I would give this a 4.5 because of how perfectly cooked and sized the wings were. I wasn't a fan of most of the flavors though, and some wings come plain with sauce on the side, rather than tossed in. I got the Cambodian Dirt, Pekang, Sweet and Spicy Garlic, Water Buffalo, Dirty Elvis, and Tamarind. The Sweet and Spicy Garlic, and Water Buffalo were plain with the aforementioned sauce on the side. I also got a side of the Spicy Elephant sauce which is also another wing flavor. I didn't like that sauce (peanut-y). Water buffalo looked like buffalo sauce but didn't quite taste like it to me. Garlic noodles were alright. My two favorite flavors would be the Dirty Elvis and Tamarind. None were actually spicy. Friendly and quick service when picking up!

Shlap Muan is the real deal for chicken wings. I discovered them at Smorgasburg and wanted to visit their sit-down location. The restaurant itself has a few tables, but it gets busy. The interior is no frills, which means they prioritize focus on the food. I got the 2-3 peeps, which includes 16 wings and a large side. I got the garlic noodles, which was a solid and filling choice. There was an option to choose up to 3 flavors for the wings, so I went with Cambodian dirt and wet buffalo. Both were delicious! I will warn you that the buffalos is a bit spicier than expected, and tasted a bit different than what I had at their Smorgasburg booth. Nonetheless, I loved my meal. Overall, I love Shlap Muan's chicken wings. Service was also A+. I'll definitely be back

I came here on a Friday afternoon, and it was really good. We tried the Sweet Spicy Garlic wings, Dirty Elvis wings, and Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings, along with fries, garlic noodles, and shrimp fried rice. The standout items were definitely the Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings and the garlic noodles. The wings were crispy and flavorful, tasting like a mild lemon pepper without being too overpowering. The spice level was mild, but I'd definitely come back for them. The Dirty Elvis wings reminded me of an Asian-style BBQ sauce, kind of like an Asian zing. If you enjoy sweet BBQ flavors, you'll like these. The garlic noodles were amazing, full of flavor and just the right portion size. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant has a good number of tables, so we were able to enjoy our food there comfortably. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return.

I was at a Cambodian new years event and this restaurant was one of the vendors/booth. I'm so glad I tried it! These are one of the best chicken wings I've ever had aside from my own chicken wings. I got their most popular flavor, dirty elvis and cambodian dirt. Lol. Their most popular wings dirty Elvis are indeed delicious! Its robust in flavor. Its sweet, salty, a little tangy and when its right out of the wok, its even more yummy. Its savory with every bite! The cambodian dirt one had a hint of lemongrass. I think these wings can be a tad bit more salty. The cook was quick! He made those wings for me in less than 5m. These guys seem like a bunch of good, easy going, and nice folks. They were in a small tent but they got the job done! They were in a booth today so I didn't get to try the actual restaurant. Although, I will drop by so I can have a feel for the ambiance and ofc for the wings! Excellent wings, probably my 2nd favorite wings right now after wingz n mi in temecula.

Second time having shlap muan and I honestly think that the first time hit better for me. Cambodian dirt flavor was just okay this time around. Service was nice and quick. The store was kept clean. The menu was easy to read. They are still thriving I see because it was pretty busy while I was there. I'll always support my fellow Cambodians!!

Yummy wings! I ordered the Cambodian Dirt, Dirty Elvis, and Water Buffalo. Of the three, my favorite was the Cambodian Dirt. It was zesty, tangy, the and chicken wings were plump! I loved the flavors of all of them though. I love their fun asian fusion flavors mixed in with traditional wing flavors. I would skip on the fried rice and french fries. Service was okay, nothing special. We asked if we could buy some more Cambodian Dirt powder to have with our wings but they said it wasn't allowed. Besides that, decent service. Overall, I would recommend Shlap Muan Chicken Wings.

For the price the wings are delicious big and juicy. I try every wing ill be back for the other three and I will try combining sauces. Great fusion wings at a decent price. Definitely comparable to Wingstop or even better! When placing a pickup order, they ask you when you'll be arriving and I think that's a great idea for having the food fresh and ready upon arrival. We took the food home and it was still crispy and hot. The spicy cambodian dirt weren't spicy at all and tasted like regular lemon pepper. That being said it was still good flavor & fried well. I'd skip this to try another flavor next time though. The dirty elvis was great. I loved the chili peppers that comes with it to give it that optional spice. I'd definitely come back just to reorder this and try their other specialty wings. Ordered a little before 6pm on a Tuesday & they were sold out of garlic noodles :( Was a huge disappointment, but I'll have to come by and try their $30 combo next time.

what's the secret sauce??? I finally got to try the wings at Smorgasburg after a while. These wings did not disappoint. I got the dirty Elvis and Cambodian dirt and the flavors were truly something else. The owners were super nice and even gave me an extra wing! I highly recommend this spot if you're looking to try chicken wings that are not Korean or American.

Omggggg I was craving wings and garlic noodles and these def hit the spot. Parking was kind of tough but it was worth it! Ordered online and it was easy. I ordered the 4pc wings, and the flavor I chose was Cambodian Dirt (lemon pepper). I also ordered a small garlic noodle, and they packed the box! When I picked up my order they let me know they gave me an extra wing. Such amazing service and food especially for the price I'm def going to keep coming back!

Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Schlap Muan? More like I'm gonna schlap you if you don't try this place?!? The chicken wings were chhnganh nahs. Yeah I looked that up just to use it in this review, because it deserved that respect. This place reminded me of an old school LB joint, but the flavors were new school for sure. The wings were crispy and had some of that spicy/sour Asian flavor that you can't really get anywhere else. The garlic noodles were also delicious, I love the amount of garlic they used, but wouldn't recommend if you're out for a first date with someone! And who can complain about some shoestring french fries? Really impressed by how quickly we got our food, especially since we ordered in the restaurant. The cashier was also super cool, I felt like his vibes were so good and I could feel his kindness in every customer interaction while we were eating. There's no bathroom, so might opt for takeout next time. In any case, will be looking forward to visiting again!

As a die-hard fan of Asian fusion wings, I knew I had to visit after seeing this spot featured on Andrew, Steven, and Adam's YouTube channel and hearing the rave reviews across social media. I'm so glad I made the trip! The Food: I ordered the Cambodian Dirt and Spicy Elephant wings. The Cambodian Dirt? Hands down the best fusion take on lemon pepper wings I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside with juicy chicken inside, and the lemongrass-infused flavor is everything my Southeast Asian heart has been craving. These wings are so good that just thinking about them makes me want to come back for another round! The Spicy Elephant was also well-executed, though it wasn't quite my favorite--not due to any lack of quality, but simply because peanut flavors aren't my personal preference. Ambience: This is a small hole-in-the-wall chicken shop tucked into a tiny strip mall. Parking and seating are limited with just a handful of tables, but the incredible flavors make it absolutely worth the trek. Service: Quick and attentive! You can tell the staff genuinely loves what they serve--they were enthusiastically sharing their own favorite wing flavors with customers. The shop is clearly a labor of love, and it SHOWS. Bottom Line: Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates bold, creative Asian fusion flavors!

After seeing Shlap Muan featured on the chicken wings episode from Andrew, Steven, and Adam's YT channel (formerly "Worth It"), the flavor name "Cambodian Dirt" must have left a big impression on my mind. While at Smorgasburg this weekend, Shlap Muan was one of the vendors and I knew I had to give it a try! We ordered 10 wings with the Cambodian Dirt and Jalapeño MSG flavors, as well as tots with the Spicy Cambodian Dirt seasoning. The flavors were explosive, with a beautiful balance of sweet, salty, umami, and tang. The wings themselves were cooked well and not dry. Their service at Smorgasburg was super friendly and quick! While I tried Shlap Muan as a vendor, I definitely would try to stop by their brick and mortar store in Long Beach to try their other flavors.

So proud and happy to see when new Khmer businesses pop up and share the joys of our culture to our community. You won't be disappointed trying Khmer chicken. It's crunchy, flavorful, and unique. Every Khmer household I knew had their own take on their chicken. I love this family's take. It's a great way of putting Khmer cuisine on the map. My personal favorite is the water buffalo and Cambodian dirt so far. Eager to taste the rest. Only recommendation is to add a fermented vegetable side. read more

I got to check out Shlap Muan in North Long Beach which is a Cambodian chicken wing joint. I was really excited when I found out that they'd be making a permanent residence here in LB as I grew up eating this particular kind of chicken wing. Shlap muan literally means chicken wing in the Khmer language, and the way they prepare it--they deep-fry the wings until they're a golden crisp and toss it in their various spice blends and sauces. In regards to spices, I got the "Cambodian Dirt" wings which is a lemongrass and pepper blend that adds a nice mellow citrus aroma to the wings, and the Pekang wings which carry a numbing Szechuan spice. As for sauces, I got a sampler of all of them including the sweet spicy garlic, dirty Elvis, orange habanero, spicy elephant, and water buffalo sauces. They were all quite tasty with the orange habanero and spicy elephant being my personal favorites. The former was sweet and tangy with a momentary spice that hits you at the first bite. The latter was more gentle on the spice and has a creamy peanut flavor profile. In brief, if you're a fan of wings, I recommend giving Shlap Muan a try! They aren't around every day so keep an eye out for their operating hours on their page! read more

Food was amazing! The seasoning they add one the wings are Sooo yummy, some of the best seasoning I've ever had on wings! We got the jalapeño MSG, Cambodian dirt wings, and some sweet spicy garlic wings. They said the Cambodian dirt was the most popular and most order chicken wings. So we had to try those, but I think the jalapeño MSG was better so for sure try those. We also got some white rice which was good, also tried the garlic noodles. The service was really good, going in the nice lady explained the popular flavors and etc. she was very helpful and because of her we got amazing tasting wings. The inside of the place was pretty good, it's wasn't dirty, and had a fridge inside with a good amount of drink to choose from. Bomb AF. That's the only description for the food here. We stumbled across this place and we fell in love. First we tried the spicy shrimp fried rice and it was to die for. We were fortunate to also sample the Cambodian dirt wings that day. After that we've been hooked. So far we've tried the Dirty Elvis (wings), spicy chicken garlic noodles, the Mee Ketang, and spicy Cambodian dirt (wings). I personally love the Cambodian dirt wings (non-spicy version) it's my go to item. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming it gives the place a great atmosphere. They cook everything fresh so be patient because for sure it's worth it. We've taken 3 of our friends on different days to try this place and even delivered wings to another friend because it was that delicious. We'd say to them "you have to try this Cambodian Wing place by our place." For sure you have to eat here and guess what you won't regret it. read more

service was great, response time was reasonable. but as a wing lover one thing that troubled me was how DRY the wings were, almost no sauce at all it was such a let down because i'd been looking forward to trying these wings for quite some time and the sauce flavors sounded amazing so to receive dry wings especially for the price serious let down! I ordered from Shalp Muan earlier today and I had a great experience! I ordered a total of 16 wings (8 Cambodian Dirt, 8 Spicy Cambodian Dirt). I called in ahead of time and arrived about 20 minutes after I places the call. I waited about an extra 10 minutes for the food to finish which I didn't mind. The staff is very friendly! The lady I spoke to on the phone was different from the older woman who helped me at the front, both very kind. The older woman explained that her son owns the Slap Muan in SF! As for the wings, they were amazing! I will say that my boyfriend and I did not taste a difference between the spicy and regular Cambodian dirt. Regardless, it was still delicious! The wings were nice and crispy on the outside, but juicy on the inside. We tried all four sauces and the buffalo and sweet n spicy garlic were my personal favorites. As someone who's Cambodian, I definitely feel like these wings are meant to be eaten with rice which is why I will order one of the rice plates next time! read more

Had the amazing privilege to chat with Hawk a bit. Super cool and sweet guy, love his energy. He helped me order and pick out some flavors. I got the spicy Cambodian dirt and the water buffalo. The buffalo isn't a traditional buffalo and it's nothing like I've ever tasted before but holy crap is it good. Very tangy , could've been a bit more spicy for ME but I love spice so for the average customer it's perfect. The spicy Cambodian dirt was amazing. Amazing combination of spices. I ordered 3 types of wings online to pick up en route to a picnic, and was not disappointed! We got the Cambodian dirt, orange habanero, and Jalapeño msg. I arrived 30 after the order was ready, and traveled another 45 minutes after that and the wings were still warm and the two dry rub ones still crispy upon arrival. They were super mindful of packaging to make sure everything held up as long as possible, and very efficient and friendly at pickup. The orange habanero didn't hold up as well, but the Cambodian dirt and jalapeño msg were delicious! Delighted to find this hole in the wall for wings and will be back for more. Thank you! read more

First time trying this was at the Ten Mile for Khmer New Year. And let me say this..hands down the best wings I've had in a very long time. Great flavors with very surprising sized wings. So good that I had took family to get some at their restaurant on South Street (I live on Atlantic and Willow but they're worth the drive). The fambam loved it too and they're picky eaters. THESE WINGS ARE SO GOOD THEY MAKE ME WANT TO SLAP MY MOMMA!! By far the best wings I have ever tried. They are quick and very very nice and open to any questions or concerns. It had a comfy, modern, clean, and beachy elegance to it (the lights and that chandelier) without it being stuffy or looking disjointed in terms of interior decor. The midnight chicken (fried chicken wings but huge wings!) was delicious. Came with sticky rice and dipping sauce. Also a generous portion. Food here is so good. Prices are also fair. Again, guilty for always ordering too much. But I want to try it all. Lol. Ate the left overs the next day and it was just as good. Great service. We love this place.

So it's fitting that a rendering of that famous salad is making a Long Beach Italian eatery famous 100 years later. But it is fun to look at and have a couple bites and it's more similar to the earlier versions of the Caesar salad. I appreciate that it is not over dressed like so many salads at restaurants can be. The fire roasted snap peas were amazing. We got a seafood pasta dish I can't remember what it was called but it was also delicious. The highlight of the night was Connor and the wine. They set us up with several tastes and enlightened us about this new orange wine trend. He was a fount of knowledge and made the counter ordering experience more fun. I would return for Connor and the wine and snap peas tomorrow. The space is loud, high energy and fully staffed so even though you order at the counter later it feels more like full service. No one really came around to offer more wine or dessert so not sure if they have dessert. Could have gone for another glass of wine but then not getting one saved me $15-18 and I could still ride my bike home. Their bread is supposed to be amazing so have to try that next time. It's not a cheap night out but it is a fun one. I wouldn't bring kids here or too large a group maybe 6 max.

I've had this restaurant on my radar for a couple of years, but never had a chance to try it because of either Covid or my lazy butt just hasn't gone. I finally went there today and should have kicked my lazy butt for not coming sooner. My girlfriend and I got the 16 piece wings, along with Garlic Noodles side dish. For that chicken size, we got to choose 2 spices or sauces: 8 pieces with the Cambodian Dirt dry spice rub, and the other 8 with Spicy Elephant wet sauce. The chicken wings itself were fried just right. It was light, crunchy, and not greasy at all. The spice/sauce only made the chicken that much tastier. I forgot to ask for the Spicy Elephant sauce on the side and was worried it would be too spicy for me. I'm such a lightweight. But I was happy to find that it wasn't spicy at all. The peanutty flavor was so yummy that I also dipped my garlic noodles in the wet sauce. The garlic noodles complimented the chicken perfectly. I met the owner, Hawk, while dining there, and we chatted for a bit. He's such a nice guy. His friendly demeanor gave me a good vibe about the food and dining experience. Shlap Muan is a family-run business originally from the Bay and have made their way down to Long Beach/Lakewood. As someone visiting from the Bay, it's great to see them Dow here thriving. The food was 12 out of 10, fantastic! The wings are perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and layered with deep, distinctive Cambodian-inspired flavors. The Cambodian Dirt dry rub stands out for its balance of citrus, spice, and earthy complexity, while the sauced wings -- especially Dirty Elvis and Tamarind Tiger -- bring just the right blend of sweet and tangy. The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming thanks to the owner Hawk and his team who genuinely seem to care about the customer experience. Shlap Muan Wings is hands down my go-to spot for chicken wings! Honestly, it's better than Wingstop in my opinion. The service is always fast, and the staff is incredibly friendly, making each visit a great experience. The owner, Hawk, has done an amazing job putting his unique Cambodian twist on every wing seasoning.
