Ziploc and frozen to show the proof

Absolutely the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. The gentleman who took our order was rude from the start. Rather than make a scene in the restaurant, my wife and I chose to contact customer service by email, hoping they would simply make things right. Instead, they responded by accusing us of eating the entire pizza. That statement is completely false. We still had the pizza, and three days later we still have it. We also kept every email. To make matters worse, the assumptions made about my wife and me left us feeling singled out and unfairly judged. If this is how they treat paying customers, especially when they try to resolve an issue respectfully, that's unacceptable. Thank you for putting your response in writing--it speaks for itself. I'll be posting the emails along with a video of the pizza so people can decide for themselves. Spend your money where customers are treated with honesty and respect. New York pizza is with cheese not burnt. in my video I'm not completely noting it. I'm just saying that it's burnt and hardly any cheese. We just wanted to have management replace it but instead we got insulted, false accusations

Cheesy pizza with beef pepperoni and jalapeños

Glad we ordered in advance as this place was very busy and after trying their Philly Cheesesteak I can understand why. This was incredibly delicious with flavorful cheesy beef and a crunchy soft bread that had a great tasty crunch and sesame seeds. Then their pizzas are pretty large and tasty as well and watching them make the pizzas is watching a well olive oiled production line that produces delicious pizzas with incredible crust. My friend who owns two pizza chain restaurants said he'd love to get their dough recipe. As for pricing, it can be a little expensive but certainly worth it.

This review is specifically about the cheesesteak and the experience of the shop as I have not tried the pizza yet. From what I saw it looks fantastic though. I stopped in around 12:30PM on a Sunday. Walked in to about 20 other people waiting for their food. Just a bit more chaotic than it probably needed to be overall, but it's a pizza shop so it's understandable. The cheesesteak itself is probably the best rendition of a modern Philly cheesesteak I've had in LA. Meat is tender and well seasoned. Plenty of melted american cheese. The seeded roll was light, airy and one of the best I've had in my 18 years in LA. With all that said, I've got some constructive criticism. Number one is it's too small for $24. I was expecting a full size Philly cheesesteak for that price and was done each half in only a few bites. Second, I think they are using jalapeños instead of long hots on the sandwich. They're tasty, but not the flavor profile I was looking for. All in all, probably the best tasting cheesesteak in Los Angeles right now. I'd eat it any time it's offered to me, but at $24 for the small portion, it'll be more of a luxury item than a casual lunch type of thing for me.

The cheesesteak is a skip here (not much cheese for some reason), but I enjoyed the pizza and it's definitely in my top five pizzas in LA. High quality ingredients, correct amount of pepperoni, not too overly chewy or salty. I also liked the basil on the side. Lots of metered street parking in the area, single bathroom inside with a code, and standing room only when dining in. Casual, but clean and good natural lighting inside. Service was quick, we ordered for pick up and it was ready at 12:30 on the dot.

The place might have been popular for their pizza, but it was their cheesesteaks that brought me there. Placing my online pre-order ahead to avoid the wait. With the extra service fee, it's more on the high-end of the price tag, especially it's not a sit-down dining experience. Nonetheless, when we got our hands on the cheesesteaks, we got the reason why, seeing how abundantly stuffed they were! Delectable peppery beef slices stuffed in crunchy sesame rolls. It's pretty spicy if your tolerance level was relatively low, but for us who loved spicy food, we're so delighted! In case you wonder if you could enjoy your meals on the spot, yes but they're standing tables only.

Battle of The Wagyu Beef sandwiches is done! Sonny's is by far the best tasting sandwich. The use of jalapenos instead of bell peppers is the best. This adds a kick that you never knew you needed. The portion and taste is better than most at the same price point. Restaurant was busy . Staff was friendly. Restroom and restaurant was very clean.

This was my first time trying Sonny's and I ordered on Uber Eats so I can't attest to the ambiance, but the service was pretty fast and the food was still warm! I got the new Wagyu cheesesteak. My favorite things about it was that it was pretty spicy because there's chopped jalapeños in there and I love spicy food so that was nice to have on the cheesecake! It was also decently cheesy which was nice! But I gave it 4 stars because I'm from the East Coast and it didn't quite hit like an East Coast cheesesteak, but it wasn't bad at all and worth trying if you enjoy wagyu! It was definitely filling though & I'd definitely go back to try their different pizzas etc

    Jalapeño pep slice with burrata

The jalapeño pizza was sooo yummy! Not great seating so by the time we got the pizza home it wasn't as warm as we'd hoped. But this is a solid take on a New Jersey slice. Crust was a littleeee burnt but the favor was wonderful and I'm def coming back! Note: cannot buy by the slice... it was about $40 for the pizza and we added burratta taking our total to closer to $50. 2 slices were plenty for moderately hungry humans but I can see 3 being a solid portion.

    $27 dollars is over rated

It's good but $27 for a sandwich is crazy !! It's LA so everything is over the top!!

We ordered the pepperoni and jalapeño pizza at Sonny's, and it was a well executed New York style pie. The dough had a great texture, the sauce was flavorful without overpowering the toppings, and everything came together really well. A solid option if you're looking for quality New York style pizza in LA.

Place is so overrated, tik tok did its job to make it popular. Pizza and sandwich was 73 dollars. Not worth it. There's no place to sit comfortably inside AND ITS HOT AS HELL INSIDE. stay away tbh sub is overated too. Jersey mikes is better

Starting off, nice spot. Very chill interior, lowly lit nice place to talk. Parking is bad per usual in la. Cashier was chill. As for the pizza itself, it was solid. It had great texture and crunch all around, very good ingredients as well. That being said, I think the sauce was prominent and stood out but the other ingredients were not as strong. I would have liked more cheese and I didn't really enjoy the pepperoni. They were flat and didn't add much flavor to the pizza as I would have hoped. Definitely not burnt but slightly over cooked as well. Burrata was a good touch, would have liked more for what we payed for. Solid taste was almost a 4, but giving a 3 because probably wouldn't go again compared to some other spots in the area in terms of taste. I also don't know another place that charges 18% for tax as well

I feel bad for anyone who didn't get that solid undercarriage on their pizza because my pepperoni jalapeño was fire. Sonny's was a little dark inside, but still a whole vibe, I was low-key ready to ask for the playlist because whoever had aux knew what they were doing. Not sure if the counters are meant for dining, but there's seating there, plus standing bar tables for anyone staying to eat. Back to my pepperoni jalapeño pizza! I loved it. The wait was a little longer than expected, but it gave me time to snag a hat for my husband, so no complaints. The crust was perfect, the flavor was on point, and that sprinkle of basil on top? Ughh I love basil (lol) so it was perfect. We love pizza, and this easily ranks up there with our favorites.

I'd suggest looking for street parking along 3rd St. if you can. There's also a parking structure nearby. The first time we came, we ordered a whole pie, half supreme and half BBQ chicken. It also came with ranch that tasted freshly made. The supreme was great. You could taste a little bit of spice from the sausage, and all the other toppings worked really well together. I also really liked the crust. It had a nice crunch to it without being too hard. Came back for a second time and got another whole pie, this time half supreme and half white. The white pizza was good. It had fresh mozzarella, garlic, and seasoning on top, and the crust was just as good as I remembered. I think adding something like mushrooms would make it even better. It is pretty cheesy though, so I could see more than one slice being a little too much for some people. The supreme was just as good as the first time. I'd definitely keep coming back. I think next time I'm going to try one of their square pizzas.

My friend and I dropped by around 2 pm and it was bustling. They have a number of pizzas available by the slice in the display, so it was super easy to pick a couple slices and eat quickly before heading out. Most of the pizzas available by slice were vegetarian, with only a handful of meat options. I wish they had the meat lovers available by slice. All slices were in the $5-6 range. We got: -Sicilian -Grandma -BBQ chicken -Spicy pepperoni I wasn't expecting much, but surprisingly I really enjoyed the pizza here. The crust was nice and crispy for all the slices. My favorites were the bbq chicken and the Sicilian (because of the pesto), but they were all solid. My only complaint is that it was a hot day out, and I wish the inside of the restaurant was cooler.

Nice name, but when I see menus of any cuisine that go out of their way to offer vegan and gluten free versions of everything, it tends to put me off. I know that's an unfair prejudice, but I always assume it's more of a healthy food place for people who complain about regular food than a real tasty joint. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Now that I've tried their fantastic pizza, my only sadness is that they are located in DTLA, where finding parking even to run in and pick up things to go is always difficult. So, we were here at first not for the food but because my teen son's death metal band, Institutionalized, was playing a show with the very popular super cool local metal band Diabology. But, hey, if you're there might as well grab something before you leave, right? So We got a cheese pie, which was excellent. Also tried a slice of their white pie, which was garlicky goodness. What really sold us, though, was the Sicilian pie we got. As born and bred New Yorker transplants who have been here a long time, we have never found a fantastic Sicilian. Good, sure, but never great. The pies are never thick enough as far as the breading. Here it was as close as we've ever got. And like the other pizza, the taste was excellent. And, as native New Yorkers, we know our pizza! Strongly recommended! Can't wait to get another Sicilian pie in the near future with some toppings.
