Went here with 2 friends a couple months ago and we all left disappointed. Mainly because of the super long wait for every step of the process (getting a table, ordering, getting our food, getting our dessert, and even getting the check). I think it took over 2 hours total. The tacos are extremely pricey for their portion size. The best one was probably the baja fish - lightly battered and fish was pleasantly flaky. The duck was questionable and tasted off. Bartaco has been on my list of restaurants to visit for a while now and I finally made it in. Was had a party of 7 but a few people were running behind. They sat us with no issue and advised on their ordering process. They had a QR code on the table which takes you to the website for you to order your food and pay when you're ready to checkout. The food and drinks came out very quickly. The ability to order when we wanted was very helpful especially since we had a large group. I ordered the street corn, plantains, and 2 tacos (falafel and shrimp). All of the food was amazing! I was pleasantly surprised that the plantains were so delicious. I have been before but never was as impressed by the food. I think the menu changed from last I was here years ago. I really liked this location. Although it's on a busier street it is quiet inside and there is a patio out back. Parking on the street is pretty easy or a nearby garage. My friends and I sat at the bar for some snacks and drinks and then brought rice bowls home for dinners. Service was great. The rice bowls were incredible!!! Dined in (outside) on a Wednesday evening - and even then it was incredibly packed already. We seated outside which was on a cute back patio. You order through the website that you can get to via the QR code on your table. I will say this was the least enjoyable part of my experience since it was very buggy and laggy. You have to put in your phone number to validate yourself, but the system took about 5-10 minutes to even send the code for validation. Ordering was fine, though no feedback if your order actually went through or not - you just kind of had to hope that it did. A few tacos never ended up making it to the table by the end and our poor waiter had to pester the kitchen to make them for us. There were also issues with the billing on the site: some receipts got switched around and some individual items got moved to other people's receipts. We all ended up having to get our orders billed manually via our waiter, which seems to defeat the purpose of having this online system. I will say our waiter was incredible and handled everything very well, especially amongst the chaos of the busy restaurant. Every single taco was delicious (I got the Baja Fish, Pork Belly, Mojo Pork Carnitas, Crispy Oyster, Sesame Ribeye, and the #bartacosecret Barbacoa). My favorites are for sure the crispy oyster and the pork belly! I also got a side of plantains which were great - especially the sauce that came with it - which was kind of like a ranch/mayo. Definitely get the plantains to round out your meal if you can't fill up on just tacos alone. Overall - the service was great and the food was even better. Get there early to try to beat the crowd since it's a popular place. Super cute and hip interior! We came on a Friday night, we weren't sure how many of us were going to show up, so we called ahead in advance for 8-12. Only 6 of us actually came, but they were so accommodating and friendly! The food was very tasty as well. The flavors were very unique, I really enjoyed the pork belly and the baja fish tacos! Sometimes it did take a little long for some of the food to come out, but thats the only thing. I also got the berry colada which was super good and refreshing! The gelatos were soo good, we got the chocolate and coconut. The coconut was my favorite it tasted homemade (in the best way) and it had coconut shavings in it. My friends and I came here because it was one of the few restaurants whose kitchen was still open and we were all wanting to eat something and grab some more drinks! Coming here late night was a great choice, everyone was just trying to have a good time and the servers were all super friendly. I had the salsa verde chicken tacos and chorizo taco and we ordered chips and guac for the table. I like that for their chips they use whole tortillas! That's pretty unique. Their guac is also really flavorful and fresh. My favorite part of bartaco is the bar part of it haha, their drinks are excellent! I highly recommend the winter caipirinha, the presentation was beautiful and it was just super tasty! Now that I know their kitchen is open late, I think I will be coming here more often. This was our 2nd visit here. This was actually our last date a week before the world shut down. Last year this place on on and popping. Food was amazing.....this year food was subpar and service was trash. This new scanning thing to order did not work on our table because apparently the people before skipped paying and it was a whole ordeal to clear it so we could order. They had to bring out pens and paper and they only gave us one. We bother wanted some of the same tacos but prepared differently which confused the server. Yay!!! A review that's only within a couple of days of me going somewhere!!! I was in Atlanta for a business trip and had an evening free to meet a friend for dinner and we (by we, I mean she) were reminded about this place. And for me, who can say no to tacos and the amazing margaritas! The energy and the food was a perfect cap to a crazy busy week. We arrived before the rush and were able to be seated quickly. The staff explained how everything worked - you order via a webpage/app and are served accordingly. Put up a flag when you need staff assistance but they do check in to make sure everything is as expected and going well. Service was fantastic when we needed help at the end of the night (involving an extra charge due to a cracked glass that was resolved)!! The food...OMG was amazing. We started with margaritas and chips and guacamole. I love the fact that the chips were whole tortillas that we could break into smaller pieces. Not to mention the delicious tacos, my favorites were: the pork belly, roasted duck, shrimp, and the brisket. The oysters were such a surprise and I really enjoyed them! Update: The whole staff is doing everything they can to make customers feel safe. All Covid protocol and measures are in place. You can dine in, curbside, pickup. Ordering is on your phone. Jarren was our host and server. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was right, came out fast and we were happy! He made our day! We have a lot of food allergies and dietary restrictions. There are still a ton of gluten, dairy and egg free options even on the kids menu! Most places do not have gluten free or really any allergy free kids options. But here my kids enjoy a feast! They can pick and choose what they want and build their own plate! They even double checked on our order to be sure one dish was for me (has the allergy) and not my husband. Tyler the manager seems like a really great guy that really cares about his staff and customers. Another great experience! We love this location I just wish they'd open one closer! This was my first dine in visit after enjoying takeout a couple of weeks before. The restaurant is located downtown but fortunately there's a parking garage with free parking almost next door. Sunday around 1pm we were seated right away and asked if it was our first time. I quickly found out why. Things are done differently here with little to no contact between guests and servers so a tutorial from the staff the first time is very helpful. Quests use their smartphones to scan a small QR code attached to the middle of the table that takes you to the digital menu. Then they place their orders through the site which is routed directly to the kitchen. And when done eating diners pay for their meal. If you need a server's attention you simply put the dragonfly card provided in the small metal tabletop cardholder. We started with chips and salsa roja/$3.25. It was too spicy for me so they brought out a mild salsa verde and more chips at no charge. We also had street corn(2)/$3.50; glazed pork belly rice bowl/$9.95 and a roasted duck taco/$3.85. Came here on a Friday evening before an activity and was SUPER excited to try the much talked about Bar Taco, unfortunately I was extremely let down.. I give it 3 stars for the service and atmosphere. When I came in, there was no wait and we were seated quickly which was a pleasant surprise since I've read reviews about how busy they could get! The ambiance was nice, they were playing a little bit of Drake and Beyoncé at a comfortable level and it was nice looking at the different pictures they had on the walls. I bet it looks even nicer during the day. The manager and another waiter stopped by several times to ask if we had any questions about the ordering process since you order via QR code. PLEASEEE remember to close out your tab at the end, because it can be very tricky to know there's a next step to close out the tab. For a drink, I got the summer caipirinha which tasted heavily like lime but I liked it. Wasn't super strong and tasted good. To eat, I got the Fried Oyster Tacos and Sesame Ribeye. This is where the disappointment honestly set in. When they arrived to the table, they were much smaller than expected which was fine since I wasn't starving but it kind of caught me off guard. I took one bite of the sesame ribeye taco and declined to eat the rest.. it was dry (both the taco and the meat), cold, and the sesame flavor did not rock my tastebuds with Asian flavor like I was hoping it would. That taco gets a 0/10 from me. The fried oyster taco had a better flavor.. the remoulade tasted like tartar and complimented it well and the oysters had a nice, airy batter to them. However, they were EXTREMELY chewy. I am not exaggerating when I say I was chewing each oyster for at least 10 minutes.. I was with company and didn't want to be rude and spit it out but it gave my jaw a full workout when I just wanted to enjoy my meal. For that reason, that taco gets a 4/10. My friend had the duck taco and gave it a 5/10 due to lack of flavor. Overall, the ambiance was good but I don't think I'd ever be back. The food really missed the mark for me. read more

The sauce to dunk the tacos was good. Very delicious. We had some of their cocktails: margarita, mojitos which were good. Only negative is the limited parking as there's none. You're stuck with finding parking on the street. The parking lot next door is only for those in that shopping center. It's mobile ordering and you can have it in one receipt or per person. Bar taco is about to open at 11 and you can order anything you want from the menu until 9pm today. We love bartaco. The atmosphere is fantastic and the nautical decor always brights me to the ocean. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The parking is pretty limited out front and valet on the weekend. We usually visit the Inman park location due to those factors. This bartaco was actually closed for a while during the covid pandemic, but they have reopened for curbside pickup, delivery and dine in. We ordered curbside pickup online. The website was easy to navigate and place an order. They let you have options to eliminate ingredients that you don't want. The pick up process was easy. We pulled into the parking lot and walked to the window. Everyone inside has masks on. I was greeted right away and handed my order. Everything was packaged very well. I love their salsa verde. It's fresh and citrusy. The chips (which were still warm) was a perfect salty vessel to pair with this delicious salsa. Their tacos are small in size, but packed with flavors. I love all the tacos I have ever had. My favorite is the fried fish- fried crispy and topped with fresh slaw. The pork is awesome, seasoned perfectly. The Covina and ribeye were wonderful bites as well. The kids tray was a lot of food. Nice crunch to the quesadilla and fish taco. Fruit was fresh and nice size. Food here is consistently good. It was juicy, tasty, and I could drink the duck broth - heck I would take a bath in it. Next I got the Baja fish because honestly I order a fish taco everywhere I go. I've been following Bar Taco on Instagram for awhile and couldn't wait until I was able to try it out. I arrived around 11pm and there was no parking. The establ looks really small and they don't have much of a parking area. I ended up parking a few blocks down. There was a few large parties waiting, but we were seated right away because I had a party of 2. Once seated, the server came over right away and told us that we would fill out the paper menu to order. I ordered a spicy margarita, a chicken taco, a fish taco, a duck taco, salsa roja, and elote. The tacos were good, but the duck taco stood out! It had a great flavor and was really moist. That was my first time ever eating duck and it was superb! I devoured the elote (DID I TELL YOU THAT IT'S My FAVORITE FOOD?. The elote has just the right amount of cheese and spice. It was AMAZING! Now, the salsa roja, I should've asked questions before ordering because it wasn't my cup of tea. I assumed it was red salsa, but I can't describe what it was. It was served with crispy tortillas. I love a good spicy margarita, BUT this margarita KICKED ME IN THE THROAT! Lol It was too spicy for me!
