Haven't been here in about 2 years. We came in with a reservation and was seated right away by the hostess. The carts started coming by as soon as we sat down. Nice to see the carts again as during Covid there were no carts . Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted so good. We ordered more than I thought we would because it is so hard to resist the appetizing food passing by.. the service was amazing too. My husband's soda glass was never empty. We went there right at 11:30 and it was perfect with no wait. I had been to the one on Stevenson street years ago so this was a new experience for me. They had a great variety of the classic steam dishes; all kinds of jiao and bao. The daikon cake and tofu wrap were excellent, but I wished they had some banana leaf chicken rice and congee. Deserving of their Michelin Star, this is the perfect choice for a great Dim Sum dining experience. The restaurant is located inside a beautiful office building. Its clean and bright but not much ambience. No music was playing while we were there. From THE SECOND you sit down, you are approached with servers rolling carts offering dishes. They were a tad overwhelming at first as we had barely sat and they were asking what we wanted. I suggest you first take time to review the menu, order a drink and then start your selections. The food was good but I've had better dimsum for less. I didn't like the scallions in the rice roll and wish it was shrimp only. The favorites were the xiao long bao and siu mye. The string beans were flavorful and crunchy, which was a nice contrast of texture from the rest of the dishes. The sczechuan chicken was fragrant with good flavorful, but too salty. My parents always told me Yank Sing is a tourist trap. But I didn't care, as a bay area born and bred even I have to try a tourist trap at least once. The food actly isn't bad at all but it definitely isn't the best bang for your buck for dim sum. But the usual items tasted as expected, it wasn't disappointing (i.e siu mai, har gow). The siu mai tastes better than it looks. I didn't try it but I was told the chicken feet isn't good. The Cheung fun actly was disappointing and it costs $15/dish which got us shook. The other stuff is expensive as well ($6-$9) but as expected for a tourist trap. But Cheung fun for $15 was rly outta pocket. The kick was egg tart, costs $15. That's absolutely crazy. I'll give them this, their spare ribs r pretty good. They also have crab claws (my fav), the only other place I know that carries crab claws is koi palace in Daly city. But their sweet and sour sauce is rly watery for some reason. Yank Sing also doesn't have as many selections or traditional dishes than other dim sum restaurants. Also the tea, not even the basic flavors are free. But it's a nice sizeable cup that they'll refill. The service though sincere was lacking. All the carts were very confused and if you're not sitting near the front area, they're likely to miss you. The servers were constantly walkie talkie-ing each other that so&so sat forever and a cart needs to go by. The location is very covid friendly and lovely with the Xmas decor tho. read more

I tried Spear to go a couple times in 2021 and while the food was still fantastic the to go experience left a lot to be desired. I figured Stevenson would eventually reopen (it never did) or they would eventually model Spear to go after Stevenson. Jump ahead to Sept 2024 and when I got there I had to ask myself if we were still mid pandemic! The plastic shield was still up and the employees were working several feet away inside. It was soooo off putting. Several of us waiting for to go orders commented on how the set up is inefficient. I definitely won't be back. Such a shame because I really do like their food.
