My friend and I both got the steak pho and it was delicious. One bowl is $16.50 and it came with large portions. The inside is very clean and a good atmosphere to catch up with friends. The service was also very efficient and fast located in the castro!

Had a late lunch at Tanglad and had a really solid experience overall. I ordered the beef and shrimp noodle bowl, which was pretty good. Service was quick and easy from the start. We were able to choose our own seating, which was nice, and didn't wait more than about 5 minutes to get our drinks. Another 5 minutes after that, someone came by to take our order, so everything moved along smoothly without feeling rushed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's seating inside, but also a porch right along the main street, which is perfect if you catch a sunny/cool day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is a big plus too. It's on the same street as the Castro Theatre and surrounded by other restaurants, dessert spots, and bars, so it's a fun area to hang out before or after your meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cozy Viet restaurant in the middle of Castro[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], got the papaya salad and want to come back to try the pho and five spice chicken. Service was quick and friendly, and got seated with no wait for a weekday dinner. Wish the shrimp portion was a bit larger but enjoyed the light dressing on the salad itself.

A hearty meal before a night out and rainy week in February. No wait on a Thursday 6:15pm and my order came out quickly. I guess the broth is already made and ready to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating, it has a very warm feeling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered a steak and beef ball pho ($16.50). The broth has good flavor, a more sweeter flavor. I would prefer a bit more noodles and bean sprouts, but plenty of pho for me. The steak pieces were tender, the beef pho were not as chewy compared to other pho places. Overall, solid option for food in Castro.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]a pretty casual and small vietnamese restaurant in castro, I think it leans towards american viet tastes as it's not super authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] we got the pork vermicelli bowl ($16), five spice chicken pho ($16.50), and imperial rolls ($8 for 6). the pork was missing some depth of flavor and the rolls weren't the best texture

Was en route back to our hotel in Union Square and wanted something hot for dinner like ramen or Pho and found this place right around the corner on Castro St (I prefer Pho over ramen any day). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was not too busy but not too empty with plenty of indoor sidewalk seating and a couple of tables inside as the wind was picking up and breezy outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was super sweet and told us to take a seat wherever we'd like. Our order was promptly taken and we started off with the spring rolls and they were cut up into six big pieces and huge! I ordered the chicken pho with white meat and BFF ordered the combination pho and both came out quickly with the toppings on the side and portions were huge as well. Pricing is on par with other restaurants (about 15 bucks for pho) & it was delicious but was missing just a tad of flavor and I think it was the anise that most Viatnamese restaurants put in their pho. I highly recommend this place for their food and support of the LGBTQ+ community (which business wouldn't be in the heart of Castro) with PRIDE flags inside the restaurant and being so warm and welcoming.

Five spice chicken was very good and flavorful. I added it to the spring roll and made it a meal!

Friendly fast service. The vermicelli with grilled pork was good and chock full of veggies with tasty fried onions and nice thick cuts of grilled pork.

Really really like the pork belly sandwich. Quick bite, filling and tasty! Pho too was satisfying enough and [[HIGHLIGHT]]good amount of seating to not have to wait too long to enjoy some comfort food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] :)

The food is so good and the service is top tier. This is my second time here and I will definitely come back. Also, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

We were nearby, so we came back here, and it's still a decent pho spot, though nothing really stands out about it. The service was fast, and the process was easy since you just go in, pick a table, and they come take your order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They stayed pretty busy the whole time we were there, maybe because of the location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was so good that I went back two days later to have more. Right on Castro. Easily accessible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have an area that they open up the windows so it's like you're eating outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is amazing. Very attentive and helpful. Both times I ate there I went away stuffed. And the food has just a great flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think it was the best. Pho I've ever eaten.

I've not had enough right, but I have to say the garlic noodles. Here are the bomb. They spice chicken with the garlic noodles at an affordable price was quite a tasty treat on a cool summer day in San Francisco. The service staff are quick to show you to a table, which I've seen another time before when I've been here, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it has a nice casual atmosphere. You can sit closer to the street for a cooler experience or seat deeper inside where you can be a little more warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]overall, it's a nice casual place for quick service and scrumptious food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

"IT'S QUE VIET!"…read more No Superman here, but let me be your hero for a second because I'm about to put you on to, hands down, **the best Vietnamese food I've ever had**. I actually discovered Que Viet through DoorDash and had everything delivered. I ordered the Deep-Fried Imperial Rolls (Cha Gio), Grilled Chicken & Chicken Imperial Roll Garlic Noodles (Mi Top Ga Nuong Cha Gio Ga), Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls (Nem Cuon), Vietnamese Shrimp Mini Crepes (Banh Xeo Tom), and the Grilled Pork Sausage & Sliced Pork Woven Vermicelli (Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong). Yes... I spent almost **$100 for two people**. Looking back at the receipt, I had to ask myself, *"Is this place expensive, or am I just fat?"* Honestly... probably a little of both. Either way, it was one of the best $100 I've ever spent. If it's your first time ordering from Que Viet, do yourself a favor and get the **garlic noodles**. I know garlic noodles are everywhere these days, but these completely changed my expectations. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible bounce, packed with rich garlicky flavor, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers (if you have the self-control). I also tried the **Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong** for the first time, and it did not disappoint. One heads-up, though: it's generously topped with crushed peanuts. My friend has a peanut allergy, so thankfully we caught it before digging in. If you have any nut allergies, be sure to mention it when ordering. Every single dish arrived fresh, flavorful, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen despite being delivered. That's not something you can say about many places. If you ever find yourself in the city, you **need** to make a stop at Que Viet. This place has been living rent-free in my head ever since, and I already know I'll be back the next chance I get.

Some dishes were better prepared than others, but overall, the food was solid across the board. If you enjoy making your own spring rolls, you'll love the grilled pork skewers. The pork is super tender and has such a incredible flavor profile of lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and more. Rolled up with the woven vermicelli noodles and fried wonton crisps in a rice paper, you get a wonderful combination of texture in a single bite. The other crowd favorite of the night was the bánh xèo -- the stuffed rice crepe. The bánh xèo here is by far the best one that I've ever had, even surpassing ones I had in Vietnam. The outside was insanely crispy and and was surprisingly not particularly oily, while the inside was loaded with fillings. Two other dishes that were well received by the group was the betel leaf wrapped grilled beef and the sugar cane shrimp. The beef had a very similar flavor profile as the pork, but the texture was a lot more lean. The shrimp had a bouncy, yet firm texture to it, and was very well-seasoned. My only qualm with the shrimp dish is that the sugarcane did not actually have any sweetness to it. There's fish sauce on the table along with a shrimp paste sauce, but to be honest, every dish we had was so flavorful on its own, the sauces aren't even needed. The only dish that we ordered that fell short was the grilled river shrimp. The presentation of the shrimp is impressive and very photogenic, but the flavor was lacking and the cook was inconsistent. Some people had shrimp that was undercooked -- borderline raw, and on the other end of the spectrum, others had shrimp that was so overcooked, that it was very difficult to remove the shrimp from the shell without completely tearing the meat. That said, everything else we ordered was well-prepared, and very tasty. Service was good throughout the meal, and I would definitely come back again for a meal with a large group. 4.5 experience rounding up to a 5.

The wonton skins were a tad overcooked, but the meat filling was bouncy, juicy, fresh, and flavorful. Similarly, the ho fun rice noodles were a bit overcooked and broke apart easily.
