Everything tasted super fresh and the bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. My original plan was to eat half and save the rest for later... yeah, that didn't happen. Ended up finishing the whole thing because it was that good. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the whole spot had a really chill local vibe. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. Highly recommend this place and I'll for sure be back to try more off the menu.

I give it 1 star for the nice owners and family. I give it 1 star for sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying the outside vibe. I give it 1 star for average food. The menu however, has major issues. The bread they use for the garlic bread, the pesto bread, and the pastrami sandwich doesn't hold up. The white part of the bread gets mushy and has a bad texture. That's the case for all hot sandwiches and garlic breads. I recently ordered the chicken parm, and the chicken was cut into small pieces and was burnt. I like my meat cut up in rice dishes such as paella and jambalaya, but cut up chicken parm seems low class and it wasn't great. I also recently ordered the Italian sub. It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average. I don't discourage you from going if you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal on the sidewalk outside in nice weather, but there is literally nothing I've found on their large menu that is above average. The menu is flawed in too many ways. At least the family owners seem to be very nice and that goes a long way in deciding who to give my hard earned money to.

With my Afro Latino roots I was craving a Cubano sandwich and was thoughtful enough to grab a "Spicy Steve" and the service was attentive and top tier at the same darn time It's a quaint spot and mad me fee like I was diving into the better unknown secrets of Belmont Heights with pleasant results. Now what should never be allowed is the tasteless, seasonless and soulless potato salad that was presented to me at the counter which should be overhauled or punishable to the chef and crew by making them eat a years supply of this horrific concoction. The music is perfect for the space. The menu is varied and they have both alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks. It's a deli. And they absolutely fill the roll perfectly. And as anyone will tell you, who frequents any deli in the country. What matters is the food. Period. All the niceties mean nothing if the food distant stand up. So... how did they do? Meh. They do not cook it in house. It didn't appear to be a brisket although with it being shaved as thinly as it is I don't know if that would help. Brisket corned beer works best when it's nice thick beautiful cuts that break apart and melt in your mouth. But. As you can see in the picture, they don't grill the corned beef but they do pile it pretty darn high. Which is nice. The sauerkraut wasn't grilled. The rye wasn't roasted long enough so the Swiss didn't properly melt and set. Not enough Thousand Island dressing. The rye has the perfect texture and it helps to very nicely. An excellent Jewish rye! The pesto pasta salad was very nice. And it looked as if the other sides were made with an equal amount of attention and love. So high marks there. This is one of those tough reviews because the reality is the atmosphere, the staff and the location are all excellent. The sandwich needs some work. Remember that the Grilled Reuben is the ONLY TRUE American Sandwich. It was created from scratch for the 1942 World's Fair in New York City. It's an original! Treat it with the respect it deserves. And this three star sandwich... of all sandwiches is a hard pass. Sorry.
