I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, it was good but I have had better. My daughter loved the chicken Parmesan and she is picky. The scrod was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Veal Parmesan was delicious. The waiter was good and attentive. They had a sewer problem in the bathroom and all but one toilet was working. The other had a terrible odor and that smell lingered in my nostrils. Nasty! read more

Went last night for dinner and sat in the bar area at one of the high top tables. I really enjoyed sitting in this area as opposed to the main dining room, which is a bit stuffy for me. We started with the tuna carpaccio--which was very good, but it could have used more wasabi and pickled ginger on the plate. Next we split the tuscan salad--which wasn't that good. The salad was overdressed, making the lettuce soggy and too vinegary. I feel like they could have used higher quality ingredients and perhaps throw something on it that balances it. Everything about it was way too vinegary. For entrees--the baked stuffed scrod was pretty good, although it could have been warmer, it seemed like it had been sitting under a heat lamp or sitting out for too long and was barely warmer than room temp. The pasta side was flavorless as was the broccoli. We also had the seafood alberto, which was actually really tasty and would definitely get again if we return. read more

My trip to Albertos was amazing. My wife and I came here on recommendation of a friend and we do not regret it. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer and were surprised at how much we got on the plate. the plate was packed and we didn't even finish it. We would have never had room for our dinners. My wife enjoyed the sauce that it came with as well. For entrees, I ordered the Chicken parm and my wife ordered the chicken Alberto. I received a large portion of chicken as well as a good serving of pasta. The sauce wasn't a generic marinara and had a lot of flavor to it. My wife loved her chicken alberto. She's a light eater so after the calamari she didn't have much room to finish the alberto. I tried a bite of it and enjoyed it greatly. Our waiter provided us the service we needed and was able to answer our questions. We'll be coming back next time we come to Cape cod for sure. read more

GLUTEN-FREE Penne offered?! Cool! BUT WITH A PIECE OF REGULAR FARFALLE IN IT?? Not good for those with severe allergies, tsk tsk. Here's how the dialogue went: Me: "Is this gluten free also?" Waiter: "I told you, it's gluten-free pasta." Me: "I mean this part." (I was already pointing at it, now I picked up the piece of non-gf farfalle pasta). The waiter had a surprised, 'that's not good' face and that was the end of the conversation. He later came and asked how everything was. My dinnermate said it was good. Me: "It's okay." Waiter: "Just okay?" Me: "I'm not severely allergic to gluten, but if I were this would be bad," again pointing at the farfalle. My dish wasn't even offered to be changed AND they charged an extra dollar for the gf penne (the only gf pasta offered there, and corn-based at that, double-boo cuz those r both not my faves.) The service is not good: _ Servers & waitstaff didn't wait for the customer to pass but instead expected that they go by first _ The waiter's tone was not pleasant when he said "I told you, it's gluten-free pasta." _ They didn't offer anything for their mistake. _ They're NOT CAREFUL WITH GLUTEN-FREE PREPARATIONS. We visited Cape Cod for the first time this past week and ended up eating dinner here twice because the first experience was so great. We were a party of 15 and probably sampled one of everything on the menu. The food was delicious and fresh. Our server Teodora was AMAZING and made great suggestions on what and how to order. Our second experience wasn't as great as the first, as we came back from an excursion, had no reservations, and they were nice enough to accommodate us just as they were getting ready to close and were short staffed. I almost wish we hadn't gone back that second time because it took away from the excellence of our first dinner. If you make a reservation here, ask for outdoor seating, as the street is lit up and there's musicians which make the experience even better. Make sure you order the espresso at the end with a side of sambuca, it was Excellent! read more

Food: 3 - The antipasto appetizer was different than a traditional style, but it was good. Our main dishes, chicken cacciatore, pomodoro & beef tenderloin were good, but their straight tortellini's' were soggy & bland. No side salads offered either. Service: 3 - Our waitress made us feel welcome, but should have been more attentive; dirty dishes left after main appetizer plates were taken...empty water glasses and had to flag her down to get another bottle of wine. Price: 3 - Prices were high for quality of the food. Cleanliness: 5 - The restaurant smelled clean and fresh. Any Other Tidbits: 2 - no cannoli's at an Italian restaurant is disappointing & they didn't have much for a kid friendly menu. read more

We went to Alberto's for our anniversary. The atmosphere was very nice. White table cloths and formal wait staff. Because it's in downtown Hyannis, you have people dress all different ways: Families in casual summer clothes or couples dressed up. The menu is big and there were lots of dishes I wanted to try. We started with calamari that was a small portion but pretty tasty. We shared a good bottle of wine. I got the haddock franchise that came with asparagus and was served over pasta. There was such a small amount of sauce that I ended up asking for more. However, the sauce really tasted like melted butter. Even though my dish wasn't great, I would love to go again the try something else just because there were interesting choices and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I'd say if you looking for a upscale choice, this is definitely worth trying. read more

Went here on a Saturday night without a reservation in June...party of 8 which included 4 kids under 3 and a request to have 3 high chairs. They were able to accommodate and even put us in a private room-- best really for both parties to keep our noisy kids contained in a room without bothering the other civilized diners. We were fine with it as families with young children, we long for white tablecloth dining experience but realize the difficulties with young babies. The lobster ravioli was delicious. They did not skimp on the lobster. The husband got the stuffed scrod and it too was very good. Seafood pasta was also a positive recommendation from the table. read more

Having seen Alberto's when parking in the lot the night before, I knew that it would be perfect for take out once we managed to get through the traffic from the airport back out to the Cape. My husband called in the take out order around 7:15, and was immediately told that it would be around 8 before it would be ready. We got the Tuscan Salad (Mixed greens, white beans, prosciutto, onions, capers, calamata olives, & fire roasted peppers in balsamic vinegar & extra virgin olive oil fusion... $10.95) and the Chicken & Eggplant Parmigiana ($23.95) with a side of meatballs ($6.95). I got to Alberto's right around 8pm, and walked in the side entrance from the parking lot, where the tour buses seemed to load and unload. I transacted the order at the bar, where they were showing the Red Sox game. It took about 5 minutes for the food to be ready after I'd paid the tab. No utensils were provided, though the meal was hearty enough that plastic utensils would just have been frustrating. I loved the combination of toppings on the Tuscan salad, chowing down on the white bean portion that added some nice salt to balance the surprising sweetness of the roasted peppers. The parmigiana was good, particularly the chicken. The eggplant was sliced so thin that by the time the breading made the take out trip of 5 minutes, it was mostly soggy breading. The tomato sauce was chunky and flavorful, but sat on top of the linguine, rather than coating eat. The meatballs were so dense and flavorful that I could only handle half of one, much to my husband's delight. They also gave us 4 pieces of sliced bread, your average Italian bread. All in all, good take out, probably better in the restaurant. read more

My beef was cooked perfectly and made with some wine sauce that I couldn't pronounce but was an amazing combination. Our party of three visited Alberto's on a quiet Sunday evening. It was clearly one of the only lively spots in Hyannis, that being said half the place was empty in late October. The Italian food is good, but nothing I can particular say I would ever go back for. The garlic bread appetizer was divine, my pasta with marinara was pretty basic - not bad -not super good but what do you expect from basic pasta. I wish the waiter left the freshly grated mozzarella at the table as I would have poured the whole thing on my plate. Speaking of our waiter, he was the most "Meh" about Our experience. He kinda gave me a German Guard in WW2 vibe. So Morose! We were a friendly table but he had this look on his face like he had a tooth pulled every time he approached us. It's been awhile since that's happened. The atmosphere and staff were great. As far as the food goes. The spinach salad was very tasteful with the candy coated walnuts. We tried the mussels and didn't feel they were fresh. The entrées were good most of us had parmigiana. The veal parmigiana was outstanding. The sauce was definitely homemade and very tasteful. Excellent fresh pastas, reasonable wine list and friendly service. I came here in April, 2012 with a group of 6 (the GF, parents, sister, brother in law). We were promptly seated, greeted and ordered wine and drinks. Some menu recommendations were made and a few details cleared up. All in all, the table had salads, calamari, both the clam chowder and seafood bisque - which was to die for, gnochi, lobster ravioli, salads, eggplant parm, a pappardelle primavera and a variety of deserts. I can't say that I ever rate a place based on their bread that they give you for free. This place had a great wine selection. Anyone who likes wine will be happy to come here. I got a house salad with my meal, the house dressing was amazing. I wish I could have it at home. I also got the filet with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. The filet was cooked to perfection. My wife got an italian dish. She said it was very good. I didn't try it because it had mushrooms. We have been dining at Alberto's for as long as they've been open, before the current location. First the ambiance is especially beautiful for a special occaison or holiday. I have never been disappointed nor anyone I've gone with. My absolute favorite is a white bean & sausage pasta dish or the veal parmigiana. Delivery via GrubHub was perfect and right on time! We have always enjoyed Alberto's and thought this would be a great time to support our local restaurants. The food was wonderful, for sure, but we were bitterly disappointed in dessert. Despite my VERY clear instructions, there was a drizzle of chocolate sauce which made it impossible to consume, due to a chocolate ALLERGY! I called the restaurant and spoke to someone who was very apologetic but offered no solution to remedy the situation. Nice Ambience and location but this family did not enjoy our experience at all. The waitresss was a sweetie and was very helpful but she got a earful from the owner/manager when we sent our entries back. Sorry, but the entries were the last straw in a string of disappointments. The Bruschetta was awful. Tomato slice? Can you say lazy! It was also warm. The best Bruschetta has a mixture of warmth (bread) and chill (tomato and cheese). The bread was soggy. I ate two of four ... we left two. The popcorn shrimp were horrible as well. Frozen and then micro-waved without a doubt. Dry and tasteless. Daughter scoffed most of these but we left about a 1/4 of this as well. It was served with a Marinara sauce as well! Run out of cocktail sauce? Kids both had chicken fingers - they barely touched the chicken. It tasted bad, they said. I tried it and agreed. They scoffed the fries and left all the chicken. I had the scallop special which was portrayed as scallops with bacon, cheese and something else. What I got was a casserole dish of bare tasteless scallops in water ... at least it had no flavor and was clear liquid - I'm assuming water. On top was what appeared to be two slices of melted cheese and two strips of crisp bacon (and I mean crisp). I ate one straight and it had no flavor at all. Tried another with "toppings" and it was barely any better. Wife had baked scallops which she took one bite of and said that's enough. Dropped $48 and a $10 tip for the waitress (which I'm sure the owner took) and cut our losses. Owner originally sent the waitress back to say he'll remove one of the scallop dishes but I said no way am I paying for either. Waitress came back and said OK. Owner never tried to even find out why we were so unhappy. read more

I wasn't sure what it was but when I entered I felt that I might have been under dressed! this place was classy! how relieved I was when they sat me down no problems, usually in places this nice you have to dress up so I was glad that they let me in casually! I started with the clams and oysters on the half shell. these morsels of love came fresh and cold with a great cocktail sauce! I had the mussels diavolo for my main entrée and I finished every singe one of them! they all had amazing flavor and each one was nice and steamy hot, the sauce they were cooked in was perfectly seasoned and they all came out of their shells like butter! Now this is a very special place. Sit inside although most clamor for the outside seating, the outside is cramped, too much pedestrian traffic and the Main Street noisy with vehicles. My wife had the seafood medley outrageous I had described Srog Francaise excellent. Desserts were over the top. Service excellent and the owner is on premises taking care of all his customers. Usually we love this place, but we noticed a serious decrease in quality service. One of the waiters seemed to be having a bad day, as he threw some items onto a tray exclaiming "this is bullshit." I love this place. It's beautiful, clean, warm, and friendly. It feels like real Italian. My family and I often sit at the bar top for dinner and the female night time bartender is so kind. Service is fast. It's a lively place when all of the dining rooms are busy in the summer, and has a wonderful and classy atmosphere. The bread they serve before your meal is so fresh and delicious. I always get the chicken piccata, sometimes with out the chicken. It is absolutely amazing and mouth watering! Great wine selection as well. read more
