I love this restaurant I've been coming here since I was going to high school back in the day. But today I just picked up my order and well I was disappointed again. I'm not sure if they had a change management but the food I have been receiving all has gone downhill. All the food seemed luke warm and there wasn't that much flavor. What a great spot! Our favorite for a family meal together. We had a mix up with some vegetarian dishes that had to be remade a few times, but they handled it like pros. When we got the right dishes it was so tasty! The manager was very kind and took great care of us. We will continue visiting this Napa gem. Check out their outdoor seating too! Stopped by this hole in the wall Mexican restaurant for some Mexican food. Their menu is fairly small. They have things like chimichangas. Enchiladas, tamales, sopas, etc. It's kind of hidden in the plaza in the wayyyy back corner...kind of closer to trader joe's, but around the corner, kinda facing Walgreens. The place is decked out in some jesus portraits and virgin marys. Lol. Very colorful decor! You order at the register and get a number while seated. My friend got the shrimp cocktail, which is like a tomato based sauce/salsa with shrimp, avocados, and saltines. It was huugeee! Comes in what looks to be a fishbowl margarita glass. Lol. I got the 2 fish taco plate. It was reallyyy light in flavor. Tacos are pretty huge and come wrapped in foil, which kind of bothered me for some reason? Made it difficult to get to the beans and rice on the place, seemed a little crowded...idk. I had to pretty much eat the tacos with a fork and knife, like a taco salad. It was good! Has like lettuce, tomato, white fish, and some sort of white sauce. It was kind of bland, along with the beans. I had to add lots if tapatio to add some flavor. Rice was really delish tho...had good flavor. Mmm...service was good and everything. I think 4 stars because it felt a little overpriced for what it was...idk. There are a number of great Mexican restaurants in Napa, unfortunately this isn't one. I think the overall average of 3.5 stars is warranted. Based on the food alone, to me, it sits at a 2. I ordered a wet chicken burrito and it was an unpleasant surprise to find the contents and the meat consistency to be a mushy gooey stir fry- similar to Chinese stir fry dish with gravy. Again, in my opinion, average at best. It's reflected in the number of visitors- never crowded despite being located in a busy shopping center. read more

It used to be good. Pre-pandemic. I had it about twice this past month for convenience sake. One time, they said my online order didn't go through so when I went to pick it up with two young 'uns I had to wait. That's fine, it happens, but the lady couldn't care less and made the whole process unenjoyable. Today I picked up and pick up went fine. This restaurant will not give you chips and salsa with your meal complimentary, you need to purchase chips and salsa both separately. They offer a few different beers, and indoor and outdoor seating. Super friendly staff. Chicken Super Burrito was BLAND. Chicken, refried beans (and a few whole pintos?) and rice, wrapped in a flour tortilla with sauce. That's it! A 3 ingredient Super Burrito! No sour cream, no guacamole, no onion, no tomato. The sauce was good, as were the house made chips I purchased. Salsa? Meh. Cute place, great staff, lousy food.l They serve breakfast here, too. Maybe that's why there were chunks of potato in my burrito? Kinda scary. I picked up my order at 8pm. The food here is so fresh, they make all their own food! I ordered the steak burrito and it was fabulous and big! They even do a great job on special orders. I get my burrito with no rice or beans. The chips and guacamole are amazing and so are the tortillas. I tried to order to go and couldn't get through, these guys are always busy. I had to order when I got there. I've also eaten breakfast here and there refried beans are scrumptious. So worth the wait to bring dinner home to the hubby. Great start to a good week! read more

Wish I could say good things about this place but sadly, I can't. DO NOT GO DURING PEAK/BUSY TIMES. Service is awful, the waitress was so horrible to my mom and sister that it made want to leave the restaurant before even ordering. Her only consolation to her terrible service was that it was "busy" like okay? Food was not great either. My husband and I got our food before the rest of my family and our dishes were cold everywhere but the very center of the plate. Never going back again. read more

I ordered a carne asada super burrito based on their online menu, got the food to go and when I got home came to find out there was no rice in my burrito. I. Allred to complain and they told me that their "in store" says no rice, I also told them that I paid extra for a super burrito so I could get lettuce and sour cream, there was literally one piece of lettuce and one small tab of sour cream at one end of the burrito. I told them how disappointed I was and they just said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do for me. This food is absolutely delicious! It's got a nice vibe with red color and bright tangerine colors throughout. Genuine, Mexican, food with great flavor and authentic flavor. I've had Camarones a'la Diabla and Chile Verde. Be warned! You need to like spicy stuff! The chips and salsa are some of the best I've had (again, salsa is spicy so you mild spice eaters be mindful of that). The rice and beans are on point! After a long morning of outlet shopping at the Napa Premium Outlets, the sister recommended some Mexican food to fill our starving tummys. Villa Corona is practically 5 minutes, or one exit off of Highway 29, from the outlet area. Sweet deal! When we pulled into the Trader Joes/Whole Foods/ Target shopping center, we scan the area to see where the restaurant is located. It's kind of tucked away in a corner but the brightly colored umbrellas and store facade made it easier to spot. We roll up on a Monday around 12:45pm and this place is packed. This place easily sits 60 people indoors and probably another 10 outside. My moms scours the seating area for any pair of open seats while I stand in line to place my order. The menu selection is admirable but the prices seem a little high. The sister recommended fish tacos and I figured I would order that for moms so I can order my staple carnitas burrito. The fish tacos, super carnitas burrito, and a diet pepsi came out to $22 and change. I personally thought that was a little pricier than normal, but hey we're on vaca and I was starving! They give me a plastic number placard and I scan the room for the Chinese lady cleaning off the table with her own kleenex tissues and bottled water. You gotta love my mom! So I place the number placard down at our table and head to the water/condiment area. They have plenty of nice sturdy plastic cups for water and plenty of napkins for us messy people. I'm usually a knife and fork person but I still seem to use a lot of napkins.... Sorry trees! So our food comes and it's looking GOOOOOOOD. My super carnitas burrito comes smothered in red sauce. The kicker was that under the red sauce was a layer of nacho cheese. Wow. I've never seen that before. It really made a difference. The fish tacos came with a side of black beans and rice. What irks me was the fact that the chips and salsa aren't complimentary with the meal. It would of been a great starter, but my moms wouldn't eat much and most of it would of been wasted. Oh well, I guess you can't win them all! So my moms digs into the fish tacos while I stare contently at my burrito. I cut the huge burrito so I can go halfsies with the moms. Overall, I thought the burrito was A-OK, hence the three stars. The carnitas seemed more like stewed pork rather than fried. Maybe its just me and what I am used to? The other innards were pretty tasty. The cheese and red sauce ring was a great compliment to the burrito. Definitely a plus for that. The moms and I swap dishes and I dig into the fish tacos. Well, taco since there were only two. The fish is not deep fried so it kept its true flavor. The taco comes with the traditional soft corn tortilla instead of the hard crunchy ones. The black beans and rice are ordinary. I had to steal some of the red sauce from the burrito plate to add some flavor. Overall, I would say the food is good, but not 'OMG, BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER!'. Would I eat here again? Sure. Would I order the same thing? Probably try another super burrito and skip on the fish tacos. The nacho's looked pretty good from what I saw. But hey, thats only my opinion. The place is packed so they must be doing something right... Sorry, no pictures to add. The staff is wonderful. This place is honestly, however, a hit or miss depending on what you order on the menu. Tacos are good, chimichangas as well. But anything else with a sauce seems...a bit off. Every time I've gone here, everything is good, but if I order a burrito, the sauce just kills it. Tasted fine, but I asked for extra cheese, which at Villa Corona means an extra helping of cheese "sauce!" I mean seriously, cheese sauce at a Mexican restaurant? I could only think of those awful "nachos" that people order at the movie theater, with gluttonous yellow goop being pumped out of a stainless steel cube, onto stale, salty chips. I've been coming here since I was a little kid, and the place was a hole-in-the-wall. Definitely a locals favorite. Their expansions have added some nice atmosphere, but the food is still great. That being said, you have to know what to order and how to order it. I made the mistake once of diverging into their beef enchilada territory (they use ground beef, not shredded)--it was not the best meal. The burritos are where this place shines. I like to order a *super (add lettuce, sour cream, cheese, cheese and red sauce on top) *mini (a smaller portion) *shredded pork burrito - but I qualify that I want melted cheese on top (instead of nacho cheese), and I sometimes ask for guac instead of sour cream. My husband likes their flautas, my dad likes their pollo asado burritos (with the verde sauce). Great little place, and we come here often! The service is always quick, and on the mark. read more

I will try and keep this short. Everytime you go to a Mexican restaurant of some sorts, the menu usually reads the same: Super burrito, includes: meat, rice, beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, and your choice of red or green sauce. The price is usually about 10 bucks these days for a Super Burrito. My experience with this particular restaurant I got my burrito to go I didn't order a wet burrito and I received a gigantic burrito and a cardboard container soaked with green sauce. Inside the tortilla was only meat and rice. There might have been one or two pieces of cilantro and cabbage but I'm not sure if that accidentally fell in there or not. I requested a Super Burrito to go carnitas with everything in it. I did not ask for a wet burrito and I did not ask them to hold any of the extras. I think they possibly mixed my order up with somebody else. To top it all off my bill was almost $18. So basically my burrito and my drink cost me almost twenty bucks. There was hardly any spicy flavor to the burrito and I was lucky I had a plastic fork in my lunch box for backup or else I would have been stopping at multiple places looking for a spork. Price is reasonable about $8-$12 a person, combination plates are also available. The atmosphere has tables and seating for families or couples. There are a variety of cultural art pieces on display for your viewing pleasure as well as drinks, beers, and fresh horchata or tea. Pros: Reasonably priced, good variety, nice atmosphere, quick service, churros for $1. Villa Corona is a hidden gem in Napa. The burritos and the fish tacos are marvelous! Delicious and filling. Some time I'll have to do the authentically Napan practice of patronizing a taco truck as well. Villa Corona is a popular Napa restaurant... and for good reasons. The artwork is a fun melange of sacred art, the Simpsons, Salvador Dali, and old Mexican movie posters. The service is great!
