I've always wanted to try this restaurant but my schedule lately has been hectic so I decided to order through Uber Eats. I just wasn't a fan of what I ordered. The country fried chicken poutine was really bland. The pictures and reviews were misleading. The taste just wasn't for me, I think it was gravy and cheese together that just didn't sit right with my taste buds. The food came fast and it was fresh. Just not what I was expecting taste wise. I finally tried The Kroft after seeing how busy it gets and how good their smash burgers look. The service was quick! They ask for your phone number and text when the order is ready, which is very convenient as they have the burger boxed in a handle bag with napkins. They also have tap and can beer. I ordered the double smash burger and asked for it to be cut in half. I was not feeling hungry but as soon as I tried it I regretted my decision. It was so good! Simple, yet delicious. You could tell the meat was seared and flavored perfectly and the pepper jack cheese topped with the onions and mushrooms was a perfect combination. The Kroft is in the Hangar, the food court at Long Beach Exchange near Long Beach Airport. Their Porchetta Sandwich is what I'd highly recommend from here and it's probably the best food item at the Hangar. It features juicy pork, crispy pork cracklins, arugula, and a nice herby vinaigrette. It's a nice, well-balanced sandwich. If I get that and a side of fries, then this is typically a four-star experience for me. My problem for my last visit here was that I went with other things - their burger, their chili-cheese fries, and their roasted brussel sprouts and my experience with those items was solidly three stars or slightly less. My wife got the porchetta and fries with a side of garlic mayo. The porchetta was as good as it always is. The fries were not crispy, which was disappointing. I had chili-cheese fries with my order, but the chili was mostly ground beef and less "chili". The cheese sauce was reminiscent of what you'd get on nachos and it was settled more along the bottom. Because the chili and cheese were essentially broken, this $13 dish was not satisfying. As for the Kroft burger, I feel like I'm realizing that I don't prefer smashburgers to regular burgers unless they're outstanding. I ordered their double wagyu smash burger and the smashed patties were very thin and crispy. There is not much to the burger other than meat and bread. I felt like I missed the balance you get from the condiments and veggies of a regular burger. Like I said, this is normally a four-star spot for me at the Hangar if I stick to a porchetta and fries. I'd suggest for you to go with that combo; however, my most recent food experience was three star. Will probably come back for the porchetta in a future visit and update my rating. read more

Go-to spot for lunch with friends/coworkers. Compared to the choices within LBX, they offer a fun selection of sandwiches that will satisify any picky eater. This coupled with a great happy hour special makes it a instant answer for whenever some one asks "where should we eat". The staff was accommodating and held strong while I figured out what I wanted. I highly recommend the porchetta but it could use some pickles or some addition to compliment the fat of the pork. You should be able to take your food and drinks outside of "The Hangar" and take it outside to enjoy the view and sun. read more

I find myself keep returning to the Kroft in the LBX Hangar. This visit I saw their special, Birria Dip Sandwich and was intrigued. It's always a bonus when you try something new and it's delicious. The sandwich was hot, crispy cheese, onion and cilantro, and a good portion of birria. The consume broth was thick and rich, and quite flavorful. I've had birria tacos elsewhere, and this wasn't far off from the best I've enjoyed. I appreciate the creativity of the Kroft with this sandwich interpretation. I paired with my fave, cheeseburger egg rolls. As always, the servers are helpful, courteous, and always working hard as the place stays busy. I can't wait to visit again read more

JELLYFISH JELLY. I've been to the Kroft at the packing house in Anaheim and usually get their poutine fries. With that said, I wasn't interested in having the Kroft on my visit to the hangar @ LBX. But when I saw the television screen photos of a bacon peanut butter and jelly smash burger I was enticed. I had to try it! For the price, I could take a chance on it. Plus I had years of brainwashing while watching SpongeBob. I always wondered how jelly would taste in a burger. Sooooo??!? Yeah it was pretty good. The bacon peanut butter makes the burger creamy and washes away the flavor of the fried onions. You need the jelly otherwise. I don't have much to say, and even after the experience I am unsure since I have never tried their base smash burgers. What I can say is that I enjoyed it and can say I tried it. Never a bad experience here, the burgers are ridiculously flavorful and I love the consistency. My goddaughter makes me take her here at least once a month and we gobble the spicy jack up! I just came to drop off 4-stars after learning The Kroft in Chinatown closed. I am beyond disappointed. I never go to Anaheim or Long Beach. If I want food from The Kroft delivered, I will have to pay a good $20 plus other fees via UberEats. I don't order a lot from them, so I likely won't get to eat any of their food again unless they open a closer location. In town for work, and The Hangar was recommended for lunch. That lead me and my work colleagues to The Kroft. EXCELLENT smashburger! I don't know if I can describe how good it was - perfectly cooked, cheese melted just right, it just hits right. I also tried the chili Mac and cheese for my side. Really good! Food was prepped quick, even during a busy lunch hour. Parking at the Hangar can be tricky, so allow a little time to find parking. And it can be a challenge to find a table if you have a larger group - this location is popular. We liked this so well, we came back the next day and had it again. We went to the Hangar to look around and we past by this place called the kroft, they serve poutines and sandwiches, we waned to get a quick snack to share and decided to get the loco moco loaded fries, it consisted of a fried egg, cut up onion rings, two beef patties, gravy and cheese curd. The overall quality of the food was really good, not too salty the gravy was spot on the they had really great cheese pull on the fries, the patty was a bit thin but did taste great. The service there was pretty good, the worker was nice attentive and made sure we knew what we wanted. They did take quite a while for our food to be made despite them not being really busy. The ambiance was overall clean but is busy due to it being in a food court with other restaurants. Overall, inside the restaurant itself was clean. They do have two other locations, one in Anaheim and one in West LA. I would come back here again if i was in the area and craving a poutine. read more

This location of the Croft is at the LBX. If you haven't been there already, it's basically a large food court with lots of seating. The atmosphere is nice for a food court, but let's get into the food. I got a kroft chicken sandwich that was supposedly spicy because it had jalapeños in the slaw ( I had the option to make it more spicy for an extra dollar or two). I thought the sandwich came with fries, it did not. Fries were around $4.60 and they were not worth it. The fries were soggy and dry, it felt like they had been sitting around for a few hours. The sandwich was delicious, but not spicy at all. I definitely felt like I was being nickeled and dimed because they did not have basic ketchup or any sauces to offer with my fries, and they wanted me to pay extra for my "spicy sandwich", which should have been spicy in the first place. For a small cup of sauce, it was $.35. Which is fine for speciality sauces, but I just wanted ketchup. they didn't even have basic ketchup to offer, like any other restaurant/burger place. So I'm taking away two stars because this place is known for poutine, which is basically fries and gravy and their fries sucked. And because I felt that I was being nickeled and dimed, even though the cost of the items on their menu was already expensive compared to other burger spots in the same food court. read more

The Kroft is one of the only places that sell a porchetta sandwich. It's disappointing that they aren't able to execute it well. Looked forward to having this sandwich for lunch today but was basically inedible. I took a few bites and was bombarded by an incredibly bitter and putrid taste in my mouth. At first I thought it was somehow just the arugula being bitter. Upon opening the sandwich, there lie the problem. Majority of the porchetta was overcooked and blackened. I did however eat it when I got home so it wasn't too hot which skews my experience but I can definitely take the quality coming from the meat for a smash burger. After looking around at all our options at the hanger we decided to eat here at The Kroft. There is a nice eating area outside and the weather was perfect! The hanger was a very busy place. It is a fast food restaurant. You walk up and place your order. The menu is simple but has a variety to choose from. The customer service was good. We opted for: the Beef Melt $12.95; Chili Mac N Cheese $5.45; and Wagyu Smash Burger Combo with Fries $17??? Not sure of the price. Everything was really delicious and served very quick! Spotted a special BOGO on National Poutine Day on their Social Medias. When we arrived and showed them the post, the cashier had no idea about the special. Mind you, it was around 4pm so it's been a whole day & apparently nobody redeemed this special. Anyway, after she had to call her manager on the phone to confirm special, she gave it to us. I feel like their workers should've been informed about the special as it creates an unnecessarily awkward moment for them & for us. I don't blame the workers at all. Overall, though, they were friendly and helpful. Their food is good & pretty much what one would expect of poutine--crispy french fries with various toppings. I had the Japanese Katsu Curry and it was delicious. The sauce was savory sweet, crispy pieces of chicken, and breaded and regular cheese curds. All worked together as it should. The Chicken Parm poutine is also a good one to try. I feel like any of the flavors would've been a good choice. And portions are large too & you're definitely full afterwards.
