We ordered the tikka chicken salad, chicken shawarma wrap, baba ganoush, hummus, chicken tikka plate, and dolmas and everything was delicious. It is the best baba ganoush in town! We also tried the baklava and I can't wait to go back!

This place is the definition of a hidden gem. From the sidewalk, you'd never guess just how spacious and inviting it is inside--it's the perfect spot for big groups or family gatherings. The decor is absolutely charming and sets a great vibe the moment you step through the door. The Highlight: Desserts First? I'll be honest: the dessert counter is a showstopper. It caught our eyes before we even looked at the menu! It took a lot of willpower not to start with the sweets, but it definitely gave us something to look forward to at the end of the meal. The Spread We sampled a variety of dishes, and there wasn't a single miss: Baba Ghanouj: A total "must-get." It was incredibly fresh and perfectly smoky. Falafel Salad: The falafel was impressively crispy--easily a table favorite.

Locally well priced and great proportioned Greek food. My friend and I both ordered what the other person preferred. He appreciated the falafel and I loved his shawarma plate along with the pita and hummus that I got. We were gifted amazing soup and desserts while we waited which really made an impression. It felt homie and very clean inside. These people care about their restaurant. Unfortunately I will take off a star because we waited for awhile, even with their apology, and his food didn't come with a pita as it showed on their photo. I think anyone who wants Greek should support them.

This place is just like its food and owners. AMAZING!! This is a family owned business and the owners are so friendly and kind. I really wanted to try the baklava and not only did I try the baklava which was delicious and decadent but also Abby greeted me with a sample of her creation of a cream filled phyllo dough pastry. I ended up taking a pound of sweets and sharing them with friends because I can't gate keep this place I also took 2 plates of whatever she recommended, (the pictures are below) which was so good and flavorful. I really wanted to love this place as it is conveniently located and has decent parking. I usually get the hamburger meat kebab, which they call Kofta beef skewers. I saw the description and is seemed to be cubideh or at least similar. Well, the plate includes 2 pieces of the meat and they were small compared to other places. Also, they did not have much flavor/onion/spices and were quite lean. I do like meat just with salt, so that was OK, but I was expecting a much more flavorful (and bigger) skewers. The meat was quite dry/lean but I am still giving 4 starts because it was a decent meal and the staff was very friendly. I placed the order in a rush and picked up in a rush. I do remember seeing the option for the meat temperature when I was going to order earlier, and I thought about selecting medium or medium well, but I do not remember making a selection, so I do not know if I am confused about it or if it defaulted to well done and I did not notice. I did like the addition of hummus to the plate, and the salad was good. Also, the rice was not my favorite, it had sort of a sweetness to it, I think it tasted like cardamom, which I was not expecting. I will try to stop by with more time and chat with the staff and ask some questions to see if I can find another favorite because I ordered what I always order at mediterranean places and it did not go well. There was no sumac in my bag, just a small container with some sort of mayonnaise dip, it looks pink so it may have some sumac but I did not taste it in the dip or the meat.

The food here was fire! The service was phenomenal! Will absolutely tell my friends and family to eat here. The place is cute and warm inside. Amazing choice. Turkish and Arabic kebabs were awesome.

Tender Grilled to perfection! Homemade Hummus with Round Pita. Garlic Dip on the Side. Owner so interested in her guests. When you order a platter you are served a small bowl of lentil soup. Great touch to keep your Tastebuds engaged. Yellow Rice is the base of this dish. Desserts are to die for, need to keep the weight off. Everything is made on the premise! Take away box!

What a lovely charming local ethnic restaurant! We visited for lunch with a 4-year-old after swim lessons at nearby Hubbard family swim school. Well standing in line looking at the menu, she managed to tip over all of the velvet ropes, their plastic stanchions are top-heavy and quite a hazard in the lobby. Does foot traffic really justify this clap trap? Two employees watched us struggle to right then, one was literally standing right there and did nothing. The child could have been hurt, so this needs to be addressed. Our cashier was very smiley but seemed not to understand any of my questions. In the menu pictures they show the gyros as a pressed and formed prefab sheet not shaved. So I didn't order gyros. I chose the chicken shawarma plate but didn't understand it came with items (besides salad and rice) which I could not eat due to diet restrictions. I would not have paid for a platter with giant Pita and hummus, I would have gotten a simpler dish which I could have eaten fully. The chicken was very tender and the shawarma was more deeply seasoned than I am accustomed to. However, I really prefer white meat and I believe this was dark. I am thankful it was not covered with the traditional mayonnaise shawarma sauce. It was on the side. I'd much prefer tzatziki unfortunately I did not know to ask for it. The rice was fluffy basmati and they generously brought lentil soup for the table to start the meal. The preschooler devoured two soups and our hostess was so amused she brought more for us to take to go. My companion ordered a beef shawarma platter and was very happy with her choice, it was shaved ground meat as I would have expected the gyros to be! We all had leftovers, my husband had an entire meal off mine. So the value is high even if your entree is $17. I would like to see lunch specials, or smaller versions made available on the menu! This family business goes out of their way to be personal, cordial and provide over the top generous food, with a few minor potholes to fill. The bakery looks fabulous too!

This place is delicious! The baklavas was sooo amazing - loved the pistachio one!! We got a beef shawarma flatbread - delicious. The French fries are good but likely from a bag. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the jalapeno poppers. We will be back!

Wow! Why did it take me so long to visit this place. Maybe cos its tucked around the side of 40th and T Bird... Well, first impressions as you walk in the door is amazing,,, larger than you think from outside, colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and the smell of incredible fresh prepared sweets, almonds, pistachios honey and flaky pastries! Ordered the Giro plate meal, great portion size and perfect hummus included, prepared in house i think. Giro meat was well flavored and juicy with a fresh pita. Family owned and operated and it shows, met the daughter, son and Dad, great atmosphere, with a lot of locals dropping in for tea a pastries. This will become a regular visit for me!

I'm glad I found another middle eastern restaurant and supporting a small business. The ambiance was nice with hanging umbrellas throughout the store. Reminding me of that section in Puerto Rico where ppl take pictures. As for the food: Beef/lamb Gyro: I was say 9/10, the basmati turmeric rice was a little tough, could be due to overcooking or less water, but overall great. The meat seasoning had a good flavor and definitely you can't taste the gaminess from the lamb. Chicken Shawarma: I will give this 8.5/10, as the flavor of the chicken was great but a tad bit dry. Sweets: definitely the first thing you smell walking into the store. That rich buttery sense that hits you right in the nose. Yum ! In terms of service: great, got my food shortly after ordering with my hour lunch.

Food was very fresh and favorful. The staff was friendly and amiable. We love the food AND the sweets. I keep coming back and it's always delicious!

Great family owned restaurant! The food was very good! My family mainly came here for the sweets but saw the food and end up trying a combo plate to go. While we were waiting, they let us try a cup of lentil soup which was very flavorful! We all enjoyed it! The food was great but the baklava was delicious! Just the right amount of nuts and sweetness! Easy to find, enter off 40th Street across from Frys. A family run restaurant with a wide selection including pastries and sweets. Highlights were.. all of it Wife raved about the lentil soup, I much enjoyed my falafel sandwich, she much enjoyed the chicken shwarma. The staff- were very inviting and helpful. The decor is uncluttered and nice. * I think customers would appreciate a paper menu they can take home with them We will be back ! read more

This place is one of the better values in town. Generous portions of Mediterranean fare, prepared with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. And the made-on-site deserts are the best of this genre I have ever had, and I've had a lot of them. Very reasonable prices, adorable atmosphere, friendly staff. We went today to celebrate a birthday, and we were so impressed by all their food, service and friendliness! We shared the combo, which introduced us to Shawarma and Tikka beef and chicken. Everything was excellent and delicious. The Greek salad was amazing! The lentil soup was so amazing, I ended up ordering a quart to take home! Very pleasant service and experience. The ambiance is inviting and the staff is extremely pleasant. The food was enjoyable and plentiful (chicken shawarma plate, chicken shawarma salad). The chef also treated us with their delicious lentil soup and pistachio baklava. I highly recommend this restaurant for their delicious Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Turkish cuisine. LOVE THIS PLACE! The owner is so nice and generous and the food is so good! I love the flavors in every dish. The salads are always fresh and taste as wonderful as they look. I eat the Kibbeh probably every other day, my favorite snack/food with hummus. The shwarma ( spelling?) is moist and the 1/4 chicken over rice is fall off the bone tender and full of flavor. The pistachio baklava is the bomb! The inside is decorated nicely and very clean. So glad they opened up!!!!!!!!! read more

Even though this restaurant is right around the corner from my house, I completely found it by accident. I went in to get change for a $10 bill so that I can get water next door. They had just recently opened and I could tell that they honestly did not have the ones that I asked for but gave them to me anyway. that kind of kindness goes a long way in the current state of hospitality. We decided to go for lunch today, and I'm so happy that we did. First of all the owners and I assume their daughters were some of the friendliest people that I've ever encountered. They let us try samples and honestly wanted us to ask questions. We ordered the beef gyro, the beef kabob and the baba ganoush. I can't believe I forgot to take pictures, as soon as the food hit the table, we were feasting. Everything was perfect. You can literally visit a restaurant, order your food, have the food brought out to you, eat and leave without a word exchanged. We couldn't stop talking about how nice it was to be treated like a guest, in someone's home, that honestly wanted you to enjoy every minute of your stay. Thank you and we'll be back. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and had the gyro plates. Generous portions that tasted amazing! Service was quick and staff were super friendly. Topped it off with a few pieces of the made onsite to-die-for baklava courtesy of the owner!!! You can watch the chef make it from scratch right there at the front of the restaurant. Everything was outstanding. It's easy to see their heart is in what they serve! read more

Delicious! The gyro plate is full of favorites - creamy hummus, soft pita, garlicky tzatziki, lemony Greek salad, and of course tasty gyro meat in your choice of chicken or beef. And if that's not enough, as you walk in there is a chef making a variety of baklava and pastries! Very hard to walk by without getting a sampling... And very reasonable prices on all. Walked into this little hotspot while visiting and The food was fresh, flavorful and right on time! Some of the best gyro I've had and I eat it often. Just stopped by here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was not too busy so it didn't take long to get my order after calling ahead. Very nice looking restaurant and next time I'll need to come back and eat in. The staff that helped were very friendly, attentive and helpful. I got the sense this was a family run business which I am all to happy to support. I will be back as the food did not disappoint. I had the chicken shawarma plate which was a pretty good amount of food between the chicken, rice, pita, side salad and hummus. I even had a chance to try a baked dessert fresh out of the oven, So good! I would recommend trying this restaurant if you have not had a chance yet. read more

Everything (and I mean everything) about Sasa's is wonderfully incredible. First, the owners and staff are very nice, sweet and generous. They clearly take pride in their product and it shows. While waiting for our food we got free lentil soup; it's homemade and it is the best lentil soup in town. I used to think Yousef's on Cave Creek had the best lentil soup, clearly Sasa's is now the best. I'm a huge falafel critique and if a falafel is a bit hard or dry I'm done. Again, I think these falafels are the best in the city. Light and crisp and not dry. The owner says she grinds them daily. We ordered the veggie platter and chicken tikka wrap and everything was top notch and generous. The owner gave us the shawarma beef hummus to try, and I can see why. That shawarma beef was flavorful and tender. Go for the beef. Of course we had to take home some "sweets" and the baklava is the best in town. Sometimes baklava has too much honey. This was perfect. Very nice Mediterranean restaurant. I had a combo platter with tikka chicken , beef and gyro meat. All three were perfectly prepared and seasoned. The tzatziki and hummus were fresh and tasted excellent. Rice was perfect as well. It was the best I have had in the Valley. They brought us a complimentary cup of lentil soup. I don't like soup or lentils. This stuff was great. Lastly the Baklava was to die for. I eat out just about every night so I have tried just about every Mediterranean restaurant around this was the best. read more

The baklava and assorted other desserts are exceptionally fresh and tasty. We purchased a tray for my niece's birthday and they were the hit of the party. While there I also tried their baba ghanoush, kibbi, and dolmades which were also tasty and well prepared. And the servers were extremely nice and helpful explaining the menu and providing us a sample while we waited. I want to come back and try more of the menu options. Honestly, if you love middle eastern sweets and food you won't be disappointed. read more

I went to Sasa with my family after a day of swimming. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and a great staff. The food was delicious and fairly priced. After dinner our host gave us the most delicious Middle Eastern sweets, fresh from the oven. I have yet to find a place with Middle Eastern sweets in Phoenix, I'm glad I found this place. read more

There is a nice variety of sweet treats, and the service provided by the team inside the truck was stellar. One of our student organizations was hosting The Scookie Bar, and after walking around their event, you could score a ticket for a complimentary Scookie. As we pre-ordered so many as incentives for our students, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, something wasn't set up properly so we didn't have the cookies themselves, but we did have sundaes. We had six options to decide between. I went with The Standard consisting of vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce, and on a normal day, there would have bene a chocolate chip cookie, too. The other five options included the Chocolate Lover, The Celebration, The Signature, Reese's Lover, and The VNA. While I enjoyed the sundae, I'm sure it would have been even better with the cookie included. The Scookie Bar is "where the scoop met the cookie" and serves freshly baked, warm deep-dish skillet cookies also known as scookies. They have a location at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix, though I would assume I would more regularly see them when their food truck stops by ASU. Their Churchill location is closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 5-10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 PM. If you want to order catering, it includes 2 hours of service and a 100 scookie minimum. They can provide a Build Your Own Menu where guests can choose the cookie, ice cream, and toppings, or they can choose from the Signature Scookie Menu which is what ASU did. They have been operating since 2016 in Phoenix. Now that I realize that I was missing the chocolate chip cookie, I need to try it again with that included! I definitely recommend this sweet treat to others.

I recently visited Sasa in North Phoenix, and it instantly became one of my new favorite Mediterranean spots. I ordered the combo plate, which came with chicken kebab, kefta kebab, and cube steak, and every single item was outstanding. The chicken kebab was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, with that smoky, char-grilled flavor you hope for but rarely find. The kefta kebab was rich, juicy, and packed with spices that tasted authentic and thoughtfully balanced. The cube steak was another highlight succulent, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portion was generous, and all the sides and accompaniments were equally fresh and delicious, tying the whole plate together beautifully. You can tell the kitchen puts real care into their ingredients and preparation. The service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the staff genuinely made the experience even better with their welcoming attitude and quick recommendations. We're always on the hunt for the best Mediterranean food in Arizona, and this place has truly set the bar! The food was absolutely delicious--perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and generously portioned for the price. But what truly stood out was the hospitality. We felt genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. The owners were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience feel personal and memorable. To top it off, they have a talented pastry chef with an impressive variety of baklava that looked as amazing as it tasted. We asked if they served coffee, and not only did he make us a fantastic cup, but he also paired it with a few rolls of filled baklava--on the house! We were blown away by the kindness and care. Sasa has quickly become our absolute favorite spot! Every time my wife and I visit, we're greeted with the warmest hospitality from the family who runs this gem. Their friendliness, helpfulness, and passion for crafting delicious food is apparent every time we visit. I've worked my way through the entire sandwich menu--from the gyro to the chicken tikka--and each one has been an absolute winner. Even my wife, who usually isn't a fan of lentil soup, adores their version--it's just that good! And let's talk about the desserts: each one is homemade on-site and absolutely divine. You truly can't go wrong with any choice. If you're in search of a tasty, healthy, well-made, and affordable meal, Sasa is the place to go. I visited SASA Restaurant yesterday and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Their beef kebab and salad were delicious and full of flavor! The food quality is outstanding and, best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable for what you get. What really made the visit special was the restaurant owner! She was so kind, warm, and welcoming - the kind of hospitality that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. The service was excellent throughout. I had an amazing experience here! The falafel wrap was incredibly filling, freshly made, and well-priced for the generous portion. While we were waiting for our food, the staff was so kind and treated us to complimentary hummus and pita, which was a great touch. As if that wasn't enough, they also surprised us with baklava for dessert! The staff was super sweet and attentive, making the experience even better. I am Thai and I grew up in Bangkok and I can say that the food and service at this restaurant is excellent. Absolutely Authentic food! Love the sauces and the cook knows what they are doing in the.kitchen! If someone wants real food that has flavor and not the normal weak versions most places have around here. Wish I could give more than 5 stars and so happy to find this authentic Thai food!! read more

If I could give this place more stars, I would. The service was outstanding and the shawarma tasted like I have never tasted before here in Phoenix. I had the beef shawarma wrap with the baklava and I can proudly say I was more than satisfied with my visit. This is the BEST Mediterranean food!! Falafel is best in Phoenix. baklava is better than I've had anywhere. The beef Shawarma is also delicious and I can't wait to try other dishes from here. The people are super nice and very, very friendly. read more
