They greeted me with smiling eyes with mask on. They gave me great recommendation since it was my first time there. Super attentive! Excellent customer service~ The Pastry/Bread: Their cakes are so beautifully decorated! You can buy the whole cake or by slice. This time I tried the Strawberry Mango & Earl Grey flavors. I love they decorate the cake with edible flowers. So adorable! Seriously~ how could their cake so soft & moist? Unbelievable! They are not overly sweet. I love it! OMG! Look at the bread section, so many to choose from! They really get super creative making their bread. Now Korean bakery is my new favorite! The manager highly recommends me to try their famous "Cream Buns". There are 5 different flavors. So much flavorful fillings inside. No wonder they are the top sales items in the store! Definitely must try! You can't have bread & pastries without coffee, right? They knew it! They have a coffee shop section as well. It is nice they have in store seating area. Sadly did not get any bread, but there are many choices from their Salt Bread to Castelles. The matcha is a bit more on the milky side, the matcha isn't as strong as I'd hoped. My new go to spot to pick up affordable, cute, unique, and tasty birthday cakes! I always notice this bakery when I shop at H Mart next door, drooling over all the beautiful cakes. What really stood out is that they had smaller & taller shapes, which I find makes it look more elegant for birthdays & special occasions. I've purchased the small earl grey cake twice now ($28) and it was a hit with my friends - you taste the early grey tea & fluffy cake without it being too heavy or sweet. It's perfect for 5 people, or more if you have the type of friends who just want small cake slices. If pre-ordering, bakery staff recommends just ordering a few days beforehand. You can purchase those happy birthday candles for an additional $3, or they also give you a few candles (tall ones!) free upon request. I went to pickup a pre-ordered cake last weekend and unfortunately had to wait almost an hour to pick up, but they were apologetic and gave us extra pastries for free to make up for the wait (due to busyness). I've been seeing this bakery pop up all over my social media. I happen to be around the area and decided to stop by. Parking can be a little difficult as there's two parking garage. One for Hmart, if you spent $30 at hmart, you can get free parking for one hour. The other one is entered through Mariposa and you can get it validated for up to 2 hour free parking. We went around 7pm and there was still a good amount of options, but a lot of the salt bread was sold out. We ordered lemon castella, corn sausage bread, garlic salt bread, onion cream cheese salt bread, and dog cupcake. I was looking forward to the salt bread because of all the social media hype, but it was just ok, it didn't stand out. The other two things we ordered was delicious. I don't walk past a bakery without perusing its cases. on my way into a K-town H Mart I stumbled upon Concerto right across from it. it's a small Korean bakery cafe that carries many of the standard goods like coffee buns, baguettes, sweet garlic toasts, cakes, and macarons. the "must try" according to their case are their cream buns. they have flavors like taro sweet potato and sweet pumpkin. we tried the injeolmi, black sesame and matcha. they all were fairly true to taste with the black sesame having the strongest flavor. the matcha was the the faintest and as a matcha lover, it left me wishing it was stronger. they're a bit on the sweeter side because of the cream and red bean paste, so they'd be perfect to pair with coffee. is the cream buns are also sized to share so bring a friend or save for later -- they keep well in the fridge. read more

I bumped into this bakery while I was trying to kill some time walking around in this area of Koreatown. Got a few goodies. The croquette was a bit bland. Although the custard in the custard bread was very smooth and tasty, I wished the bread part itself was a little less eggy (the bottom of the bread kinda looked a little like scrambled eggs). My favorite item that I got here though is something that's called a mammoth; it's a huge pastry and I got it due to curiosity especially from seeing all of the colorful layers it has. It's delicious!! There are so many different layers (bean layers, custard layer, tart jam layer) that blend well with each other. On top that, the exterior of the pastry is very tasty and is reminiscent to that of a coffee cake (with that being said, it's very crumbly; need to knife-and-fork this one to avoid making a huge mess.....saying this from personal experience). I keep coming back in search of the mammoth bread, but unfortunately it seems to have been discontinued. I think it was a pineapple bun-type bread cut into several long, thin, flat slices, and then smeared full of toppings. I recall red bean paste, whipped cream, and two types of jam. Absolutely indulgent and delicious. I heard good things about their cream buns and I am happy to say they are as good as the reviews say. I got a sweet potato cream puff and first of all, it is SHAPED like a sweet potato and rolled in purple yam powder, which is sooooo cute! It also held up really well in the fridge, since I waited a day or two to eat it. The bread was still soft and a little chewy and the whipped cream was still fluffy. Honey Garlic Bread (A) - Honey garlic bread is my favorite rendition of garlic bread and I was very thrilled when I took my first bite and recognized the iconic sweet and garlicky flavor. Garlic bread might or might not taste strongly of garlic, but neither of these are recommended Since there's a hall of fame featured on a sign or something, I'd suggest trying the breads highlighted in the hall of fame. During COVID-19 as of March 2021: We came here an hour before closing. Concerto Bakery is located inside the same building as H-Mart in K-town and is currently in its soft opening phase. We were greeted by the gentleman working alone that night. He was very helpful and pleasant to talk to while making decisions on the best selling macarons. We tried several of them which were made frrresh that night! My favorite was the pistachio and the espresso flavored ones. Definitely worth buying a box as a gift or yourself. :P They are a small Korean bakery and sell in-house made pastries, cakes, and breads. It reminded me of Korean bakeries I would frequent in Flushing, NYC so the standard is up there! They are still in "soft opening" but every time I swing by it seems to be VERY busy haha I went maybe 3 times? and every time was a pleasant and HEAVY visit. HAHA I picked up their Garlic Cream Bread... that I've been DYING to try, to my surprise it was crispy and then soft inside! *ppooofffff* hahaha It was delicious Potato croquettes with corn (so much carbbsssss) The sausage bread I try to avoid but just can't, so cheesy and so delicious! Honestly, this should be a 1-star review but considering that I do still like the flavor of the cakes and historically have always had a good time here, I'm leaving a 2-star review. -- My friend was getting married and tried to call in for a consultation for a cake. They had us come in person for the consultation, just to tell us "oh the head baker isn't here. You have to come again on these days at these hours" which i believe were like Tuesdays - Thursday 10am-12pm? some obscurely niche hours that we had to take time off from our work schedules to make. The initial consultation with him went well and he was friendly and told us that we could take our time to think about it and just let him know when we wanted to get the ball rolling and put in a deposit, and that we'd just need to let him know ~3 months prior to the event. We called 3 months prior, in January 2024, just for him to say "what are you talking about. I have no consult from you. come in and do it again with me" We were appalled at this point and decided to get a wedding cake from elsewhere. The lack of responsibility and care was such a turn off. However, after ordering the wedding cake from elsewhere, my friend's groom still wanted at least a sheet cake from Concerto because he really liked the flavors, so I personally went in, placed the order 2 months ahead of time, and paid for it right then and there, for a pickup on 03/16/24 at Noon. I discussed this pickup time with the grooms afterwards and they said they wanted me to pick it up earlier, so I called them on 02/03/24 to ask them to change the pickup time to 9am, which they said was no problem given the pickup date was still over a month away. Given our history with them, I called them on 03/01/24 to confirm that the cake would be ready to be picked up on 03/16 at 9am. She initially had some trouble locating our order but eventually found it and said "yes March 16th 9am" to me and confirmed it. Now. The day before the wedding, at 4pm, I just had a feeling that I had to call and confirm one more time. Thank god I did because they just said "I don't know what you're talking about. I have no cake order and I have no cake and the baker has left for the day." I was irate. I asked to speak to the manager but of course, she was already gone for the day just like the baker. Instead the poor worker acting as a middle woman, was texting the group chat of her coworkers and trying to get in contact with her manager. She eventually calls me back approximately 15 minutes later to say "yes, I spoke with my manager. We will have your cake ready for you by noon tomorrow." Which again, made me blow my shit because I had called and confirmed that it would be ready by 9am twice. to which she responds, "oh your order says Noon, not 9am. I'm going to have to speak to my manager about this again." They don't get back to me for 2 hours. Apparently the reason was that her manager had to call her baker to see if he could get the cake ready by 9am. Which leads to the very obvious conclusion that they were so god damn unorganized that if I didn't call, I would have no cake for a wedding that I placed an order with 2 months prior and had called numerous times to confirm. A wedding that they had lost the consultation for. -- TL;DR They almost ruined my friends wedding, TWICE. They have great tasting cakes, so go here if you don't need anything special or custom ordered. However if you want anything outside of their day-to-day pastries or cakes, I would not trust them with anything. read more

Every one of their pastries are delicious. My favorite was the black sesame and ingeolmi bun. I'm obsessed with these two flavors in general. It's nutty and toasty with a delectable sweet cream/paste filling. Also got a cake to celebrate my brother's birthday. It was a strawberry shortcake. It is the perfect size (maybe around 6"?). I would say if you like a light and airy cake, this would be for you. My siblings weren't the biggest fans for this reason, but I don't mind the whipped texture, especially with all those heavier desserts. Overall, I highly recommend this place!
