I would give this a 4.5 because of how perfectly cooked and sized the wings were. I wasn't a fan of most of the flavors though, and some wings come plain with sauce on the side, rather than tossed in. I got the Cambodian Dirt, Pekang, Sweet and Spicy Garlic, Water Buffalo, Dirty Elvis, and Tamarind. The Sweet and Spicy Garlic, and Water Buffalo were plain with the aforementioned sauce on the side. I also got a side of the Spicy Elephant sauce which is also another wing flavor. I didn't like that sauce (peanut-y). Water buffalo looked like buffalo sauce but didn't quite taste like it to me. Garlic noodles were alright. My two favorite flavors would be the Dirty Elvis and Tamarind. None were actually spicy. Friendly and quick service when picking up!

Shlap Muan is the real deal for chicken wings. I discovered them at Smorgasburg and wanted to visit their sit-down location. The restaurant itself has a few tables, but it gets busy. The interior is no frills, which means they prioritize focus on the food. I got the 2-3 peeps, which includes 16 wings and a large side. I got the garlic noodles, which was a solid and filling choice. There was an option to choose up to 3 flavors for the wings, so I went with Cambodian dirt and wet buffalo. Both were delicious! I will warn you that the buffalos is a bit spicier than expected, and tasted a bit different than what I had at their Smorgasburg booth. Nonetheless, I loved my meal. Overall, I love Shlap Muan's chicken wings. Service was also A+. I'll definitely be back

I came here on a Friday afternoon, and it was really good. We tried the Sweet Spicy Garlic wings, Dirty Elvis wings, and Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings, along with fries, garlic noodles, and shrimp fried rice. The standout items were definitely the Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings and the garlic noodles. The wings were crispy and flavorful, tasting like a mild lemon pepper without being too overpowering. The spice level was mild, but I'd definitely come back for them. The Dirty Elvis wings reminded me of an Asian-style BBQ sauce, kind of like an Asian zing. If you enjoy sweet BBQ flavors, you'll like these. The garlic noodles were amazing, full of flavor and just the right portion size. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant has a good number of tables, so we were able to enjoy our food there comfortably. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return.

I was at a Cambodian new years event and this restaurant was one of the vendors/booth. I'm so glad I tried it! These are one of the best chicken wings I've ever had aside from my own chicken wings. I got their most popular flavor, dirty elvis and cambodian dirt. Lol. Their most popular wings dirty Elvis are indeed delicious! Its robust in flavor. Its sweet, salty, a little tangy and when its right out of the wok, its even more yummy. Its savory with every bite! The cambodian dirt one had a hint of lemongrass. I think these wings can be a tad bit more salty. The cook was quick! He made those wings for me in less than 5m. These guys seem like a bunch of good, easy going, and nice folks. They were in a small tent but they got the job done! They were in a booth today so I didn't get to try the actual restaurant. Although, I will drop by so I can have a feel for the ambiance and ofc for the wings! Excellent wings, probably my 2nd favorite wings right now after wingz n mi in temecula.

Second time having shlap muan and I honestly think that the first time hit better for me. Cambodian dirt flavor was just okay this time around. Service was nice and quick. The store was kept clean. The menu was easy to read. They are still thriving I see because it was pretty busy while I was there. I'll always support my fellow Cambodians!!

Yummy wings! I ordered the Cambodian Dirt, Dirty Elvis, and Water Buffalo. Of the three, my favorite was the Cambodian Dirt. It was zesty, tangy, the and chicken wings were plump! I loved the flavors of all of them though. I love their fun asian fusion flavors mixed in with traditional wing flavors. I would skip on the fried rice and french fries. Service was okay, nothing special. We asked if we could buy some more Cambodian Dirt powder to have with our wings but they said it wasn't allowed. Besides that, decent service. Overall, I would recommend Shlap Muan Chicken Wings.

For the price the wings are delicious big and juicy. I try every wing ill be back for the other three and I will try combining sauces. Great fusion wings at a decent price. Definitely comparable to Wingstop or even better! When placing a pickup order, they ask you when you'll be arriving and I think that's a great idea for having the food fresh and ready upon arrival. We took the food home and it was still crispy and hot. The spicy cambodian dirt weren't spicy at all and tasted like regular lemon pepper. That being said it was still good flavor & fried well. I'd skip this to try another flavor next time though. The dirty elvis was great. I loved the chili peppers that comes with it to give it that optional spice. I'd definitely come back just to reorder this and try their other specialty wings. Ordered a little before 6pm on a Tuesday & they were sold out of garlic noodles :( Was a huge disappointment, but I'll have to come by and try their $30 combo next time.

what's the secret sauce??? I finally got to try the wings at Smorgasburg after a while. These wings did not disappoint. I got the dirty Elvis and Cambodian dirt and the flavors were truly something else. The owners were super nice and even gave me an extra wing! I highly recommend this spot if you're looking to try chicken wings that are not Korean or American.

Omggggg I was craving wings and garlic noodles and these def hit the spot. Parking was kind of tough but it was worth it! Ordered online and it was easy. I ordered the 4pc wings, and the flavor I chose was Cambodian Dirt (lemon pepper). I also ordered a small garlic noodle, and they packed the box! When I picked up my order they let me know they gave me an extra wing. Such amazing service and food especially for the price I'm def going to keep coming back!

Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Schlap Muan? More like I'm gonna schlap you if you don't try this place?!? The chicken wings were chhnganh nahs. Yeah I looked that up just to use it in this review, because it deserved that respect. This place reminded me of an old school LB joint, but the flavors were new school for sure. The wings were crispy and had some of that spicy/sour Asian flavor that you can't really get anywhere else. The garlic noodles were also delicious, I love the amount of garlic they used, but wouldn't recommend if you're out for a first date with someone! And who can complain about some shoestring french fries? Really impressed by how quickly we got our food, especially since we ordered in the restaurant. The cashier was also super cool, I felt like his vibes were so good and I could feel his kindness in every customer interaction while we were eating. There's no bathroom, so might opt for takeout next time. In any case, will be looking forward to visiting again!

As a die-hard fan of Asian fusion wings, I knew I had to visit after seeing this spot featured on Andrew, Steven, and Adam's YouTube channel and hearing the rave reviews across social media. I'm so glad I made the trip! The Food: I ordered the Cambodian Dirt and Spicy Elephant wings. The Cambodian Dirt? Hands down the best fusion take on lemon pepper wings I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside with juicy chicken inside, and the lemongrass-infused flavor is everything my Southeast Asian heart has been craving. These wings are so good that just thinking about them makes me want to come back for another round! The Spicy Elephant was also well-executed, though it wasn't quite my favorite--not due to any lack of quality, but simply because peanut flavors aren't my personal preference. Ambience: This is a small hole-in-the-wall chicken shop tucked into a tiny strip mall. Parking and seating are limited with just a handful of tables, but the incredible flavors make it absolutely worth the trek. Service: Quick and attentive! You can tell the staff genuinely loves what they serve--they were enthusiastically sharing their own favorite wing flavors with customers. The shop is clearly a labor of love, and it SHOWS. Bottom Line: Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates bold, creative Asian fusion flavors!

After seeing Shlap Muan featured on the chicken wings episode from Andrew, Steven, and Adam's YT channel (formerly "Worth It"), the flavor name "Cambodian Dirt" must have left a big impression on my mind. While at Smorgasburg this weekend, Shlap Muan was one of the vendors and I knew I had to give it a try! We ordered 10 wings with the Cambodian Dirt and Jalapeño MSG flavors, as well as tots with the Spicy Cambodian Dirt seasoning. The flavors were explosive, with a beautiful balance of sweet, salty, umami, and tang. The wings themselves were cooked well and not dry. Their service at Smorgasburg was super friendly and quick! While I tried Shlap Muan as a vendor, I definitely would try to stop by their brick and mortar store in Long Beach to try their other flavors.

I heard shlap muan is originally from SF and had to try since it has opened in Long Beach location. They have super crispy and flavorful chicken wings! Seriously the wings were super crispy and delicious! The fried wings come with different flavors and they are super delicious! Loved their dirty Elvis, Pekang Wang, and Cambodian dirt! OMG so good! They also have different sauces you can dip your wings with! Sweet Spicky garlic, orange habanero, water Buffalo, & spicy elephant (peanut). I really liked the Orange Harbanero sauce because it is sweet and orangey! So good! They sell these different seasonings in the bottles so you can take it home! So bomb! So happy to hear that they are permanently open during the weekends! Definitely coming back more to try different flavors! read more

Wow! Best wings I've had. The Cambodian Dirt wings were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Can't remember the name of the sauce on our other wings but it was sweet and spicy and yummy. An hour and a half drive and worth every second. These wings introduced a new standard of what I expect in my wings. The Cambodian dirt is their take on lemon pepper and exceeds any lemon pepper wings I've ever had. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, I felt right at home. Never going back to Wingstop again. Shlap Muan has the best wings and flavors ever! Definitely try the Dirty Elvis. SO good. The Cambodian Dirt is also great if you love a zesty flavor. Borrowing the phrase from Bam Bam Baklava, F* That's Delicious. The Dirty Elvis comes nicely fried and slathered in a sweet and piquant sauce. Would order again if more than 12 wings are needed. Also tried the dry seasoned Cambodian Dirt and Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings. These were a lip smacking take on lemon pepper wings. We would order these every time, if allowed. Can't wait to consume these wings again. The noodles and stir fried dishes are on our list of items to try next time. Tried this place for the first time today and loved it. From the minute I walked in the door, it smelled amazing. I knew right then and there, I was in for a treat. I ordered 16 wing piece with the Cambodian dirt and water Buffalo. Both are fantastic. The former has lemon zest and the latter is reminiscent of classic Buffalo. Came to try this place for the first time after hearing so much about it and I was not disappointed. First thing is that the prices were not bad at all, especially compared to other chicken wing places. As for the flavors, each of them were unique and not something that you could easily have at other places. The Cambodian dirt was my favorite out of my choices and the dry rub was really packed in. We got the Dirty Elvis as a free sample while we were eating and this flavor triumphed over the ones we ordered. It was a great sticky sweet wing and I would definitely order it when I come back. Certainly, the South Bay and the OC have become a hotbed for Korean wings, but Shlap Muan blows all the chains out of the water. Crispy, juicy and covered in delectable sauces, this place is one to watch out for. Run, don't walk to check it out. read more

Got to tr the shap muans amazing chicken wings. The chicken wings were very well seasoned, very crispy and not oily. The also have delicious sauces that they make in house that are unique and soOooooo YUMMY. Although all of them taste great, my favorite sauce was the water buffalo. It was twist on traditional buffalo wings. They really give a different taste of chicken wings that can't found elsewhere. My favorite wing was the dirty elvis. It tasted like it had a soy sauce base. read more

Last night was my second time at this restaurant. The food was amazing both times I went. We got the family meal - three different flavors for chicken wings and garlic noodles. It was a perfect portion for four people. The owner and chef was super kind to us even when he was about to close his restaurant for Christmas Eve. I've had this place bookmarked for a long time and finally made it down with my parents in town. The owner was incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. We had the family order with three different flavors and the garlic noodles. The noodles were the perfect texture and the flavors were original. New to this spot. Girl taking the order was very nice, patient, and knowledgeable when asked on where to start. Service was quick. Got my order within 15 minutes. Ended up trying random flavors. Cambodian dirt was my favorite. The wings were fresh crispy on the skin and juicy inside. You have to try out their sauces. The flavors are out of this world, perfect for dipping chicken wings. Will go back to get a couple of bottles. read more

Best wings I've EVER had. I tried the Cambodian Dirt, the Pekang, the Orange Habanero, and the Elephant one (I forget the full proper name)--all excellent rubs and sauces full of complex and layers flavors. Chicken was perfectly crisp, and STAYED crispy and hot the entire time I was eating. Next time I'll be trying the rest of the flavors because I'm certain they'll all be terrific. As much as I wanted to like this place, unfortunately I did not. Now don't get me wrong the wings were really good; crispy, juicy and big pieces of chicken. I got the Cambodian dirt and the Peking the spices were really good. What I love is the mom and pop vibe to the place. The owners were friendly and attentive and wanted to make sure you were satisfied with the food and put in an effort to get to know you. Everything was right but there was is one huge deal breaker to me. They do not offer any dipping sauces. To me wings and sauces go hand in hand. They don't offer ranch, honey mustard, blue cheese nothing. You are forced to eat just wings and after 3-4 wings no matter how juicy the chicken is it gets dry and it's a struggle to finish. I don't know if they don't offer sauces because they really want their seasoning to be the star of the show but wings and sauces are standard practice and for that reason and that reason alone I unfortunately will not be returning. Went in for the first time today. Mother, father and son operation, and they are all very hospitable. We ordered a wing combo with rice and fried egg on top. Dry rub, I believe it was Cambodian dirt, their version of lemon pepper was very good and a few recommended sauces on the side. These are the best wings I've ever had, hands down. My favorite flavors are the Cambodian Dirt and the Orange Habanero, and I always get the garlic noodles with chicken or beef as well. I've had this restaurant on my radar for a couple of years, but never had a chance to try it because of either Covid or my lazy butt just hasn't gone. I finally went there today and should have kicked my lazy butt for not coming sooner. My girlfriend and I got the 16 piece wings, along with Garlic Noodles side dish. For that chicken size, we got to choose 2 spices or sauces: 8 pieces with the Cambodian Dirt dry spice rub, and the other 8 with Spicy Elephant wet sauce. The chicken wings itself were fried just right. It was light, crunchy, and not greasy at all. The spice/sauce only made the chicken that much tastier. I forgot to ask for the Spicy Elephant sauce on the side and was worried it would be too spicy for me. I'm such a lightweight. But I was happy to find that it wasn't spicy at all. The peanutty flavor was so yummy that I also dipped my garlic noodles in the wet sauce. The garlic noodles complimented the chicken perfectly. I met the owner, Hawk, while dining there, and we chatted for a bit. He's such a nice guy. His friendly demeanor gave me a good vibe about the food and dining experience. Shlap Muan is a family-run business originally from the Bay and have made their way down to Long Beach/Lakewood. As someone visiting from the Bay, it's great to see them Dow here thriving. The food was 12 out of 10, fantastic! The wings are perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and layered with deep, distinctive Cambodian-inspired flavors. The Cambodian Dirt dry rub stands out for its balance of citrus, spice, and earthy complexity, while the sauced wings -- especially Dirty Elvis and Tamarind Tiger -- bring just the right blend of sweet and tangy.
