I would give this a 4.5 because of how perfectly cooked and sized the wings were. I wasn't a fan of most of the flavors though, and some wings come plain with sauce on the side, rather than tossed in. I got the Cambodian Dirt, Pekang, Sweet and Spicy Garlic, Water Buffalo, Dirty Elvis, and Tamarind. The Sweet and Spicy Garlic, and Water Buffalo were plain with the aforementioned sauce on the side. I also got a side of the Spicy Elephant sauce which is also another wing flavor. I didn't like that sauce (peanut-y). Water buffalo looked like buffalo sauce but didn't quite taste like it to me. Garlic noodles were alright. My two favorite flavors would be the Dirty Elvis and Tamarind. None were actually spicy. Friendly and quick service when picking up!

Shlap Muan is the real deal for chicken wings. I discovered them at Smorgasburg and wanted to visit their sit-down location. The restaurant itself has a few tables, but it gets busy. The interior is no frills, which means they prioritize focus on the food. I got the 2-3 peeps, which includes 16 wings and a large side. I got the garlic noodles, which was a solid and filling choice. There was an option to choose up to 3 flavors for the wings, so I went with Cambodian dirt and wet buffalo. Both were delicious! I will warn you that the buffalos is a bit spicier than expected, and tasted a bit different than what I had at their Smorgasburg booth. Nonetheless, I loved my meal. Overall, I love Shlap Muan's chicken wings. Service was also A+. I'll definitely be back

I came here on a Friday afternoon, and it was really good. We tried the Sweet Spicy Garlic wings, Dirty Elvis wings, and Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings, along with fries, garlic noodles, and shrimp fried rice. The standout items were definitely the Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings and the garlic noodles. The wings were crispy and flavorful, tasting like a mild lemon pepper without being too overpowering. The spice level was mild, but I'd definitely come back for them. The Dirty Elvis wings reminded me of an Asian-style BBQ sauce, kind of like an Asian zing. If you enjoy sweet BBQ flavors, you'll like these. The garlic noodles were amazing, full of flavor and just the right portion size. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant has a good number of tables, so we were able to enjoy our food there comfortably. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return.

I was at a Cambodian new years event and this restaurant was one of the vendors/booth. I'm so glad I tried it! These are one of the best chicken wings I've ever had aside from my own chicken wings. I got their most popular flavor, dirty elvis and cambodian dirt. Lol. Their most popular wings dirty Elvis are indeed delicious! Its robust in flavor. Its sweet, salty, a little tangy and when its right out of the wok, its even more yummy. Its savory with every bite! The cambodian dirt one had a hint of lemongrass. I think these wings can be a tad bit more salty. The cook was quick! He made those wings for me in less than 5m. These guys seem like a bunch of good, easy going, and nice folks. They were in a small tent but they got the job done! They were in a booth today so I didn't get to try the actual restaurant. Although, I will drop by so I can have a feel for the ambiance and ofc for the wings! Excellent wings, probably my 2nd favorite wings right now after wingz n mi in temecula.

Second time having shlap muan and I honestly think that the first time hit better for me. Cambodian dirt flavor was just okay this time around. Service was nice and quick. The store was kept clean. The menu was easy to read. They are still thriving I see because it was pretty busy while I was there. I'll always support my fellow Cambodians!!

Yummy wings! I ordered the Cambodian Dirt, Dirty Elvis, and Water Buffalo. Of the three, my favorite was the Cambodian Dirt. It was zesty, tangy, the and chicken wings were plump! I loved the flavors of all of them though. I love their fun asian fusion flavors mixed in with traditional wing flavors. I would skip on the fried rice and french fries. Service was okay, nothing special. We asked if we could buy some more Cambodian Dirt powder to have with our wings but they said it wasn't allowed. Besides that, decent service. Overall, I would recommend Shlap Muan Chicken Wings.

For the price the wings are delicious big and juicy. I try every wing ill be back for the other three and I will try combining sauces. Great fusion wings at a decent price. Definitely comparable to Wingstop or even better! When placing a pickup order, they ask you when you'll be arriving and I think that's a great idea for having the food fresh and ready upon arrival. We took the food home and it was still crispy and hot. The spicy cambodian dirt weren't spicy at all and tasted like regular lemon pepper. That being said it was still good flavor & fried well. I'd skip this to try another flavor next time though. The dirty elvis was great. I loved the chili peppers that comes with it to give it that optional spice. I'd definitely come back just to reorder this and try their other specialty wings. Ordered a little before 6pm on a Tuesday & they were sold out of garlic noodles :( Was a huge disappointment, but I'll have to come by and try their $30 combo next time.

what's the secret sauce??? I finally got to try the wings at Smorgasburg after a while. These wings did not disappoint. I got the dirty Elvis and Cambodian dirt and the flavors were truly something else. The owners were super nice and even gave me an extra wing! I highly recommend this spot if you're looking to try chicken wings that are not Korean or American.

Omggggg I was craving wings and garlic noodles and these def hit the spot. Parking was kind of tough but it was worth it! Ordered online and it was easy. I ordered the 4pc wings, and the flavor I chose was Cambodian Dirt (lemon pepper). I also ordered a small garlic noodle, and they packed the box! When I picked up my order they let me know they gave me an extra wing. Such amazing service and food especially for the price I'm def going to keep coming back!

Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Schlap Muan? More like I'm gonna schlap you if you don't try this place?!? The chicken wings were chhnganh nahs. Yeah I looked that up just to use it in this review, because it deserved that respect. This place reminded me of an old school LB joint, but the flavors were new school for sure. The wings were crispy and had some of that spicy/sour Asian flavor that you can't really get anywhere else. The garlic noodles were also delicious, I love the amount of garlic they used, but wouldn't recommend if you're out for a first date with someone! And who can complain about some shoestring french fries? Really impressed by how quickly we got our food, especially since we ordered in the restaurant. The cashier was also super cool, I felt like his vibes were so good and I could feel his kindness in every customer interaction while we were eating. There's no bathroom, so might opt for takeout next time. In any case, will be looking forward to visiting again!

As a die-hard fan of Asian fusion wings, I knew I had to visit after seeing this spot featured on Andrew, Steven, and Adam's YouTube channel and hearing the rave reviews across social media. I'm so glad I made the trip! The Food: I ordered the Cambodian Dirt and Spicy Elephant wings. The Cambodian Dirt? Hands down the best fusion take on lemon pepper wings I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside with juicy chicken inside, and the lemongrass-infused flavor is everything my Southeast Asian heart has been craving. These wings are so good that just thinking about them makes me want to come back for another round! The Spicy Elephant was also well-executed, though it wasn't quite my favorite--not due to any lack of quality, but simply because peanut flavors aren't my personal preference. Ambience: This is a small hole-in-the-wall chicken shop tucked into a tiny strip mall. Parking and seating are limited with just a handful of tables, but the incredible flavors make it absolutely worth the trek. Service: Quick and attentive! You can tell the staff genuinely loves what they serve--they were enthusiastically sharing their own favorite wing flavors with customers. The shop is clearly a labor of love, and it SHOWS. Bottom Line: Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates bold, creative Asian fusion flavors!

After seeing Shlap Muan featured on the chicken wings episode from Andrew, Steven, and Adam's YT channel (formerly "Worth It"), the flavor name "Cambodian Dirt" must have left a big impression on my mind. While at Smorgasburg this weekend, Shlap Muan was one of the vendors and I knew I had to give it a try! We ordered 10 wings with the Cambodian Dirt and Jalapeño MSG flavors, as well as tots with the Spicy Cambodian Dirt seasoning. The flavors were explosive, with a beautiful balance of sweet, salty, umami, and tang. The wings themselves were cooked well and not dry. Their service at Smorgasburg was super friendly and quick! While I tried Shlap Muan as a vendor, I definitely would try to stop by their brick and mortar store in Long Beach to try their other flavors.

Came in looking for some Chinese food only to be greeted by a brand new restaurant! It's a cozy wife/husband owned business that primarily offers flavoured wings that are inspired by Cambodian cuisine. Service: 1/1 star The husband cooks in the back, while the wife is up front. They are extremely friendly, welcoming, and quick so that you get your food asap! Food 3/4 stars Unfortunately, I did not get their wings. This review will be based off their garlic noodles with chicken, and Thai tea. The garlic noodles were good, but nothing crazy! There was enough noodles and pieces of chicken for two! Unlike the majority of other restaurants that offer garlic noodles, this place does not drown them in butter, and raw to barely cooked pieces of garlic. The garlic was very subtle and not overpowering, so the green onion and cilantro also shined. It help cut through the savouriness of the noodles and garlic. The chicken was very cronchy and marinated lightly. The Thai tea was perfect in my opinion! It was a nice ratio between tea and creamer or whatever they used. Excellent wings and big wings too. The spicy garlic was amazing , just the right amount of heat. I would dip everything in that sauce. The dirty Elvis has a sweet caramel crustiness to it that had a ton of flavor. Definitely going back. Ordered online and the food was ready fast. read more

Came in with low expectations but was blown away by the flavor of the wings. I went with the spicy cambodian dirt and spicy elephant. Highly recommend both if you're looking for a kick and a good blast of lemongrass and spicy peanut flavors. The garlic noodles was definitely a good compliment to the spices from the wings. The Durian smoothie is also just as amazing and I definitely recommend going with their suggestions when it comes to fruit mixes for the smoothies! read more

There are many chicken wing places in Long Beach, and this is still one of the best in the city, maybe even the county. Their unique flavors mean you have to try them at least once if you love chicken wings. The Cambodian Dirt Jalapeno and MSG are particularly good. If you like the lemon pepper wings at other places, the Cambodian Dirt or Spicy Cambodian Dirt are like that but WAY more flavorful. The garlic noodles are also fantastic. The service is great, and the people are friendly. You can sit down or take your order to go. If you're looking for wings, you won't regret coming here. read more

Shlap SHLAPS... sorry Had been craving wings all week. I know that sounds like an exaggeration but it wasn't. The lady and I had been spying this place after hearing good things. We both got the Fil Grande... 8 wings, rice, fried egg, and 2 sauces... Cambodian dirt dry rub is awesome. The wings are perfectly crispy and seasoned... then their sauces are also reallllll good. My sister suggested this place and at first I was a bit apprehensive just because I love the original Buffalo wing taste. But I was definitely wrong! This place was SO YUMMY. My family and I tried a few different dishes and wing flavors to try them out. My personal favorite was the water Buffalo flavored wings !! The wings were good, crispy, and decently priced. I tried the Spicy Cambodian Dirt and Sweet & Spicy Garlic. I did enjoy these flavors but they both did not have the heat I was expecting from a Southeast Asian seasoning/sauce. The Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings I ordered also had very little seasoning so some of my wings were tasted plain. This may have been a one-time thing, but I would visit again and give it another try. read more

Had high hopes. Another TikTok recommendation. Wings are just standard deep fried wings. They have option of four dry rubs, and four sauce mixes. I tried the Cambodian rub, which was average at best, if you like heat, there's really none. Sauce mixes are limited, flavorful, but does not pack much heat. These wings are fantastic. I tried the Dirty Elvis and I believe the Sweet Spicy Garlic wings. The Sweet Spicy Garlic were fine, I guess, I don't really remember them because for a brief time there was no room in my brain for thoughts of anything but Dirty Elvis. I split them with my room mate, hoovered my share down, then found myself standing over the trash can eating the sauce from the empty container like a bear attacking a beehive. I'm typing this review covered in a slowly solidifying layer of caramel but I don't think there's much point in getting wings from anywhere else while this place is around. read more

Great chicken! I mean really GREAT! You'll be pleasantly surprised. The Dirty Elvis is a must but the Cambodian Dirt is also good. Not only is the food great, the service and prices are also great. Add a large fried egg for just $2 and 24oz Thai Tea for just $4! You can't find this kind of value anywhere else. I recommend coming a few minutes before lunch as the line can get long because everything is made fresh and demand is high. read more

My husband and his friends went here for lunch and brought me home some food. I got cambodian dirt & spicy Garlic. Also Pad see wee type noodles and it was really really good ! The chicken is crispy, juicy, & taste amazing. One night they forgot to give us our 8 pcs of wings & they quickly refunded us and kept us in mind for our next order. So my dad recommended this place to me and said they had the best wings and I can agree!! I ordered the MSG Jalapeño, Spicy Cambodian Dirt, and Spicy Sweet Garlic which were all delicious but the MSG Jalapeño was one of my favorites and I highly recommend if you like salty flavors. Only complaint is I wish the spicy flavors were more spicy ‍. The service was phenomenal and they made my order fresh even though they were close to closing, with a smile on their face! Absolutely love this place! This is by far the best wing shop I've ever been to and I probably tried wings from over 50 to 75 different places. The fact that they are Cambodian owned and believers are influenced by Cambodian food makes it all the better. It's a very unique flavor fusion that is way better than what most wing restaurants are offering. The owners are so kind and friendly every single time I come in even remember my name, or maybe I got too much lol. I've tried their Cambodian dirt flavor and their dirty, Elvis and the spicy garlic one I think? Point is, they're all great, and you will not be disappointed. I heard about this place from people raving about it on Reddit and they were right! The spicy Cambodian dirt and sweet spicy garlic flavor is super good. It's not not spicy at all but I regularly eat Thai chilis for fun so that's more of a me problem. The beef me katang is also really good. The owner is super nice and friendly. Our group of four had a chance to stop by for an early dine-in dinner, and found the chicken to well prepared and tasty. Originally founded in 1976 in Los Angeles by a enterprising franchisee who wanted to create his own fast food brand, Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken soon became very popular with LA residents. As sometimes happens with immigrant communities by word of mouth and 'paying it forward', the burgeoning Cambodians began to be the majority owners of franchisees, until it resulted in the brand being sold to a Cambodian in 2009. Considering the largest concentration of Cambodians outside of Cambodia is in Long Beach, California, I wanted to try this particular location. They also sell donuts here, and my credit card bill actually listed the donut shop as the vendor...this for me is not a selling point, but was not noticeable during our visit. It's a walk-up set-up, where you order/pay for your food through security windows. We ordered a 12-piece family combo for $35.45, which included 3 pieces of breast/thigh/wing/leg, 2 small orders of fries, a coleslaw and 6 rolls. They also sell fried catfish and shrimp, so got a 4 pc shrimp ($3.85). They only sell drinks by cans or bottles, so got 4 cans of Coke/Pepsi/Squirt. It is clearly stated that each order is fried fresh, taking about 20 minutes. Our order was ready in 15 minutes, and we decided to dine-in (a small makeshift outdoor dining area with temporary tables was set-up). The chicken was well brined and had been fried well (leaving plenty of space between the chicken), with the outer coat being crunchy with a little bit of spice. For me it tasted very similar to the popular national chain, but with more consistency. The 'small' fries were not that at all, but very large...with one being enough to feed the four of us. The fries looked underdone, but were not. There were no condiments available, so the saving grace was the thin hot sauce that you could dip your fries and chicken into. The rolls were forgettable, and the coleslaw was grocery store quality (which I actually like). In fact, the chicken and sides reminded me of what you could get at a grocery store deli, except always getting the chicken fresh, instead of ones that have been fried too many to a basket and sitting too long under a heat lamp. Freshness definitely matters here. There was plenty of food for the 4 of us, with us taking half of the meal home. It reheated very well, providing us a good lunch the following day.

They made their rounds to make sure waters were filled and all guests were taken care of. It helps they were also handsome too! LOL. I generally find many places nice in the competitive LA, but not nice enough for me to travel from the SGV. However, I will go out of my way to visit KL again to try the rest of their menu (drunken noodles, pork jerky, crab fried rice, papaya salad, etc.) because they left a good impression with me. Prices are reasonable and the quality of food, cocktails, clean restrooms, ambiance was coastal modern, has its own designated parking lot, and service was lovely.

So it's fitting that a rendering of that famous salad is making a Long Beach Italian eatery famous 100 years later. The fire roasted snap peas were amazing. We got a seafood pasta dish I can't remember what it was called but it was also delicious. The highlight of the night was Connor and the wine. They set us up with several tastes and enlightened us about this new orange wine trend. He was a fount of knowledge and made the counter ordering experience more fun. I would return for Connor and the wine and snap peas tomorrow. The space is loud, high energy and fully staffed so even though you order at the counter later it feels more like full service. No one really came around to offer more wine or dessert so not sure if they have dessert. Could have gone for another glass of wine but then not getting one saved me $15-18 and I could still ride my bike home. Their bread is supposed to be amazing so have to try that next time. I've had this restaurant on my radar for a couple of years, but never had a chance to try it because of either Covid or my lazy butt just hasn't gone. I finally went there today and should have kicked my lazy butt for not coming sooner. My girlfriend and I got the 16 piece wings, along with Garlic Noodles side dish. For that chicken size, we got to choose 2 spices or sauces: 8 pieces with the Cambodian Dirt dry spice rub, and the other 8 with Spicy Elephant wet sauce. The chicken wings itself were fried just right. It was light, crunchy, and not greasy at all. The spice/sauce only made the chicken that much tastier. I forgot to ask for the Spicy Elephant sauce on the side and was worried it would be too spicy for me. I'm such a lightweight. But I was happy to find that it wasn't spicy at all. The peanutty flavor was so yummy that I also dipped my garlic noodles in the wet sauce. The garlic noodles complimented the chicken perfectly. I met the owner, Hawk, while dining there, and we chatted for a bit. He's such a nice guy. His friendly demeanor gave me a good vibe about the food and dining experience. Shlap Muan is a family-run business originally from the Bay and have made their way down to Long Beach/Lakewood. As someone visiting from the Bay, it's great to see them Dow here thriving. The food was 12 out of 10, fantastic! The wings are perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and layered with deep, distinctive Cambodian-inspired flavors. The Cambodian Dirt dry rub stands out for its balance of citrus, spice, and earthy complexity, while the sauced wings -- especially Dirty Elvis and Tamarind Tiger -- bring just the right blend of sweet and tangy. The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming thanks to the owner Hawk and his team who genuinely seem to care about the customer experience. Shlap Muan Wings is hands down my go-to spot for chicken wings! Honestly, it's better than Wingstop in my opinion. The service is always fast, and the staff is incredibly friendly, making each visit a great experience. The owner, Hawk, has done an amazing job putting his unique Cambodian twist on every wing seasoning.
