Sonny's been on my radar for what feels like forever. I've had them bookmarked for months and have been following them on social media, constantly seeing posts about how quickly they sell out. So when my friend and I decided to make the drive out to West Hollywood on a Saturday afternoon, I was beyond excited to finally try it. We arrived around noon and were pleasantly surprised to find metered street parking nearby. There were already a few people enjoying their pizza when we arrived, but the line was manageable and we were able to walk right up and place our order. A quick note about seating: this is definitely more of a grab-and-go spot than a traditional restaurant. There's a small bar-top style seating area that accommodates a few people and a standing table inside, but not much beyond that. Luckily, my friend and I were able to grab spots at the bar-top table, and honestly, once the pizza arrived, seating became the last thing on my mind. Because this pizza was INSANE!!!! Without exaggeration, this may be the best pizza I've ever had. We ordered the pepperoni and jalapeño pizza, which came with fresh basil on the side and was drizzled with hot honey. They use D.O.P tomatoes, mozzarella, beef pepperoni topped w/ grana padano and Mike's Hot Honey. The combination of flavors was absolutely incredible. The crust was perfectly crispy, the pepperoni had just the right amount of spice, the jalapeños added a nice kick, and the hot honey tied everything together in the most delicious way possible. Every bite was a flavor explosion. And if you're wondering whether I liked it, here's all you need to know: I ate FIVE slices. Five. Massive slices. These weren't little pizza shop slices either, they were huge!! My friend only managed three slices, which tells you exactly how much pizza I consumed and how little self-control I had once I started eating. The service was just as impressive as the food. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, who was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of his customers. It's always nice when an owner takes the time to introduce himself and make people feel welcome. The only thing I'd love to see in the future is the option to split toppings, like half cheese and half pepperoni, but honestly, that's a very minor wish list item. At around $40 for the pizza, some might hesitate, but after tasting it, I can confidently say it was worth every penny. The quality, flavor, and portion size absolutely justify the price. If you're dining with two people, be prepared it may be more pizza than you expect. Personally, I think three people would be the sweet spot for sharing. Then again, if you're anything like me, you may surprise yourself and put away 5 slices without even trying. Bottom line: Sonny's Pizza completely lived up to the hype. The pizza is fire, the service is excellent, and I'll absolutely be back. Next time, though, I'm bringing more people... and maybe sharing a little better. :) read more

I had a disappointing experience last week that I felt was worth sharing. I've been to Sonny's before and have always enjoyed their pizza, so I drove all the way there specifically to try the cheesesteak and was really looking forward to it. When I arrived, I was surprised to see the restaurant was nearly empty. It was around 4:15 p.m. on a Wednesday, so maybe that explains it. I went to the counter and ordered a cheesesteak without onions because I can't eat onions. The employee taking my order told me they couldn't make it without onions and that they don't allow any modifications. I explained that I wasn't asking them to add anything--I simply needed the onions left off because I cannot eat them. He looked at me, smirked, and said, "Sorry, can't do it." We proceeded to go back and forth a couple times and nothing! At that point, there were only a couple of customers in the restaurant, very little food being prepared, and several employees working. Removing onions from a sandwich didn't seem like an unreasonable request. Unfortunately, there was no effort to accommodate me, and it felt like my concern simply didn't matter. To me, that's poor customer service. The issue wasn't the onions--it was the complete lack of willingness to help a customer with a simple dietary restriction. I sincerely hope Sonny's doesn't become one of those places where the growing hype causes them to lose sight of the most important thing: the customer. Was very disappointed in this pizza. I ordered the pep with all the works for 54 dollars. Which is crazy for one pizza. But I figured "sure. It's supposed to be the best in LA so let's see" it didn't live up to the hype at all. First, the pizza was ready 20 min after they told me it was ready. We parked on the side street and waited. When they finally gave it to us, IT WAS COLD! And the toppings were on the side for me to put them on myself.... Which is crazy. I think they messed up my order which is so disappointing. I'm sure I will try it again some day , but for now there are plenty of pizza shops that the worst pizza I've had from them is better than the crap I was served. Do better. read more

If you're looking for the best pizza in California, this spot is a must-try. The taste is incredibly close to authentic New York-style pizza crispy crust, perfect sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. One of the best parts is that they offer beef pepperoni, which is a huge plus and not easy to find everywhere. The place is also very clean and well-maintained, which makes the experience even better. On top of that, the service is amazing friendly, fast, and professional. Top tier NYC-style pizza I've found in LA. They don't do slices full pies only. It's all online ordering with pickup, plus a few bar seats inside for a quick hang. The crust is thin and perfectly foldable with just the right crisp underneath. The sauce is balanced, the cheese ratio is spot on, and the flavor feels like a legit New York neighborhood spot. Quick shoutout to the great personalities inside they were friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they're serving. Best Beverly Hills pizza. I recently wasted over 40 minutes driving here only to be met with the most unprofessional and frustrating experience. As soon as I arrived, I was told, "Our system is messed up, and your order is canceled." No apology, no attempt to resolve the issue, just a dismissive attitude. They then had the audacity to tell me to leave as if my time doesn't matter. They initially charged me and just told me they're out of dough once I got there. Completely unacceptable. Even with the crowd, the staff was super friendly and kept things moving, which made the wait feel worth it.
