Obviously, every experience is different, but both my adult son and I had similar impressions of Casa Pollastro. First, we intended to go to another restaurant, but it was jammed with people so we ventured just north to Casa Pollastro. Second, we were expecting another typical restaurant experience, but instead found ourselves in an all you can eat Brazilian steak and pasta kind of place. We were told it was only $35 for all you can eat chicken and steak plus pasta dishes. My family was reluctant, but I talked them into trying it. Third, here's my impression of the food: The positives: The food was delivered quickly, and the staff was attentive, although the waiter who initially explained that he was our waiter was not seen that often. A group of ladies did take pretty good care of us. The bread was excellent, and the butter and other spreads were very good, too. This believe it or not was the highlight of the meal. A chicken broth based soup was served and it was pretty good. It left me wanting more and looking forward to an exciting evening. The salad was a tossed salad with several optional dressings, and it was served like olive garden family style. It was not great but acceptable. Lacking in olives, tomatoes and other vegetables. In fact, the entire meal was lacking in vegetables. The not so positive aspects: The appetizers were very unusual. One was parmesan covered bread stick called polenta frita. Another was some cheese puffs and another was potato salad (for an appetizer). Yet another was some type of small cheese square served with honey. All were served family style, none of them were all that flavorful, and none were something I would order again. The entrées, which were highly anticipated, were terrible. The chicken was really, really small. I've had chicken wings that were both more flavorful and bigger. Don't expect a breast or drumstick because they aren't coming. One was supposed to be garlic, the other parmesan. Neither were that tasty and both were overcooked. The pastas, of which there were several, were very disappointing. None of them were prepared properly. You would swear they were almost raw. Not even close to al dente. They also called everyone one of them by the wrong name. Linguini was called spaghetti, rigatoni was macaroni, and ravioli was something altogether different. Who puts papaya in a ravioli or agave or anything like that? They also had a strange sauce. The so-called chicken spaghetti has almost no chicken. The best of the pastas was the butternut squash ravioli. Lastly, the steak was just abysmal. I expected a nice cut a steak, but it was all overcooked top sirloin. The portions were miniscule, and they were all well done. Furthermore, they all had large parts gristle and hard fat. Just bad all the way around. Almost everything was served from a bowl. So the most anticipated part of them meal was just not anything like I expected. I've been to other similar places and they were infinitely better. The desserts were acceptable. There are three. They show up in small dishes for three people. Essentially, everyone get a tablespoon worth unless you request seconds. They served chocolate moose, which was more of a pudding, passion fruit moose, which was different but nice, and Brazilian flan which was a little hard for my taste. I do think that they could greatly improve their offering by hiring a chef that can actually cook pasta and steak. The chicken is a lost cause. We've eaten there for our first and last time. I'll spend my dining dollars somewhere I can expect better food. I've paid a great deal more for the kind of dining experience I was expecting, but I feel that even $35 is too much for this place. Perhaps the filet mignon or lamb chop is better, but we weren't served it. I saw this place on TT and was really intrigued to come here since it's close to where we live. We came in on a random Wednesday night and while it was busy, it wasn't overly crowded like what you would expect on a weekend night. I will say that a lot of my issues I had was probably caused by the restaurant being featured on social media and the staff were maybe overcorrecting. While others may have felt little to no service during their dine-in experience, I felt like we were incredibly rushed. While we were about to sit down, two people came up to us. One placed the soup down in front of us, along with some of the breads and spreads while the other employee asked us for our drink orders. I appreciate fast service but after that, I had a feeling maybe because they've been so busy lately that the employees all trained to just get people in and out as soon as possible? Another employee soon appeared (a minute after sitting down) and explained to us how the meal works and made a point to mention that before the pasta and the chicken courses, the table will be cleared and yes, everything we saw on the menu was going to come out. Everything tasted great with the exception of the chicken, which the white meat was so incredibly dry. The dark meat wasn't bad but the white meat was really like chicken jerky, especially the parmesan cheese chicken. I'm not sure if we just got pieces that have been sitting for awhile or if that's just how they cook it, but for a chicken place, I was disappointed. Costco chicken is was more moist. The other issue is that we didn't get one of the pastas and and one of the chicken. When I asked about them, the waiter was nice and explained that because the piri-piri sauce and the Trecce da Marcella pasta are spicy and you have to ask for that separately. We tried them and they were not spicy at all and honestly the piri-piri was probably the best chicken because the sauce gave the chicken so moisture. The pastas were all equally decent and tasted lighter in flavor than your typical Italian pasta, which I was okay with. But we kept feeling the timing of everything was off. They never cleared the table after the salad course because we were still eating and only a few minutes had passed. Before long, our table was filled with every course and it just felt like we were being given the entire menu quickly so we can just eat and leave. All in all, this place still gets a 4 because of the value for the overall quality of the food. Our waiter was incredibly kind and was helpful whenever we did have questions. Honestly, the desserts and the salad course was probably my favorite. I enjoy snacking on a bunch of different items, varying in temps and textures and so that was probably my favorite part of the meal. While we were not expecting that long of a dinner, the owner was very apologetic, and they tried their best with what service they had. While we didn't have the best experience on a weekend due to how popular the restaurant was, the food quality was still amazing and we will definitely come back, but probably avoid weekends. A beautiful facility! We went here for Thanksgiving and I would not go back. Food was served a few pieces at a time. I want my steak to show up at the same time as my potatoes, and my turkey to show up at the same time as my dressing, which we never got. The service was terrible, and left us waiting more than 20 minutes between the individual "courses". Definitely not worth the expense, but the deserts were really good, so they get an average rating. My husband and I patronized Casa Pollastro for the first time this weekend. We were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our waitress, Jade, was so nice and her service was spot on. We had a great experience! Unfortunately, we thought we couldn't take our leftovers home and we were absolutely gutted when we learned we could have (we saw the people next to us ask for go boxes for their leftovers) and instead wasted all of that food Tragic! The only thing that I was upset about as far as our meal/drinks was that I ordered a virgin Brazilian Tropic (actually two, which I wouldn't have had I known they were still $12 a piece!!!!) and they charged me full price for it. I don't think that was fair at all, since there was no alcohol! I may call and see if they can do anything about that? I didn't notice til we were already home... I came here with a friend after I was influenced by an instagram post about it. It was a Tuesday night so it was less busy (about 4 tables dining). The dining experience is a 4 course AYCE. The staff brings each course to your table and you can order as much as you want of any of the dishes. They start you off with bread (which came with 3 spreads) and a soup with what looked like tortellinis in it. Both my friend and I thought the soup was underwhelming and salty. (probably to get you thirsty so you fill up on water) Next came the appetizers. (I should preface by saying that they bring out all the appetizers on the menu at first and then you can order more of what you liked) The cheesy bread and salad was good albeit pretty unremarkable. The potato sticks with parmesan were decent. The brazillian grilled cheese with honey was interesting. Overall score: 3.5/5 Then came the pasta dishes. I thought 2/5 of the pastas were good. The alfredo fettuccini and the squash ravioli stood out. Whereas the other ones were strange and perhaps an acquired taste. I'll score it 2.5/5. Third course was the meat which was 3 kinds of roasted chicken leg quarters. They bring out the original and the parmesan first (spicy piri piri was also available upon request) The chicken came out tender but some pieces were more juicy than others. Picanha, ribeye, and filet were also available as add-ons at $15 each (also AYCE) but we chose to forgo it. I give the chicken 3/5. (I have to mention that we were getting pretty full before the chicken course and i'd have preferred to get the entree towards the beginning) Lastly came the dessert. 3 different kinds but kind of all the same texture. A chocolate mousse, caramel flan, and a passion fruit mousse. They were all good. Score: 4/5 Overall, I came here bc I was curious seeing it in passing. The wait staff were all friendly and enthusiast about the dining experience, patiently explaining how it all works. The food was good and inoffensive. The one thing that ruins the experience for me was the order in which the courses are brought out for you. Disclaimer: they will be raising their price from $30 to $40 so it won't be as value starting next month. But $30 for an all you can eat? And with this quality? Honestly sooo worth it. Even at $40 it's a pretty good price. All of the food we had was amazing and I love how they bring everything out and you just eat what you want. We enjoyed our experience at this new Brazilian concept in the states. There was a plethora of dishes for us to try at an affordable price. We had the ability to reorder anything we want but we were so full when we tried everything in the course. Some dishes tasted amazing. However, some lacked in quality. Unfortunately the main star of the course meal, the Galeto chickens, did not meet our expectations. When we entered, we were provided with phenomenal service right away. We had multiple staff members come and bring us our food and drinks and they introduced every single item to us. Entry Course: The bread loaf was baked perfectly and paired well with the herb butter and their tomato pate. There was also a dip that's like pico de gallo but with eggplants. It was really refreshing with the bread. The soup tasted okay for me. A normal chicken soup with some kind of dumplings that is filled with cheese. All I tasted was the chicken broth. Salad Course: Their Salad tasted soooo good with their vinaigrette. Definitely recommend eating it with the chicken. The polenta frita was my favorite in this course. Its like eating potato fries but the texture is different in a good way. They were perfectly crisp and soft sprinkled with parmesan. Their fried cheese balls had a nice chewy and crispy texture which I really enjoyed. But the cheese flavor was not present. The potato salad tasted pretty bland. Lastly there was this pancake pastry drizzled in honey. It kinda tasted like cheese but I didn't really like the texture of it. Main Course Pasta: I enjoyed the spaghetti with four cheese a lot. The green pasta with jalapeño sauce was addicting. Loved the heat it gave and the jalapeño flavor was superb. The two ravioli dishes that had guava and squash tasted different to me but it was not enjoyable. I did not like the soggy texture of the ravioli. There was also this white sauce pasta dish and it had no flavor at all. Main Course Galetos: They were dry but in some parts it was juicy. They were pretty small but at this point we were almost full with the other courses and we do have the option to order more. The traditional just tasted like a roasted chicken from Costco. However the Parmesan crusted chicken was really good. The skin was addicting but the actual meat was so so. Lastly, we had the piri piri which packed some heat in it. It vaguely tasted like buffalo sauce which I'm not a fan of but it's slightly more aromatic. The meat on this one was even drier so I didn't finish it. Dessert Course: The passion fruit mousse with passion fruit seeds was the best one. We absolutely loved it. Nicely sweet and refreshing. The Brazilian Flan was good too. The chocolate mousse was also decent. Nothing special. Lastly the red wine tapioca was the one we didn't enjoy. It might be good for others but not with our tastebuds. The flavors just kept getting better with the Brazilian queijo coalho & honey, fried polenta, fried pepper jack cheese and grilled polenta. The main course of three types of chicken (traditional, Parmesan crusted and spicy) that's marinated 12-hours and cooked over charcoal was yummy! I will note that out of the two times we have been there were two different experiences. The first time was amazing, on a Saturday, they brought dishes to our table and the food was amazing. We received attentive service. Food came out quickly. Used plates were promptly cleared from the table. The atmosphere is semi-casual, but nice. The steak and the chocolate mouse were good. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The pastas were a bit lacking. The noodles were stuck together and slightly mushy. Other items were all mediocre. We love flan, but theirs had an off taste to it. We didn't like it at all. The alcohol drinks are tiny, but strong and delicious. Each dish is served as tasting sized portions. By time you finish them, it's a lot of food. You can also ask for more if you want. It's a great value for the price paid at $35 per person (does not include drinks). Saw this place featured on an influencer page so I thought I'd check it out! It's a super interesting concept. It's AYCE with a prefixed menu; however, you don't select the dishes like you'd do at a traditional Brazilian place like Fogo de Chao. Every item on the menu is brought to you and then you let them know if you want more of the items! The bread with spreads were delicious! I thought the chicken dishes were prepared very nicely and the pastas were decent, nothing that was out of the world. Service was great- everyone was very attentive. It was a decently laidback vibe inside so you don't feel terrible if you didn't dress up. For the price, this was not too bad! This is located in north Dallas in an area where it's not the fanciest nor is there much to do around. However, it's worth checking out with friends/family at least once! The service was so prompt, they explained everything and made sure you felt as at home as possible. Drinks didn't have a chance to empty, they made sure everything stayed topped off. All the food was so good to us, one of the chickens was a bit spicy but in a very good way, it was our favorite of the 3 flavors they offer and the desserts were not only beautiful but also very tasty.
