My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch at Spire's Restaurant. The landscaping was neatly trimmed and the entranceway clean and inviting. We were cheerfully greeted as we entered and seated immediately. Our server, Mary, was very pleasant, answered my husband's questions graciously and was solicitous throughout our meal. The manager, Jerry stopped by our table , engaged in a friendly conversation and ensured we were satisfied . We thoroughly enjoyed both the delicious food and the relaxing atmosphere, and Spire's has gained 2 new regular customers. Thank you. read more

The following review is my opinion based on my experience at this dining establishment. The breakfast I didn't know I wanted. The country breakfast. Let's start off with the best part. The star of the show, the eggs. Not overcooked but not wet. Fluffy and flavorful. I had to add but that's normal. Then we have the sausage and the hash browns. I couldn't help but eat them together. They completed each other so perfectly. It was so special. The biscuits and gravy were normal at best however. The biscuits were wonderfully fluffy and salty. Mmmmmm buttery. The one complaint I have is the gravy. Mushy and clumpy, tasted like my grandmother's flavorless beans. The serving staff were wonderful and polite as always. Great customer service. I highly recommend this fine dining establishment to anyone who doesn't expect to have a gourmetmeal but wants a great tasting home style meal. I remembered coming here during New Years Weekend and then I came visited this past one as well. Wanting a quick breakfast diner kind of food, I stopped here as it was near my hotel across the street. Lots of families and seniors come here, especially during the weekend. It has a family diner vibe to it. I want to talk about my most recent visit here, as I got the chocolate chip full order pancakes and the corned beef hash breakfast entree. I want to point out that the servers and bussers here are very attentive and polite. I have been fortunate as of late to encounter such kind people, especially with today's social climate. Make sure that you tip them well. The corned beef hash was salty and savory. The sourdough bread that I had for my toast helped balanced the salt out for sure. I did not care much for the country potatoes with the bell peppers though. The chocolate chip pancakes was not what I was expecting, it tasted like soft muffins, but for breakfast. This was a great thing for me, I love having me some soft pancakes for breakfast. The scrambled eggs tasted fine as well. The wait for food was pretty decent, as I went on a busy Sunday morning. I did not get coffee at this diner, yet I saw the hostesses slinging it around the whole morning. I waited about 25 minutes for my food, which is not bad at all. The value of the meal that I paid for here was worth it. The friendly experience with the staff already had me impressed at this diner, which is located in the Ontario convention center area. They got lunch and dinner options too. I left full and content. Two big thumbs up from me. read more

A COZY FAMILY RESTAURANT! Spires is a mix of a Denny's, Norms, and Coco's with a slightly more charming design than Cocos. The circular restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. I recommend the Spires Original Beefeater which comes with thinly sliced roast beef with melted jack cheese on grilled Parmesan cheese bread. It's tasty and the meat is perfect. The bread on the sandwich could be improved, it's not as "Parmesan-y" as it could've been. The fries are thick and accompany the sandwich well. The waitress was super nice, she took down my order wrong and came back to apologize after I was given the wrong meal. I got my correct meal after a little longer of a wait and she kept apologizing for the error. That's good service when staff have accountability! I mentioned I had a Yelp offer of a free coffee but she forgot. Hopefully next time I can get it. Therefore, if you have a free coffee offer, make sure you keep reminding the staff if you want it! The restaurant was clean, mellow and everyone was attentive to the customers. Spires has some lunch specials and great dinners/breakfasts for seniors! The restaurant also has a fridge with desserts inside. Idk if they're made fresh here or not, however everything looked enticing! I ordered pick up due to being at the convention center and had a lunch session. This place isn't too far and seemed like a good option. -Asked for crispy fries - received soggy. And no, they were not picked up late from the time stated for pick up -soggy bread on the club sandwich -pickles on the grilled california chicken sandwich with no mention of them on the menu. I'm allergic to pickles, so this made it inedible. I found all of this after getting back into the convention center(another $10 for re-entry to the parking lot), so I wasn't able to get anything remade. I'm not from the area- but I definitely won't be making a stop at this restaurant if I'm ever around here again. read more

Childhood memories growing up. My mom and I would come up here and eat so it's nice to see them still around. Theres a few favorites I get out of here like their French toast and some of their omelettes. The food has always been good each and every time. I really come for breakfast but their lunch menu is pretty good. I do like their burger lineup. Good sandwiches too. Maybe next time I'll finally give the fried chicken a try. Spires is a very good diner that is a great value. The service is excellent and quick. Probably better known as a breakfast joint I came for dinner. Other posts commented about how good the soup is and I agree after having the chicken and rice soup. Its flavors blended nicely. The chicken fried steak dinner is good; full of flavor and filling. Humorous point: only in California do you need to specify that a chicken fried steak be made with steak or chicken. I thought the other would be a fried chicken patty. read more

Spires is a favorite of my moms and when we lived in the I.E. we came here often. We were out and about running errands in the area and got hungry. We stopped in to Olive Garden, but it was a 45 minute wait......for Olive Garden??? Hell naw. We pulled out and my mom said roll down the street to Spires. So glad we did. No wait and had great, solid diner food. The potato leek soup was absolutely amazing and tasted homemade. I could have eaten two bowls. The fried zucchini was also perfectly fried and not greasy sticks. For the price you pay, you get a lot of food! We were both full and happy and got to dine in a quiet environment. Had never been here before and came today for my uncles birthday with family (they hadn't been either). Only a few minutes in, 3 of us waiting and we ordered our drinks as we waited for the rest of our party. We 3 ordered the combo appetizer so that when the rest of our party showed up it would come out and we could all munch on something as they decided their order. Food: Food was alright, classic diner style meals. Overall wasn't all that impressed by it. Food was warm, but not as hot as the appetizer. The appetizer didn't come out until 40min later along with the rest of our orders and was MUCH hotter than the rest of our plates. We were told that a number of orders were put in and so it was pushed back on being made, but when we asked our waitress to simply not bring it out and take it off we were told she would still bring it out. Service: Service wasn't bad overall. Seeing most of the servers stay on top of their tables pretty frequently. I'm not sure if our waitress is new, but she seemed to have been very busy with numerous tables that it appeared she was not able to keep up with the orders as some of our plates were still messed up a bit. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of the food, but I'd recommend looking at the other posted photos for that. read more

We have been coming to Spires Restaurant in Ontario on Vineyard for years. They always have a great menu and weekly specials. Spires has hosted our local mystery luncheons and has the best waitress, Eva. Eva is a sweet person and she has a great memory on those of us that usually order the same dishes whether it is breakfast or lunch. Lately, we have noticed what seems to be a change in personnel. Maybe the owners sold off this site. Hope not as whom they have now are great personnel! And the atmosphere in the restaurant is always relaxing and fun to be there. We had an awesome breakfast this morning. Pancakes were so light and fluffy they melted in my mouth and my husband's ribeye and eggs medium was cooked perfectly. Everything came out hot and quick. No fuss dining. If you like inexpensive and decent food, try Spires. It's like a Dennys but a bit better. I really like the courteous & efficient service. Our waitress kept our glasses full (soda & coffee) and was very friendly. It's not 5 star dining, but serviceable fare. I ordered the Fried Chicken dinner (salad was just chopped iceberg & croutons) but I didn't expect much. My son had the Steak dinner. He liked it, but it's not Black Angus quality.... Great ambiance the decor is very clean and every staff member was there to help. Our food came at a timely manner since we were there in town to see our great niece compete in gymnastics regionals at Ontario Convention Center. Our waitress took our order and within 15 minutes our food was in front of us, the temperature of our food was great everything was perfect and our waitress was there refilling our glasses with water and mugs with coffee. If we are in town again we will definitely be stopping here again read more

It's your typical (in a good way) coffee shop; but with really friendly waitresses who make sure your order comes in a good time. That's a big plus; because they're less than 2 miles away from Ontario Airport in southern California. So, if you're running a bit behind; and still have time? After a day at the Rose Bowl was hungry! Stayed at the Double Tree and saw this restaurant coming in. My wife had breakfast with the egg omelet with Rice Pudding for dessert. I had chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, zuchinni, and vegetable soup. All incredible and huge portions, including the coconut cream pie for dessert. We were in a hurry to catch a plane but wanted to eat outside the ONT airport because they have very little food inside. Spires Is not classy but it's the kind of food that will keep the tourist going. They do not have a deck but there are two booths placed outside the front door. It was Sunday at noon and the indoor restaurant was full but no one else wanted to sit in the open air. We are old folks and are still doing that. Jesse Was right there taking our order and almost immediately back with it. The food was excellent and hard considering the type of restaurant we were in. We will return on our next flight. read more
