I've always been meaning to try this place! The vibes are super cute and the staff was really friendly. We sat outside under the lights and it's a great place for a date or girls night. FYI you have to order online on your phone and they don't seem to take cash. I got the fish taco, chicken, and chorizo. I wasn't a big fan of the oily chorizo flavor, though my boyfriend really liked it. The fish taco was the best I had. Cripsy yet not oily and pretty flavorful. Parking Depending on when you go, parking will be hard to find. I went on a Friday night around 8:00P. The parking deck (paid) was full. There are also a few nieghborhoods that are close by that you can park in for free. Those were also full. I drove around for about 10-15 min before finding a spot in a close by nieghborhood. Service By the time I got to the door, it was about 8.30, and there was a 1 hour. I put my name down for a table of 3 and waited about 40ish min to be seated. Once inside, my party and I were directed to scan a barcode. The barcode brought up the menu. Everyone was instructed to order and pay directly from our phones. That made it quick to order, and the food arrived quickly too. We however questioned if a waitress was needed, because we had little interaction with her. Food The food is okay. It's more of a Tex-Mex fusion restaurant. The portion sizes are on the small side, and it's a bit pricey. I tried the Mojo Rice Bowl. My meat was seasoned extremely well. I definitely needed more meat in my bowl though. I also added the brown sauce that came with the Trio Sauce Appetizer that I ordered. That made the dish taste a little better too! I ordered Trio Sauce and Chips for the table and it was ok. I'd heard a lot about the guac, but it was missing something (maybe tomatoes, garlic, salt, and lime?) The best sauce that came with the Trio was the brownish sauce. It tasted like a pineapple medium sauce with a little kick. Overall Overall giving this restaurant a 3 because it's just okay. Delicious as usual. I tried the portobello taco for the first time and they were excellent. I also loved the fish tacos and the cauliflower tacos were pretty good too. The salad was tasty and you get a good portion. My hubby ordered beef and pork tacos which he really enjoyed. He isn't a fan of the big tortilla chip as he prefers individual chips, however I love it and think it's a fun spin on chips and salsa. The guacamole was good and different- very tangy/vinegary. We ordered drink that never came to our table, although everyone around us got there drinks and I mentioned it to the staff several times. I was told they were short staffed which didn't make any sense as drinks kept coming forward everyone BUT us, lol. We didn't t make a fuss and just had them removed from our check but I was really looking forward to that spicy margarita with salt!! We finally made it out to bartaco and it was YUM. bartaco has very very limited parking in the lot by their restaurant with maybe 4 spots. We luckily parked on the street behind bartaco and only paid ~$3 for parking for our time out at dinner and there's a little stairway right by bartaco to go back. The atmosphere and decor of bartaco was sooooooo cute and this can definitely be a cute date night out place or a girl's night out. Even though a ton of reviews said there's normally a wait, we walked right in on a Saturday night with a good 1/3 of tables still empty. I do like bartaco's digital concept as you place your order on your phone via QR code, add items as you please, and pay from your phone as well. Just easy peasy! We ordered: - Baja Fish Tacos ($2.85) - Spiced Chicken Verde Taco ($2.85) - Crispy Oyster Taco ($3.85) - Sesame Ribeye Taco ($3.85) - Glazed Pork Belly Taco ($3.85) - Roasted Duck Taco ($3.85) - Street Corn ($3) We enjoyed all of our tacos we ordered, but they are a bit smaller than your 'average' tacos as they were more street taco sized. Normally 3 normal size tacos are enough for me, but after eating our first three we had to get another. My partner is not normally a fan of corn tortillas, but he did like these! The Baja Fish taco had a light yet crispy batter and the fish flaked perfectly. The Spiced Chicken Verde taco I found kinda meh-average, but my partner liked this one more. The Crispy Oyster taco was super yummy as well with a nice batter, but it came with only 2 pieces of fried oysters that left some taco bare with no protein. The Sesame Ribeye taco had a heaping serving of meat with a nice umami flavor. The Glazed Pork Belly taco can also get dinged for the amount of protein inside. Lastly, we both agreed the Roasted Duck taco was a HIT. We both enjoyed this one a lot and it's my partner's favorite of the night while my favorite was the Sesame Ribeye. The Street Corn was alright, but I don't think I would get it again. After tax and tip, dinner for 2 people came out to be around $40 which is pretty good for a Saturday night dinner in West Midtown! I came to bartaco on a beautiful sunny day. It was perfect weather to sit outdoors, but unfortunately they were busy cleaning the patio. This wasn't a big deal because the indoor seating was comfortable. Also, the operable walls were open and let in the fresh air. The ambiance is relaxed, trendy, and vibrant with a casual coastal vibe. The design of the restaurant, with its open and airy layout, creates an inviting atmosphere that is perfect for socializing and casual dining. Service was great and the waiters were all very friendly, attentive and helpful. You place your meal through QR code menu ordering, which requires you to put in your payment information. The food comes out shortly after. Below are my reviews: * Seared chorizo taco - This is an argentinian-style spiced ground pork, topped with sweet onion, cilantro and smoky red chimichurri sauce that comes on a 4-inch corn tortilla. You only get a few pieces of meat, but it is so tasty and tender. The flavor tastes even better after you squeeze a bit of lime juice on it. Definitely worth getting again! * Glazed pork belly taco - The pork belly is soft and tender. It is supposedly marinated in a spicy arbol chili sauce, but what I tasted was the sweet caramelized flavor of the glaze. Like the chorizo taco, this came on a corn tortilla. This was delicious, but I think I like the chorizo even more. * Tuna tatako taco - This is an ancho-crusted tuna with asian slaw on a bibb lettuce shell. I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this taco and the presentation. The tuna is coated in what tastes like a sweet soy sauce. The asian slaw is also well-seasoned and the flavors come together nicely. It tastes healthy and refreshing, especially after you add a few drops of lime juice. I will say that the tuna isn't super fresh, but it still tastes good. * Oaxacan sunshine - Absolutely adored this cocktail! The passion fruit flavor really hit the spot, and all the ingredients complement each other. It is so refreshing and the alcohol is not overpowering. This is a really well made cocktail and I have to learn how to make this myself because it is just that good. (Ingredients: libélula joven + gentian liqueur + orange + mint + lime + passionfruit syrup + chia + montelobos mezcal mist) * Spring caipirinha - This cocktail was not as impressive as the oaxacan. I expected it to taste more tart because of the elderflower, but it ended up tasting like diluted, spiked, fresh orange juice. It wasn't bad, but I would go for the oaxacan if you are looking for something citrusy/sour, that is also sweet and refreshing. (Ingredients: cachaça 51 + elderflower + orange + lime + sugar). Tacos were great, service could have been a bit tighter. The place wasn't full but we were told it would be a 30 minute wait for 3 people. We then asked if we could sit at the bar and the host said "if you can dine a seat" We found 3 quickly! We had the cauliflower, Baja, and shrimp tacos. All were delicious! We also had some margaritas and the house tequila cocktail. We ordered and my drink never came out, finally we asked the bartender and she said she'd make it right away. It still took another few for it to come out but when it did it was really yummy. We also ordered a second round of tacos after our first. This round came without one taco. We told a bartender who said they'd check on it for us. We then asked again a few minutes later and she said "oh we can remove it since you didn't get it" and I had to ask, like can I still get the taco haha? Overall yummy food and drinks. This place is sooooooo good. The tacos here are phenomenal. I came here with my girlfriend and we had almost every taco on the menu. We recommend the pork belly and duck taco. They were amazing. The only downside here would be that they are too small haha. They only take 2 bites to finish. The price here is pretty expensive but worth it. They also have three of their own sauces. My favorite being the spiciest/orange habanero sauce. This place DOES NOT do cash. Cards only. My girlfriend and I were very happy and we will come back to this very soon. My review is based off of takeout. My daughter visited me and gave a container of food she wanted me to try. I opened the container and there were two very fancy tacos in the package. The first thing that came to mind was the fact that the presentation was impeccable. Everything had a nice color and the tacos had not spilled out all over the place. This is a big deal because she traveled by Marta from the location all the to East Point. The taste. I had a pork belly taco and a Shrimp taco. My daughter immediately asked how did I know it was pork belly. Dear child just because you have never in your life seen me eat it doesn't mean I dont know what its is. I bit into and instantly thought about my granddad because he raised hogs. This pork was fresh. If you don't like the piggy taste then dont get this taco. It was tasty but again very fresh pork. Everything is done from a QR code and it just takes so much longer to order and makes it difficult to customize orders. We got chips and salsa, several different kinds of tacos, rice and beans, the chocolate gelato, and a beer and a margarita. The margarita was really good and fresh and not too sweet. I also don't think it was strong but it was worth it. The chips and salsa were interesting. The "chips" were round tortilla shells essentially that you had to break up yourself. Ehh. The salsa wasn't great in my opinion, it had a very smoky flavor that i wasn't a huge fan of. The tacos were pretty good. The chicken one was the best. Shrimp one wasn't great. My favorite....probably the chicken. I ended it all with churros. I wasn't as happy with those. Not as sweet as I'd like and the chocolate dipping sauce wasn't my thing. I thought I'd enjoy more. If you're going with people some might get confused on how to use it. My cocktail and our drinks came maybe 20 minutes after we ordered, which wasn't super desirable. The service was kind of just mediocre, the food came at different times. My sisters kids meal came first then 3 of my tacos then 6 other tacos. It just took a long time which sucked. Stopped in for an early dinner, place was busier than I thought it would be at 5pm. We had the cucumber, black beans and Mexican corn side. Grabbed the falafel and cauliflower tacos. The spicy cucumbers were good. Not very spicy but tasty with just the right amount of cilantro. The beans were spot on, especially with a large dash of the habanero sauce. The corn wasn't very good in my opinion. The creamy base totally overwhelmed the spice and corn itself. The falafel taco was great. Crunchy and tasty. The cauliflower taco was also very good, much better than one would expect. Again, both benefitted from the habanero sauce. So I hate to have to downgrade my review; but my second visit to bartaco wasn't as great as my first. The main problem was the service. My first visit, the server was excellent! We were greeted right away, etc. This time we sat for about 5 minutes before anyone said anything to us. 5 minutes is a long time to not be greeted at all. After the 6th minute or so, we we told that someone would be with us soon. We wait. The place was not crowded, not sure what was going on. Our server was kind and helpful once when we got her attention. I wanted to come back here because I remembered how great their guacamole was. We ordered it again, however it was so spicy we couldn't eat it. Guacamole isn't traditionally spicy, unless otherwise specified. We told the server and got another order which lacked flavor. There was no happy medium--overly spicy or tasteless. The server suggested we mix the two to have a good balance. We honestly shouldn't have to do that. The tacos were pretty good and their plantains were just as tasty as last time. I will come back to this place and will still suggest it to people; I just wish my second time was as good as the first! read more

I have been a fan of Bartaco for about 2 years now because I LOVE their fresh margaritas! It has been a while since I've enjoyed one so when my cousin reached out about lunch I suggested we go there. Margaritas were amazing of course! I tried there chicken empanadas for the first time and was a little disappointed because they tasted more bland than I was expecting. Also, it was more like eating cornbread than your typical empanada in my opinion. However, the sauce really brings a lot to this dish by carrying so much flavor so I still ate most of it. The plantains are also one of my go-to's so I got an order of that as well. It was around 12:45pm so it was pretty empty. There were tall plastic barriers between tables to ensure safety and distance. I also loved being able to use the qr code to order and pay. I just wish there was a way it could automatically split the order. Maybe there is and I just wasn't aware of it. read more

I love Bartaco! I haven't been back since covid, so I was excited to visit again with some friends. I arrived around 7:30 on a Thursday night, and there was a table ready. I appreciated being seated even though all of my party had not arrived. I also loved the open garage concept, and the weather was perfect! When you're dining you feel like you're outside but that you're also in an enclosed area too. No one came to tell my party that we had to use a QR code to order, so we sat around for about 15 minutes before we figured it out. I think part of an excellent dining experience is being able to engage with your waiter so they can provide food and drink recommendations. My experience here was great(in terms of food)! It was my first time at bartaco, so I was pretty excited. We had to do valet because it looked like it was really busy, but the valet attendants were quick and friendly. I ordered guacamole, and it came with some big pieces of tortilla chips. The guac was okay, but nothing extraordinary. The size was a bit on the small side too. I also ordered the battered corn fritters, and it was also just a-ok. I think I will just stick to ordering tacos if I come here again. I ordered a few fish tacos, a shrimp taco, and had a bite of the ahi tuna taco. All the tacos were pretty good. If I go back, I think I'll try some of the other tacos too, but I'll definitely order the tuna taco(served in a lettuce wrap) again. The reason why my experience wasn't amazing is because the service was really slow. My friend had to wait a really long time before receiving the margarita that was ordered before we ordered food. We also had to flag down our waitress several times to ask for things we needed. If the service was better, this would've been a better experience. It was my first time in Atlanta and Bartaco was recommended by friends. The place sure did not disappoint one bit. My boyfriend and I order a mix of tacos to try different flavors and it was hard to pick a favorite because they were all good. We also got a bottle of sangria which was a bit pricey but definitely well worth it because it was not too sweet and not too strong. When we ordered the corn and ceviche I was not expecting much as I am a huge ceviche fan. However, to my surprise the ceviche was very tasty it was not too juicy or lemony it was great. Now I am not a corn fan but the corn on the cob was really good. The establishment was clean and well decorated. I was placed on hold for 10 min. Additionally, I tried calling the restaurant several times but no one picked up. Once I arrived the cashier seemed to be unbothered by my frustrations. She retorted that they were busy. I looked around the restaurant to observe that they in fact WERE NOT BUSY. I would have used the app however I was driving.
