Updating my review. Realized that I haven't come here in almost a year.... reason is probably because their coffee is somewhat mediocre while the price is not. But my out of town friend suggested we meet here for coffee one day so I decided to try it again. There was one employee and a couple customers. I think the whole process of waiting in line, ordering, paying, and waiting for my drink took 25 minutes.... maybe 30. I ordered an espresso, not some complicated drink. It wasn't a long line either. It was two people ahead of me. Not only that, but the employee clearly forgot my drink order. When I asked where it was, she said she was working on other ppl's drinks. There were no other people! I was irked but I let this go. I understand it's not easy working by yourself and thought "This probably doesn't happen often." The next week comes and another friend says to meet here. I didn't want to but I decided to try once more. Once again, one employee during the busy morning coffee rush. My friend ordered and I was right behind. I don't know if it's just training or bad logic but these employees will literally take their sweet time making one drink before going back to take the other customers' order. I'm standing at the counter for five minutes, watching them literally toast one marshmallow to top a latte. Maybe take the few waiting customers' orders and then get busy with drinks? Not only that but when I ordered my americano in a to-go cup, it was half empty. I didn't want to wait another eternity for a new drink. I think these two experiences will make me never come back. The next time people recommend this place, I'm going to deter them away. Rather go to Starbucks. Not only is their coffee just okay and pricey, the service is way too slow. Refreshingly tasty on this super hot morning. Searched "study" and this is one of the cafes that popped up. Im always down to try and support local businesses so once I saw this i knew i had to put it on my list of must try study spots. Needed a place to leave the home and get on my study grind and really glad i came here! I had the ube latte (dirty iced) it was sooo good! Scared it was gonna be too sweet but pleasantly surprised it was the perfect amount of sweetness, for me at least. Came here on a sunday morning and there was a good amount of tables open with outlets, to study. Their drinks, esp. the cold brew is great! I've been going to this spot multiple times during before and during the pandemic, and got to know the owners over time. Latte is bland as heck. I got myself a triple shot latte with hazelnut and oat. And that is the last thing I'll ever get. Apart from taste, 8.70 for a latte is the most ridiculous price ever. And this is a local coffee shop that supports the local community by having small business owner setup booths that is truly amazing and the environment has such a homie vibe for a long work session even though it is beside a busy road. . But I have to write this at least if someone on staff reads this. Would love for alittle more Vegetarian variation to the menu. So I had ordered an avocado toast (remove all the meat)/cafe latte and the bill came out $19 okay that is abit high I had thought. But at least I get a scrumptious avocado toast I am okay with that lol. And this was what I got for $19 lollll. Adding another slice would have made sense for this order lol and add some "everything but bagel" spice sprinkled would have "uplifted" this even more. First of all, I would like to say that I'm happy there's a coffee house in the community that is not a chain store. I find that community coffee houses are more personable and warm. I tend to favor these establishments more than the big chains. My experience at Café Aficionado was a letdown unfortunately. The place itself was pretty clean and well laid out. However it was my experience that rendered this rating. During the transaction after I ordered my drink, the barista asked "if you want to sign up for points or not". It was said in a way that indicated to me that this person didn't really care. Uh okay..."not" then! Pretty rude. I ordered a Dark Chocolate Orange latte and had a 10% off on Yelp for checking in. The price for the latte was $4.75 plus tax and plus the 10% off. The grand total: $4.85! Something's definitely wrong with the math here...I was clearly overcharged. The drink itself was a huge disappointment. It was supposed to be a dark chocolate orange latte. There was absolutely no hint of orange flavoring and the drink it was gritty as well as quite bland. It's similar to chocolate milk powder that was not thoroughly mixed. It was a huge letdown given that I was overcharged and my drink tasted like a $1 gritty orange-less unevenly-mixed hot chocolate. I really wanted to like this place... Good location, cute layout, clean, and individually owned. Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. My sandwich was greasy and had the wrong cheese, which in and of itself, isn't the worst thing in the world. The parking here was easy. The customer service is great & was very helpful with menu! I recommend coming here for studying and hanging out with friends. The environment here is nice and somewhat quiet depending on the day and time. They have a lot of coffee options and foods too! They even have also seasonal drinks too which is so unique! Lavender honey latte tasted Chinese Medicine Pomegranate lemonade didn't taste like pomegranate at al, just lemonade Ube latte with expresso, it tasted exactly as Taro tea, but the powder still in the bottom, wasn't mixed at all. I was walking from my dentist (Mid Valley Dental - great place ) and found this gem. So glad I did because the customer service was excellent, my drink was great and priced well. I believe Sheridan is her name, she recommend the lavender honey drink which is refreshing and has the perfect mix of tea, honey, espresso, and milk. It was my first time checking this place out and I loved it! I got the campfire latte which came with toasted marshmallows on top. It was absolutely delicious! Their food was also really freaking good! I recommend their bagel sandwich if you're looking for something that isn't too heavy. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the items!
