Update: 6 years later and this is still our favorite donut shop. Not only the donuts, but the employees as well. Fantastic business.

The donuts are good, but you have to time your arrival carefully to get your pick of flavors. I went shortly after opening at 6 am and they didn't have the PB and j or any of the other flavors I would like to try. We went at around 11 on a Saturday and had the same result, albeit for a different reason (my first trip, they weren't made yet and my second, they were sold out.) The yeast donuts are light and fluffy; I haven't tried the cake donuts yet, but they look good. My husband and son had maple iced and I had chocolate. We all enjoyed our treat. I've gone in for a sandwich twice; both times I got the muffaletta. These sandwiches are huge and the bread is crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and stacked with the requisite meats and cheeses in adequate ratio. Given the bread, they weren't authentic, but I live in San Diego, not New Orleans, so I can adjust. The second time I didn't taste the crucially important olive paste. I went to the counter and asked for more. They did give it to me, but not without claiming, a bit indignantly, that they'd already put it on there. I wasn't in the mood for an argument, so I didn't ask if they would so kindly show me even a fleck of olive or pimento. I took my plastic condiment cup full of olive salad back to my table and ate my sandwich. Since this was my fourth trip to the shop and my first complaint, I am willing to assume it was an aberration. Prices are standard for the area. The shop was clean and so were the restrooms. There are plenty of napkins, straws, etc. Soda is in bottles or cans; no fountain drinks here. Parking's a pain in the neck, especially getting out, I don't ding on that, but thought you might want to know. read more

Definitely one of the best bagels I've tried in the RB/4S area. The bagels aren't hard and it's toasted just right. On the downside, the time I went the bagel flavor options were very limited. Nevertheless, still tasted pretty good! read more

The donuts are good and big. We went at 9 am, and while there were still a good supply of donuts to choose from, they were limited to the standard/typical variety. I wish they had more variety, like a red velvet or cinnamon, but I liked the donuts enough to check out the other locations. read more

Donut Touch is ok but it's a good thing they're the only competition in the area. They have decent donuts and bagels but their customer service is downright atrocious. The wait times in the morning are usually horrible so don't plan on getting in and out fast. The staff is usually in a sour mood, looking as if they despise working there. Never a smile on their face and seem bothered that they have to help you. In summary, decent food, crappy service. read more

Who doesn't love a freshly baked donut? Coffee is pretty good too and the parking is easy here. The area is a little off to the side but easy to navigate once you're familiar with it. Will be back but hopefully not too much, elevated A1C levels are no joke. read more

SUGAR LUMPS! Essentially that describes the donut. And boy do people love a donut, it is addicting and nostalgic. I actually have been to the other Donut Touch location in Scripps Ranch and this new addition is in a great 4S Ranch spot. There is really no competition here for donuts and I am just glad there is another breakfast option around. I grabbed a dozen mixed $10. They had multiple flavors, among the favorites red velvet and blueberry, all very fresh. There is a good selection of other donuts, some speciality ones with an up charge, and a few bagels. I was disappointed I did not see the bacon maple bar today, which is a beloved favorite I have gotten from their Scripps location. Hopefully they will have some shortly. The donuts here are delicious but holy cow, the line is LONG on Saturday mornings after wee ones swim class let's out, so it isn't really worth the time you spend waiting. They never have more than 2 or 3 workers and every time I have gone in, instead of having designated jobs, one person will grab your donuts, walk to the register, ring you up, then clean up and move to the next customer. It takes forever, especially when the line is out the door. read more

Cute, small deli with limited but delicious options. Very reasonably priced, only paid a little over $5 for my 1/2 dozen donuts. Again, even though they don't have too many options the options they have are pretty good. No amex, $5 and over to use credit cards. It's probably the best donut shop around this part of town. I also like the fact the sell bagels and sandwiches here too, so you can get breakfast and lunch. read more

I came late on a Saturday morning and there was still a decent selection. I went with two specialty donuts: maple bacon and cookies & cream. The total was just under $5 which is pretty steep for two donuts even if they're specialties. The donuts were delicious and on par with most family owned donut shops. The atmosphere of the shop was very welcoming. There is even a seating area for groups that has toys and games. The bottomline with this shop is they're not my 1st pick for donuts in north county, but they've got the goods if you're in the area and need a sweet fix. read more

I drove there this morning and the place is not even open at 5am. I don't know if the business information is a user generated info or the actual management of Donut Touch made the changes. It says here on yelp that their hours is 5am-6pm Mon-Sun. So, if the information here is from the management, OPEN UP YOUR BUSINESS AS ADVERTISED! IF the information here is "user" generated, then yelp need to QA their information. *Will give this place a better rating once I get to taste the goods* **UPDATE** Drove back again around 6:15am and they are finally open. I asked the folks who works there about their hours and finally figured out what's going on. The hours listed in yelp is the hours of the Mira Mesa branch NOT the 4S Ranch location. Visited this donut shop in my neighborhood of 4S Ranch this morning. I typically drive all the way to PQ for their donuts, however "Krispy's" is closed on Monday. I noticed the young lady waiting on the woman before me, exchanging cash/coin. She did not have gloves on and did not wash her hands after negotiating cash/coin. Better care is needed to stop infections from spreading, especially during COVID-19. Until a vaccine is available, please be safe and stay safe. wow...great donuts and great service. this place is new in the area and it's bitter sweet. Love donuts....but gotta make sure I don't go too much. We've tried an assortment of donuts, and they are all very good. My fav is the blueberry glazed...amazing! Prices are $.99/donut and $5.50/half dozen. So not cheap but not bad. The family that owns it seem very nice. Last time I was in I tried to pay by cc but their cc machine was down. They told me to just come back another time to pay and not to worry. I happen to have cash, so paid that way. But how nice for them to offer that. I think they will do very well. read more

The red velvet may have too much red dye in it because they always leave my mouth red afterwards. Really enjoyed the glazed red velvet and blueberry. Can't go wrong with chocolate anything. Heads up: Yes, its a bummer that they don't accept cart under $5. Hasn't been a problem for me as I've always gotten 1/2 dozen. I recently moved from NYC and have been experiencing some serious donut withdrawals. So you can imagine my delight when I saw this donut shop open in the area, just a few doors down from my favorite Starbucks. I purchased the maple bar, glazed donut, and apple fritter. All were PERFECTION. They were light and fluffy while still maintaining the perfect density a donut should have (If a Dunkin Donut and a Krispy Kreme had a child, this would be it). This place has also mastered layering just the right amount of icing on their treats. I will definitely be back to try more of their donuts, as they all looked amazing. Also, this is my new go-to place if I ever need to take a dessert to a party or work, as their prices are very reasonable. The staff are very friendly and were happy to make suggestions. read more

This place has the best and most fun variety of donuts, my coworkers always love when I bring them into work. If you haven't tried their cronut you got to try it out, it's delicious! My only complaint is that they run out early, probably because they're so good. I have to say I was disappointed when I had wanted to order some of the specialty St. Patrick's day donuts but the lady ahead of me took the whole tray leaving me and all the other people behind me with none. I know that's a trivial complaint so I can't knock them for selling their yummy donuts. read more

I'm a donut snob. Not all donuts are created equal. And Donut Touch is a winner! Must try: Glazed (light, airy, and slightly chewy, and not to sweet ie...crispy creme glazed wayyy to sweet but this glazed is perfect. Blueberry (omg, like the moistest blueberry muffin with glaze - out of this world. Red Velvet - a close second to the blueberry. I suggest arriving early before 12 if you can because they do run out of certain flavors. They were out of cruellers, which are also delicious here when I arrived at about 9. read more

This is my first ever review on yelp, but I just loved this little donut shop and had to create an account to let y'all know! First of all, I just moved to the area from ohio, so I'm still trying out a lot of places in SD. Coming from ohio, we have great donut shops and I was just in the area killing time and found this place on yelp so decided to try it. I got to the shop a few minutes after it closed, not realizing the time. The owner was sitting outside at the patio tables with one of his employees and when he saw me trying to open the door he was happy to unlock the shop and still serve me. He was really friendly and kind and when I mentioned I had just moved here he was even nicer and asked about what I was doing/etc. I decided to go for a pumpkin and pecan scone and it was delicious! He mentioned that everything was fresh baked that day. But even better...he threw in another donut for me for free! Oh did I mention he also let me use the the restroom even though they were technically closed (my bladder appreciated that a lot too lol). I can see myself becoming a regular at this place, even though it's a little farther from where I live. Overall, great little shop, warm service, and yummy treats...5 stars! read more

Great donuts. Average bagels and average coffee. Service is great. Here's the downside: terrible coffee cups and lids. Bulky styrofoam for sandwiches. All makes for a bad to-go option. Don't drink your coffee in the car! Flimsy cups don't hold the flimsy lid so of course they spill. I was fortunate enough to spill on the way to the car. Bottom line: go for the donuts, and stay for the coffee. read more

Recently went in for a dozen donuts. As always the service was great and the shop clean with cute decorations. We loved the blueberry and black velvet donuts. Unique! Anyway, I drove by this place many times to get an occasional iced tea from Starbucks, and have been hearing a lot of praise regarding their donuts. Now, like I said, I do have an aversion towards donuts, but M&M's godly and famous Blueberry Donuts make the exception! So, when I saw someone mention that Donut Touch had blueberry donuts, I was immediately intrigued. My boyfriend bought a box after his grisely overnight shift from work around 6AM, which might I add is OPTIMAL time to get these babies nice and fresh lol. Anyway, he the blueberry, red velvet glazed and with cream cheese frosting, and old fashioned glazed. I've only tried the blueberry donut, and it's really good; but could use a TEENSY bit more blueberry. I need to visit this place more to see what they have to offer! read more

The donuts here are always so soft, fluffy, and fresh. My family likes to come here Sundays around noon and their selection is still pretty good by that time. Service is consistently nice and friendly. My favorite is the red velvet! I tried their unique jalapeno pepper donut just for fun, and it was surprisingly pretty good! Just the tiniest peppery taste but not enough to overwhelm any sweetness of the donut. You know you can always judge a donut shop by their classic glazed donut, and their's is on point.
