Maybe becaused I'm spoiled by the Wall Street location, but my recent visit here was super disappointing. I know Serafina is a chain...and some might say it's a step above the Cheesecake Factory...but as a frequent diner at the Wall Street location, i've always loved a little lunch visit to Serafina. But my gosh this location was awful. First of all, our server and the host were chatting up a STORM the entire time we were dining there. It's a pretty small restaurant, and we were sat near the entrance. The host and our server were complaining about the weather, the AC, a group of guests form last night, and the upstairs "smell". Yes, we could HEAR the entire conversation they were having. Service was quick but the food didn't taste like the standards we had for Serafina. Salad was drenched in dressing even though we asked for light dressing, burger was cooked extremely dry when we asked for medium rare, fish was way too undercooked, and pasta was hard. Not to mention the drinks were WEAK and WATERY. I still love Serafina, and will continue to dine there...but NOT at this location, that's for sure. read more

Came here for lunch with my boss yesterday. I ordered the chicken Milanese and he ordered the chicken parm. My Milanese cutlet was gigantic. The entire plate. His was the same cutlet cut in half. Why do I get such a large piece and he gets half? He asked for the manager who was a little bit rude. Walking into Serafina on 61st St for an early dinner, this has always been one of my favorite locations, we were greeted by the host and shown a table spaced away from other diners. The front dining area is warmly lit, bright enough to read the menu, comfortable seating with tables along side the wall facing a beautiful bar and ending by the pizza oven. The pizzas at Serafina are always a good starter or entree but tonight, the lightly fried artichokes and burrata caught my eye and the dish was terrific, the artichoke leaves inside were tender and silky with a hint of the olive oil that they were cooked in with the burrata served on a bed of arugula and sliced cherry tomatoes around the plate. The heart shaped lobster ravioli was delicious and served with a light sauce. The other entree was a grilled whole branzino plated with grilled vegetables, the fresh flaky fish was perfectly cooked as were the vegetables. The pasta was pretty good although they did not serve bread with dinner, which was disappointing as there was nothing to dip in the sauce. I liked my meal enough but the staff was acting unprofessionally yelling and swearing and joking with each other the entire evening I was there. So we had melted plastic in our food! Ewww the column was just OK as it was kind of soft from the heat in the container I guess. My girlfriend's garlic pasta was only fair. As you paid nine dollars extra for shrimp, they added five small shrimp for nine dollars! The chicken Parm was the only decent part of the meal. The sauce was good, although the chicken was a little soft was hoping for more of a crispy texture considering it was fried. Overall, I don't think we would ever order from here again. read more

We went to Serafina on 61st Street with a simple dream: a plain pizza and fries. That's it. Nothing fancy. No substitutions. No gluten-free goat cheese emulsions. Just cheese, sauce, crust, and some fried potatoes. Instead, what we got was an hour-long existential crisis served with a side of absolutely nothing. The waiter took our order with the enthusiasm of someone being held hostage. Then we waited. And waited. Watched two different couples arrive, eat, pay, and leave. A third party next to us literally ordered a well-done steak, and somehow got it before we saw a single fry. I could've grown the potatoes myself, and still had time to take a nap. At the 60-minute mark, we flagged someone down. "It's coming," they said, eyes darting like they knew they were lying. At 75 minutes, we left. We never got the food. Not even a basket of bread. Not even an apology. I went in hungry and left emotionally hollow -- like a sad character in an indie film whose big dream was sabotaged by an overhyped trattoria. If you're craving pizza and fries, go literally anywhere else. Heck, crawl to New Jersey barefoot in a snowstorm -- you'll get fed faster. Avoid Serafina 61st unless you're practicing intermittent fasting... for the rest of your life. read more

Walked in as a table for 3 after a day spent at the Met on NYE before the evening and NYE dinner rush. Luckily, we were able to be sat upstairs but were informed by the staff that we would have to relinquish our table in about 80-90 minutes. Our famished group was up to the task. Service was so-so. Took several times to ask for water refills and to clear plates from our crowded table throughout dinner and the check after dinner. Food came very quickly after ordering. The kitchen seemed prepared for the storm that was brewing for NYE dinner. Ordered a whole mess of food - crostini with burrata and caviar, lobster bisque, eggplant parmigiana, meatballs, caesar salad, foccacia, pappardelle ragu, pizza di vittorio. The eggplant was a small cast-iron serving dish without any side of pasta. The foccacia must be from a region that I'm not familiar with because it resembled more of a motzah than the images of fluffy pockets of olive oil and herbs that I'm used to. The show stopped was the crostini special with the burrata and caviar. Probably should have just ordered half a dozen of these for each of us as our meal. Pizza was well balanced and high quality ingredients. All that said, not sure you'll find me at a Serafina again. I'm hoping I've got the correct location. I was not paying attention when I checked in and posted my first picture. I checked in Sephora and posted my picture there. What a great place for a small family party. We were about twenty people, and we had a fixed menu. The night started with a few appetizers, meatballs, pizza, and a ceaser salad. But they also ordered a few other things, another salad with avocado and hearts of palm, French fries, and a white pizza. I loved the meatballs, but everything else was really good, too.. actually, the pizza was my least favorite thing, and it was good, too. For dinner, everything on the menu looked really good. I went with the filet with arugula salad. It was cooked perfectly, served with some kind of sauce that took it over the top. Everyone else at our table except for my daughter had the grilled salmon. They all said it was fantastic. My daughter had penne vodka. It was different from what she was used to having. She didn't care for it and ate half the salmon my wife had. I tried the penne and it was very good. Dessert time! It was tarimasu and chocolate cake. I could only have a bite of each. Was it good! It was a good night with really good service. read more

The food was pretty average but overall pretty bland, especially the sauces. I liked the texture of my homemade fettuccine and the diavola pizza but everything else was lacking in flavor (including the sauce for my fettuccine). The tables and chairs are also quite cramped so you feel like you're sitting on top of the party next to you. I did however very much enjoy the Pinot Noir I had. For dessert, we got the chocolate mousse cake and the tiramisu, which my husband enjoyed. Over all, probably wouldn't recommend. read more

So we came here so I could try something other than pizza (because thats all I have wanted since visiting New York) so we came to this place and they had really fancy outdoor dining. So they gave us a basket of bread and the bread is really good and has a great crunch to the bread. I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs and this is by far the BEST I have had, EVER! It beats anything I have had in Michigan. The noodles were very thick and the sauce was very delicious, almost like a Lemon Orega o taste, a perfect sauce and the meat had a different taste, more of a real meaty taste but the spices on them made it taste perfect with its moisture quantity. This restaurant is nothing special. Margherita pizza is the size of a personal pizza and costs $23. An apple juice is $5 (full of ice) and a black hot tea, which is served in the tiniest cup (much like that of an espresso) is $4! We were greeted by a fake smile. The server Carlos is the only one who smiles and is genuinely nice. The bus boy is not. They drop the check without asking if you would like to order anything else and a separate guy comes with a manual chip reader to receive payment from you with no hello or ask of how things went! Guys, you're located on the upper east side!! You fail all standards! The space is small, smelly, and dark and you need to walk downstairs to get to it. Go to a gorgeous place like Ilili downtown if you want quality for your buck. I'm disappointed. And FYI, no military discount is offered here meanwhile this whole area provides that discount!! We visited Serafina Always on aa Friday evening when we were searching for a good Italian spot on the upper East side. We originally wanted to go to Piccola Cucina but they were packed. They were able to accommodate us without a resy. Food & Drink: 3/5 The food here was honestly mid. We ordered the spicy penne al vodka and the gnocchi di mama. I expected the spicy penne to actually be spicy or have a kick but it was honestly kinda bland. The red Peppe flakes were the "spice". Gnocchi was small but had good texture and flavor. Drinks were sweet and yummy: we got the Strawberry Basil martini which was delicious! Service: 2/5 We were seated upstairs and our server came to greet us. With want to thank the company for the opportunity to have a rewarding and fulfilling career.in a few minutes they came back to take our order and we asked for a few more minutes. I always become suspicious of the " disappearing server " this person welcomes you , maybe charms you a bit ( unless you refuse to buy the bottled water ) which we did btw. This is really a two star review. But because the servers were nice enough to let us continue chatting under the heat lamp for a while, we leave an extra star. But oh dear is the food horrible enough to leave a little to be desired. So I should've known when I sat down and looked at everybody else's pasta and saw nothing except noodles, some sauce, and not much else. But I was quite hungry, and in need of a gluten-free option, that is outdoors, so here we are. My pasta with clams was so salty, that it felt like someone spilled half a bottle of salt into the dish and still decided to serve it and had they tasted it would've realized what kind of a migraine it could cause with that amount of salt. And having paid somewhat of a premium for a bowl of just pasta noodles with a couple small clams ( might I add very small clams) and apparently a whole cup of salt, this is a bit ridiculous. As someone who has never sent food back into the kitchen as far as I can recall for the last decade, I decide to send the food back this time because I was really quite hungry and the food was absolutely an edible. The food came back edible the second time, but that's all I can really say for it because it was not tasty, and I will have not pay five dollars anywhere else under any other circumstance for this dish. So here are my stars for this review. Two for the heat lamp in outdoor setting, one for the service, and zero for the food. I have visited Serafina in meatpacking several times prior to the pandemic - so I am not sure if it's a post pandemic quality drop, or that this location is sincerely that horrible. but I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon to this. read more

The kids had a ball drawing on the paper tablemat and eating pizza, Plain Cheese and Pepperoni, and drinking juice. Adults we drank Chianti, Beer(Stella Artois),Prosecco.
