The place is much bigger once you walk in and has outdoor seating, something I'm not used to in CA but I love it! Great customer service, everyone was friendly and prompt service. Also, I loved that when I ordered hot tea, they gave me a little carafe of half and half, which I appreciate it. This is truly one of those hidden gems in the valley. It's so inconspicuous on the outside but a nice place for brunch on the inside. What I like most is their garden patio in the back. There are plants everywhere because the restaurant is a house converted into a restaurant. So the backyard is full of the owners former plants. Don't miss the largest avocado tree! Well it is so big you won't miss it! Just look up. I have never needed a reservation here but they do close early after breakfast time. There is patio seating on the perimeter for your little doggies. The busser even gave ours a little bowl of water! The servers are attentive and friendly. The coffee keeps flowing over here. The food is consistently good. It's got american classic style of food. They have food from the griddle, eggs, and my favorite are their home fries. Chopped up potatoes with onions and peppers. You will see the prices are reasonable for the amount of food. The ambiance is relaxing since you can eat in a garden tucked away just off the boulevard. Much of the seating is shaded too which is nice for hot valley days. The worst part of this location is looking for parking. You could try street parking or parking across in the big Ralph's lot. First things first, where it is located will surprise you. It's nestled in Studio City. If you didn't see the amount of people waiting to be seated, you'd probably miss it. Truly a hidden gem! You'll walk in and find that there are only a couple tables but when you are waiting outside, you'll see that there's plenty of outdoor seating. It's gorgeous! The vibe and ambiance is excellent. If you are just looking for a place to chill with a coffee or Mimosa, this is the place. Secondly, the ambiance and the staff is our favorite! They make your experience primo! Everyone, from the time we walked in, until the time we left, was awesome. The gentleman that I spoke to, I wish I knew his name. He greeted me and memorized our addition to their wait list. The history of the restaurant is rad, too. Nicole told us all about the history of the cafe. It was a house that was converted into a cafe. I got the Brandon Omelette and the mister got the Italian Omelette and a couple flapjacks. The quality of the ingredients of their food is outstanding. Mixed review. Hated that when we walked into the patio there was no acknowledgment no salutation, waitresses walking by but looking down to not engage ....nothing. After 10 minutes of waiting walking into the indoor part and getting acknowledged we get sat right at the entrance table. So you can imagine how uncomfortable it was to eat and have a conversation with my significant other while people are hovering watching our food and listening to the our conversation while standing around and confused about who's gonna seat them . They should maybe have a sign that reads "please wait for host to seat you" somewhere by the ATM machine so you can give patrons some privacy and some direction. Let me tell you that the food was delicious! I got the salmon lox and the salmon was juicy and soft. It was so yummy. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs (medium rare) and it was really good too. I decided to visit since they have a gluten-free option for the famous pancakes, but found out it contains dairy & eggs. Basically, everything on the menu contains some form of those ingredients, and or artificial additives (e.g hot chocolate). I'll feel bad eating food that my child wants to but can't eat, so I ended up ordering only the limited items that are allergy-friendly. Too-bad. Had really wanted to try the banana pancakes. 4 Star. Overall. It's worth a visit if around town, I'm sure everything else on the menu would taste great. I would return if I'm not with someone that has food restrictions. Vivian's was recommended to us by the manager of our nearby hotel, and while I can definitely see the charm, breakfast was simply OK! The service was fine, the coffee was fine, but our food was just OK. Hubby got the lox and bagel, and it was good, but it was standard - nothing amazing? Kiddo had the kids breakfast with eggs and a Mickey Mouse pancake, and the scrambled egg was overcooked and pancake was OK. I had the chicken sausage omelette with hash browns, but it came with home fries. The home fries were barely cooked through, not cat all crispy, overall lackluster. I recommend the Brandon special omelette. it is filled with vegetables, ham, Italian, sausage, and avocado. The top is covered with melted cheese, and cooked to perfection. download also comes with a side of hashbrowns. which I cook those just the way I like them. The hashbrowns are cooked with a nice crisp on the outside. the kids pancakes are made very fluffy, and in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head. My son had the hamburger which is cooked well in too big for him to finish. I would say the only con on the steak and taters was that the steak was a little dry. The steak is also thin so that's another reason why probably was cooked a little bit too long. I do plan to come back here again, and I will follow up with you on the next thing I order. read more

This afternoon, I visited Vivian's Millennium Cafe for this first time. My friend Greg enjoyed a tasty patty melt while I feasted on the delicious seven grain oatmeal pancakes. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant, friendly and non-obstrusive. Besides the great food and excellent service, the highlight of our visit was chatting with co-owner George Marshall. Mr. Marshall is an engaging conversationalist. I'm the easiest person to please when it comes to restaurants. And this is the very first negative review of a restaurant I've ever made. But, alas, I had 2 particularly unfortunate breakfast experiences at this place. Went back there about a month ago to give it another shot. Ordered huevos rancheros. The food I received, however, could best be described as huevos rancheros SOUP - basically 2 eggs and a dollop of refried beans literally swimming in salsa juice. I had thought my first visit there nine months ago was just a fluke, but apparently it wasn't. Definitely not wasting my time at this place again. Diners have always been a fav of mine and they are slowly fading out of this modern world. Vivian's is a delight bc it has that diner feel, add bucolic and flowers everywhere and air. A lovely ambiance that contributes to the dining experience wonderfully. It's Corona-times but we ventured over regardless for banana pancakes and vege burgers w/iced tea. My guy seemed peeved they didn't have fresh-squeezed orange juice but all was excellent on my behalf. Everyone is seated at a far distance and the service was amiable and welcoming. Searched for a good breakfast place close to Universal Studios and Vivian's Millennial Cafe was perfect for what we were looking for. Like many of the reviews indicated it sure is a HIDDEN GEM. We arrived 15 minutes early on a cold 50+ degree drizzly morning. Cold compared to Hawaii where we come from. The co-owner Angelo noticed us standing outside and quickly welcomed us in to the cozy warm dining area in the back. He said, "I'm not gonna make you stand out in the cold even though we're not open yet". He was was super nice and chatted with us for a bit sharing the history of the Cafe. We ordered a simple breakfast but it was perfect. Just how we liked it. The server Bianca was very attentive. Our meals were served hot. Our entire experience was positive and we would definitely go there again when we visit the area. Mahalo nui loa The only problem I would add was the lack of parking.
