Red Maple has got to be one of my absolute favorite places to go to for brunch. Their food is spectacular! I went in this afternoon for brunch and of course, they did not disappoint. We ordered their papas con chorizo, brisket breakfast burrito, and tiramisu French toast. I also tried their pumpkin spice mocha. Wow! Just wow! Everything was so damn good. Their service was amazing. They were so accommodating to our baby and getting us inside when it started to slightly drizzle outside. The restaurant is cute and incredibly clean. We'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

RUN DON'T WALK! We seldomly find a place that perfectly threads the needle of looks and substance. Red Maple does just that. You can see the decor from across the street. It's all Valentine's Day themed at the moment, and I can't wait to see how they dress it up for future themes! To start, they do fun (AND tasty) espresso drinks. They give you the option of getting celebrity faces printed on there or you can roll the dice and do their "Newsmaker Latte" which is the story of the news week. This week was of course Travis and Taylor. (You can also get regular drinks without the printing.) The staff was SUPER nice and attentive. Just the right amount of table touching without overstepping. Friendly, always smiling -- and you can overhear their interactions together and they feel like a tight-knit group. Onto the food. We got the Chicken and Waffles and the Red Maple breakfast sandwich. Everything LOOKED great and TASTED great. The waffles were cut into hearts and even the butter pieces were too! The waffles definitely stole the show. Crisp, fluffy, and didn't get soggy. The ube marscapone was nice. The chicken was cooked well but wasn't our favorite (lacked a tad bit of flavor) but worked well with the waffles. The Red Maple breakfast sandwich was well-portioned and all the ingredients were very fresh. Everything worked well together and the breakfast potatoes were solid (a little heavy on the onions if you care about that sort of thing). The bread on the sammy was really soft but held its consistency throughout. Last but not least, they ran a mug design art contest for a local elementary school. The winners got some art supplies and 75% of the mug sales get donated to the school. Come on, how cool is that?! We can't wait to come back! Second time coming here and the first time was great! But this second time we were seated across from the bathroom (YUCK!) this table should NOT be here & removed asap. Food was good (despite having to eat while people were going in & out of the restroom letting poop particles trail behind them ) Also, they should carry Cholula hot sauce & trade out the kale salad for a Romain lettuce salad of some sort. read more

Been here a few times and we had a great experience. Staff is friendly and the food is very unique. They take your drink experience to another level by printing celebrity faces or you can upload your own image. Inside seems loud during weekends but the back patio is very relaxing. read more

What a lovely place to visit! I love the warm homey vibes that give it kind of a family friendly nice diner breakfast feel. The place is decorated for Christmas and the staff is very friendly. The menu here is expansive to feature breakfast and lunch items. They had nearly 30 latte flavors and on a normal milk latte you can print out a celeb photo which is a fun gimmick. I tried the brisket burrito and cookie butter latte. The former was quite tasty and heavy. The latte was decent, I didn't get much cookie butter flavor but it was sweet and good. I come here almost weekly for lunch b/c I work nearby. They opened a new location recently that is suuuper cute and nice! They have a nice broad breakfast and lunch menu, and a full range of espresso drinks. It's a comfortable place for lunch to relax and have a cup of coffee. Nice spot! read more

We have been AVID fans of Red Maple until today. Everything was as usual when we first got sat down, our server Sabrina was attentive, kind, and such a great person! The usually upbeat ambiance was quickly soured by the man who looks like the manager/owner. He had bumped into a runner holding a huge tray of food and instead of apologizing, it seemed he gave the runner a harder time. It happened right in front of us, so it was hard to not feel terrible for the staff who are so kind to us. As food service workers ourselves it's hard not to notice this lack of good management. Your job as a manager should be to make things easier/better for your staff, but it seems like he makes things a little more stressful for the staff. Again our server and the rest of the staff were amazing! This rating is 100% directed at management so they can see how they affect their staff and how it is almost always noticed by their customers. read more

Great menu. Super packed with choices. There is a separate page for different drinks as well as a special seasonal menu. The place was full of hungry diners, staff was accommodating, and food was delicious. My friends loved the breakfast burrito with the choice of sides. They picked the minty watermelon and raved. Brunch! Love the new location! It's like a real restaurant now. Took my mom this week to taste the lavender coffee. It was just like I remember it, delicious! Their special touch of the design on top of the coffees is even nicer. We ordered two pancakes, the Classic breakfast and my mom had the waffles. The waffles were by far the fluffiest and best waffle I've had in a long time. I am so happy I came here for my carb day. There is a variety of breakfast choices, chicken and lunch choices and now they are serving dinner from 4-9 Tuesday-Saturday. This Red Maple is even better than I remembered it. This cafe totally made a great start of my day. But I TOTALLY recommend it for ALL DAY RECHARGING. The vibe here is very nice and refreshing, especially in the morning. It's not hot at all. You can enjoy both inside and outside seatings. The area is pretty quiet and clean. With all those, people here make it even better! I'm sure it's gonna be a great RECHARGE because you get caloric energy from delicious food and you get positive energy from service here. If you prefer sandwich, they also have their sister restaurant right opposite the street that does sandwiches too. I had: fried chicken waffle ahi poke bowl brisket green onion waffle chicken tinga tostada sakura matcha latte TikTok tea latte cochata A little bit about "TikTok tea latte" because it's my favorite tea of all time. Basically, it smells really good and tastes EXTREMELY good. Like.. a bit herbal, a bit sweet, a bit flowery, basically a little bit of everything but it's EXTREMELY good. Food are actually very tasty. I could have spent another piece of essay describing how good each of them were - but cut it, they're perfectly seasoned and cooked, with fresh ingredients. IMO chicken waffle is especially unique and I'd say it's a must try. Parking: I found a few spaces on Maple St. Decent free street parking in the morning. read more

This was a true 5-star experience in every way, from the easy parking (first hour is validated), welcoming atmosphere, friendly/fast service, and fantastic food! I am a huge fan of breakfast burritos, and their Brisket Breakfast Burrito is the best I have ever had. Like addictively good! Excellent drink options as well. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner and brunch every day of the week. I can't wait to try some lunch and dinner items there. This place is a Valley neighborhood gem. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The wait was about 20 minutes or so, which wasn't too bad considering it was Saturday. We were greeted by friendly staff immediately upon arrival. Once seated, our orders were taken promptly. The restaurant is pretty cute and cozy inside. The food was delicious. We tried the Nutella French toast and berry french toast. Both were delicious and fresh. We also had their awesome lattes with our choice of celebrity picture. I'd definitely come here again for a great breakfast. read more

came here for lunch on a thursday and we were sat pretty immediately. there's a fake tree in the middle of the seating area, cute. we ordered a bacon burrito, brisket burrito and the chicken & taro waffles. both burritos were bomb! the waffles were good. the chicken was like a thick chicken strip which i didn't care for but the waffles were good. the side of potatoes were slightly undercooked so we regretted not subbing for fries our waitress was nice and attentive. would definitely recommend. matter of fact, imma go back this weekend :) read more

I am from the south and it's very difficult to find a restaurant with unique good food, absolute comfortable/cozy atmosphere and top notch creative mind blowing drinks. Red maple is just that place . They food is full of flavor and the best unique ingredients. You can enjoy one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had to a stack of the best buttermilk pancakes that taste better than most homemade cakes I've had. On top of the food you have the best coffee drinks made with fresh beans and specialty cocktail drinks that are exquisite and do not skip a beat when it some to creativity. It's like a party in a glass whichever you choose. Eating this food and the feeling of community you will feel like you are in a little Hallmark movie with the beautiful cozy family atmosphere. Staff was really friendly. For a place that boasts great breakfasts the Food was very mediocre and surprisingly limp. The breakfast potatoes were soggy and unappetizing. The custom omelette was prepared fine. The single buttermilk pancake was tough to cut (not soft) and bland... certainly not worth $6.50. I wonder if people go for the celebrity faces on their lattes instead of the food? When I was exiting, I told the manager that I was really disappointed with the pancake and he was very kind and refunded me for the cost. He also committed to sharing the information with the kitchen. I appreciate that response. read more

Glad I got to finally try this local spot! Breakfast brisket burrito was delicious and staff was so friendly and accommodating, allowing us to get all the sauces on the side. The chipotle aioli it came with was super tasty. Our server Brian was really nice and remembered everything. Super cute casual vibe, with a festive and celebratory theme often happening. In October now, everything's decorated with a Halloween as well as Breast Cancer Awareness month theme. The only thing on food was pancakes were a bit tough--might stick to more of their savory dishes. Looking forward to trying more! read more

It has a lot of flavor with a subtle hint of spice that sets it apart from a standard vanilla latte. It does lean pretty sweet, so I'd recommend asking for it a little less sweet if that's your preference. The drinks are also reasonably priced, which is another reason I keep coming back. They have a selection of pastries as well, although I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Overall, this is an easy cafe to recommend. Good coffee, fair prices, and a comfortable atmosphere, make it a spot I find myself returning to regularly.

The barista took the time to engage with me a bit & genuinely seemed to care about my experience. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch which is flavorful and not too sweet which is a plus in my book. This is a local favorite for us. We come often as the food, the prices, and staff are awesome. I am the parent of a blind son that has used a service dog for 35 years. I'm very familiar with the laws of being in public with our dog, including dining out (which we do almost daily) The couple next to us had a dog with them. The woman had it in her arms. The staff asked two questions 1. Is this a service animal? What service does this animal perform? I'm used to these questions as I've always been asked these. The couple were immediately offended. Service animals are allowed almost everywhere in restaurants, except the kitchen and sitting on the seats etc. I tried to be helpful and explain to them that as someone with service animal experience for decades, it was allowed to ask those questions. She snapped at me "I'm going to get all of my friends to destroy this place with bad reviews" So out of curiosity, I checked yelp today. Suddenly I see several reviews about this incident. How petty. If someone has a legitimate review it helps us all...good and bad. We look to these reviews to help us decide where to spend our money. If food or service is bad I appreciate honest reviews. But if reviews are being weaponized against a small business, that's really sad. The staff member calmly asked two questions and the couple caused a scene and escalated the whole thing. The tables around me all felt bad for the staff. These reviews of people walking out in anger? I would love them to post receipts of the date/time they were there, because after the couple stormed out several if not most of the customers agreed the couple took it too far. Laws vary around the country but I'm including a photo about animals being on seats. Years ago we used to do that too, but it's changed and most restaurants ask us to keep our service animal off the seats. Now, that I've moved from Toluca Lake to Mar Vista, it's quite a different trek to get to and from Red Maple: 3 bus lines and a trip on the subway. Typically it can take up to 2 hours to get there and 3 or more to get back. But, I consider it worth it. I love being a part of the Red Maple dining experience. I appreciate the owners, Brian and Jim, always making me feel good and important. I typically go on a Friday. I spend the afternoon there and enjoy a wonderful meal, a coffee or soda, and then enjoy a walk around the Toluca Village. Hey, money is pretty! Not only am I a writer, but I also DJ. My library of music is largely 1950s-1980s. Brian and Jim book me to DJ their special events and I really love sharing my collections with the restaurant and the customers. I can highly recommend just about every plate on the menu. Wonderful service and Servers. Competitive pricing, and a very fun ambience. I wish the best for the restaurant! A+ all around. They have a wide variety of flavors, from ube to avocado to blackberry Cabernet to Madagascar Vanilla Bean. The ingredients are all natural and you can really tell in the taste. We opted for the strawberry cheesecake and it was fantastic. A small is probably enough to share for two. The customer service is spectacular. Very nice people. You can try all 16 flavors if you desire. You might be full after that though! They have lattes and macchiatos and lots of coffee and hot drinks. The hot latte with whole milk was a nice balance, lightly sweet. Printing your face on a hot drink is fun. You download the Coffee Ripple app and it will transfer the pic to the printer. Red Maple is one of a handful of places in California that has it. It was hard to decide which pic to use! We took forever to choose. What a pleasant surprise our recent dinner at this spot turned out to be! Exploring the menu, we sampled a variety of dishes, and let me tell you, each one was a winner. Personally, I couldn't get enough of the TikTok coffee and the Beyoncé coffee- unique flavors and fun names! And let's talk ambiance - it's got that classic LA vibe that transports you right into a scene from a movie dinner. The cozy atmosphere really adds to the whole experience. Oh, and can't forget about the staff - super friendly and welcoming. It's always nice to feel like you're among friends when you dine out. One thing that really stood out was the value. Came out with the family for breakfast. We checked in online, showed up, and yeah -- had a little bit of a wait. No big deal. It was raining, patio was closed -- everybody in L.A. acts like they've never seen water falling from the sky. Place was packed, but they had it down. Staff was moving people through, nobody was losing their minds. Pretty impressive, honestly. Now, the food -- absolute fire. I had the breakfast burrito -- thing was insane, just loaded and perfect. Wife got the portobello eggs Benedict -- unreal. And get this -- my kids, who usually pick at food like they're doing an autopsy, asked for a box so they could bring leftovers home. Never seen that happen before. Hands down one of the best breakfast spots I've hit in L.A. in a long time. We're definitely coming back -- no question. read more

I recently dined at Red Maple , and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with stylish decor and a cozy atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The staff was outstanding we had Emily she was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations, and it was clear they genuinely cared about providing top-notch service. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. I got the banana blueberry pancakes and it was delicious. Overall, food was amazing and service was excellent, 10/10 recommend. Absolutely amazing from start to finish! The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was delicious, and you can really tell they put care into the quality of each dish. Everything came out hot, well-presented, and exceeded my expectations. The service was just as impressive.
