I set up a banquet type of event for my daughter's 6th birthday with a lady named Melissa. It was a small dinner for 9. I was told by her that we would receive all kinds of fun birthday treatment when we arrived. First of all we arrived and they weren't expecting us, I had to show them my contract. THEN we get to the table and there's no bday bag of goodies or anything else we were promised. The food was cold, unseasoned and to be honest awful. The waitress was "ok". The atmosphere is old, dark and needs a good cleaning. The food is overpriced and for what we paid to "book her dinner" I expect a refund. I keep calling to reach a manager but of course no one answers. I wouldn't eat here again if someone gave me a free gift card. Also the GM William Ohaver is as incompetent as his staff! Worst key lime pie I've ever had. There were supposed to be games, raffles, and prizes. They had absolutely nothing. My dudes the immersion of this rainforest cafe is god tier next level. There's even cockroaches crawling around just like in a real forest! Manager came over to us and was like, "I mean, you ever saw a bug in your own house before?". Yeah, no effin sh** Sherlock but I've never seen them crawl out of my freakin chair like this. Even then, when I go to a restaurant I don't want to see cockroaches crawling around, it's disgusting. If I can see them crawling around in public areas who knows wtf the kitchen looks like . Another thing to note, this roach was on the 3rd level. That roach had to come a longgg way up from the ground level to get to where we were. If I had to guess there's probably an infestation somewhere. We have been waiting for an hour for our food what a bummer because the atmosphere and staff seem friendly.

It's Sunday afternoon and we were immediately sat and served promptly. Our waitress was to die for and very alert and attentive. We ordered mixed drinks and appetizer and two entrées. They came out in less than 20 minutes and both were seasoned and cooked appropriately. It's the Rainforest Café so that atmosphere is just always interesting and entertaining. Will definitely return. Our server Adrian was awesome and very accommodating, unfortunately it could not make up for the lackluster experience. I ordered the southern cross lasagna, my wife ordered the Anaconda pasta. The lasagna was some of the blandest I have ever had. It tasted like it was heated straight from a frozen dinner pack. My wife's shrimp in her pasta was rubbery. Wow, It's clearly A kid's place and I was just looking for a burger. Granted it's next to the river, and you will have bugs, but I was there for 5 minutes and my ankles and legs were infested with bug bites, and severe ones. I think my table had an infestation underneath. Sorry for the staff- it's not their fault, but some of these restaurants next to the river have a more efficient spraying policy. I had family come in for the holidays So when I took them downtown to experience the Alamo I thought that I would take them to the rainforest Café because It is a very unique experience. I was very happy that we went to the Rainforest Cafe!! It is something they will remember from San Antonio. The rainforest café is unique because It has the jungle theme. The animals come to life!! You will be eating and you will hear a thunderstorm!! The apes will be meeting at their chest! When I got there I put my family name on the wait list. They took down my phone number and texted win the table was ready. Once they texted we were given 10 minutes to get back to the restaurant. we had to wait about 40 minutes. However I heard we got lucky and sometimes it takes longer than that. The restaurant is very close to the Alamo and while my family was visiting the Alamo a walk to the rainforest Café and put my name on the list. The atmosphere was terrific! The customer service was good to! I had the fish and chips and I was pleasantly surprised, I figured it was a themed restaurant and the food wouldn't be that great. But it was!! If you haven't been to the Rainforest Cafe you need to check it out. I can say that the restrooms were not as clean as I like, and it's pretty expensive but I think overall it was a great experience! This rainforest cafe in San Antonio on the riverwalk pales in comparison to the rainforest cafe in Disney Springs Florida. The food I ordered was a chicken meal on a bed of rice. The rice tasted like it had been cooked earlier in the day and sat on the stove for hours. It wasn't very warm and it was bland. The chicken was cooked well but lacked the jerk chicken flavor it claimed to be. Typically I finish my meal but this one was not the case. Our server was great and extremely polite and happy. The ambiance was okay but we were seated away from any of the moving characters. We wouldn't go back to this one moving forward. read more

The BEST Rainforest experience ever! We've been to them all over the US. This is the only one that has Pandas as well which is super cool! The restaurant is directly on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The food was perfectly seasoned, fresh, served hot and tasted delicious. We had the awesome adventure appetizer, Rasta Pasta (my absolute favorite), the Pastalaya, Top Sirloin and the kids ate cheese pizzas. The server was really nice and efficient.
