I struggle with vegan food being a more approachable option for the omnivore in me but I've found two things to be true 1. Vegan food is either fantastically delicious or completely awful. 2. There is (in my experience) no such thing as average vegan food. That being said, my food was not only delicious, but I'm pleasantly able to report I feel no post heaviness after eating either. Now, my only real problem with vegan chicken is reconciling the texture of it, and while it's something to get accustomed to, the crispy "chicken" I ate in a sandwich was pretty tasty. The bacon and vegan cheese was also pretty solid on the fries, though if I was to slightly critique anything, the bacon was more akin to the taste of a crouton. However, the vegan cheese was a wonderful flavor and was very nice to chow down on. Overall, this is the reason I love LA, because even eating fake chicken is exciting when it's executed masterfully. Stopped by this place while on my way back from a hike and I'm so glad I did. FOOD My friend got the vegan burger and fries and I got the D fries. They were so freakin tasty. The combination of sauces was a party in my mouth that I was not expecting. Somehow they'd layered the sauce so it got just the right amount on all the fries. SERVICE Air was our server and she was so cool and very helpful. I was hoping they had matcha but they didn't, and she happily gave us a recommendation of a stellar matcha place nearby. AMBIANCE It was a quieter place and had patio seating that was perfect for people watching on such a great day. I will be returning to this place and trying other items. The server was great and the food was tasty .

Decided to try something from here for lunch delivery, menu said they had a chicken Caesar wrap which is my favorite wrap ever, and the best part? It's all vegan/vegetarian! Granted I eat chicken but I've found more often I prefer the soy versions. Anyway lunch arrives and the fries smell amazing, not crunchy which is a shame because that would make them perfect but they are seasoned and taste good! But the wrap! I was a little iffy on the veganaise, I haven't had it before but that odd tangy taste of it was not a bother! There's so much lettuce and the chicken pieces are just so tasty. This is definitely a go to now. I can't wait to bring my mom next time she visits, definitely have to try more from this menu!

Oh how I love Something Vegan!! The best chicken tenders are here and I still can't get over how delicious they were. My cousins and I have a group dinner here and everyone left beyond satisfied. Their nachos were a hit and I would highly recommend. I had their crispy chicken sandwich for my entree and really enjoyed it. The fries were aplenty and service was great. They do a lot of takeout and their prices are beyond reasonable.

Something Vegan, is something good as well as great. This Toluca Lake hidden gem has been on the seen since 2017, located off Riverside Drive near other local great spots such as Patys, Bob's Big Boy and many longstanding greats. S.V. fits in as something intimate, homey and welcoming to all. I've been coming here since their debut and support this amazing eatery with dine in as well as delivery experience. Bae and I branch out to a place he'd never been and hit up this Something grand. It never dawn on me that their breakfast/brunch items are a bit limited, but I went with their "Chicken" & Pancake while he had The Coconut Curry w/ a side of brown rice. We loved it all. From dining outside on a beautiful morning to the vibes and view of Riverside Dr, to the excellent service, ambiance and company. It was pretty buy for them around 1245/1pm with many people dining outside as well as in. They offer a variety of beverages from hot or iced teas to lemonade, soft drinks, juice, kombucha, aloe vera, still or sparkling water and coffee. For eats it's curries, rice dishes, noodle plats, wraps, burgers, soups, a la carte and specialities, like their C & P I had and loved for my latest meal. But I've had so much of the menu over 8+ years. Highly recommend those Dynamite Drumsticks and Fries, all the wraps, fried rice, curries, burgers, apps and HEAVENLY "beef." Great proteins such as Soy Chicken, Soy Steak, Tofu, Cauliflower, and Soy Shrimp. Gluten free and/or gluten free option items throughout the menu, even for burgers (gluten free bun option). Gender neutral restrooms, street parking, amazing homey decor and desserts on the menu. You can enjoy Something Vegan from 11AM until 9:45PM, seven days a week, but they do close the kitchen between 3:30PM and 4:30pm daily.

First time here and they didn't disappoint. Inside had plenty of space, and was clean. I came in right at 11a so I was the only one in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Got my food to go, I tired the dynamite fries , they had a little kick and were very delicious. Had the dumplings, not bad. Also tried the pad see ew which was good. And the tom yum soup which was very flavorful. I will definitely come back and try some more dishes! absolutely adding them to the rotation.

I love ordering from here because the food is amazing, especially their vegan carbonara. I usually order for delivery , but I found myself in the area and decided to order for pickup since I didn't know how long the wait would be. My order was ready within 5 minutes of arriving. Since there was no one dining in I thought it would be okay to eat a couple bites before heading out. I was wrong, as soon as I was about to start eating my food, the cashier came up to me and told me that I could not eat at their location because I ordered for pick up. This would make complete sense if the restaurant was busy and people were waiting on a table, but that was not the case (it was completely empty). The approach was very rude as well. Food 5/5 Customer service 1/5

Overall I have had a pretty decent experience at Something Vegan. They have a very extensive menu, ranging from burgers to noodles/Asian-fusion dishes, to salads. You can find pretty much anything you are looking for, but make it vegan. They definitely live up to their name! I recently had the Impossible burger with fries when I went, and it was great. Nothing to complain about and the fries were crispy and well-seasoned. I wasn't as big of a fan of the cheese fries, as they got a bit soggy after 10 minutes. My friend loves the cheese fries here though, so it's depends on your preferences. You can order to eat in or do take-out. We sat inside this most recent time and it was pleasant. There are quite a few tables inside and during good weather, they have a patio for outdoor seating too. The ambiance is super chill, and our service was fine. The servers didn't engage much during the meal apart from bringing water and taking our order in the beginning, which for the most part is fine, but we were waiting quite awhile for them to come around with the check after we finished our meal. We weren't in a rush to leave and didn't mind. Overall it was a good experience and I would check out again to explore more of the menu.

Been coming to this place for sometime and it's one of my favorites vegan spots. The Food is always on point their dynamite drum sticks are my favorites along with their curry . Food always great,service as well.All in all a great place to eat .

A cozy café with a pretty diverse menu. The Bolognese pasta here is really good, and the salads are great too. The staff is very polite and friendly. And honestly, if I don't feel like saying I could cook it better myself, that means the food is actually good -- and I don't feel like saying that here.

We aren't vegan but enjoy vegan food. Our meal here was so delicious! Each dish was presented in a very appealing way. The texture and crispiness was so perfect. My friend recommended this place, so I brought my red meat eating husband with me! The green curry fried rice is fabulous! So tasty! I had mine with brown rice. Not as good as some of the other reviews would suggest. I am a long-time vegan and therefore have many eating experiences to compare this to. First of all the environment was very cold and uncomfortable - seems like they didn't want to turn on the heat even a little bit. Out of the 3 dishes we ordered, I would say one was good and the other 2 were meh. Portion size on the green curry was small (served in a coconut) and it didn't even come with rice. Gave them a try but won't be returning. read more

Love eating at this restaurant so I order postmates regularly to my work. Today when I did I got a messed up order and when I called to fix it they will not do anything, great purchase with my money. In the past other restaurants that messed up an order will go out of their way to make it right either comping my meal or dropping off another meal so here I am a diabetic at work with low blood sugar in the rain after a car accident so I cant go pick anything up. read more

Ok, I'm really rating just the food we had. The iced mango matcha tea, drumsticks and tacos. I appreciate the tacos, BUT they have to work on their "cheese". It's a little too smooth and tastes a little too much like Velveeta, but not awful. The taste was pretty good. I appreciated that they had crispy shells because I HATE soft shells. There, I said it. The juice was good...fresh, I guess. That's all I got there. Now the drumsticks. That shit was magical. The shape, consistency and taste of the "meat" was perfect. I did however NOT enjoy the chili sticky gooey after slather that they put on it. My opinion: serve the wings plain and give 3 dipping sauces on the side OR remind people about the hot assed nasty looking sauce (I hate sticky sauces) and give them options before the order comes out, but again, when you come here, get the drumsticks. I'm gonna do wings and fries, when I go back. They got 4 stars for the sticky. I have standards, ya know. read more

I found this place last week on Yelp & decided to give it a try since they are Vegan friendly. I ordered the Soy Beef Pad Se-ew. It definitely caught me off guard how rich the flavor was. First off, I am not vegan, not even vegetarian. Went to Something Vegan with my kids at their urging. Beautiful friendly little place with a very accommodating wait staff (our waiter was the owner). I was able to taste a couple of appetizers (spring rolls were excellent) and my main course was the Hawaiian Fried Rice with the tofu steak as it's protein. So grateful for another vegan place in the valley! And the vegan meats (all soy-based) were really tasty - creative presentation, flavorful sauces (probably a lot of sugar ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), generous portions. I started with the chicken drummettes, which had wood skewers cooked inside to hold the "meat" in the drumstick shape. I thought is was very clever, and they tasted amazing. They came with a sticky spicy-sweet glaze already on them, and a little pot of "ranch" dressing for dipping. For my entree, I had the heavenly beef. I don't know how they get the soy to look, taste and chew like perfectly cooked beef, but they did! The best part - no gross beef sinew that turns real beef broccoli dishes into a choking hazard. The accompanying veggies were cooked to just-tender - not easy to do on a large scale and I feel like the chef should get extra kudos for not focusing solely on replicating meat products and American Chinese food favorites. While the fare perhaps falls short of cuisine, and it is clearly using processed ingredients/techniques to manipulate soy into meat-like products, I think it will be a great new treat for plant-based eaters in the valley. I'm thinking of serving the drummettes at my NYE gathering! read more

I am so happy this wonderful restaurant opened in my neighborhood. I find myself either eating there or ordering takeout 4 or 5 times a week and have never been disappointed. The service is courteous, the place itself is adorable and friendly and the food is just fantastic. Standouts for me are "Drunken Noodle" "Dynamite Chicken" any of the burgers, the "Garlic Fries" and the "Coconut Soup" is to die for. This has become the one restaurant in Toluca Lake that I will never get tired of visiting. In fact I am on my way right now to pick up my order for today. Going to try one of the wraps and having the "Garlic Fries" as well. So many great things on the menu that will keep me coming back over and over again! read more

The service here is so bad! The staff is awful. At first I thought it was just a language barrier, but after coming back a second time (stupidly) I realized that they are just rude. The food was only okay, not great. Mowhawk Bend is way better, much cheaper, and the service is better. Also, they don't have alcohol, and I heard they got closed down for rats (read other reviews on here for confirmation of this). SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, SOMETHING VEGAN IS TERRIBLE! read more

MFn BOMB! I've been waiting to try this place for so long every time I pass Burbank I see it. Today after a long day I stopped in and ordered a burger. They have so many things on their menu including Asian food and Italian food. I was in a rush so I didn't get to properly go through the menu when I had ordered from my car but once I got inside I was able to see the variety. The main thing that made me happy was that I have not been able to have Thai iced tea for a very long time since I've been vegan and I love Thai iced tea. They have a soy milk option here and it was amazing. The food was amazing and I can't wait to bring my family. Thank you for creating a versatile vegan restaurant with such amazing food. read more

Their grilled 'chickn' burger is amazing -- very close to my favorite 'cowboy burger' at other vegan restaurants (this has avocado instead of the green sauce -- also very good -- that cowboy burgers often have. Also love their drumsticks and Thai food. read more

They have a semi good selection of vegan food. I would say my go to is their portobello mushrooms, and their noodles are all great. I like that they give you a variety of alternative meat options so your choice is endless on top of the options you already have. Overall good flavor. And you have extra to take home with you. read more

Do yourself a favor......DO NOT EAT HERE! I got food poisoning from this place. I was vomiting everywhere from eating their drumstick and pad thai. This food is sooooo trash! Do yourself and your body a favor......go somewhere else. Honestly, if I could gives zero stars I would. Walking in we were seated immediately and greeted with good service from the start. I was skeptical about the wings and food at first .. But everything was DELICIOUS & Fresh ! I ordered the wings asking for the sauce on the side and I was so shocked on how good they were . The chicken nuggets were amazing and I love the BBQ sauce ! I also ordered the impossible burger , the fries were soft with a perfect crunch and perfectly seasoned. The burger itself was so juicy and amazing . I wish I could post photos but me and my boyfriend demolished the plate before we could even think ! We even ordered a dessert to go .. the price ? Just $50 in total!! We will definitely come here again. best experience , price, and place for a date read more

Delicious! Love the lettuce wrap, salads and mint lemonade. The quinoa rolls were just ok. Service was very good and went there twice in a week. Prices are average from $7.99 for apps and up to $12/13 for salads and full lunch item. Highly recommend. read more

First and last time at this place. I get that businesses need to make money but I ordered the meatball bolognese as gluten free. This means substituting gluten free spaghetti and no meatballs. Fine. I'm getting spaghetti and meat sauce. I was charged $2 extra dollars for gluten free noodles even though I'm not getting the meatballs which is where their main cost comes from. Not thrilled but fine. I go to pick up the food and it's a hand sized portion of pasta and meat sauce for $18.61. Sorry, but that's some serious bullsh*t. I ask if they can take off the $2 gluten free charge seeing as I'm not getting the meatballs. They said "no substitutions" which doesn't even apply to this situation but whatever. I pay and go back to work. The pasta and meat sauce aren't even remotely good. Starchy, undercooked noodles with sauce that may very well be ketchup. Gross and massively overpriced. Cool. read more

This restaurant does not do substitutions. I wanted a salad modified and they put up a big fuss until we said we might need to go somewhere else. It was good in the end, but very bizarre. You'd think a vegan restaurant would understand food allergies and preferences. read more

With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.

Vegan restaurants usually have really great service. That is not the case here. I was served cold fries. I placed an order over the phone. I was told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. I arrived in 6 minutes. My order was ice cold. When I asked to have fresh fries I received a great deal of backlash. The servers accused me of arriving late to pick up my order. He reluctantly took the fries back and took the same fries and put them in grease. He returned with fries that were as hard as bricks. You couldn't even smash them with your hands. Rarely leave reviews unless truly compelled to and this place gave me no other choice because it is just so damn good every time. It's delivered on time, if not early, packaged well, comes piping hot, and is unbelievably good. Everything is so flavorful and better than almost any food around, vegan or not. I've never dined there in person - just ordered delivery a few times and cannot say enough good things about the experience. I wanted to rate this establishment with no stars but that isn't an option. Usually I have found the area around Studio City, Toluca Lake & NoHo welcoming to folks with disabilities service animals. Unfortunately, this is not the case with this establishment. After repeated attempts to educate the staff & manager regarding the ADA guidelines they refused to accommodate my daughter & refused to serve her.
