Seating: Inside and outside seating. Great for pairs or groups of four. Feels: It's on a Golf Course off PCH and close to CSULB but generally hidden. The spot itself is nothing flashy, just your casual convenient store and restaurant. Your entertainment is watching the golf course. Great place for a low-key food adventure and if you want to get away from the city hustle and bustle. FOOD: The Dirty (Recommend) Dave's famous burger with a chipotle kick to it. The presentation is a good old fashion grilled smashed burger. The magic was in the beef, caramelized and juicy. Delicious sweet bacon jam with a hint of spice, this is what really makes it unique. Touched with a slice of cheese for a gooey feeling. Served with white bean chili, it added a more savory flavor a simply delicious burger. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Dave was cool! Laid back dude. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. The hype is relatively real. Reasonable price, simple selection, and a calming vibe. They make burgers right on patio when ordered. We were offered side and thought they were included...they weren't. Knocked only a 1/2 star for that. One was tasty, the other not our favorite but good. No take out available we didn't care. I felt like it was a hidden get away you find while on vacation. This place is so easy to miss for newbies but not locals. If it weren't for Yelp I probably would never have noticed it. When you're driving down PCH, you see a small golf course field nestled between two condo/apartment complexes. What you don't see on the backside is the small clubhouse and deck with an outdoor grille. The clubhouse is small and has some tables to eat inside. Food: Burgers 5/5. Yummy homemade flavors, bread is light and fluffy, meat crumbly and tasty. It's fresh because they don't make it 'til you order it. No fries, only chips at the time we went, but it was enough. Service: 5/5. Staff was nice and service fast. Facility: 4/5 - small, only a few indoor tables. Outside patio tables overlooking the somewhat dry golf course. I was looking at yelp trying to find a place to eat lunch at. To my surprise I found this place. When I pulled into the parking lot, I thought I might've been at the wrong place. Nope, I was here. I walked in and ordered the Ortega burger. I can honestly say this place is a hidden gem. Everything is simple and delicious. The ambiance is chill as you get to overlook the golf course. The service was good and quick. Everything went well together in the burger and it wasn't super hard to eat. Sometimes you order a burger and they stack it to a point it's hard to eat, not this place. I would definitely come back again. I don't have any complaints. I read the Eater LA article (title "LA's New Hidden Burger Spot Grills Right on a Public Golf Course") and decided to drive down to Long Beach for lunch. It was well worth the drive from Los Angeles. This place is on a deck off a golf course restaurant. The gentleman who grills is very nice and even checked in with me to ask how my burger was despite being super busy. I found the burger very filling and the flavor of the beef in combination with the jam sauce was very good. I really enjoyed it. The bacon jam burger was about $15 and change. The ambiance is quite nice. You have the coastal breeze that cools things down and you are right next to a golf course. It is a very relaxed vibe which I liked. Also, there is plenty of free parking in the parking lot so that is also a plus. I would definitely go back. I'm glad I made the drive down. Wow, if it weren't for Craig, we would have never got to try this hidden gem! The owner, David, has so much passion in what he does. We ordered the Dirty Burger and the Pulled Pork burger and both were very tasty. We got a bag of chips with our meal and a water bottle. David came over to chat with us and told us about his place and his ideas. He let us try his new beer which was pretty yummy too. Crack has been in my must see list for a while now, we just finally had the right alignment of circumstances to make it work. We were greeted by the owner at the door. The "restaurant" is located adjacent to the pro shop in a golf course in along beach, bixby village I think. He explained the options and we tried the one with bacon jam, someone else got the green Chile version. These are all smash burgers done outside on their patio on a black stone grill. Dave serves burgers and a variety of different meals. I witnessed someone eating delicious ahi tuna sashimi. It looked incredible! I had the bacon jam burger. While the patty is thin, the bacon jam and sauces make this a delightful and delicious indulgence.
