Service at the bar is horrible. Sat down before 12 at the bar- asked the bartender if they had certain type of beers I wanted and she said no. I had gotten the menu from the hostess so I was looking to see what I would get. 10 minutes sitting down at the bar and the bartender never came back to ask me for my drink or food order. She kept walking around the bar setting it up and getting it ready for the day. She would chat with other employees but never came to ask me for my order. Overall HORRIBLE experience Crab fries: underwhelming flavor and overall ugh... the seasoning and sauce was awful. Fries underdone and unseasoned beneath top layer. Pork rolls: lacking flavor, mostly bread and needed seasoning or something much better. Wouldn't recommend. Steamed Oysters (6): surfing sauce was off today. The oysters didn't hit like they usually do. All flavor just tasted watered down Combo 4: king crab, shrimp The sauce lacked all forms of seasoning although it was supposed to be the surfing crack special. The crab seemed to be steamed with no seasoning or butter, inside meat super bland. When dipped in sauce it was more disappointing. When we expressed the issue we were brought a cup of butter and a side of old bay. Shrimp was bland. Sausage tasted like ballpark franks. Potatoes were hard and not cooked well. Overall HORRIBLE experience. Waited 20 mins before we could tell the server because they went MIA. read more

I would love to give them 5 stars due to the food actually being really good! But I just didn't like the service over the phone, I am not sure if the young lady could not hear me, but it was a miscommunication a few time no biggie the order was still correct. Now portion wise I ordered a kids meal tenders and fries and it came with two tenders and a bunch of fries for $7. Also I know this is not under the restaurant's control but I open two crawfish and they had some red looking circles which I skeptical on eating, especially being pregnant. I googled it and come to find it out it was ROE 'the poor crawfish was pregnant. I never had this happen to me before so I am just a little freaked out and may not eat crawfish for a while. I ordered crawfish.. I'm not sure if it's a bias thing but I'm from the coast line far down south... The crawfish was very bland. It was undercooked.. I'm assuming they don't let their crawfish soak. The seasoning wasn't nothing special. The butter sauce was just melted butter with no seasoning added. Sausages were okay they cut the meat in thin slices which is okay. Overall it was just boiled crawfish thrown in a bag with seasoning. I tasted no skill in the meal.. next time I visit San Antonio I'll stay away from the surfing crab. read more

I've always had good servers and if the service is ever slow it's usually during a busy time Friday or evenings is when it gets packed. The food is usually on point. However, I did get my boil and the crab legs were cold didn't seem like they steamed them long enough, I asked for them to remake it and they kindly did. I just wish they had a nicer bathroom since seafood boils require you to wash your hands a lot. The bathroom is always dirty and smells, overall the food is always on point and the service is usually pretty good. read more

My husband and I went here on a whim. We had heard good things from some good friends. We were not impressed. We eat crab about 4 times a year for birthdays and special occasions. First the name to me says they are a crab place. Their menu focus seemed to be on shrimp mussels and crawfish. Their shrimp and crawfish were not purged well. My husband got dungeoness crab, which either was cooked wrong or just bad quality as it came out in tiny pieces. We heard another table complaining about the same thing. I got a combination that had snow crab, shrimp and crawfish. My crab was cooked perfectly. It came out In beautiful whole pieces without much effort, but I could hardly taste it for the sauce. I got the old bay and garlic sauce. My husband got the Cajun sauce. Don't be fooled it is sauce not seasoning. There was no actual seasoning in the shellfish. The garlic was super chunky and was like they used a whole jar of the minced garlic in each bag. Even though my husband ordered Cajun his was covered in garlic too, so either they got his sauce wrong or they do this with everything. The sausage was like cheap grocery store sausage. HEB brand would have been much better. The bathrooms were pretty dirty. My husband said the men's room had the fixtures torn off the wall and pipes were stuffed with paper towels. The staff was a little distant. The busers seemed to be High School students. There was a lot of cussing and someone made a comment about one not being old enough to do something. The lobster tail was so overcooked it felt like rubber and was inedible we actually tried to eat it and could not.
