I'm not local to San Diego, so whenever I go down for a visit, I always make it a point to stop by a Better Buzz location. It has always been a favorite coffee shop of my over the years. This last visit was unfortunately underwhelming. We ordered the Best Drink Ever, a Cinnamon Cream Cold Brew and a pistachio croissant. Of those three, the pistachio croissant was my favorite thing. The coffee was okay, but I felt like it wasn't as good as I used to think it was. It gave me Starbucks vibes, if I'm being honest. Generally, parking sucks for any Better Buzz, but this one has a tiny lot and a drive-thru, so we were lucky and got to park right in front. Where to begin... The layout: there is a tiny postage stamp size waiting room inside. You order on a touchscreen. Even though it's a take out only location, there is a very small little section of counter that will hold a few drinks, thereby ensuring that some weirdo looking for his drink will touch your drink. Then you have to stand right next to the genius that just touched everyone's drink and stare at the merch section thoughtfully crammed into their zero space torture room. There's nothing that makes people want to buy some awesome merch more than being uncomfortably close to other people. Add drakes latest album being blasted at full volume (full treble eq mix and no bass) and you have a very unpleasant coffee stop. Can you tell i'm not a morning person? I love Better Buzz and this was the first time I have been to the PB location The drink was amazing as usual. Best Drink Ever is a great way to describe it. Only complaint: Jesus f-ing Christ! Turn the god damn music down!! This isn't a club and it's not your house! When the employees ask you a question, you can't hear anything they say and it's not like it's a huge store. My husband and I tried out this spot back in February during a weekend trip to SD. It was pretty busy so they had someone right as you drive up to take orders which really helped move the line faster. I ordered the Best Drink Ever (iced) and feta avocado toast and my husband ordered the white mocha latte and a blueberry muffin. We enjoyed our drinks. The Best Drink Ever really lives up to the hype, it was so good! I didn't pay attention to the fact they gave me the plain version of the avocado toast until we had already gotten on the freeway to head home and we didn't feel like driving back. The avocado toast was really delicious but I'm sure it would have tasted even better with feta and tomatoes! Next time I'll make sure I get the correct order before driving off lol read more

My friend was raving about this place and begged us to stop on our way home from San Diego. We got in the drive thru line and a worker approached and took our order, happy to tell us his favorites and even about a rewards program! Please bring one of these locations to Valencia! I had the matcha with coconut milk, half sweet. This was the best matcha I have ever had!!! Great quality matcha, creamy hot milk and it was the perfect level of sweet. I was savoring it the whole drive. My friends ordered various coffee drinks and agreed they were all delightful. They did have a small Selection of pastries, bagels, and avocado toast available. We received our order in 15 minutes and we'll all happily return when we are in the area again! Keep up the good work, fun flavors, and delicious drinks. I absolutely love this store. I was out in PB shopping and I've been to the La Mesa location and it's quite overwhelming. But for some reason, the store is spot on. My drink was correct. The staff were absolutely amazing and so helpful and sweet and Jamie was one of the nicest sweetest helpful people I could've asked for. If I could put a zero star for this place, I would. The coffee is great, service not so much. My family and I came here and ended up waiting 25 minutes for a coffee in the walk-in section of this shop. It's clear that they do not prioritize people who walk-in versus those who go through the drive-through. They're so worried about their service time, they should be worried about the mass of customers waiting for their drinks. They completely forgot my daughter's drink, I assume the ticket was lost in their disorganized kitchen. Upon asking two or three times they not only continued to forget about it, but they weren't even nice and customer service was very poor. Also, I witnessed them mess up in order for two açai bowls, and be completely disorganized about how to fix that for that customer. Overall, terrible service and lack of respect and wanting to give the customers a good experience. Do better. The workers weren't friendly at all and didn't make a customer feel comfortable when we asked about the order. And the coffee spills in to go cups. read more

"Best Drink Ever" was overhyped. It was good but not the best I've had. I did walk in and there were 6-7 flies everywhere and another 2-3 flies in the pastry display landing on the pastries. Do not get your pastries here. Looking at other Yelp reviews, seems like they've had fly problems from 9 years ago and it was never resolved. Stopped in this morning around 6:30 am. Coffee is (as always) amazing. Got an iced pumpkin spice latte, half sweet, cinnamon on top (my first of the season), and it was perfect. Note that this location is TINY, and mostly drive-through customers. There are 2 parking spots before the drive-through window. There's no seating inside. Just 4 bar seats outside, overlooking the parking lot, and no public bathroom. Service was very polite and friendly, and they brought out food orders to cars temporarily parked in the only 2 spots past the drive-through window: a handicapped spot, and a "no parking" spot. Good coffee fix, but think I'll go to one with a few more amenities next time. read more

Better Buzz is a stop I'll always make when I'm nearby! I stopped here on a walk and was a little concerned since it looks like it's drive thru only, but the entrance is hidden in the back. At this location, they had ordering at a kiosk which made it easy to look at everything. Everything I've tried had been good but super yummy are the blended drinks (Vanilla is my favorite - it kind of tastes like vanilla protein powder but yummy)!! I've also tried the Hazelnut Divinity and the Best Drink Ever which were really good! The drinks can be a little sweet though. The drinks taste so yummy they're probably not healthy but I looked online and it looks like some of them actually have protein! read more
