning, I was so thankful that they allowed me to sit down at our table and have a glass of water before my friend came to join. So many restaurants now won't let you sit until the full party is there, so I really appreciated that! Our waitress was so friendly, had the menu fairly memorized, and came with recommendations in each section of the menu. We started with the butter service which is realistically the reason why we chose to eat there. Freshly churned butter, delicious accompaniment's of ham, marinated leeks, sweet chorizo, pickles, radish, and crispy yet fluffy bread! I had the French onion soup which was a literal cauldron and I will be thinking about it until the next time I'm able to go. It had such a great depth of flavor and sooooo much cheese! Next we ordered the squash gnocchi which my friend really enjoyed. We ended the evening with the raspberry sorbet which was on a bed of mashed raspberries and topped with a pistachio shell and seemingly freeze dried raspberries! read more
