Worst service ever. We made a full order and had a question about the menu. The server clearly didn't speak English, so she went to ask her manager. The manager came over, repeated the same thing the server said and walked away as we were still asking about the order. The sushi is left out on large trays with plastic wrap, and there's no way to tell how long it's been sitting there. Several tables came in and we were completely ignored. When I went over to the stand to ask about the order, they acted like they'd never seen me. I asked to close out with the drinks. Never coming back. Although the service was extremely nice, I did not enjoy eating here. A tip is already added to your bill through a required service charge for parties of 1 or more, so be aware of that. Usually service charges at KBBQs are for parties of 4 or more. Our soup tasted like water and like soap. The sushi is left out throughout the day which cannot be sanitary, or can get someone sick. Sushi is supposed to be freshly prepared or refrigerated. The meat was pretty much flavorless, and the sushi rolls also tasted like soap. I would really not trust this bbq because it seems like they don't take their cleanliness seriously, which can can their customers extremely sick. After showing my service dog documentation, several employees gave me a hard time for my service dog. My girlfriend and I were also the only customers in the entire restaurant. We had my service dog well behaved under the table. We just got up and left after being pestered for a 4th time. Not allowing a service dog into a venue is against the law. read more

Been wanting to go to this place for a while, finally was able to go this Sunday and I gotta say I loved it! We went for lunch and got the all you can eat buffet I got the tom yum broth my husband got the sukiyaki, both were delicious and filling, the veggie selection was okay, Just wished they had more mushrooms lol. It breaks my heart, but after today I doubt we'll come back. We've been coming here for over 5 years, spend way over $100 with drinks etc for just 2 people and it's always been great. Until today. We chose to come for lunch as apposed to the usual dinner time as the website claimed to have an all you can eat lunch special for $20. First, they told us no lunch special, it's the usual $28 like dinner time price. Take that off your website then. We never over order and leave tons of leftover meats etc and it's always been great, as I mentioned, until today. I ordered 2 x salmon sushi (4 pieces and included in the menu) and chose to just eat the salmon not the rice. When it came to pay our bill, the already from the time we got there, very unfriendly, rude waitress, told me "You have to eat the rice." Very stunned I asked "I'm sorry, what?" She repeated that I "have" to eat the rice otherwise I'll get charged for not eating it. I honestly thought this is a joke. You cannot be serious. I asked what if I put the rice in the soup? Which she didn't know how to answer and just told me again to eat it. Unbelievable. I can eat my sushi how ever I please can't I? I asked to speak to management on this joke of a matter, which then declined to come to our table to chat about it. The unfriendly waitress told us she wouldn't charge us this time (which coming here at dinner time for years has never been an issue anyhow), she's clearly new and obviously needs to learn a few things when it comes to hospitality and friendliness. Me & my boo wanted to try something new. So with a little help from Yelp, we found a spot where the food was Hot, did i mention we had to cook it in a pot? So off our server went to fetch, vegetables beef, seafood & scallops which my boo loves to death. So my book hooked us up & cooked to seasoned a marvelous dish. What the heck happened to this place?!!! I used to come here because they stay open late and they had nighttime specials like 1/2 priced sashimi. I came recently (11/2019) and those specials were gone. It was about 11pm and we were told that there was no longer any chicken and other items. So basically it was only 3 sushi options, pork or beef. I ordered the beef shabu shabu and there was definitely a lot less food this time than before. For $30, they shouldn't be so skimpy. Customers could go to Koreatown for 1/2 the price and receive much more. The staff are nice but didn't seem too knowledgeable about their menu items. I heard other tables arguing with their servers. It was a very disheartening experience. This was one of my favorite places. read more

The worst tasting Shabu Shabu place I've ever been to in my life. I went to this place twice. First time was bad second time was worse. I really tried to give them a chance but I'll never go back. It's just a waste of money and there are many better choices. Shabu Shabu is a simple dish and it's not difficult to make. It's comprised of the soup, the meats/veggies and the sauces. All 3 of these basic items were not good at all. The soups were all plain with differing levels of blandness. The meats were sliced way too thin. Cmon just charge a little more and people will pay. The quality of the all-you-can-eat shabu shabu has definitely gone downhill in the past few years while the price has gone up. The meat is low quality. Be careful that the waitress doesn't try to pull a fast one on you about the pricing. I was the only one in the restaurant for lunch and she told me the lunch was $24 but when other customers started coming in, I overheard her tell them it was s $22. The correct pricing was written inside the paper menu she gave me, but she unknowingly hand wrote $24 on the front cover with a Sharpie right before she gave me the menu. Ima give them two stars because as soon as we walked in our server was trying to get us to order as fast as possible because they were closing in a hour and a half. I barely got a chance before she demanded our order and we weren't told that we'd be sharing our hot pot. Keep in mind a couple walked in 20 minutes after and they weren't rushed. First off, this place is a classic example of deceptive Yelp advertising. On Yelp, ShaBuShi shows off an array of appetizers and Sushi Rolls (many of which look quite appealing) and these appetizers and Sushi Rolls are also shown off on the outside of the restaurant itself as window decals... However once you're seated, you'll be greeted by an incredibly small and limited menu that one side has their shabby Shabu-Shabu options (limited to three types of broth, with the third simply being mix of both; and a wide range of three veggies, Spinach, Bok-Choy and muschrooms). I had originally came for the advertised sushi but decided I should at least attempt the Shabu-Shabu. Oh that was a mistake. The meat came poorly sliced, and clearly as fresh as a frozen kids meal. Which is fitting considering the meat reeked and still had flaks of frost on it. This was my second experience with Shabu Shabu. Although I liked it more then my first time trying it, it still strikes me as expensive for what it is. You basically boil your own meats and vegetables and then eat them. This place was good because the liquid used to boil the foods was flavored, but you still have to sit there and wait for the vegetables to cook. At that point, they are quite literally, "boiling hot." Once everything cools down, you can enjoy it as a nice cup of soup. There was beef as well as seafood. The seafood was small - as was the portion of beef. Don't get me wrong, the quality was very high. I just don't like spending close to $40 to sweat while I cook my own soup over a boiling pot and then leave hungry. I'm giving it 4 stars because if this IS your type of thing, you will probably love this place. It's just not for me. read more

Updated post: With covid it's understandable that a restaurant is under more stress and make mistakes especially when delivery apps are thrown into the mix. I appreciate that once I notified them of a mistake they immediately took responsibility and made it right. I also see on yelp that they are giving back to the community and making sure people don't go hungry in these unprecedented times. I will definitely order from them again! Good size portions, good food. They definitely weren't nazis about how much food they give here. We got the 10 oz large angus sirloin set. the plate of. meat came out large with an accompanying equally large with a hill of vegetables and noodles. it was definitely enough to share. we also got a king of king rolls. Not the best sushi and fore the roll came out a little too rice heavy. The shabu shabu would definitely be the reason to come back. Best bang for the buck extra I would recommend would be the 3$ bamboo chicken. A very good portion of meat that's marinated and you can spoon off into meatballs and cook yourself. The best Shabu experience. The service was so wonderful such kind and attentive; waitresses and waiters. The food overall was amazing! So flavorful and fresh. My brother and I came here for the second time and we got two different broth, 1 angus beef, and an extra vegetable plate. When we say it was delicious, it was delicious.
