Honestly, my expectations were too high. My bar was set to high after several friends told me great healthy options were available here and they were right. But let me explain. I liked my Mediterranean bowl very much. I'll probably get that again the next visit. BUT the kids pizza was a disaster. I also paid $7.95 for a very lukewarm soup. We added a pastrami sandwich and it was so so. So basically my Mediterranean bowl was a hit and everything else was mediocre at best. I think if my expectations weren't set as high, it would have been ok. And considering that Mendocino Farms is coming to LBX soon, UC needs to up their food game. Because business is gonna be taken away with serving mediocrity. Can only recommend the Mediterranean Bowl. Rating is C+ PS: do not ask me to email you separately about my experience. This is a healthy option if you are in search of one. I ordered the salmon bowl which included edamame, kale, sweet potato, rice and a sweet chili sauce. I had it delivered and it came pretty quick. The food was not hot but warm although it was still good. I think that I would return to try other dishes and is worth trying if you are undecided. read more

I work in food service, 2 restaurants. I came in here for dinner after an exhausting 2 days of back-to-back shifts. I had what felt like a rocky initial interaction with one of the cashiers. Not sure if it was me, I was pretty tired, but the initial greet just felt off. Begrudgingly I tipped 10%. I was not in the mood to be generous with poor customer service (I'm human, I was tired from the grind too). However, there was a gentleman that asked if I was ready, insisted to take my food to my table when I had approached to pick it up, and asked how the food was. This really made all the difference. So much so I asked for his name, and after eating I went to get change from my car (which ironically I had just gotten from the bank as change, for my food service jobs) so I could tip him. So excited to have this so close to home! I went o their grand opening and they had so many goodies and giveaways. Amazing service from every employee my son and I encountered. They were so welcoming and made us feel at home. Large outdoor eating area and a few tables inside. The service was excellent. Julia and Jon were very attentive. Julia explained that tofu can be substituted for any protein on the menu so therefore you have a lot of options. As a vegetarian I'm really happy I found this place. Jon was super friendly and even brought me some mini cookies! Great sandwiches for a reasonable price! The focaccia is fresh, soft and well salted. I got the Californian which had a flavorful herb aioli, avocado, lettuce, artichokes, sun dried tomato and mozzarella. It was a tasty combination and ingredients were fairly plentiful! Tried out Urbane Cafe for the first time. Their website is great and online ordering is easy. I don't really know what I was expecting going into it, but it gives Panera vibes. The focaccia is a dense focaccia, not a light and airy one. The chicken is similar to what you would find in a grocery store packed salad. This location just opened. Visited at 11am no lines as of yet. Started to get packed for lunch around 12pm. Never heard of this place before until I saw this at the Hangar in Lakewood. Decided to google them where I read some good reviews. Therefore, had to check them out! I had ordered the Chimichurri steak sandwich with their house salad on the side. It was absolutely amazing combo! Very fresh healthy meal! Perfect portion for the price. Their house salad was different compared to others ones I had elsewhere. It consisted of feta cheese, mandarins, topped with a balanced balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Super refreshing after devouring my sandwich. Everything else on the menu looked really good. I will definitely be revisiting this establishment more often. Staff were friendly, but only downfall of this place is a little small. It can get really packed. So, I went back!!!! After my bank run, I had to stop and have my food. The service was even better the second time around. I got the salmon bowl again. This time it was so filling, that I couldn't finish it. They use filling foods which is really smart. I don't have great service in there so they gave me the wifi code and it's a really cute password I took some great pictures of the place. I am so excited to have found urbane cafe because they offer gluten free bread and it's accommodating for my dietary restrictions. The bread is so delicious and better than gluten free breads I have purchased in the past. Urbane cafe has it down. Quality food and delicious. We unfortunately stayed past closing since we did not know they had already closed and the team did not make us feel rushed which I appreciate it. I didn't know it came with a small salad but once I started eating, I definitely didn't complain about anything. The steak was so tender and it had the perfect amount of arugula.
