One of the nice things about flying out of Long Beach airport is being able to relax a bit and have a civilized meal at the Boathouse. The coffee is good, and if you are in the mood, you can do a breakfast cocktail instead - you know, if it's that kind of trip. I usually do a light breakfast... a bagel or an egg with some bacon. It's fine. This isn't life-changing food, but it's a pretty indoor/outdoor setting and you can actually sit down and enjoy your meal and get some work done. Great service from Kimberly but the food was just okay. We sat on the patio and luckily there was a little breeze and some shade. We split the Boathouse Club with fries. Really good fries, hot and fresh. The Club was just ok. I don't love garlic aioli and there wasn't much. Barely any avocado and bacon. The little bit of bacon was curled up, like dried out buffet bacon. I usually try to give positive reviews, so I'm reluctant to write this one. Traveling with kids is stressful enough without poor service adding to it. First Impressions This restaurant looked promising. We found them online on our way to the airport and headed straight there after passing through security. We arrived hoping for a quick breakfast before our noon flight. The menu looked good, but airport pricing is a hidden tax that must be paid. The Issues Once seated, I asked for watered-down orange juice for our two-year-old. Our server made this a point of contention, insisting we pay full price--I wasn't asking for a discount, just juice diluted for our child. We resolved it ourselves at the table. The server informed us they were out of pancakes, fruit, ham, bacon, and eggs due to a delivery day. She was incredibly rude throughout the interaction. When she offered lunch as an alternative if we could wait 10 minutes, a table of five sat down after us. Notably, she took their order first. When she finally returned to us, I ordered a breakfast burrito and we ordered sausage for our toddler. The waitress then left the table abruptly before my wife could place her order. Frustrated, my wife went next door to the bakery to buy fruit and a muffin for our son. Resolution I spoke with the manager about my wife's order never being taken. The manager sent the server back to us--who was rude again. We ended up splitting my breakfast burrito, which was nothing to be impressed about. The waitress became noticeably nicer only when delivering the bill. I tipped her well regardless, because I spent half my life in food service and understand that everyone has bad days. Our third time flying into and out of Long Beach airport. First time trying this restaurant. It's nice they have indoor and outside seating for the courtyard. The prices are fairly reasonable too for an airport. My wife ordered the bowl of clam chowder and it was meh. I tried it and it was just ok. Kind of greasy too. Had a delayed flight and this was the only spot open at LGB. Service was fast and no-frills. Ordered the poke salad (crazy airport meal choice) and it was definitely not bad at all. I really enjoyed the dressing. Only counted about 10 pieces of tuna and wish that portion was bigger. I really wish they would make a bigger menu! The Boathouse is a favorite on the Marina. Love all the local businesses that are set up in the beloved Long Beach Airport, including Boathouse. Although we don't get a pretty view of the Alamitos Bay here, they do provide an al fresco patio area for travelers to enjoy some delicious drinks and a hearty meal before their departure. The bartender(s) are always on deck, ready to take your order and serve your drink. Previously, I got the Breakfast Market Bowl, which came with sautéed greens, veggies, breakfast potatoes, and two eggs your way. Unfortunately, they don't poach eggs here, so I opted for sunny side up. The ingredients were fresh, but I wasn't feeling the balsamic glaze on the dish. Adding hot sauce helped. This time, I got the Grilled Chicken BLT with sourdough, salad and a side of fries. The chicken was juicy and smoky, the bacon was crispy and the garlic herb aioli went well with the sandwich. The fries were perfectly seasoned, crisp and not too greasy. The fresh house salad balanced out the meal. I washed down my lunch with a La Marca Prosecco. I stopped by here after walking through the TSA security checkpoint. I was starving and luckily sat at the counter and didn't have to wait. I ordered the two eggs breakfast plate with the sausage patty. The food did take some time. It took about 20 minutes to come out. My server was nice and attentive. I stopped by this burger place in Long Beach Airport right after the TSA checkpoint, and it was a fun little surprise. There's plenty of seating outside, which is a nice perk, though indoor seating is a bit limited. But once you're seated, it's got a nice, easygoing vibe. Like most airport restaurants, the food was good, but not mind-blowing. I ordered a chicken sandwich with bacon, and it was solid, probably a 4 out of 5. The fries were pretty ordinary, nothing to write home about, but the coffee cake was a highlight. It was super fresh with a delicious caramel drizzle on top. As expected, the prices were a bit higher, but nothing outrageous. It was just your typical airport markup. The real star of the show, though, was my server, Gil. He was super friendly, really made the whole experience more enjoyable. Overall, it was a good stop: just a classic airport burger joint, but with some charm. I'd swing by again. read more

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience at your Boathouse location in the Long Beach terminal. I ordered fish and chips, and unfortunately, the quality was very poor. The fish was extremely dry and tough, lacking both freshness and flavor. However, what upset me more than the food was the service. I ordered my food to go and waited nearby to pick it up. While standing in front of the restaurant, I was told by a staff member that I could not wait there. I then moved to sit in an available chair nearby, only to be told by a woman at the counter/bar that I was not allowed to sit either--even though there were plenty of empty seats. This was confusing and frustrating. As a paying customer waiting for my order, I do not understand why I was treated this way. Being told that I could neither stand nor sit while waiting for food I had just purchased felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. While I could overlook the food quality, I cannot overlook being treated disrespectfully. This experience has left a very negative impression, and unfortunately, it will be my first and last time supporting your establishment. My wife and I went here on Friday 6/19 to have a nice dinner. I made reservations, we showed up 15 minutes early and waited a few minutes to be seated. Once we were seated we sat there for a good 15 minutes and didn't get acknowledged once! No, I'll be right with you, no water, nothing and several servers walked by our table during that time, so we decided to leave and go somewhere else. Victor is the worst server I've ever seen in my life. I'm a server and I don't even know how he is employed as a server. Took 17 min to get a water and a beer. Saw my boyfriend's beer sitting there for the entire time. He just couldn't be bothered to run it. So the female waitress ran the beer. Not only does he have a terrible attitude but he can't do his job and doesn't care too. The female server took tables maybe 5-10 min after us and they were served drinks and food promptly. My family and I recently flew from Long Beach airport for our first family trip. It was 6:19am, so we decided to order food to go at this restaurant before we boarded. While waiting for our food, we sat at this table and the cashier lady (shown on the picture) told my husband that we couldn't sit there because it's only for dine in. Mind you, it was 6 in the morning, it was too early for me to complain, plus I did not want it to ruin my excited vibe to travel. However, I did not appreciate the customer service, it did not make sense to me that we couldn't sit and wait when we bought food, there was only 3 of us, and it wasn't that busy. Where were we supposed to wait? The distance from sitting and standing by the table did not make a difference, (shown on the picture where my son ended up sitting on the luggage). A definite regular spot for us in our dining rotation, however tonight we hit the jackpot with Natalie serving us. How we managed to miss this treasure is beyond me. Natalie is attentive, yet discreet, allowing for a date night to be seamless. Her knowledge of the menu is unparalleled and boy did she nail her recommendations! I wasn't paying attention to when my flight took off so I arrived to the airport about an hour and a half early for my flight so I decided to have breakfast. The Boathouse is a cute restaurant with both an indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was limited but looked ok. I ordered the pancake breakfast which included 2 pancakes, an egg, and bacon or sausage. I asked for my egg over easy but was told that they are only serving scrambled eggs. I ordered it without thinking. When the food came, I was completely disappointed; the eggs were clearly from a box and not a fresh egg, it was rubbery, had no flavor and wasn't even seasoned. The bacon were too large pieces however they were very tough and the smoke flavor was overwhelming. The only thing I ended up eating was the pancakes which were also disappointing. The pancakes were chewy and had a distinct smoke flavor; clearly cooked on the same griddle as the bacon and absorbed some of that flavor. The service was good, the staff are very pleasant however, I would not eat here again. read more
