Recently remodeled, the interior of this Sizzler feels less Norms or Denny's and little more modern. Entrance now has two self-serve payment kiosk's in addition to the good old register with real, live people staffing it. Now, maybe it's just the shiny new interior, but the salad bar seemed like it had .. "more". There was a delicious strawberry and banana fruit salad in addition to the usual fixings. Fixings which, I'm happy to say, includes my all time favorite salad bar staple .. corn and peas. Really. I love it. If there was anything that could be added, it would be caramelized onions and soft taco wraps instead of the hard shells. (Hard shells were over-cooked at tasted burnt and caramelized onions would compliment the blue cheese crumbles already present.) Side note, I heard two different groups bemoaning the fact that the tables at the booths no longer move, so if someone is .. um .. on the larger side, they might be uncomfortable. New tables are the tall kind, so shorter folks might avoid. In fact, when I was there, no one was sitting at any of the tables, all the booths were taken. As a vertically challenged individual, I admit I avoid "tall tables" at all costs. Really uncomfortable. read more

RECOMMENDATION: Salad Bar (Clam Chowder and Chicken Wings) + Garlic Cheese Bread. I have been going to Sizzler ever since I was a kid. The quality went down a bit, but it just depends on which Sizzler you end up going to. Not all Sizzlers are good. But this one, is pretty good. More choices at the salad bar and the meals are huge in portions. I will definitely go back to this Sizzler in particular. read more

On May 16th, 1975, opening day, I was there as manager of Sizzler #401. Now, after being away for over 47 years, I returned with my wife to take a trip down memory lane. There were no disappointments. The cashier/order-taker was very friendly and efficient. The service girl promptly picked up my check and within minutes my steak was delivered, cooked to perfection. My wife had the salad bar, which in my opinion is the finest I have ever encountered. My compliments to the manager Juan, for running a really tight ship. This is an excellent place to eat. Haven't been to a Sizzler in years but was curious. Ventured to the one on Sepulveda in Culver City. Apparently it closed down for five months with only takeout during the thick of the epidemic. Had a fast pleasant lunch. Their menu is nobody's epicurean feast but it's a kind of food I enjoy, tasty, quick and hearty. The salad bar was fresh and inspired post-Covid confidence with how well it was being maintained by the attentive staff, the soups and soft-serve were as I remembered them. My Malibu chicken was an old dry frozen patty but I guess that's what it's always been. It basically met expectations. I frequent this sizzler quite often with my family. It happens to be a favorite of my mom and my husband. With that being said, I wouldn't really choose to come here if I had the choice. Parking is super easy, I've never seen a full parking lot here. Prices are relatively high considering the quality of food you get. For example, my mom and I went today and ordered one double Malibu chicken to share, two salad bars and one drink and it was close to $40. The salad bar is underwhelming. Frozen peas at the salad station. Watermelon. Imitation crab salad. Spaghetti. Taco station. Dessert. Drinks. Just all okay. Not over the top great, just okay. I do have a soft spot for their corn nuggets though. And their banana pudding with vanilla wafers. But again, it's always the same selection of food. The one thing I will say is that I've never had bad service here. All of the waiters and waitresses are very attentive and kind and courteous and check on us regularly to make sure our tables are cleared and that we have cheesy bread if we so desire and bring more plates for the salad bar. I had food delivered from this location via Door Dash. I ordered the Fried Shrimp with a baked potato and dinner salad with blue cheese dressing. I also ordered a Smokey Bacon Burger (medium well) with fries. The shrimp was for someone else. They ordered the same meal from this location last year and it was delicious. This time around, it was terrible. The shrimp are flavorless and almost taste stale. The baked potato was totally overcooked. The sour cream had chives in it, which I didn't request. Even the salad was bad. How do you make a bad salad? The vegetables were fresh, but the salad was tasteless. Even the blue cheese dressing, which should be flavorful, tasted like water. It is beyond disappointing and unsatisfactory. In the alternate, the saving grace of this order was the burger. I don't usually touch pork, but the bacon was good. The meat was cooked perfectly, per my specification. The onion straws were nice and crisp. The fries would have been so much better had they not been so salty. With all of the flavors of the beef, bacon, onion straws and sauce for the burger, the fries never should have been salted. It was overkill and it literally left a bad taste in my mouth. If I order one of the Sizzler's burgers again, I will definitely request fries sans salt. Last year's good food and this order's good burger are the only reason I'm giving them 3 stars. Remember when you were a kid and you thought something was so awesome, and then you try it as an adult and you thought "what was I thinking?" Sizzler is that kind of place. The steak is a 1/3 fat that you can't chew. The salad bar is just ok. The waitress was very nice, but had too many tables to take care of, so sometimes I had to put my arm up to catch her attention. I remember eating at sizzler when I was a young kid and I loved everything about it! Today was no exception, all my childhood memories came back the moment I walked through the door. Food was on par and had so many of the American standards like the best salad bar, pasta, fried chicken, and some TEX MEX. I ordered the sea bass and much to my surprise it was cooked to perfection, as we know it's very easy to overlook fish. And it was a very nice flavor, Cilantro Lime. If you like fish I'd suggest getting the sea bass, first time I choose this fish over the salmon and was glad I did. The dessert was your usual suspects but they also had banana pudding, YUM!!! The icing on the cake was our server Azalia! Just excellent service! Very attentive and very polite and she took great care of us!!! She made the entire experience worth coming in for. My family and I have been comimg for years and we LOVE this Sizzlers. The food is great and not overly priced (although recently I noticed a bit of an increase) the service is the best! Guy is the BEST waiter, he has the best customer service and is always very attentive he is part if the reason we come here. Maribel is also amazing. Ok, I admit I do enjoy coming to Sizzler! Honestly, it gets tiring going out to eat in Beverly Hills or West Hollywood. It's such a pain in the butt and you always have to deal with nonsense/pretentiousness/people. Maybe I'm getting old in my 30s but I now have little patience waiting to get a reservation at the latest place all the hipsters are eating at. I'll stop my rant there cuz I'm getting off topic. My point is, it's nice to go somewhere simple where you can grab a table, get good service, and the food satisfies. My fried shrimp is always perfectly crispy, the steak is tender, and the salad bar is fresh. The hit or miss for me is the soup, some are better than others. I prefer souplantation soups. I grew up going to Sizzler as a kid, and once I became an adult I stopped going until recently. Now that I've come back, it's better than I remember. I keep returning because the staff is very friendly & the prices for meals are affordable. I tried something new this time: steak skewers with grilled vegetables. The steak skewers meal is: $11.99. I'm trying to eat healthy, but the veggies taste like they been doused with butter. The veggies consists of potatoes, corn, zucchini, and carrots. I had the Malibu chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad. I gotta say my boyfriend's salad from the salad bar (pomegranate and sweet potato salad) was better than my whole meal. The chicken was too dry, the cheese barely covered the chicken and the potatoes tasted like they came out of a box. My boyfriend had the tenderloin cuts, which had more mushrooms than anything (which by the way he hates). I honestly feel bad, i really remember sizzler being better. Important Question regarding the salad bar, taco bar, and dessert bar: If customers are not supposed to reuse their plates and bowls, then why isn't there a clean stack of them placed next to the Salad Bar? This is my favorite sizzler of them all, clean and fun environment. Staff is great and friendly, there is this guy named Guy who always takes care of us on our visits. 2.5/3 STARS Although sizzler advertises products such as steak and lobster, do not come here for it! This is not a steakhouse and the steaks are often not cooked to your liking and are cheap little flanks. That being said, whenever I decide to come to sizzler, i know what type of quality food Im going to get. The real reason I come here is for the salad bar or unlimited shrimp! The salad bar has a nice amount of options: Fried chicken, taco/ nacho bar, spaghetti, fruits, salads, sides etc. For 11.99 @ dinner (a bit less for lunch) its worth it. The unlimited shrimp pretty much speaks for itself. Although I feel like 18 dollars is a bit much for it, they try to justify it by adding "steak" to the meal. I wish they offered the shrimp by itself but they don't. The crispy shrimp is really good and the tartar and cocktail sauce compliment it well. The service is usually better at this location than at others too. Unfortunately, more than often, you will get a waiter/waitress who starts off well then disappears. This being said, If you're hungry, looking for decent food, stop by. Just don't expect it to be top tier. Found long pieces of hair in my food. When I brought it to the managers attention he offered a portion of my plate to be refunded even though I told him I was unable to eat any of the food. Honestly always loved the steak here but will be going to another location in the future. Hopefully the staff learn how to deal with customers and learn to keep their hair covered and pulled back. This is a nice Sizzler, not the nicest, but still nice. Tons of seating inside the restaurant, which was mostly empty the times I've gone which have all been before 5pm. Parking was also simple thanks to their parking lot. Sepulveda is an incredibly busy street especially during rush hour so getting out can be a bit of a pain. My favorite part of Sizzler is the salad bar. I had never had any of their menu items until recently when I ordered their signature steak & lobster combo. Steak was tough and difficult to cut, but had a good flavor. I did not finish it. The lobster was a tad chewy for my taste but also had a good flavor. I love the melted butter it comes with. The salad bar is great. I also love their chicken wing/spaghetti/taco station. I love getting a taco on the side of my meal with one of their grilled and charred jalapeños (which are quite spicy), delicious. The dessert options are meh. The salad bar is honestly enough for me. I probably won't be ordering any of their menu items in the future. Service was also nice. For whatever reason, they don't provide plates out in the open. They give you 1 when you pay at the register but then you have to ask the servers for more if you want them which is contrary to what I've experienced at other Sizzler locations. Wow, I ordered the new Malibu Chicken and it's McDonald's Chicken, not even a real Chicken breast. For 8.99 for a tiny piece and 11.49 for two of those. They don't even do the single to the salad bar anymore. The cashier up front described it as Chicken Breast when it clearly isn't. Gracefully they intended to change it for the salad bar, at that point I thought it was going to be just one dollar difference, as listed in their menu as 12.49 for salad only . They took a while until the manager came saying - you already eat one piece so to change for the salad bar pay the difference, 8.99+4.49 -11.49 and tax. That's 2.79 instead of 1.00. Facts: 1. They were going to discard the plate so they offered to get it back. 2.-There was misleading done by the cashier calling something that isn't a breast a breast. 3.-I didn't notice until the second breast. The thing is covered in batter and topped with ham and cheese. 4.-They charged me for what I did eat. 5.-The manager was also an employee. Conclusion and opinion: They care more about their books than customer satisfaction. I was apalled by the whole thing. Next time, pay more attention in places like this and don't be so trusting. They expect people to pull tricks on them to get things for free so they do the same. I have the option to feel insulted but I won't. 2.75 to switch over is not worth the drama. We love Sizzler. Not one near to us anymore. For the price, you can't beat the food that you get. Not fine dinning, but tasty steak & shrimp. They do have a variety of other meals on the menu. If you're a big eater, you may want to add the all you can eat salad bar which is good & can be included with your meal or by itself. Armed with coupons for the Sizzler at Manchester near Airport Boulevard, I first called the Culver City restaurant, a favorite of mine for years, to see if it would accept the other's coupons. Had a pleasant chat with the manager, who said, sorry, he couldn't take them, but then he asked why I would want to go to another Sizzler "when you could come to Number One?" I agreed that his Sizz is the shizz; that's why I called. He said I could visit his restaurant that day and "use the coupons at Manchester tomorrow." Laughing at the notion of dining at Sizzler two days in a row, I decided he had won the debate, and met a friend at CC. Why is this place great? Because the salad bar is usually freshly stocked with different varieties of lettuce, also spinach leaves. The dressings are top quality. Numerous salad vegetables await the plate, and would you like some chopped egg and crumbled bleu cheese on that? Then there's the appetizers: soups, fried chicken wings, taco bar and the be-all, end-all of this particular lunch: carnitas. I don't know how any adult who likes the food could have room for the unspectacular dessert bar (I've tried it when carnitas was not in the equation). A better choice would be fresh fruit from the salad bar. And last but not least, the entry-level steak is reasonably priced, and I've found it smaller, but no worse than an Outback sirloin, and better than some steaks at Westchester's Buggy Whip. Every other Sizzler in the chain might serve dog food--I don't know. But this restaurant is my choice for best in chow. read more

I've been eating at Sizzler for years. In fact, my sister visited from Chicago recently and wanted to eat at the Sizzler because she can't find one any more in Chicago. Hot Tip: Check out the value menu. The all you can eat salad bar is included in those meals and they are very similar to others offered, where the salad bar is not. I didn't see the value menu even listed on the wall, so look for it, cleverly hidden under the cash registers. That's where you can find a steak, chicken, pasta and sometimes fish dinner for around $10 with the salad bar! The salad bar alone is like $10, so that's a bargain. Sizzler has gotten better and better over time. For example, they used to have just iceberg lettuce; now they have baby greens. I have so many 'friends" that refuse to eat at Sizzler due to snobbery, that I wind up going all by myself. Since the one near me in Santa Monica closed, I now come to this one. I get tired of Souplantation -- and their food becomes monotonous over time. And you can't get a steak, chicken or fish there. You have to be aware, however, that the clientele here can be somewhat ghettofabulous. The other day there was a woman actually eating off of her plate while waiting in line to get some chicken wings, which they run out of easily. It's probably better to go here during off-peak times for that reason. But the waiters and staff are very friendly. I am so sad this placed closed. I was all set to have me some Sizzler one day and then .... drove by and the place looked like someone had torched it. Could be all these SNOBBY Santa Monicans decided to get rid of it. You're not wealthy, so quit pretending you are. Live within your means, and maybe you'll be less stressed out. Lord knows you could all use less stress. That 8 oz steak WITH a salad bar for around $10 they've been offering is a BARGAIN. You can hardly get a decent burger for that any more. The other day I went to Carl's Jr. and wound up spending $14. At a fast food burger joint! And I sure didn't get a steak dinner for that. If you have the salad bar, pasta, steak, chicken, burger and fresh fish you'll do great. Eat the fresh veggies and stay away from the nasty breaded shrimp - which is nasty anywhere they serve it. It's bad for you anyway. This place is a Godsend. So this is one of those places I go to when I can't decide what to get for dinner. Cause the salad bar is always fine with me. It's cheaper than souplantation, not as expansive, but it also includes a buncha appetizers. Oh and this location is funny because it's located next to A Touch of Romance. Service was the best I've had in a very very long time. I had the nicest, fastest, most efficient waiter ever! I'm sorry I don't know your name! Every time he stopped by, it didn't feel like he was rushing us even though you could see he had so many other tables. He would stop, ask if we needed anything or how the food was, and then move on after we answered. None of that walk by checking in. We could hear everyone asking for certain things, he would disappear for a few minutes, and come back loaded with everything you asked for. Perfect service is so hard to find now! Ten dollars and I got fried shrimp, a baked potato, and the salad bar came with it. Salad bar is already 10 dollars actually..so I figured why not. The stuff I ordered wasn't good, but they always give you cheese toast thats really really yummy. And the salad bar is always good cause you just pick and choose whatever you want. They also include soup, fried chicken (which is really tasty and made well), make your own tacos and nachos, desserts and a few other things. Not bad at all. I was tired, and it was right next to our hotel room, so we took a chance on it. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have opted for the salad bar. Unimpressive is putting it nicely. The service was great though, every 3 minutes or so I had a server at my table asking me if I wanted cheese bread. I said "no" the first time (I'm prediabetic, and can't have a lot of simple carbs), so I don't get the additional inquiries. I felt like I was getting a hard upsell, and I was going to actually say something if they bothered me about one more time, luckily they stopped after the 5th time. But I did appreciate the attentive servers. I even tipped, though I did all my own serving. It wasn't all bad, and I should have just got a proper dinner instead of trying to be health conscious at a place that holds it's own salad bar in such high esteem. Most sizzler restaurants do not have a good reputation. This location on Sepulveda, across from the west field mall, is a corporate owned restaurant. It is unbelievable. Everything is kept spotless, the staff is amazing, and the food is very fresh. My favorite is the lunch salad bar for $10. That includes salad, cold pasta, fruit, taco bar, hot pasta bar, soups, and dessert bar. Excuse me if I forgot anything. Definitely a good deal for what you get read more
