    Chicken Kebab
    Christine B.

Stopped by Rosemary Grill in West LA and really enjoyed it. It's a fast-casual spot serving Mediterranean, Persian, and Iranian food, and you can actually see the kebabs grilling over fire when you walk in such a good sign. The place is spacious with plenty of seating, and the portions were way bigger than expected. Everything came out nicely presented and super filling. We ordered the Rosemary Special Kebab, Salmon Kebab, and Chicken Kebab, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. My salmon was perfectly cooked and it was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. I also tried some of the Rosemary Special Kebab, which had lamb, chicken, and koobedeh, and it was really good. Overall, great food, generous portions, and a solid spot if you're craving Mediterranean flavors. Would definitely come back and recommend checking it out!

The falafel wrap was superb, maybe a little dry (could use more tahini/sauce) but I would get it again. Thankfully they give two containers: one with hummus and another with incredibly potent garlic spread (it would seriously ward off vampires; I still have garlic breath 4 hours after lunch lol). In my opinion, a good falafel should have a vibrant, green inside with a crunchy, golden brown exterior: this place met that. I could taste the earthiness of the fava beans/other legumes used. The rice was perfectly seasoned and fluffy; it could've been a tad bit hotter (temperature wise). The staff is kind and helpful. The restrooms (single stall, unisex) are really nice too but require a code which the staff is happy to share. I'd like to comeback for their lunch specials next time, or something else from their extensive menu! Options to order at the register or use a kiosk. Parking is in a shared lot with other eateries.

I really enjoyed the variety of options and flavors at Rosemary Grill. The lunch specials are my favorite because you get a great bang for your buck. The Mediterranean food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, and the hummus was especially outstanding--creamy, smooth, and packed with authentic flavor. The manager, Jacky, was cool and suggested I try the tiramisu, which was absolutely delicious. It tasted rich, fresh, and gourmet. It was the perfect ending to an amazing meal, and I would definitely come back for both the Mediterranean dishes and the dessert.

    MIX KABOB PLATE $26

SO FRESH! That's what my mom and I kept saying while we shared a plate of their MIX KABOB. It has a mix of beef kobideh, chicken and shish kabob. The meats were flavorful, smoky and incredibly tender and the rice was fluffy! Their hummus and garlic sauce were really good too! It's one of the best meals we've had in a while! Interior is casual yet comfortable. Service was great. Located in side a small business plaza and parking is limited, but cars came in and out so we didn't have trouble finding parking right away. We will definitely be back if we're in the area.

This was my first time eating here. The food is really good and I mean really good. It's Mediterranean food so that means it's not fast food. Which means it takes a few minutes to cook which also means it's not only good but fresh. Would I ever come back. ABSOLUTELY!!! If I lived around here I would be a regular. If you want a good place to eat I would suggest to eat here.

This restaurant will be moving soon to a new location nearby at 11907 W Olympic Blvd, so make sure to check before you go. It has the nicest service and is currently in a very convenient mini-mall with two reserved parking spaces right in front. The ambiance is relaxed and friendly but there is not much inside; just a long table with chairs and a couple of chairs with counter seating. Even if you order to eat in, it looks like everything will be served mostly in foil containers/to go containers (at least that's what I saw other customers eating from), so I feel like it's a better place for takeout. Check out their lunch specials, which are a great value and are available up until 3:30 PM. The "family platter" of appetizers is extraordinary. They make a wonderful and crunchy fresh falafel, a delicious baba ganoosh, creamy hummus and their dolma are excellent. I also liked the mixed grill items and rice that we ordered. The one thing that I found very disappointing was the fesenjān, which is normally my favorite Persian dish. Their version is very watery and more like a sauce than a stew; it's available in a vegetarian version. I asked for a chicken version and basically it was just pieces of grilled chicken on the side which you were supposed to pour the sauce over. I've never had fesenjān with this consistency. It just tasted watery and off, and I couldn't even eat it. I don't recommend their fesenjān. Otherwise, I loved everything else and the service in particular with a smile was so nice. Everything was packed beautifully to go.

They were supper attentive and friendly. After I ordered I sat outside to people watch which was honestly really nice. Reminded me of Paris. My food came promptly thus after. The Tumeric braised chicken is amaaazzzinggg the chicken is so juicy and falls off the bone. The rice has some sort of crunchiness to it that compliments the entire flavor profile of the dish. The eggplant dip reminded me of the one my grandmother makes, dipped with the chicken made my meal feel really nostalgic. I've been back four times since and never regret it. Recently, we were curious if our old go-to, Javan, was still any good. So, my wife and I dined there. The beef and chicken koobideh entrees were both excellent- so tender and juicy. This weekend, we have some friends visiting from San Francisco. As SF is a fantastic food town in its own right, we suggested two different food options that are better in L.A. than what you'll find up there: Korean BBQ or Persian food. The wife pushed a return to Javan. Alex, the manager, recommended the All Javan Combo for our party of 5. It includes tzatziki, hummus, salad, and flatbread to start followed by beef and chicken koobideh, chicken kabob, filet, lamb, and choice of rice. We added an eggplant stew with lamb shank and an extra skewer of chicken koobideh. Finished the meal off with hot tea, a sublimely-delicious saffron ice cream (house-made by Alex himself), baklava, and little bites that were like honey churro nubs. After we finished this feast of a meal, my daughter looked up at me and said, "This was one of the best Persian meals I've ever had." I must agree. This was a meal greater than the sum of its parts- food was very, very good and the experience was elevated by the warmth of Alex and his staff. It's rare that a restaurant works this hard to make its guests feel welcome. Free street parking and a full-bar (Alex is happy to whip-up a special cocktail for you). I give Javan my highest recommendation. Please eat here if you're in the mood for Persian food. Bon Appétit!

It is better than their beef koobideh and barg, though those are still good. I have had better beef koobideh at other restaurants like Raffis or Shekarchi. Just until recently we have been experiencing changes in flavor and food presentation, still no excuse to serve people that have been supporting their business with tasteless and cold food. Last week I had enough and called over the manager. He did mention due to the high cost, they had to cut back and raise prices. Giving us the typical excuses to weasel their way out. Order 1 was tri stews that came out cold with small portion of rice. The stews were tasteless and meatless. Menu states chunks of beef but yet nothing in our dish. Maybe they gave us the veggie option for $28. I scream middle eastern from a mile away do you think I would go there for a veggie dish? I don't think so. Discrepancies can elevate a dish but unfortunately I don't think the new management in the kitchen has any clue on culinary arts. If you lack that part in your business at least serve a warm dish with decent size rice which is cheap to buy or add some side greens that can fill a normal size man so I don't have to stop by In N Out after. Order 2 was chicken barg that was cold as our stews, tasteless and strange color to it which manager claimed it was a new marinate and also agreed it was small. Small portion and cold but yet they charged $28 for it. No mention if their cuts are organic or not is very troubling as the chicken felt it was frozen with a chewing texture and a strange aftertaste. The icing on cake was a $5 premium charge for a small bottle of sparkling water that's normally at most at local gas stations for a $1.90. The manager had the nerve to tell us they have been cutting back including the small slice of lemon that they used to offer with a glass of water. This place is a joke and ran by people that just care for money as they have been opening new locations with our support. They have forgotten when you claim superiority over other restaurants you better deliver as presentation is key which this restaurant lacks as well. Manager claimed they focus on healthy marinates and oils and provide healthy meals which as if he was selling me on a gym membership! Maybe he should save all that talk and had refunded my money. I paid, even gave a healthy tip as the server had nothing to do with it and I would have ordered desserts but everything on it was unhealthy and store bought contradictory to his long speech. Save your money and don't go here.
