The Yard House is a casual dining spot with a huge selection of draft beers, over 250 on tap. The food is American Fusion which includes a nice selection of appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, pizzas, seafood, steaks, ribs and chops and my favorite the Spicy Tuna Roll which is not your typical roll, more like a casserole. On a nice sunny day I prefer the outside dining along the waterfront boardwalk. Where you can enjoy the nice view of the harbor and people watch. read more

I love going to the yard house and I usually go to the one at Staple Center but didn't really have a good experience at the Long Beach location. We got there and there were about 5 people standing around by the host stand and non of them bothered to greet us (party of 6). So I walked up and said hello and as them to sit us. 10 minutes went by and all 5 servers/wait staff were still standing around by the host stand chatting up while there were about 5-6 tables within eyeshot that were dirty that they could have cleared in a minute and sat us but that would be the right thing to do so... Anyway, I walked up again and ask how long before we get a table, Chrissy, pregnant host rolled her eyes and said few more minutes. 15 minutes or so later she took us to the back of the restaurant behind the bar where it was really dark so I politely asked if we could sit by the window and pointed at a table that was open and clean. She didn't acknowledge me, just rolled her eyes and started chatting to another server that was passing by about a manger. At this point I was ready to walk out but being that I was with guest ignored her and grabbed the menus she had placed on the table and walked to the empty table by the window with my guests. Chrissy set up the server that would take care of us to fail but Rose was really nice, attentive and on point with refills and bringing condiments and anything we needed. She turned around the whole situation and provided us with great service. I give Rose 5 stars but I suggest firing Chrissy. I get that she is pregnant and there is nothing wrong with her wanting to be home with her feet up but no need to roll your eyes at a customer. I have no place for ghetto bullshit! I probably will never go back there again because I doubt the staff would acknowledge my presence when I walk thru their doors & I can spend my $$$ elsewhere where I can be greeted with a smile! read more

Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Waiter was BEYOND rude! Had to ask a manager to get me a new waiter. Every time the previous waiter walked by our table, he shot us dirty looks. Manager tried to remedy the situation by giving us some freebies but even those had issues along with the cold good and 45min wait to get our food after we ordered. I like this place and I love the view of the water from the place. Everything I've had has been quite tasty and i have no complaints. The parking is a little whack, but if you come early enough you'll be able to find something. I don't even drink so if I did, I'm sure I would like this place even more. I've seen a lot of the people order the yard of beer and it's hilarious when they get to the bottom of the huge glass it's in, the beer almost always comes rushing down too fast and it's all over the person's face and shirt. Came here for my birthday on a Saturday night. Good food, very nice waiter however one of the hostess (Leah) was very rude to me and my friends. When we tried to see how much longer we'd have to wait she gave us her stupid attitude and kept telling it would be another hour or two hours. (Given we had already waited over an hour & 15 minutes) When I could clearly see that we were next. It wasn't until the other hostess over heard and told us that our table is being set up right now. (Thank you, savannah!) then Leah tried to act like she knew what was going on! I get it, it was raining and it was crazy crowded, but come on leave your horrible attitude and whatever else your dealing with at home! When you come to work (especially knowing your going to be dealing be with PEOPLE) at least be professional. I was not about to let that girl ruin my birthday. Just because your having a bad day, don't take everyone down with you. Before we left, we asked the waiter to see the manager, we explained what happened and she was very very nice about it and talked to Leah. In the end, the manager gave us a 25% discount off of our bill for getting rude service up front. Overall, friendly staff (minus the hostess) and my friends and I will definitely come here again for the food. They made my birthday night special. read more

Went to the Yard house for one of my good friend's birthday and had never been before but saw good reviews. I went there and we were eating really good food with delicious margaritas and we saw 4 cockroaches. That's not even the shocking part. The waiter we called over acted like a complete jerk and said "I'm not sure what you want me to do about it?" Ummmmm that's not what I want to hear. Very disgusting. Waiters and hostesses were rude. Except for Jorge he was so nice and sympathetic and really took care of Us. If it weren't for him I think the whole night would have been a bust. We also gave our number to the manager who promised to call us back and he never called, no response from him. Horrible service from everyone(excluding Jorge, he should be promoted or get a raise) Never going back!! And definitely do not recommend it. read more

i love their food and beer, but they piss me off too much with their sloppy service. im not really a person who cares about service at a restaurant. i have been a waitress, and trust me i was sloppy enough to be pretty sympathetic when a server forgets something or takes too long to take your order. the yardhouse, however, is out of control. my boyfriend and i order to go here every couple months because the pear and walnut salad (no nuts please) and the spicy tuna roll are both so good it makes me mad. we used to get their mac n cheese squared but its been lackluster recently. however, i cant get him to actually eat at the restaurant or even go in to pick up the food because they even take a long time to ring up a pick up order. too bad, because it would definitely be good place to hang out and drink on a nice day. read more

Yard House is one of my FAVORITES for happy hour. Service is usually pretty good, sometimes just alright, but I get it. Tonight, our server Ryan never even introduced himself. We ordered our food and drinks from the server helping him.. which we never saw again. We never received our water. Never offered refills. I asked if we could order more beers and he then notified it was last call... he could've offered us more beer when our cups were empty 20 mins ago lol. honestly disappointed. My friend and I work very near to here and met up for happy hour one Friday. I have been to several Yard House locations (Newport Beach, Marina del Rey, DTLA, and Long Beach) and I like the outdoor seating at the Long Beach location best, as it sits facing the Marina and Shoreline Village, and is pretty spacious. I am new in my appreciation of beer, and I like sampling various things and finding my preferred taste, and the Yard House has so many on tap, it's perfect. I had the Lindemanns Framboise this go round and it was amazing. I think it's my favorite out of the ones I have tried thus far. Beers are $2 off during happy hour, so even better. On to the grub. I ordered a vampire taco (a strange looking but unique & delicious taco wrapped in an outer shell of cheese) and fried calamari which was also good. No complaints, would definitely return for happy hour and that Framboise! read more

And there is not one but TWO happy hours to partake in- Regular: M-Th, 3-6pm and Late Night: M-Th,10-Midnight They offer nearly 200 kinds of beer to choose from at only $3.50 a pint and cheap martinis and well drinks too so you never get tired of the same old options. My goal is to try each beer on the menu, the only problem is I don't remember how the 3rd or 4th beer tasted. There is also a huge list of half-price appetizers to choose from that taste great and come in filling portions. Some favorites are the seared ahi, thai chicken pizza, and chicken nachos. Sit on the patio to enjoy the great ambiance. Plenty of heat lamps to keep you warm during the night. read more

Terrible customer service!!!! We made an 11:30 am reservation. We arrived at Yard House at 11:05 am as soon as the restaurant opened, so we requested to be seated already. The hostess and the manager refused to seat our group because they said our reservation was for 11:30. It did not make sense because the restaurant was practically empty since it just opened. We were made to wait for a long time despite numerous empty tables. Well, they lost us and we moved to Tequila Jack's, which I highly recommend. Came in a while back ( was a Saturday) with a group of friends. Sat in the bar area with a group of 8. Seemed almost if the servers were pooling cause we had multiple people take our orders throughout the night. Poke nachos were awesome. Service is where it fell apart. The waitress was amazing, great beer recommendations. The waiter however (bald white guy) was a total ass. Made it very apparent he hated his job. Almost yelled "are you going to order anything else or not". Imagine you take your 2-year-old to an early lunch and get seated at the booth closest to the hostess. Imagine, then, that one of the waiters thinks it would be funny to slam his hands on the front desk to scare the hostess -- causing you, your 2-year-old, and the hostess to jump out of your skins. Imagine also that the hostess forgets where she is and screams, "SH1T," at the top of her lungs. Imagine the explanations then required for the 2-year-old. Thus began the sh1tt1est meal I've had in quite awhile. Soup that was cold, followed by 40-minute wait for the tot's meal (only to discover that the cheese of "mac and cheese" fame had congealed) and my own (only to discover that the chicken was dryer than the Sahara Desert). Since the server never came back to offer condiments or any kind of toddler drink refill, I decided to ask the manager for help (largely because he happened to be helping the people at the next table over). A lovely guy, he expressed concern, got us ketchup, and got the tot a drink refill; he also offered to get a new meal for me with better chicken (the problem, in his words, driven by the fact that "well, the chicken is recooked, so perhaps it got overcooked when it was cooked again." Hmm ... The replacement meal, which took another 10 minutes to arrive, was also inedible. So we left -- but not before being charged for the full meal. And the waitress seemed terribly upset that we were upset, so I ended up telling her not to worry -- and giving her a decent tip despite everything. I've been a fan of the Yardhouse for awhile, but they could step up today's game a lot and still suck. I will *never* go back to this restaurant (at least not its Long Beach variant). read more

Although the service was really friendly, it was also really slow. The food is hit and miss for me, and there's always a wait of at least 45 minutes for a table (Even on a Tuesday night? Really? Yes.). Every time I come here I wonder why I return, then it hits me, duh, it's beer heaven! Go to the bar and have a beer or two (or three or four), and the wait doesn't seem so bad, you forget how long it took for your server to come around, and as a matter of fact, the food WILL ALWAYS taste better. read more

There is so much beer here! It's really amusing to watch someone drink a yard of beer, too. It's got a nice, hip atmosphere and its busy every time I've gone there. If you like Beer than this place is a no-brainer. No need to think about it too hard. You will most likely be able to find it here. This is a lively spot, it's usually always busy no matter the day of the week so you may have to wait 10-15 minutes unless your with a very large group. The bar area wraps around in a circle, which is good cause every so often you can get up and do a lap (gottta get that exercise in somehow). On to the grub - had the Miso Chilean Sea Bass and sampled the Jerk Chicken. The Miso glaze on the sea bass was fantastic, it was a nice compliment of tanginess to the fish which was seared to perfection. A nice accompaniment of jasmine rice, edamame and carrots and bok choy, although I'm not a fan of bok choy. My dining companion said it was cooked well. The Jerk also had a nice flavor to it, growing up in NY I've had the opportunity to eat alot of Jamaican food and while this did not immediately bring back reflections on those times, I was none the less pleased with the offering. All in all, this place has a nice selection of varying dishes, a little something for everyone, the menu is ALL over the map. How often do you go somewhere and see pizza, burgers, steak, seafood, pasta, even a couple token Mexican & Asian dishes on the menu? But hey whatever works. She was slow and she didn't care to ask about what we need and I hate the fact that We still had to give her 20 bucks as her tip coz my husband feels bad and he said to give at least 10% tip.
