    Basil Tofu
    Debbie K.

We ordered veganized dishes: Drunken Noodle with tofu and no fish sauce or oyster sauce, Green Curry with tofu and no fish sauce, and Basil Tofu with no fish sauce. The food came out delicious. The only critics are too much oil and portions are not big. But the taste of each dish is amazing! It seems that it is a neighborhood Thai restaurant with regular customers. The place is small with 5 tables only and crowded as every table was filled. They have outside tables too which are ok during a better weather. They also have $10 lunch specials which are popular.

I've wanted to try this place for a while, and I'm glad I did. I had the teriyaki shrimp and the Orange Chicken lunch special. Everything was delicious. The lunch special was only $11 and it included rice, salad, egg roll and soup. What a deal. The lady working was really sweet. I think she might be the owner. Give them a try, it's really good.

This place used to be so legit and authentic. I swung by after a long day, lured in by the memory of their once-glorious Pad Thai. Ordered the chicken Pad Thai close to closing time because, hey, it was convenient--and I hadn't been here in years. But, folks, let me tell you, nostalgia isn't always your friend. The food tasted a little off, but I figured my tired taste buds were just being dramatic. Turns out they were waving red flags, but I was too tired to see them. Fast-forward to 4 a.m., and I'm in the bathroom auditioning for a horror movie, liquid effects and all. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say I've spent more time in my bathroom today than I have sleeping in the past 24 hours. It's like my body wanted a full detox...just didn't want it that badly. To the owner, who served this dish with a friendly smile: please, for the love of everyone's digestive system, keep a closer eye on your ingredients. It's been real (a little too real), but you can be sure I won't be coming back for a second round. Thanks for the memories, even if they came with a side of sleep deprivation.

You'll be pleased with yellow and green curry but the Penang curry is the best around town! A little spicy but brings out the flavors. Soup was ok. Wonderful service, kind and speedy. Small intimate place. Good for sit in or takeout. Will order or visit again soon.

I can't say enough about this spot! It's a great, affordable authentic Thai restaurant that doesn't lack quality food and amazing customer service. I'm lucky enough to come here at least once a month with my office and it NEVER disappoints! Highly recommend the yellow Thai curry lunch special since you get SOO much food for $10. Servings potions are abundant throughout the menu so if you haven't tried this spot, you're missing out big time!

We were seated right away. The space is narrow and only has several tables for dine-in. I think that there are probably more people who order for pickup because a lot came in to grab their food during our entire visit. It seems they have a good amount of regulars too. Almost like the Cheers bar in MA where everybody knows your name. Kinda nice actually. What we ordered: 1) pad see ew with crispy pork - 5/5. The kids loved this so much we needed up having to order two. 2) garlic salmon - 4/5. Served over a bed of veggies. This one was à la cart so we had to order a side of rice. It's enough for one person. This was covered with garlicky goodness. My son was wanting more. 3) Panang curry - 5/5. Not pictured here. One of our guests started to devour that dish before I could even take a photo. Sadly, they weren't familiar with me wanting to take a picture. The kids were like "oh no. We don't touch our food before the little photoshoot" LOL. Overall, we really enjoyed our food. I'm not in the area frequently, but if I was around and wanted Thai, I would definitely come back for more. Service was great and staff were attentive and friendly. What more could you ask for?

I ordered the Khao Soi Fried Rice and the Khao Soi, both with the spicy pork Thai sausage. The Khao Soi Fried Rice was easily a 10/10. It somehow tasted exactly like khao soi noodles but in fried rice form. They really captured the flavor of the dish perfectly, and the mix of textures from the crispy and softer elements made every bite great. The spicy pork Thai sausage was another 10/10. It had a ton of flavor, was noticeably better than the Thai sausage I've had at other Thai restaurants, and stayed juicy without being dry. The Khao Soi itself was a solid 9/10. The broth was rich, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. My only minor preference would be slightly thicker noodles with a bit more chew, but that's completely personal taste and not really a knock on the dish. Overall, everything was delicious and I'd absolutely come back for that Khao Soi fried rice alone!

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

They can't even spare a container for the Murtabak, it came wrapped in foil LOL. Like not even inside a container, it was just swished around the bag wrapped in foil. On top of it, it was soggy as F. Typically, restaurants will poke holes in the container to let it "breathe" in order to keep roti crisp even if you line it with foil and if they don't know about this, idk why they're even a restaurant. The lack of knowledge on this makes it questionable. Moving onto the Roti with curry, curry was meh. Usually you get hit with an aroma of inviting spices but this one just taste like what I find in frozen aisles or prepackaged cube curry. Nothing stands out. What a let down.. on top of that, roti seems like it was frozen, not fresh and soggy. It tasted like a scallion pancake without flavor, non of that puff pastry crusty, buttery and flakey texture you'd get from real authentic places. Food quality is definitely lacking here. In addition, the portion is so small, so laughable. (Refer to pic) The chicken satay came wrapped in a white paper bag which should have been foil so that it doesn't create moisture and then dry out the chicken. Idk what's with their packaging but again, you can't even spare a container? Instead you just opt to use a ton of plastic to wrap everything. It took such a long time to unwrap everything because they wrap every single sauce container, plastic container, paper container in Saran Wrap. A bit unenvironmental. The peanut sauce that came with the satay wasn't at all delicious nor authentic. Usually I'd want a refill of that sauce, but I end up just skipping it in the end because it wasn't even all that great. Lastly the laksa was decent but nothing to write home about. I've also never really had a laksa without prawns before, this version came with weird types of tofu (one that had a purple filling which had no taste) and fried tofu wedges (which is fine). There were two fish balls. Honestly this laksa tastes just decent, definitely not a signature item in any realm. I've had better laksa in Irvine from a place not specializing in laksa. I guess as long as you don't expect it to be like Ipoh Kopitiam quality then it's OK.
