The menu here isn't massive but they do have a solid amount of poke bowls as well as a customizable burrito option if the one featured isn't what you want. I was feeling easy so I stuck to the menu and ordered a Spicy Tuna Burrito as well as some taro chips and some mango pineapple lemonade to wash it down. The food was done pretty quickly and we ended up eating in the lobby area. The spicy tuna burrito itself was pretty solid, though not very memorable. The taro chips were okay and the same can go for the mango pineapple lemonade. I don't have anything negative to say about anything I had, but none of it left much of an impression on me. Overall, I left Sweetfin Poke with pretty mixed feelings. Nothing I ate was bad by any means, but I also can't see myself spending $14 on a burrito as well as $5.50 for a bag of taro chips on a frequent basis, the prices are definitely on the high side for how much you are getting. I am a fan of Sweetfin! There is nothing like a high quality poke bowl made with so much creativity an interesting flavors on a lunch break! The first time I had delivery from here, I tried their truffled Yuzu albacore bowl with mushrooms and bamboo rice. The fish was so creamy, fresh, and the bamboo rice, light, and fragrant. I had it with a side of Sriracha mayo which gave it even more creamy richness! The next bowl I tried was a Yuzu salmon poke bowl with black rice and their citrus kale salad. The fish and veggies was incredibly fresh. However, I will stick to the bamboo rice for next time since the black rice was a bit heavy and the citrus kale a little too tart for my taste. Extra salmon seems like it's barely enough of a decent serving but would like a bit more. Size of the bowls are on the smaller size, especially compared to something like sweet green. I I honestly don't understand how this bowl was served to a customer. The macadamia nuts were so stale and rancid that the entire bowl was completely inedible. They had a strong, old, plastic-like taste that overpowered everything else. At first I thought maybe it was just me, so I asked my husband to try it -- he immediately agreed that something was seriously wrong with it. This isn't a subtle issue. It was bad enough that I could not eat the food at all. What's most concerning is that this clearly means nobody in the store is checking ingredient freshness or quality. Rancid nuts don't happen overnight. That's basic food safety and quality control. To make matters worse, I had pre-ordered this meal because I only had a 30-minute lunch break at work, so I didn't have the luxury of going back or ordering something else. I essentially paid for a meal I couldn't eat. On top of that, there were maybe six small pieces of fish in the entire bowl. It was difficult to even tell what type it was because it was drenched in spicy mayo, but regardless, the portion was extremely skimpy for the price. Not only that, but they messed up by base to my bowl and drowned the entire bowl in this thick sauce, to the point that you can barely taste the fish. Definitely one of the worst tasting poke places in LA. Staff: most of the staff is pleasant except for this gentleman that seems like he is the manager. The portion is small like many have said in which case when I decided on having my order delivered I decided on getting the bigger size. I tried to go to the one in Pasadena but it is a 3rd party store front which is not want I wanted. I wanted to order from the actual restaurant. Anyways... I ordered 1 large Yuzu Salmon Poke Bowl with tip included it came out to $35.90. How crazy is that? I only gave like a $5-$7 tip because of traffic purposes. When I got my order it looked as though the bowl was the same sized bowl but there was more rice in it. I thought I would receive more Salmon too because that is what I should be paying more for. Rice is cheap so it does not make sense to pay more for rice and not the protein I had ordered for my bowl. I get that inflation is hurting everyone but this felt like highway robbery. I cannot comment about the location nor can I comment about the service because I was not physically in the restaurant. The use of my phone for ordering the food was fine. Yelp made it really easy to navigate what it is that I wanted and what I do not want in my bowls. The person who picked up the order for me was relatively nice they got to my apartment in a timely manner given that it was during rush hour traffic on a Friday night.
