I would have given this place no stars but yelp doesn't let you do that. I ordered a cake over the phone last week asking for a Hello Kitty decorated cake. I arrived and only after i paid for the cake the man let me see it. The cake I ordered was orange and had no hello kitty on it at all. They cake was the smallest size they have which was not what id asked for. I looked in the case were they have premade cakes and i found ones in there were much larger and cost way less then mine. i asked the man to please provide me with a hello kitty decal and he proceeded to tell me it would be an additional $10 extra!!! i will never return to this poorly managed establishment!! read more

This store is near my home, so I went there awhile back to buy gift certificates. The manager was rude from the moment I walked in & told him what I wanted -- he asked if the recipients would be using them here & I said that they'd probably use them at the store near their home in Sunnyvale -- he said that he only stocked them as an accommodation to customers because he gets no money from selling them, & he'd "just as soon not be bothered" by people coming in to buy them for use elsewhere -- he didn't want to deal with a credit card or check, so I returned to my car to get cash. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I would have told him to shove it -- nevertheless, I'll certainly never set foot in his store again, nor recommend it to anyone! Today, I went to the store on Forest at Winchester & bought gift cards (with a VISA) from a very nice man who thanked me for visiting his store. They always have the best assortments of candies and cones. I remember it was always an extravagant display compared to the other stores, you can tell the owner takes pride in his business. Came here with 6 people after dinner at a close by restaurant. There were 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 toddler in our group. The older gentleman behind the counter was not too friendly when a member of our group identified himself as a long time customer. In fact he was just plain rude, " no I don't remember you, what do you want". He wasn't really paying attention to every member in our group and was ringing us up before everyone was served, I guess he was in a hurry. Rude. They don't want your business. Do them a favor by not going here. I called to order an ice cream cake and they wouldn't take my order. They said they had over 150 different ice cream cakes and I needed to come in and choose one. I then asked if they had the flavor that I wanted, they told me they didn't know what they had and that I should just come in. Did they expect me to look through 150 cakes at the store to see if they had the flavor that I was looking for? Baskin Robbins is a great company that offers 31+ flavors. This location had more than 31 which made me interested why this company differs from others. I have worked in Baskin Robbins before and I can say that the company is a great place to work at. However, in this place, the atmosphere was dull. The reason I say this is because of this lady named, Gia or Gloria. She ignored me when I walked in the store while I asked for a sample. I thought that I didn't get her attention but I saw that she was distracted by her phone and laughed. Actually, from my memory I remember that in any working conditions, there shouldn't be phones out. I asked for a single scoop in a cup of Jamoca and she used the sundae scoop...I mean she did help me but it seemed like she didn't care about showing positivity and respect. This bask in robins is the absolute best location I have ever seen! We have been coming here for 25 years and not only are they consistent they are very accommodating'. The owner of this franchise creates a bummer of an environment. I live down the street from this place and I have stopped going here. Why? This is my 1st Yelp review and sadly it has to be a negative one. We have been customers of this shop over 20 years. We visit weekly. Sometimes several times a week. Last week my son took our daughter there for a treat. The manager/owner knows my daughter by now. She was carrying an 8 week old puppy and was told to stand outside. We understand that for health and safety it may be against the policy of the store. My son who's 22 asked the manager/owner if she could just stand inside by the door since she's only 12 and we don't just leave our daughter out in the open with no supervision. Manager/owner stated "NO, she can stand outside." Really? That's how loyal customers are treated. They weren't going to sit and eat. They were buying and leaving. We let the rude comments by the manager/owner go when told to CLOSE the freezer door when we were grabbing ice cream. We've let the rude communication from him pass when we've asked questions. We have witnessed young kids spoken to rudely. The brother is friendly but main manager/owner not so much. We'll be visiting other ice cream shops that value loyalty from customers but MOST of all care about the safety of children. PLUS $8+ is A LOT for a large milkshake!! read more

Before I post to Yelp, I always read other comments - I was appalled to see that people have used Yelp to deal with personal issues and not business related ones for this store when rating it. I've been to this Baskin Robbins on multiple occasions and have had nothing but top notch service. Michael is extremely professional and the store is immaculate. My kids love going there not just because of the ice cream but the atmosphere too. Yelp is not the place to post personal issues, possibly even fabricated ones. FB might be a better place for that or maybe even a therapist's office....I hope others who read the minimal low star postings realize it. I will continue to take my children and enjoy the tasty products they have to offer and recommend you do too. read more

Their ice cream is just good as the next Baskin Robbins location. But when I get a cone, they ask me the most unnecessary, ASININE, INVASIVE question- "Is this for here or to go?" Why does it matter whether I sit down in their store or take the ice cream cone outside? There is still sales tax on the cone in either case. This Baskin Robbins is awesome. Both of the owners are extremely hard working and run a great business. The freezers are always fully packed with fresh cakes. I love the cute chocolate dipped sprinkled cones. The best is when you catch the owners making waffle cones, because they smell so yummy:) I was surprised to find so many flavors at this store, I think around 48! There are even sugar free and dairy free options. The employees are very friendly, well trained, and the service is fast. The store is even fully equipped with flat screens. I've been going to Baskin Robbins since my mom started taking me there in elementary school when I got good grades. BR quickly became my favorite place. I didn't think it could get any better, but then I came to Mike's BR in San Jose. Not only did it bring back all that nostalgia, but the atmosphere was awesome. Baskin Robbins ice cream is the best, and I have visited many of their stores all over California, but Willow Glen's is definitely my favorite. The atmosphere is fun and makes you feel at home.
