Truly authentic Honduran food, served by a wonderful family who put "love" into each dish. Restaurant is very clean, has a nice bar area and is 'off the beaten path.' Truly a gem that you should go out of your way to try. I had the sopa mariscos (seafood soup), the platano frito (fried plantain) with beans and dipping sauce, along with fresh, iced, horchata and of course...a mexican coke. My friend had the carne asada with the green plantain and got a side of sauce (ketchup and mayonnaise mixed). The plate was *demolished*. Buyer beware. Fam came into San Pedro for some food. My sister found a small wire in her child's food and told the server. The server got upset with her and told her that things like that happen, so what!. He then proceeded to berate us about bringing a half drunk Starbucks into the restaurant and said that their policy was to charge people for outside drinks. He charged us for 3 extra drinks, even though we ordered drinks at the establishment. My girlfriend and I consider ourselves pretty adventurous when it comes to food, so we jumped at trying something new. My girlfriend is a huge fan of Latin food from her time studying down South, so San Pedro's seemed like a perfect fit. I rarely leave such long and pedantic reviews but this place is MORE than deserving of it. We were greeted promptly on a Sunday morning and happened to be the only non-native Spanish speakers in the establishment (great sign of things to come) so the experience started off great. Rudy and Renato were both working the floor and doing a great job of it. They promptly got us menus and an order of Cafe con Leche which was outstanding, and made sure we didn't have any questions regarding the menu. My girlfriend settled on the Desayuno San Pedro's and I went with a bowl of Sopa De Mariscos. Wow. The word there is purely, wow. Reynato made no bones about the fact that this sopa was going to put me to sleep, and he was correct. If I could equate it to a Honduran curry of some sort, it's the closest equation I can make. Lots of coconut milk, shrimp, fish, a cluster of crab claw, muscles, potatoes, yucca, and platanos made this probably one of the best bowls of soup I've ever had, easily top five if nothing else. My girlfriend made short work of her breakfast, which included chorizo, platanos, and fresh crema to go with the platanos. The house tortillas were just a very carb heavy icing on a very large and decadent cake. It was so large, I actually couldn't finish the soup, which is rare, and I felt very bad about that if we're being honest. Overall, it was fantastic, exquisite, outstanding, whatever adjective of positivity one can attribute, it applies. As an interesting side note, Renato was observant enough to notice my wrist band, denoting that I had served in the military. He thanked me for my service before admitting that he himself was an Army Veteran, a 12W I do believe, and we made some small talk about that. It was like being in someone's kitchen and talking with friends. Such an outstanding presentation by two very genuine and passionate young men who put out a great image and a great product. This was my first time exploring food from Honduras outside the island of Roatan. That being said, I was fairly unfamiliar with the menu items so I ordered something I've had before, carne asada, but with the Honduran flavors they put on it. The meat was juicy and tender, the beans were good but had a cheese that is fermented a little longer than I'm accustomed to and thus a bit of an acquired taste for me. The cabbage and onions mixed well with the plantain, carne asada, and beans. I really enjoyed the dish. It also came with rice but I couldn't find a good place for the rice since everything else went together and had so much flavor. The rice mostly toned the flavor down which I didn't want to do. The tortilla on the baleadas was so fluffy. Service was good. Each dish was made fresh and came out hot so they were a few mins apart getting to the table, but not an issue for us. read more

I'm from Florida and my mom is Venezuelan so I've had many types of Hispanic food, but I can't say I've had authentic Honduran food. This place popped up with my filters of highest ranking restaurant open at lunch on a Saturday in Dallas. There's a couple other Latin restaurants next door, so try not to get confused. This little restaurant was cute and quaint and filled with locals. I ordered the higado cebollado, which is liver and onions. It was phenomenal. The flavors were so on point. It was cooked to the right temp. The salad and beans on the side were delicious, and the tajadas (plantains) were very obviously just chopped and fried - so fresh! They also had sweet tea which made me happy, but they also had a lot of natural juice choices made in house. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and willing to give recommendations. They speak English just as well as Spanish, so don't be shy! Go in and give this place a try. You'll be so happy you did! read more

If you are in the Dallas area and looking for that hole in the whole restaurant, off the beaten' path, in a not so visually appealing area outside of Irvine....but has REALLY good food, this is the place for you! I went to this place this past Saturday as I scoured through Yelp, trying to find a decent place to grab some coffee and something small to eat. As soon as I pulled up, I was caught off guard by how small the restaurant was compared to the pictures I saw on Yelp. There were only two tables being waited on by one waiter, so I was able to grab a seat very easily. The waiter was a total bro. They had soccer playing in the background, most of the guests were of latin descent, so I knew that I had picked a good spot. I ended up asking a lot of questions about the menu, and the waiter was super knowledgable, and made some really good recommendations. We talked shop the entire time that I waited for my food (sports, things to do in Dallas, etc.). I can't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was phenomenal. I did order Cafe con Leche as I had been craving it. I can honestly say this was the best Cafe con Leche I've had, even better than what I've had in Miami. What a cute mom & pop shop! This would by the hubs and mine first Honduran food and man was it a great way to start off the food trail. We didn't know what to expect but it was delicious from the first to last bite! I had the baleadas con heuvo and the hubs got the pastelitos hondurenos. My meal was just perfect for my morning with the hot sauce sitting at the table. The tortillas were a pleasant surprise on what we were use to. I can't really describe it but you gotta give it a try! I LOVE the baleadas!!! I got the plain one for free with yelp checkin. I ordered another one with chorizo and avocado which was also delicious. If you love flour tortillas then you must try it!! My husband ordered their enchiladas which I was not a fan of only because I'm used to the regular Mexican enchiladas. I also had the hot chocolate which was also delicious!! They only have one hot sauce which is in my posted pic... it's not that spicy to me (I eat spicy foods lol) and it's more on the sour side. If you love hot/spicy I would recommend you bringing your own favorite hot sauce because all their dishes have zero peppers. Even though the baleadas were amazing, I would have been even happier if they gave us some greens to go with it on the side. read more
