Faded receipt & faded tasteless food.
Marc G.

Ordered takeout on 12/16/25 7:40pm from Server Tanner: blackened noodles w/beef, nabon steamed dumplings & spring rolls. My receipt is so faded (lack of ink by restaurant) I cannot read it. All 3 dishes were lower in quality of ingredients ... some inedible. This chain was better in 2007 on West 20th & 8th Ave. I will not return. total came to $54. So disappointed. I do not recommend this place. Sad. I used to go 3-4 days a week for lunch @ the Chelsea location for years. Nothing lasts forever, I feel this chain will permanently close soon. ‍

Their lunch special deal is such a phenomenal price. I opted for the soup and protein with veggies. It was so much that I ended up taking home more than half of my entrée.

Panang Curry

Classy little restaurant with excellent Panang curry!! It was nice to have Panang with green beans instead of bell peppers for once (I'm not a bell pepper fan), and the curry itself had a nice kick to it as well. The servers let me and my dogs wait at a table while they worked on my takeout order. They were super sweet with my pups. I'll for sure go back by myself for the full sit-down experience!

Order this last night via Grubhub. Whoever did the packing over there did a terrible job. The Rama Dish sauce leaked everywhere, everything was soggy and inedible.

Came here with my friend and she loves Thai food. She had fried rice and I had the drunken noodle. I could say tho the drunken noodles didn't come packed in full flavor compared to other Thai spots I've been to but overall was pretty good. I would say the fried calamari was top notch and service was pretty attentive to us. We came during lunch hours so not much people were eating and relaxing music was playing in the area. Spice is a place to start your exploration of Thai food for sure. A good 7/10.

I have always been a fan of the Spice restaurants. My family have been patrons for years. One night I stopped in to pick up some dinner for the family and once again, the food was amazing. Hubby had the pulled pork sando which he loved. I ordered a half crispy duck, crab fried rice and pad Thai for the rest of us to share. We also had the appetizer sampler because, golden fritters, hellooooooo! Veggie dumplings and lemongrass Tom yum soup rounded out the meal. The portions are big enough to share and the flavors are so good. The prices have definitely increased from when we first started eating here but the quality of the food is worth it. You won't be disappointed.

Thai place in the upper east side makes me worried that things are bougified and westernized and there's definitely evidence on the menu of this. Fortunately the food is still good. More like 3.5 DRUNKEN NOODLE Nice wavy and chewy noodles, a little on the wet side, tender chicken. Not spicy in and of itself so you'll have to maybe ask if that's what you're looking for. Good texture to the noodles though CHICKEN SATAY The peanut sauce was very thick almost like a paste and one of the skewers was over cooked but the rest were enjoyable still. THAI ICED TEA What you expect from a thai iced tea - sweet, creamy, yummy.

Drunk Man Noodles with shrimp - spicy and tasty!
Dimitri S.

Solid fare at a nice price point. Iced Thai coffee was refreshing and balanced the heat from the Drunk man noodles. The appetizer lettuce wraps with chicken was also tasty. Great lunch special with lots of options. Attentive service and the kitchen was quick to send both courses out.

Shrimp Golden Fritters

Great experience ordering take out lunch here. Food was prepped on time and the order was accurate. I had the chicken pad Thai with the shrimp fritter appetizer. The pad thai was a bit sweeter than I expected and would have been a bit better if I could adjust the spice level. The shrimp fritter was more like a fried chicken shu mai, I'm not sure if there was any shrimp in it, but it was pretty good with the sweet dipping sauce. A nice place to stop by for lunch!

Drunk Man Noodles

Quiet corner restaurant with plenty of seating! I came here for a quick Thai fix and left satisfied. The place has a modern look to it and the service is efficient. It's a bit on the expensive side, but understand me considering the location and ambiance. We ordered pad Thai spring rolls to start which tasted oddly sour and the vermicelli was undercooked on the inside. For our entrees, we ordered the drunken noodles with less spice which they easily accommodated. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and not over cooked. Their pad Thai has a twist on it -- it was more saucy than other pad Thai dishes and had a red hue to it which was unique. The panang curry had just the right of spice to it. I wish the dish came with a bit more chicken in it. The food is pretty standard here for a Thai place.

My office ordered from Spice Thai today. The curry puffs were horrible. Only diced potatoes in it and some other stuff coud not figure out what is was, but it is a disgrace to call them curry puffs. 2nd dish was the pineapple fried rice which was edible. The only issue is there was undercooked chicken and shrimp. Make sure your food is cooked right, so people do not get sick. Never would I eat here again.

Excellent food. Great service. Small but comfortable restaurant. Can be quite spicy so you may want to ask to tone it down a bit.

Amazing ambiance inside (I ADORED the gold hanging decor on the ceiling) Bathrooms were very clean and staff was so efficient and friendly. The ambience is very welcoming and trendy with a whole vibe.

However, when I got to the restaurant, I was told that they were not participating. When I brought this up to the staff, they did comment that several people made the same mistake earlier in the week. If that was the case, then why not correct the restaurant week website, or make it very obvious on your website that you aren't participating? Both of us were starving, and I had put in a birthday request at the restaurant, so we decided to stay. The ambiance is classy, and this would be a great spot for a business dinner or date night. I ordered a massaman curry with roti and chicken ($29), and my friend ordered the chuchi shrimp ($30) and curry puff ($16). Prices are a bit above average for the portion size, but justified by the area. We both enjoyed our dishes; the flavors were on point! Then, for my friend's birthday, they gave us mochi ice cream and a card signed by the staff! That was a nice touch that overrode the restaurant week debacle. Service was fantastic. There were multiple check backs and water refills. I would recommend Sabai Thai for a fancy night out, and I would return to try other dishes.
