Came here with a few girlfriends. I think they were going to close soon and last call was 30 mins from when we came in. We've had kickin crab before but it was our first time in this location. The server was very friendly and kind. My girlfriends and I haven't seen each other in months and we were probably loud. We weren't rowdy, just a few girls catching up. So good! The right amount of seasoning. They keep the restaurant super cold so we were freezing. Take a jacket

Portion size was good but quality was not. Half the crawdads were spoiled or empty. The crab legs were tough. Muscles we're rubbery. The shrimp was good but not worth the $100+ price tag for the rest to be average. They only had snow crab available and nothing to crack the claws with. So we took the claws and several legs home since they didn't have any scissors or a crab mallet. So odd that a crab place doesn't have utensils to crack the shells. Plastic forks so couldn't use that either. You sit with your mess til you leave, no pre-bussing. Very small tables. After you order, the service is just them waiting for you to pay; no drink refills, no offering boxes, another beer, etc. had to go to counter to ask for these things. Service was lame and food was all over cooked besides the shrimp. Glad the kids were happy, so we stayed but won't be back. read more

We have been here so many times and this time while driving back home we felt and heard a weird noise coming from our car later to find out it was because our tire was loose & someone tried to steal it while eating here. My spouse and I frequently visit this place and always order crawfish when it's available, but we wanted clams and mussels instead, and I'm positive they don't clean them. We've tried them a few times and there's still a tiny bit of sand in them, but most recently we ordered two pounds of clams, and each clam was covered in sand. In order to remove the sand from our mouths, we immediately spit them out. There was grit in the sauce when we even got through the package. Fortunately, since we tossed away our clams, they arrived in a separate bag than our crawfish. It was a financial waste. read more

Barely edible slop... Barely. This is a vietnamese restaurant trying to pass for a "Cajun" restaurant... It's not, being from Cajun country, this is an insult to the word. I got the $8 cup of watery soup aka gumbo, the soup was spicy but without flavor other than the few bits of meat in it and no okra, celery, bell peppers, or onions. The $13 shrimp was unpeeled so you have to make a mess and a pile of skins just to be able to eat them, no shrimp sauce or anything to do them in. Just they dry, overcooked rubbery pieces of shrimp. Both of these were served with steamed white rice... Not dirty rice or even brown rice. As I said this is an Asian restaurant posing as a Cajun place. I was about to order fish and fries but asked what fish it was that they served... "white fish", not catfish but white fish which is worse than telapia... the server couldn't even tell me what it was. First time in the Long Beach area, first and last time at this place... Wouldn't recommend it to anyone especially anyone who knows what Cajun food is supposed to taste like. read more

I visited here on 10/12 and was skeptical because I arrived when they first opened. I hoped that I wouldn't receive leftover food from the day. I went home to eat and sure enough, everything was over cooked. They gave me food from the day before SMH. I know what leftovers taste like and am sure what I was given wasn't fresh. I was helped by a nice young lady though and SHE gets the stars not the food. read more

Happy that they opened up a location near my place here in L.B. . Food - Its decent but the sauce and quality of food could be a tap better as it taste better in O.C. they also don't do .5lbs orders here. Location - Kinda in the not so good area of LBC. Parking - Decent amount of parking in the lot. Prices - For 2 adults and a child I think it came out to like $155 kinda expensive but it is what it is. Service - Service was good and on point. Venue - Decent amount of seating, very clean since it's new, and great decor. Overall it's not a bad place to check out. read more

I was so disappointed today after work I decided to treat my son and myself to some seafood , when I first walked in service was immaculate. The host took down the number and I instantly received a text saying that the wait will be 30 minutes so I decided to wait in my car but I seen people after me being seated so I decided to walk and ask how long was the wait there was a new host by then, she seemed very confused and not sure what was going on so she proceeded to get the manager and I asked him how long was the wait he proceeded to say that he sent me a text message that I never received send. I showed him my phone and showed him that I was receiving text messages from other people ... and he couldn't even accommodate me. He literally said for me to wait and he's gonna put me at the bottom of the list instead of just sitting me down.after I waited 30 mins in the car in 10 mins of them trying to figure out where they went wrong ! First timer at Kickin Krab, I had high hopes but I personally was not a fan of the flavor. I tasted the teriyaki flavor more than anything else on my shrimp & when I got my Cajun fries, they reminded me of mc Donald's fries with a hint of paprika on top. The bathroom had no napkins available so had to walk out with wet hands. The server only came to check on us once, considering it was slow I was surprised. 100% would prefer to make the drive to Boiling Crab. Again this is in my opinion but I don't think kickin krab compares. read more

I like to have everything ready to smack it up so I beheaded all the shrimp and cracked the lobster claws and tail so I could eat without interruption. I dug in to that treat with fierce passion. The kickin crab is delicious, with fresh seafood and sides. I wonder if they have seasonal live crawfish? I always usually try to call in to check first but THEY NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE. Which a few times made me skip it all together because im looking for live crawfish. When I am There the service is pretty good. Not the best but not horrible. Ambiance is like any other crawfish Cajun spot and it's pretty spacious which is great. They do not show games which I feel like business would be alot better if they did. Higher sales for sure. Waited for 11/2 hours for my crab legs and shrimp and they never brought it to the table. 3 other tables sat after we had asked where our food was and they all received their food and we were left still waiting. We had 9 people and they brought out the appetizers and 3 fried fish dishes but none of the 6 boil in a bag orders. And like I said 3 other tables received theirs. And the supervisor said it was because the ticket never printed, but yet we received out other food. Worst of all, no apologies after we were actually pretty cool and not losing our composure.
