A very good Thai spot without being really expensive. I really enjoy their pad thai here, which is, I guess, a more "moist" style of pad thai maybe? Moister than some other places, at least. The eggplant delight was also very enjoyable and could probably act as a curry even. Service is polite. The only thing I can complain about is that the restroom is located not within the restaurant. Although Ive had some minor issues 2/3 times I came here in the past month, I must say this is one of the rare places that actually got the way I want my Pad Thai done; wet. When I tell other restaurants to do it, they tell me that it can't be done. I've tried their lunch plate which was okay but my last two visits; I ordered my wet pad thai and my thai tea with no ice. On my last visit, the lady tried to pull a 3/4 cup filled thai tea for me because I asked for no ice. So I asked them to put some more. Good thing they agreed otherwise they'll lose my business. If it wasn't for the Pad Thai, I'll probably never come back here. * Quick tip: if you're going to use the $5 off grub hub that is placed at the entrance of the restaurant; save yourself some trouble and don't use on your phone because it won't work. My family and I recently moved to Sunnyvale and this was the first restaurant we visited. The Thai was great. We did pick up and did not eat at the restaurant. One thing that did not sit well was that after I had spent $37 on a meal I was still charged $2 for cup of ice water togo. Ive never been charged for water Togo before. read more

I believe that the waiter took 10 minutes to come back after we were handed our menus on Jan 15, 2014 because we kept holding them tightly in our hands as we considered our options. When we sat them down, service resumed. My dinner mate and I both ordered a variation of the yellow curry (yellow curry pumpkin was a vegetarian selection but I sullied it with some bird added by request). One of the better yellow curries I've had the good fortune to encounter, frankly, although I envisioned pumpkin in the sauce and not the chunks of pumpkin flesh that arrived. Not to worry, it was quite good and I could still make out a slight pumpkin flavor as such. At the end of our meal, we inquired about the facilities and were instructed to go outside, around the back, and then back in the back door. There's a guy chopping onions by the doorway. Smile. I was afraid at first by the cafeteria style layout but I was there so I had to man-up. Good news, there is glass separating the masses, the staff scoops up and serves up the food. It's semi-busy each time I've been there. Seems like a lot of frequent flyers that know everyone by name. Anyway, pick your rice (white or brown) and pick 2 or 3 items and you're good to go. My fave is GREEN CURRY which is semi spicy and really good. Usually green curry is light and almost sweet but I love the way they make it. Def a go to place for me for a quite bite. This is my favorite Thai Restuarant in the South Bay. My wife and I visited Thailand this past summer (May '06) and we have been looking for a restuarant with the same taste and atmosphere that we experienced. Try the Spicy Eggplant Delight and Mussaman Curry. I also found a trick to determine if a Thai restuarant is authentic. Look for a picture of the Rama (King of Thailand). Heres what my family got and a review of each item thai curry fired rice with chicken spicy (not thai spicy) : best thing on here and full of flavor!!! 5/5 red curry roasted duck : small portion but very tastey. Its actually peking duck in red curry. duck was good, but the curry was okay 4/5 seafood red house curry house special: lots of seafood! Curry is okay. could use more heat and they add a little too much coconut milk. Ive had much better currys 3.5/5 Shrimp Pad thai with tofu : full of flavor and was delicious. Just a tad too sweet 4/5 Beef with onions : why the f did i order this? 2.5/5 bill came out to 53 bucks with tip. I absolutely love this place and I qm a frequent customer. I normally get pad thai with shrimp and spicy tuna rolls. I would say that 98% percent of the time I am one happy camper, but I did notice that there are times where the pad thai I ordered tasted different from what I usually get. I guesd it all depends who is cooking in the kitchen. It would be nice to see a bit more consistency with food preparation. I will say that the staff is very pleasant with good attitude. I am surprised that this restaurant has a high rating. This restaurant has the same sort of "service model" that Panda Express has - you pick what you want and they serve it onto a plate. Most of the items are curry based - ideal as it helps them cut down on cost because water based curries are far cheaper than "drier" entrees. They provide very little rice, so if you make the mistake of picking 3 items, like I did, you have a very wet soggy plate with barely enough rice for the amount of gravy/liquid floating around. The wet entree items tend to mix around and after a few minutes of eating, you have everything all mixed up in a soggy, wet and confusing mixture. Very disappointing. My Friday lunch - and my Friday evening - was ruined at this establishment. I won't return. read more

Good customer service even though the restaurant was not very organized. Their food is not the best but quite okay. This is not a good place for groups since it's very small. Great place for cheap meals, though, but expect to wait for your turn to order if you come during lunch or dinner time. Make sure to order their Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. read more

It's hard to believe that this place has a surprising amount of not so satisfied ratings. I've been going to this place many years now and have yet to find disappointment other than I wish it was bigger so it wouldn't be packed. The service is great, the people who work there are soooooooooo nice. Always greeting you and making sure you have what you need and more. Not only that but they remember you and that's just pleasant. I love the food here, it always hits the spot for me. I don't remember every dish anymore because I've tried almost everything but the curry is great an so is the eggplant dish. This is the ONLY place where I can eat the eggplant dish-- everywhere else seems to not suit my pallet. The only dish I can remember disliking was the Gai Pad Ped. I had two types of noodles tonight: the pad woon sen and pad see ew. Although they did not oblige with my request to have the noodles made extra spicy at all, I have to say the taste was there and the portion size is enough. I have to emphasize the portion size here as I find myself continue to feel hungry agter finishing an entree in most Thai restaurants. Overall, a very good and solid Thai restaurant. Another place on my hitlist when the tummy is a grumbly. The food here is always tasty and they do switch up the menu from time to time. You can find veggie, non veggie, spicy and weaksauce. I usually order 3 spicy items served on steamed rice and warsh it down with a tea. I like my women the same as I like my tea... mocha colored and sweet..... Back to the review... Just had lunch over here and overall not a good experience. Its setup more like Panda Express where they have a bunch of different items already laid out. Their price for 2 items with rice is 7.50 just to give you guys an idea. I ordered off the menu because I was in the mood for some Thai Shrimp Fried Rice which was around $11. That threw them off completely. Three different people confimed with me if that was really what I wanted which kind of made me a little wary of the food quality. I decided to order take-out last week and chose Thai Spoons. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and their "Fried Chicken Nuggets" for me and my boyfriend. I waited less than 10 minutes before my order was ready to go! My total was $15 before tip and the service was very friendly. I saw that they also have really great lunch menu items at more than fair prices. The food was actually really good. I would order both dishes again for sure. I don't understand why people don't like this place! It's affordable, fast, friendly, and tasty. It's not the absolute best Thai food I've ever tasted, but I think it's more than average. First and foremost I have to commend this mom & pop shop on their stellar service. We had a large party of 10+ and stayed a little beyond their closing hour (9pm) but they gracious accommodated us and even encouraged us to order desserts :) YAY. I arrived the latest because I came from SF and the waitress was kind enough to offer to heat up my meal but I didn't want to trouble her. Later, 9.30pm, before leaving some folks wanted a snap shot and they took a photo for us even giving us instructions on where to stand in their shop for the best lighting. To top it all of, when we got the check. They had only charged us a gratuity of 15% instead of the 18% (for large groups). How sweet :) In total, $17/pax :) 1. Pad see ew - My first time having this dish. It was awesome! despite coming for dinner about 30 mins late and the food being a cold. I really liked the flat, thin noodles in dark sauce. They taste like char kway tiao (a famous singapore hawker dish). The meat, sliced pork, was good too. 2. Thai ice tea - I love this drink. A tad bit sweet but most thai ice teas are. Unfortunate for my waist line. 3. Mango sticky rice - Good. They were very generous with their mangos. The mangos were good but it would have been better if served chilled. 4. Tom yum gai - Didn't really like this version of the tom yum soup. It was way too sour for me. 5. Sauteed prawns - Ok. I'll be back again :) ... for ... The first bite of chicken Pad Thai was gristly and chewy. I put that aside and tried again. The second bite? Just chewy, still gross. I picked out all the chicken from my dish, and started eating the noodles. The sauce was non-existent, and after 3-4 bites I gave up and focused on the vegetarian egg rolls, which were excellent. This place is one of the places that I go for lunch. It's fairly small, but the staff is pretty nice and the restaurant gives off a home-like vibe, which is nice. Due to the size of the place, it's family owned and the whole restaurant would probably seat no more than 30 people. During their lunch period, they serve their dishes cafeteria-style. Basically you pick 2-3 dishes to go along with rice. I always get the Gai Pad Ped (small fried chicken nuggets) and the Eggplant Delight. The Gai Pad Ped is pretty crispy and is best when there's a fresh batch. It's one of the more popular items, so there's constant batches being cooked. The Eggplant Delight is pretty much eggplant and tofu in a curry. The coconut milk makes it's presence felt with each spoon/fork(ful) in your mouth. If cafeteria-style isn't your kind of thing, they do have a menu that you can order a specific dish from. From what I heard, dinner is strictly ordering from the menu. They actually do accept debit/credit cards, but it's a $15 dollar minimum. The couple that runs the place is pretty nice. Also, their Thai Iced Tea is one of the better ones that I've had; no one flavor overpowering all of the others, just a nice balance of chilled awesomeness. read more

The Good: Chicken, spicy beans, friendly service. The Bad: I'd like more rice. The Review: If you know me you know I'm not a big fan of Thai food. That is to say that I detest it. In fact the only reason I tried this place was because my friends at work offered to pay for my meal: if I didn't like it they'd stop bothering me and I got a free meal, if i did then I found a new place to eat: that's the definition of a win-win situation. And I sure did win. My favorite things to get here are the fried chicken and the spicy green beans. I'm sorry I couldn't get the actual names but thats what they are. My friends have told me that the Eggplant and Garlic Green Beans are also delicious. The fried chicken and green beans I usually get are spiced so perfectly and have so much flavor. If you've never been there before, the set up is similar to what you would find at Panda Express (although you can order off of a menu). The owners will usually make a fresh batch of chicken and beans when needed. My only gripe is that I wish they would serve the dishes with more rice, but I tend to eat more rice than most so the serving is probably appropriate. The service is fantastic, and the place has the feel of eating in someone's living room. I think I found a new spot. read more
